I journeyed from Melbourne's CBD to this region for a power trail walk. The weather was pleasant in the morning, but it transitioned into a rainy day around noon. It was a rewarding geocaching excursion that allowed me to appreciate the natural surroundings and rural landscapes immensely.12 th cache of today, Nice hide. TFTC
We were heading off to Geelong to meet Honeysucker this afternoon, we decided to leave a little earlier and grab a few adventure labs and anything else that came up nearby. We were leaving the park after completing the ad lab stage here and weren't going to drive passed this one without having a look.Like the previous finder we found the cache on the ground so we added our initials to the log and replaced it in a spot hopefully it will stay,Thanks for a few enjoyable caches.
Found cache on the ground out in the open, so replaced it where I think it was meant to be. TFTC

I couldn't find it as there aren't too many places to search. Maybe next time. 20 for 28 today...
29 February 2024 @ 2:11pmCaching buddy:MummacarolNice little hide found rather quickly.Thank you tackle_head for placing and maintaining this cache. I've enjoyed finding it.Tftc
Lovely 29th February... great day for finding caches, with partner Yin Yang...Tftc
Been away from Geocaching for a while and thought I would come back. Quick and easy find. My GPS had me barking up the wrong tree initially. TFTC.
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. Day 20/74, Saturday. It was pretty hot day today but I headed to lovely Altona, once again. Another day with a lot of walking. What would be a better way to spend a day off than walking and geocaching! Coordinates are perhaps a bit off here, but a quick find anyway. Thank you for the cache, and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! Logged with [GCDroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcdroid).
#11795 last day in Australia . Last chance fir a few caches before spending the afternoon with my friend before heading to the airport. Quick spot here
In Victoria on a long weekend from Brisbane. Spent a lovely long weekend in Hepburn Springs for a signature family event. The wife wanted to go to the tennis so I hooked her up with family and off on a caching adventure I went. Today is all about Jasmer cache gaps and getting to the 8000 mark.Made my way to ground zero after safely parking the car.Spied the cache quickly and avoided the muggles to lay hands on the log ready for signing.Replaced it safely and off on the next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for placing and maintaining this cache.Cheers
5th find if the day with Willywombat27 on our little day out from Melbourne.Quick, easy find.
Some of iTEEM are back in the area for work, so T headed out in the evening to search out a few caches, equipped with bike and headlight. I had to wait for a carload of local yobbos to pass by before searching for this one. The location was a little off by my reckoning, but widening the search soon had the home made container in hand. All in good dry condition. TFTC tackle_head
We had an afternoon to while away in the area as we waited to attend a gig that Ms frilk was playing in the evening. We opted to wander and cache in the glorious Melbourne summer sunshine.A quick park 'n' grab. TFTC.
Tried to keep an eye out for the real butterfly but couldn't see any on this windy summer's day. TFTC
Found this after widening the search but alas no butterflies this time
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
Out for the day caching around Altona Meadows with my 'new to the game' geobrother SpursNorth. A cloudy day with rain here and there which made for muggle free fun. I've had my eye on this series for a couple of years so it was great to finally complete most of it with just a couple of DNFs. Thanks tackle_head for placing and maintaining a variety of hides and adding to the game board.
Spent a lovely winter's long weekend Monday geocaching in the park.
A great series of caches...well done!!!
I really enjoyed the trip around the park.....TFTC
The coordinates are a bit off on this one...I soon found it on the next one to where the gps took me.

Had to wait here for awhile, admiring butterflies, and avoiding the muggles. Tftc
Couldn’t help myself and stopped here on the way out. Got a bit wet as it started raining!
Out with KmanNZ today it was a fantastic spot to go caching and the weather was good not to hot or cold. TFTC
Last one for the day. A fun few hours in an area that looks a lot better then when it did when I lived in the area back in 90's. Some great caches, neat locations and views...and would no doubt be good a good day weather wise...not that today was too bad.
Thanks again tackle_head...hope to get back again soon....

Another Wednesday bike-prowl around Wyndham and Hobsons Bay. Today's focus were a couple of Ad Labs, with the intent of hitting up a few more in Williamstown. However...
Haven't I been here before?
Wasn't that a cache I did last time?
Wait. Isn't that...
Yep! 63 km of bike riding for two Ad Labs ended up covering almost exactly the same territory as *four* previous excursions.
But that gave me the chance to have a look at a couple of DNFs along the way. I had no luck with one close by cache SueHut and I agonised over months ago, but *this* one was a win.
Another Tackle Head DNF converted to a smiley!
Thanks heaps TH!

GPS out by 10 meters ended up spying the cache from a distance, this is my last find for the afternoon, time to put the feet up.
Out today walking around Truganina Park. I looked at the obvious object that my GPS pointed to but failed to find anything. In the end I extended my search and found it about 9 metres away from where my GPS said GZ should be. I note from previous logs that it may have been put back in a different spot. Alternatively, my GPS could be out for the first time today - all other co-ords have been pretty much spot on.
My thanks for the cache, tackle_head.

