A found whilst travelling to and around Carpenter Rocks today, on a very windy day....Nice hide, great view.Gotta love finding the oldest one in SA that I was yet to find.I now have only 4 left to find in SA that were placed in 2001.TNLNSL Thanks
Beautiful scenery at a historical land mark . Beautiful day for it . Great find
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on. SA caching foray. Staying in Mount Gambier for a week to grab some of the local hides. Its been sixteen years since since we were last here so enjoying the re-visit. Love the country road hides. Great to get an oldie. Our gps said 4 mts. Thanks for the hide
We are travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. This is our last day in Beautiful Mt Gambier. Thanks to all the CO for placing geocaches in the area, we have had fun chasing them down. Another oldie ticked off our list. LNCU.
HevWalker has replaced the cache for me, and will be sorting out the adoption papers.
Spending some time looking here but no go. Plenty of people using this area for a toilet especially when there is one just down the road. After reading the recent logs, reckon cache is either not here or in such disrepair it is unable to be located Next time perhaps.
----------### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUESTED PLEASE** ###----------Hi there TeamGeoCoopers,It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is some sort of issue. Similar to 3up, bucket had a red lid and also soaked, whole thing needs replacing Found w Jessi. No writing tool so took pick but was unable to sign eitherway due to wetness
Lid is split and it was full of water. Log is like paper mache, impossible to sign so I took a photograph. Nice lighthouse. TFTC TNLN
This cache has been on my itinerary list for five years!! Since the millicent mega was announced and I started planning that trip. Then it got canned. Then a second time when we couldnt travel for the Wangaratta mega. So third time lucky for me. And with this stop here, the find completed our last day in SA. We would depart at first light for Ballarat and Melbourne airport. So what a beautiful spot to finish up at, right? We spent a bit of time here after locating the treasure to take in the views at sunset and just unwind. Then we headed to the local for a well earned dinner at the Rocks Tavern. Farewell SA, I love you long time . Signed as the SADDLE club for Shazzar66, AtTheLakeHouse, Duppers Delightful Leap Excursion - or something like that!
Shazzar66, AtTheLakeHouse and I flew from Brisbane to Adelaide to attend the Leap Day Mega. Our plan was to drive from Adelaide to Mt Gambier to find more of our targeted caches in the area, and then to drive to Melbourne Airport via Ballarat, as we had targets there too. Our caching list included Oldies, good or needed D/T caches, caches with high Favourite Point, geo-tour caches in Ballarat and several others that took our interest when we had extra time. Its always exciting to find an Oldie, and South Australia has more than its fair share. This cache was a must-do on our list, and as timing went, we arrived late afternoon. While I was looking in the wrong place, as usual, it was Shazzar66 who made the find here. She has a knack of finding caches quickly. Cache was signed SADDLE Club, our team name during our trip. Thanks, Team GeoCoopers, for bringing us to this awesome spot and for the Old cache.
We were in Adelaide for The Great Leap Forward (Mega-Event). After the event we made our way through to Mt Gambier, and cached a few random caches in the surrounding areas.I found your cache, Cape Banks today. This is my 2939 find.Having a girlie trip with Duppers and At The Lake House. Signed as Saddle club to save room in the logbook.TeamGeoCoopers, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Found with loci612My first ever day in South Australia Woke up in Mount Gambier today with no real destination, but a big list of caches! Ended up just up the road in Millicent, but still several hundred kilometres travelled as we detoured down to the coast! The biggest goal of today, and the entire trip, was finishing my AUSMER! We found not only one, but two caches in my final month I needed! Its been a multi-year challenging journey, so good for it to be finished! This Cache:Great to pick up an old cache in a magnificent spot, off the beaten track! Really enjoyed visiting this lighthouse, and was surprised by how close & easy this cache was to get! There were a couple of muggles that were hanging around but between them we managed to duck down and sign the log! Thanks for bringing us to this spot

Then depending on the time that we will have left at each of our stages, all caches allowing usto visit a nice new place. We only visited a tiny part of this beautiful country which makes us want to come back although it is not next door and I would also remember the warm welcome of Australians and their kindness.I sincerely thank all the poseurs without whom the exploration of all theseplaces known or much more discreet would not have been possible. 6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot. After a night AT Mount Gambier, WE take road. WE do some stop for some cache.nice spot, and great historical discovery Thanks for cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

A short visit down south and found the time to find the odd cache or two this was one of them, a quick find for us today and one of the old ones that has been on our list for some timeTFTC TeamGeoCoopers
Blowing a gale but not deterred. Some great history tftc ps needs new log book
A week away exploring the area with 2beez. Today we popped down here for the day to visit LeeLee's family who are fishermen here. Having travelled here for many years, a visit to the lighthouse was always a must.
Thanks Team GeoCoopers for placing for all to enjoy. A nice size hide. The colour matched the lighthouse.

30,532. Found with minniek, albida33, Sol de lune, smittengranny (signing either as FAMSS or MAFSS to save room and just for fun). After the hordes around Rutherglen it was good to drop down to a group of 5.
Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 7. Today we had a full day to explore around the Mt Gambier region, with a few older caches targeted plus many others on our list. We started heading along the south coast which was spectacular to see. This was an interesting location. A fantastic view, then a quick find at GZ. Signed, replaced, then we headed off to the next one on our list.
Thanks Team GeoCoopers !! Another Golden Oldie found.

