The beginnings of a really great trail. I must return here and do the rest of the trails some time, just so peaceful.Walked down for a quick find.Parked outside the gate so I didnt get closed in.Very quiet today, nobody is about. Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for a clever hide. It had been put back the wrong way so was fairly easy to spot - weve tucked it back the right way. Found with scavenging scout.
Another nifty hide Spotted easily as it was hidden the wrong way round - replaced properly now
Nice location. Coming back to this trail in full. Logged with [GCDroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcdroid).
Completed my daily tasks, so down here for a few caches after work, really nice location and container, appreciate the extra effort bushgold seeker
It's been a long time between visits to Strickland SF ... I think the last time I was here was in pre-COVID times ... but I'm glad I'm back and I very much enjoyed the walk to GZ.
A straightforward find once I was there thanks to the helpful hint. This nicely put together cache is in pretty good nick with just one logbook now. Thanks for placing this cache here for our enjoyment bushgold seeker.

Cache check yesterday. There are 3 old log books in the cache.
The inner container is quite small. I will make a new log book and remove the old ones soon.

Found it. Lovely walk with my little family this afternoon. The kids liked the little waterfall and finding the treasure! Love the camo, you've done a good job with that. Thank you!
HAM AND WAM found cache #2 of the day, loving the camouflage for these two.

Barely managed to dodge the downpours. So many places to check but chose the simpler first and soon had the clever container. Thanks bushgold seeker.
Work. physio, X Rays, Cache Time. What time does the Forest Close? We got locked inside one day, and we were at the gate with 10 minutes left, but someone locked it early. I will take the chance. Got to the top gate, and it was 3:55, sign says 5:00 close. Should make that easy. Off i go. Found the start of the trail easy enough, bit over 200mtr walk. Easy Peasy. Found GZ, had a quick look, noting there is plenty of hidey holes. Found it. TFTC.
The cache is back in original camo.
I have replaced the inner container.
All in good condition and dry.

All in good condition and dry.
I have not been able to find a suitable inner container for the original camo container.
I have replaced original camo with a plastic screw top container but have left the original one next to it until I do find a new waterproof one that will fit inside.
All dry and in reasonable condition.
Please replace with lid up to assist with waterproofing.

I have been unable to find a new waterproof container to place in the camo container. I have put the broken container in a zip lock bag to assist with keeping it dry. Cache not in bad condition. I will replace when I find replacement.
First geocache in years. Nice walking tracks and an excellent state forest that I'll be visiting again. Thank you.
With a lot of rain in recent days I thought it was a good idea to do a cache check.
What I found was the inner waterproof container for the log books had a broken screw on lid.
I will have to find a suitable size container and replace the broken container.
The camo is holding out well.

A reasonably quick find whilst walking around the wonderful Strickland State Forest. I'm loving the creative hides out here! Dropped off a TB
Found on a day hike with Erina High School Masterclass students. Kids were very impressed at the clever design of the case. Thanks to Bushgold seeker.
The camo had seen better days so I made a new bigger and I hope more sturdy one to replace it. Just arrived back from replacing it and all looks good.
Found with shaneo58 doing some around the central Coast/Strickland National Park, coming down from Newcastle/Lake Macquarie in the morning, getting up in the low 20's deg later in the day. Nice walk to get to this cache, well constructed and good hint. This is the 5th cache of 12 for today. Log signed and caches replaced as found. Thanks For The Cache bushgold seeker

An easy walk in and lots of places around GZ to check. Very nicely constructed cache! And is that plumber's tape being used to keep the logbook dry? Awesome! I'm not sure I've seen that before but it's a great idea! TFTC!
Glad to get this as soon mutual sweep had me scratching and I’d just bombed over at the falls.
Having a Beagle show a bit of interest helped- looks like she may be trained up yet!

Really needed one for today’s date so we braved the weather and went for a short walk. Cache found great camo.
Found it, took awhile because we thought it was at the waterfall for some reason! The camo was amazing and we showed everyone photos when we got back
This cache was unfortunately published on a day when the geocaching website had gone into partial meltdown so notification emails weren't going out, and I only spotted it just recently when looking for something else. Anyway, better late than never!
With the weather improving this afternoon and at a bit of a loose end, I decided to drive up to the forest for an enjoyable walk out along the trail to GZ. The excellent camo had me fooled the first time I looked at it and it was only when I came back for a closer look that I made the find. I had the coordinates initially pretty much spot on but they went wandering around quite a bit under the tree canopy so I wouldn't worry about trying to get them any more accurate as you'll just end up chasing your tail.
After signing the log and returning everything as found, I made the detour from the bridge out along the side trail to the waterfall. Not much water flowing today unfortunately, I'll have to make a mental note to come back for another look after some decent rain.
Many thanks for this enjoyable hide; with the nice bushwalk, well-made camo and the picturesque waterfall it gets an FP from me.

Joined the_garbageman for this one after we finished Somersby falls. I initially parked in the wrong spot but after realising my mistake it was a nice walk to GZ , where the_garbageman quickly made the find. Thanks for the cache bushgold seeker tnln replaced as found sl
A quick find in the first place I looked after a short walk (I needed an easy one after Somersby Falls). My phone said 2m and my GPS settled after initially reading 20m but dropped to 1m. Can’t do better than that in this sort of bush.
A fun container. Thanks for the effort. TNLN TFTC

I did not receive a notification for this cache but found the listing by accident. The drive in was made more difficult by Telstra doing some work, council clearing the side of the road and other roadworks blocking off the lower carpark, but we had no trouble finding the access point. This is a very nice track and it did not take long to reach the vicinity of GZ. I did follow my GPS briefly off track but returned given the cache ratings, and found the cache about 13m before GZ. The bush is quite dry given the previous rain but wet enough for four leeches to find MrsFish, although not discovered until much later as they began to itch. We did meet two passing bushwalkers who had walked up from the arboretum with several more from their club to arrive much later, probably a longer walk worth doing someday. Thanks bushgold seeker for a good cache with top camo in a beautiful location, we did like it (but not the leeches).
I will return to GZ tomorrow and check the co-ords. I hope my GPSr is still accurate.
I visited the site yesterday and carried out multiple waypoint averagings. Things looked pretty good, 5 or 6 meters at cache location. The cache was in good condition. It did take some time for the GPSr to settle. One thing I did notice was that on leaving the cache my recorded track going in and on the way out did not match until I was at the small bridge. I will investigate further.
Today I returned and did some tests. Using an etrex10 I had 9 GPS sats and 7 GLONASS sats with a clear sky. At GZ the distance was 3 meters. The Geocaching app on my iPad was 8 meters.
Very happy with the result.
