A quick visit today to sign off on some of my local caches. Log found but impossible to sign the surface due to the condition of the log. TFTC
Lovely winter's day for a few caches in the area. But wasn't able to find this one today.
I was spending the afternoon caching with and_me. This was our penance and reward would be fish and chips at the end.Another quick find. TFTC.
I journeyed from Melbourne's CBD to this region for a power trail walk. The weather was pleasant in the morning, but it transitioned into a rainy day around noon. It was a rewarding geocaching excursion that allowed me to appreciate the natural surroundings and rural landscapes immensely.37th cache of today, Nice hide. TFTC
This one took a little while, but having found some similar from CO elsewhere eventually got hands on it, tftc
Enjoying a weekend geocaching with muggle sister after dropping muggle daughter off at diabetes camp in Warburton. Cache in good order. Tftc.
With a lovely mid-week day forecast, what better to do than go caching. The last time I was here, there was a couple sitting at GZ, so I had to keep on walking right past. Today there were no such problems, so it then became an easy find.My thanks to tackle_head for the cache.
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. Day 13/74, Saturday. It was a hot day today (at least on the Finnish standards), the temperature was 34 degrees. Well, we have had similar temperatures in Finland lately, only that they were on the minus side of the Celsius meter. Today I took a train to Altona and spent a lovely day there geocaching. I walked a lot and and found really nice geocaches. Another quick find. Thank you for the cache, and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! Tonight was my third evening in as many weeks on the bike searching out the caches in this area. I'm not sure how many people rest here given the midges and the mozzies, and the somewhat pungent aroma of the creek. A nice quick find of a not too common cache type. The log sheet seems to have deteriorated, but I managed to made my mark. TFTC tackle_head
Checked under, over and the ground around (after precious log said it had fallen off) but if it's there not my time to find it
Went to this big park area to get some more of these caches while I'm in Melbourne again. All were fairly easy and I had no DNFs. The caches were all quite similar with only a few different types. This one had fallen off but I was happy to see it was different to all the others I saw today.Tftc
Did not find this one, me and Ski_12345 are on a schedule of if we don't find within a couple minutes we keep marching on to Westona station TFTC anyway )
Unfortunately, there were a couple of muggles sitting here, so I had to leave it and move on.
A day off work and with SpursNorth in company, today was a perfect opportunity to add more smilies to the map around Altona Meadows and Laverton. There was the occasional drizzly shower which kept the muggles away but on the whole, it was a nice winter's day for caching. Overall, 22 finds with just 1 DNF which I consider a success.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache.
Out for the day with my brother,Ketchthor. A few showers hear and there which made it muggle free. Some very good spots we found threw out the day. TFTC everyone

Thank you tackle_head for placing and maintaining Laverton Creek Trail for us to find today.

DNF for me here. Read a few previous logs and then set about searching in the grass, but alas it just wasn't to be.
Thanks anyway tackle_head.

Another nice view, and pretty easy to spot given the last couple caches. Still a good spot

Let me tell you a whale of a tale,
The details from which you shouldn't quail,
We travelled far - up hill and down dale,
To finally find... Laverton Creek Trail!
Wait... weren't we on it from the start?
Thanks heaps for the cache, Tackle Head!

Found the cache sadly hanging out in the grass - replaced a log sheet but the cache holder probably needs some attention too as exposure to the elements have made it wrinkly and lost its magnetic personality
A marvellous day of caching in Truganina Park and adjacent areas. Thank you tackle head for so many caches, The mosquitos had a feast! I had to come back to get this one when I realized why I couldn't find it.
Second time lucky. Thankyou to the fellow geocacher that gave me a helpful hint. Was expecting a similar container like all the other ones near this trail. Was completely different
Out today attending the Altona Meadows International caching day event with some friends. Great event, picked up a few caches on our way out.