Day 7 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today was our first day caching with albida, Sol de lune & smittengranny. We signed as MAFSS to save room. Some of us may have rebelled and signed FAMSS instead. It was a bit dreary and windy but we didn’t get too wet.
The aim was to collect a couple of counties, old caches to finish my Ausmer calendar, and just to have fun.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 8. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 2. After a driving day yesterday to wrap up the mega weekend, today was a trip from Mount Gambier down to the southern coast line with Sol de Lune, Smitten Granny, Fitzy_1965, MinnieK and me (albida33). F.A.M.S.S was the initial in the logs today. Our goal in this region was to visit the two old caches out this way and a few others that are nearly as old. We also managed about ten Earth caches and even went for a walk or two. We ended the day with caching and LABs around Mount Gambier before retiring for a home cooked meal at the caravan park.
This old cache was next on the agenda, even if it meant skipping a few caches to get here. This is a popular spot and we enjoyed the view after finding the cache along with many other visitors.
Thanks for the cache TeamGeoCoopers

Headed to Mount Gambier after the Rutherglen Mega with fitzy_1965, Albida33, Minniek, and Smittengranny. We signed all logs as FAMSS.
We targeted a few older caches, a few multi's, a few puzzles always as well as a couple of earthcaches.......and really anything else we had time for.
Took the drive out for this one and a few others in the area, making for a fun drive in a remote area.
Thanks for the fun Team GeoCoopers...

Today there were two cars of geobuddies travelling around this area collecting a variety of caches based on age, type and favourites. It was an incredibly successful day and thanks must go to all COs for placing such interesting and sometimes challenging caches. This was one of the caches we found and all were signed either as MAFSS or FAMSS , as the group consisted of minniek, Albida33 Fitzy_1965, Sol de Lune and myself Smittengranny.

We are enjoying a lovely few days in Nelson and have been venturing west to explore the south east corner of SA.
Today we parked up on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful waters.
Prior to heading back to camp we paid the light house a visit. We quickly had the cache in hand and look forward to returning again to further explore the area in the nit to distant future

Really great view of coastline and interesting history of lighthouse and shipwrecks!
Found this one while stopping for lunch at the lighthouse. Great view with some great history
Many a trip to Millicent was planned, locked out or down. More recently a plan was hatched for 4 of us to attend but enroute our number dropped to 3 which meant so re shuffling and re prioritising.
We (PPE and Crash 2079) held our own event, Grumpy Over Millicent or better known in our vocabulary as GOM amongst other TLA’s of the same acronym. It was great to meet some of the locals.
Many an adventure was had with TOTTs of various types. The weather left a bit to be desired with fleeting bursts of sun but mostly wind, over cast and plenty of rain but we still managed to hoist poles and ladders and climb trees.
Today was a bit more of a road trip despite the rain. This was targeted because of its age. Nice wind swept coastal views
We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.

GOMs do Millicent - Day 3
After our plans to attend the Mega were cancelled by COVID, the stars finally aligned and saw **bella at waggy**, **Purplepeopleater** and myself jetting off early on Friday morning. With such a variety of targets on our list, we needed to bring an assortment of TOTTs via oversize baggage.
Today was all about mopping up as many of the remaining caches on our hit list as we could, including visiting some 2001 caches and a few new LGAs. We travelled as far south as Port MacDonnell and returned via Mount Gambier and Penola. Lots of driving and quite a bit of rain on and off.
Gotta love an old school cache in a great location!!!

Great but it is not blue I would recommend it if you are in the area it has a red lid hint it is not on the beach
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
Today is Easter Sunday the weather started out quite nice the fog was gone and the sky was cloudy. We knew this was going to change so we went out for a walk to the rocks. Amazing highlight of the day.
After that we went back to camp for bacon and egg brunch and as expected the rain came. We hunted a little more along the coast and then back to camp for hot cross buns.
Out for the afternoon to do a loop of caches and a walk at Nene Valley our Google maps called it neigh neigh valley which quite entertained me.
The bleak weather today meant no more snake encounters. Hoorah.
Back to camp for G&Ts and nibbles night what a fun way to spend Easter
Had no idea this golden oldie was here fabulous to find a cache more than 20 years old thanks for keeping this oldie alive. TFTC Team Geocoopers

After a short search with a failing GPS the cache was soon in hand then we could check out the views. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.
Bunadoorian and I were on a mission this morning to come and pick this one up as it was one of the old ones and I needed the date placed. We enjoyed the drive to here from Beachport. Once we arrived we soon found the cache and returned it before a family of muggles arrived after a walk up from the camping area. I enjoy watching the waves and ocean but today we also got to see seals on the rock and swimming in the water. TFTC and for bringing us here Team GeoCoopers
Windy afternoon find. Great spot to see seals and learn about the migratory shore birds.
We camped here for five nights - such a beautiful location. TFTC Team GeoCoopers!
A lovely view from the light house and we found the Admella information very interesting. This was a great cache to find with children. Thanks for the cache.
A lovely day out with family & friends. We went into the sand dunes. It was fun.
Found with Ms5ltr, Zander_25, scramping, hevwalker, TT016, Rolly Girls and The Teddies on a wonderful day out together, caching and dune climbing. TFTC it was a fun day.

Another of the old caches we had targeted during our time in South Australia. You dont find April 2001 caches often, so it was great to visit this spot

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"
The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark
We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.
Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.
In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

Another oldie that was high on our must find list. The weather here was absolutely pitiful but we were not going to be beaten. We drove out to GZ and started out search in the rain. We looked for what felt like ages but was probably only a few minutes before we snagged this one.
Thanks TeamGeoCoopers
The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.
Thanks TeamGeoCoopers
