Pretty sure I found the oak, but no cache. Signs of certain environmental organizations having been present and something you don't want to mess with v close to where hint directs to look.
I was visiting a friend for the long weekend, and what a great opportunity to come and collect some of the caches on my list! Thank you to all the COs for the great entertainment!! A nice specimen, TFTC!!
Had to wait for a muggle with a happy dog. But moved on down the track and got it in the way back. Fascinating watching the logs being moved down below. Tftc
Continuing my bike ride along the trail this afternoon, noticed a nice fresh dead possum hanging out of the trap on the otherside of the tree, don't worry I won't post any pictures, TFTC
Bei schnsten Wetter konnten wir unsere Fahrrder nutzen um den Chash zu heben DankeTCFC
Headed over to Picton for a long evening of caching. Managed 14 finds, 1 DNF, a swim and a few hours of walking. Interesting area. Impressively large shipbeing loaded. Was getting dark but still managed a quick find. Cache and log all fine. Next time I must bring my bike. Thanks for the smiley
Found on my second attempt with the family for backup this time. Cache was full of water so couldnt sign log book. TFTC!!
This was a short walk from the carpark and although there were a lot of people in the carpark none were on the track. Did meet a couple of cyclists though. Cache found, log signed, replaced where found. Andy headed on down the track to the next cache while I went back to the car to shift it to the next carpark. tftc#7102
**19,948**Weather has eased marginally, still very blustery but at least the birds are attempting to sing. Mr Geckoh was pleased to finally have this cache signed off. Dropping we but pleased! TFTC
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. Two and a half weeks ago we landed at this port aboard the Ovation of the Seas and spent the day hiking several miles while grabbing caches in town. Now we are here with our rental vehicle. preparing to take the ferry to Wellington tomorrow. What fun to see the port from this angle today. We hunted both caches up here along the trail and found both. Now we continued to this side of the trail spotting two California Quail on the path ahead of us. Upon reaching GZ we were soon adding our ink to the log. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
The Swiss cacher family with Spiess, J_walk, MsSophie and Drayah visited also New Zealand and this cache. TFTC!

Unfortunately it was slightly undone when i found it and it's wet but lovely little walk down the side of work
Left a couple of small treasures for next children to find. Was a bit wet inside container so did our best to dry it. Thanks!
After quite a long search the cache was found on the ground near the cache site (according to the hint) returned to the hint location. TFTC
Near by, who knows what's going on!!!!

2.50pm. Took a while to work out how to get to GZ. Searched for a while following the hint and then went back to the first place I looked at and found the container on the ground. Signed the log the put it back in keeping with the hint.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Stopped at the lookout to oversee the lumber loading operations. Looks like a slow process. Cache very wet but the log took a careful entry with a pencil.
Thanks GH6710.

400 for Masterton2, another for me, great view nearby of piles of logs at the port. A salt boat was in unloading mountains of salt. Apparently imported salt needed because Grassmere having a bad year for drying their supply.
TEMBO! and I started our way to the North Island by ferry. Near the Shakespeare's Oak we found the cache soon.
Thanks to GH6710 nz for hiding and maintaining the cache.

A really huge tree - very impressive! Thanks for the cache - little bit wet, but in fine condition.
Water was standing in container, so emptied it and dried as best as I could. Rehid it, ten cm away from original spot to keep it out of the puddle. TFTC
Cache must have blown out was exposed, placed back in what I assume is the correct position
Well, the hidey hole and the cache container are a bit of a swimming pool for crickets right now. I emptied it to sign the log, but it won’t last long I think… TFTC!
A quick easy find. But had only an eye liner to write with. The log was wet so unable to sign. Took photo. Hope this will do. Tftc
After far too many hours inside painting, I needed some fresh air. I had the replacement log of a nearby puzzle cache to sign so grabbed this one and a couple of others on the way.
Heading on a geo adventure with BCD to the top of the South Island...Picton, Blenheim, Havelock and Nelson.
Day 1
Arrived in Picton and after checking in it was time to explore. Nice quick find here TFTC

Off on a weeks break to picton/blenheim/havelockon with kjr..
Plan A was to do the queen Charlotte track but with recent rain that has been closed so a road trip was plan B...
Made it 8 1/2 hrs after leaving Geraldine we check in to the yha for a couple of nights..time to stretch the legs and see how far we can get along the link pathway..
Could see it from the path so no dramas here..