TFTC, a quick find along the trail. Todays aim is to pick up the remaining caches in the park this side of the water.
A full day of uninterrupted caching in Melbourne, WITH a car this time! The possibilities are overwhelming. I’ve decided to head to the Williamstown/Altona area for a bit of sea air, and cache on foot where I can. Thanks to all the COs for all the great caches I found today.
Just sticking to the east side of the creek today.

Lucky I'd found a similar one recently.
Made the hide a little quicker than needed.
Nice spot to rest and sign the log.

I found this cache today on my Altona Plus Caching Tour in company of Pprass. The second cache of our second walking loop of the day which had 10 caches. Not too long a search here. Thanks from D B-A
Found at 12:35 PM GAFF5 in the company of Rabbitto.
Looking at the wrong spot for a while - interesting that there are "windows" in the fence to see through?
And the mozzies made their first appearance which would plague us from time to time throughout the day including when we did the "Fear" night cache [B)]
Thanks tackle_head.

Out this way today picking up a few random caches that took my fancy.I am pleasantly surprised by this general area which is one I have rarely been to TFTC tackle-head
Found it on the ground near GZ after a search of obvious location. Replaced in better location for next cacher. Really nice spot here, peaceful and quiet even on a sunny Saturday afternoon. TFTC

This was RGSBruce and my second find today while wagging a packing job at home. I think the psychological benefit of finding a few caches and going for a nice little walk far outweighs the deficit of missing a bit of packing time today.

HerIndoorsOutdoors and were supposed to be packing for a trip today, but took a little time out to go for a hunt, which we had planned to do yesterday, but called off because of rain.
As usual, limited time, so our goal was to find Laverton Creek Views to complete the Natural Wonders so we can get on with finding all the Solar System Wonders, starting with this one and the Laverton Creek Foot Bridge, which we had to go back across to get to the geo-chariot.
As for our earlier find, with a cache that hasn't been found for a little while, we were wondering if it was there, but no need for worry today. It took a little longer than it should as we started out looking for the wrong type of hide, but we soon worked it out and had the log signed (over the top of someone else's log as it is sort of full.
The cache is in good condition, but the log is nearing the end of its life .

First time 10min and gave up. This time round spent a bit longer and found it. Maybe this should be a “other”. TFTC! Nice one!
Second attempt at this one. And finally found it. Sneaky. Log is full. I grabbed a photo for future proof if needed.
Nice, haven’t found one of this type before. Found with Tonymess, TFTC
Cheeky, getting down with the snakes. Nice one log is full.

#4320 A day out down south so we could take the geohounds to the dog beach at Altona for some fun. We also met up with Kokowon who we haven't seen since Christmas due to the lockdown. After lunch we then all tackled a bunch of caches in this Reserve on foot.
After realising we were looking in the wrong area on arrival to gz, we moved a few metres away and spotted the likely hide, and bingo! Managed to find a small area on the log to scribe our team names but will need replacing asap. TFTC tackle_head.

Spiffy- and I planned a cache day Sunday but the target area was a little undecided. Mainly because rain was coming. Finally we settled on Altona and the large trad trail. So we loaded the stealth bikes in and headed off. Driving there rain was falling, but it was only 10am and it was due at 3pm. Parked at the skate park and still a few spots of rain but so warm so we headed off. A few caches in I went back to my for rain jackets which I wore for only a few minutes then carried. Ironically arrived home sunburnt.
All caches were eventually found and the CO effort on these was great. We appreciated the work and the effort to place them.
Thanks to tackle_head for the placement and fun.

I have had my eye on this area for a while so today Fleabag- and I brought the bikes over which made it much easier riding around all these trails. I started out cloudy, then it rained lightly for a while so Fleabag- ducked back to the car for raincoats and then of course the rain stopped and it was really sunny. Just as our few hours here ended it went cloudy and rained again. We found all the caches in the park with no DNF's which was awesome...it's been a while since we've done that.
Yes, I found a flat one. I never do that, things are improving.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