Continuing the quest for SideTracked Caches, with nirgalagrin.
A caching trip in the west after the mid-week event and CITO this morning in Coburg.
Now we're letting the AdLab app guide us to a few more hides out this way.
Found after our walk to the top!
This really is my last find for the day.
Thanks for the caches tackle_head.

Not sure where this was supposed to be but, as we found it lying on the ground, we replaced it as best we could.

A marvellous day of caching in Truganina Park and adjacent areas. Thank you tackle head for so many caches, The mosquitos had a feast! This one needs to be given a decent hanging spot. I would say the old one has broken off.
Cache was found on the ground!! From the looks of the cache I assume it's supposed to be hanging somewhere. Looks to have some recent pruning here.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Like a few other logs, I thought I had come across the remains of a cache that looked broken and was about to put down a note requiring maintenance, when I spotted the actual cache . Clever
Found with georocks101. We got a bit distracted by something that looked like the remains of a cache but then we found the actual cache so we were scratching our heads. The Altona Skipper Butterfly is a special creature like the Golden Sun Moth. I hope there will be increasing protection of their habitats. Thanks tackle head
Leaving the event, CJDenno and I realised this would be a quick park and grab. Crank1 and CJDenno made the find here and we quickly added our names on the log and we departed GZ. The cache, container and log are in excellent condition.

Having attended a nearby event on the Great Victorian Cache Crawl, PrezDough and I were heading to the next host of this “event series” and this cache was a relatively easy one to grab since we could hunt for it so close to our means of transportation.
We soon had it inked with our monikers and we were back on our journey.
The cache, container and log are in excellent condition.
I visited 3 TB.

A cache event crawl what an ingenious idea if I do say so myself. Seeing this day pop up I was more than excited to play a role, in a segment of it. With plans with Brain and Stemicmitsar to do the run from Cowes to Altona we were keen. What we didn't know was how under the pump we would be just trying to get to the events in time. All in all it was a great experience that I was glad to take part in. Thanks for being a part of a wonderful day out.

After attending the nearby event at the top of the hill, Chook took herself off for a walk around this lovely park, via some of the many caches here of course. Then on the way out we found this cache - last one before we leave the area. No rare butterflies spotted today - just lots and lots of netballers further up the road. TFTC tackle_head.
It's International Geocaching Day once again and this year the fine folks at GVI have managed to whip up a cache crawl in what seems like no time at all!
Previously scheduled arrangements meant I couldn't attend the first few events of the day, but I joined buhfuhguh and SteMicMitSar at Devil Bend to continue around to Altona where we decided to disembark the party train to pick up some local hides instead for the remainder of the evening.
We had plenty of fun all afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed this new caching experience!
The other two were getting themselves ready to head off while I continued on to this trad on the side of the road.
There weren't too many spots to check, and with the cache having just been replaced, I was lucky to encounter this rare specimen!
Thanks to tackle_head for this hide!

After the event and stopping and finding your cache with pwala tackle_head, thank you so much for placing it.
Found with Crank1 during crawl cache day. tackle_head, thank you so much for placing it and highlighting this area.
The "I'm Not Wasting This Amazing Day Staying Home" Adventure #44
This is it! The last one before SueHut and I get back to the car park. And...
It's a bust. We could not see anything. Not a cracker that suggested a cache.
Failing light and cache fatigue may definitely be factors, but that doesn't mitigate a DNF.
My final scoreboard for the day: 38 finds from 44 caches.
Thanks heaps, Tackle Head.

Out and about with Omegamaqn1971 for another one of our catch ups, today we decided to head over to the Western Waste lands and find a few of the caches on offer, weather was perfect and we enjoyed visiting several locations, pity about the smell, it must have been low tide.
This is one of the caches found today.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache.

Out with Rebel Acts far from home to put some smiles on the map.
Great location for a walk and a cache or two, found after a short search. Love the camo.
Cheers tackle_head.

I was a bit worried when waking to this one that it wouldn’t be there due to construction works but it is! Easily found but had to stand on tippy toes! The challenge for me was then how to get it back in! I had to be inventive and hopefully what I left will help others if they are short!
I found this cache today on my Altona Plus Caching Tour in company of Pprass. A park and grab here. They really are proud of this butterfly with three large signs dedicated to it that we saw today. Thanks from D B-A
Found at 2:22 PM GAFF1 in the company of Rabbitto.
A bit high for a T1.5 and then a beautiful breeze wafted past to cool us down a bit.
Thanks tackle_head.

Great work on this container, didn't see the butterfly either day I was here though
I attempted to find this cache a couple of years ago but it was missing. I returned today and there it was. Great container. Nice to turn blue into yellow.

I had to run an errand in Altona today and took the opportunity to pick up some caches in a new area on the other side of town from home. I targeted a few of these caches as it looked like it would be a nice walk. It was indeed a lovely walk. TFTC tackle_head.
Out on a cold and wet autumn day. Picking up some rocks to make some of our own caches! Found this one on the way. TFTC!
Once we found the right place we soon had the log signed and replaced. Luckily we have a tott in the car!! Tftc