TFTC - managed to get around here on our bikes after some heavy rain but I imagine this track will be closed and there will need to be a lot of work to get it back to normal use .
This is as far as we were going to walk today as the weather was a little unpredictable. Quickly located the cache and completed the requirements. We were intrigued and the little blue door across the track and who went to the effort there
Parked at the nearby lookout. Walked down to an access point JDownloader the rd. Easy find but logbook is wet as.tftc
The short walk from the car was far enough. My feet arent in the best shape after the Queen Charlotte but its good to be out of tramping boots. Quick find, a bit of water in the container but log all good. Thanks GH6710

Very pleasant to be down here in the shade of the oak on a very hot afternoon. Quick find thanks GH6710 TFTC # 16,641
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are on a bit of a Christmas Roadtrip from Auckland to Ingill & back ... we'll be doing a few geocaches on our travels ... this being the 163th cache of hopefully many ... we had been spent Christmas in Invercargill & were now heading back to Auckland, taking the scenic route ... we were now heading North, doing caches as we go ... had stayed the night in Motueka & were now heading to Picton ... be rude not to grab some caches on the way ... stopped here at the Link Pathway over looking Shakespear Bay to nab a couple ... another 'smiley face' to the tally ... TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #1,897 for us.
A quick easy find after a short walk from the car park. The cache was very wet, but the waterproof log was ok. An impressive view of the wharf below, where a log ship was being loaded, from a yard which seemed very full of logs. TFTC
Nice to be away on another geocaching trip with tmann421, travelling to a few places in the upper South Island.

On a 3 week geocaching trip with woolwood9 around the top of the South Island.
Thanks for the reason to visit this location and for the cache.
*Very nice find for us here*
SL **tm/ww NZ**, but may appear as a black smudge on the many wet logs or plastic log strips.
Container with water inside, log wet. Our stamp ink will run and only be a black smudge.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 3 of our 4 day weekend in and around Blenheim. Today we are heading to Picton, hoping that the predicted rain wouldn't eventuate. It didn't (apart from a few spots of rain) until we drove back to Blenheim late afternoon.
I managed to miss the trail head WP and didn't realise my mistake until I was 30m above the cache. Oops . Retraced my steps, then found the path I should be on. By now, SW, who had been paying attention, had already found the cache. TFTC.

#18599. I was lagging behind Troodles. She missed the track and carried on into the car park. I called her back but she reckoned the track was a dead end. Despite that, I turned on to the track and it took me straight to the cache! Quick find once at GZ. TFTC.
Kiwimykl and I decided to go to Picton today for lunch and he thought it would be a good idea to pick up a few caches that he had already got along the way. Especially seeing that for most of them, the CO is shifting out of the district and who knows what might happen to the caches then. He also wanted to introduce me to a Adventure Lab cache.
We spent a pleasant morning walking around Picton, learning more about its history and gathering clues for the Adventure Lab Bonus Cache which ended up taking us in the vicinity of a nearby virtual cache, which then took us in the vicinity of this cache.
Kiwimykl had already found this one so knew where to look. I was surprised when 20m away from GZ he said 'There it is!', and I looked at where he was pointing and could see the cache from the distance. When he found the cache it was suitably camouflaged, but over time the camo has come off. KM informed the CO.
A QEF SWAG (Short Walk and Grab).

We were just signing the LogBook when a Muggle walked past us..Goodmornings were exchanged and he kept walking..What must he have thought we were doing...
If he had stopped he would have got a quick lesson in Caching, without showing him the Hidey Hole,of course..TFTH
