After booking into our accomodation for the night, we found a few caches in and around Goulburn to mark our visit. We are always on the lookout for sidetracked caches and were glad to find this one. The gatehouse across the way was an added bonus to our find. SL at 6pm Left: gumnut pathtag. #11,411 TFTC GLISS! As we make our way home to Victoria after a few days visiting Mr Harrowangs muggle sister in the Maitland area.
Today we arrived into Goulburn & have settled into the caravan park for the next few days. This was the closest find to where we are stayingWe found a few caches in the town area before heading out to do some shoppingA nice way to visit the town & area is by following the geocaching trailThanks GLISS! for hiding this cache.
We were heading to Canberra for our second Mega in as many months, and when you are driving a long way, it is wise to break up your drive to prevent driver fatigue. With this in mind, we stopped quite a bit on the journey to find a good number of caches and endeavoured to get closer to qualifying for more Challenge caches. We will use some relatively generic logs with the sheer number of logs we need to complete after the Mega. We are tired and have insufficient brain power to do much more than that.We would like to thank all the cache owners for placing the caches for us to find, and unless otherwise noted, we found all caches in excellent condition.Thank you, GLISS!, for this Traditional cache.
A nice find by bunadoorian this morning. I enjoy finding the SideTracked caches. TFTC and for bringing us here GLISS!
A nice find for our first of the morning. An easy find after reading the hint and the cache was found in good condition. TFTC.
A quick find today, in the company of a great many bunnies. Thanks for the cache GLISS!
Travelling north and stopping in Goulburn for the night. A short walk before bed and another cache was found. Thanks!
Cache 10772 on 27 Nov 2023. Up in Goulburn for the day and using some spare time to grab a few easy local caches! Last time I concentrated on multis, today is all about the trads! And maybe some ALs ! Quick find, cache and log in good condition. Thanks GLISS! for the cache and the fun!
Homeward bound after a quick drive to the western Riverina to fill in the last 4 blank spots on my NSW counties map. Naturally enough, I'm doing a few caches and ALs as I head home, including the two SideTracked caches in Goulburn. With a 3 hr drive still ahead of me, I definitely won't get sidetracked anymore. Thanks for placing this cache GLISS!
Found during a day of geocaching in the area while returning from QOGM in Longreach.
One last one for the day before we leave Goulburn to travel home to Shepparton tomorrow.Thank you for placing this SideTracked cache. It has been a new genre to add to the itineraries of icybeetas and myself.
Found this one without any problems. The railway house nearby is magnificent as was the beautiful sky over Goulburn today.
Decided to grab a few caches before breakfast as I chip away at my Goulburn map. TFTC

Nice quick find. It's like a rail track graveyard.

Today we had to start heading towards home with ilook4geo but thought we would have enough time to allow ourselves to get SideTracked along the way. This was one of the stations we visited and where we successfully found another cache in this series. We visited places where we have not been before and enjoyed the journey along the way. Thank you to GLISS! for placing this cache.
We are enjoying the SideTracked series and decided to look for a few more today while heading back home with goingplaces2. Cache was found, log was signed. Job done. TFTC.
Found on a 50-cache day-trip to Goulburn for GGGT events #57 and #58. Pulled up nearby and then walked through the grass for a quick find. Awesome views of the train tracks, the Sydney-bound train came past as I was leaving. The container is unfortunately cracked though and needs replacing. But it's great to nab another SideTracked cache. TFTC GLISS!!
A straightforward find here today, thanks GLISS! Log a little damp but able to be signed ok.
We've had some great days in Goulburn and a few mixed ones with showers. Mornings are cold but it often improves during the day.
The caching has been excellent though with most hides in good order and a variety of types and hides with some puzzles we have been able to solve pre arrival. We have enjoyed quite a number of multis that have been straightforward and that we have had success with.
We have now completed 4 of the 5 Adventure Labs but remain stuck on one!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache GLISS!.

Quick find but cache was in the open and container open. Surprisingly dry given the recent rain but has obviously been wet at some stage and a bit snail bitten. But was able to sign. TFTC!
Took a walk after dinner to grab this cache and there was just enough light to make a safe find. And then came a train - always makes a Sidetracked feel real. I see that the opening year of the nearby bridge was the same as the closing year of the station - coincidence?
In Goulburn for the day picking up some Multis. This one was the start of the day. Great to cross of another side tracked hide. Boy was it a very hot day. There is so much grass around, but that is to be expected with the rain we have had.

A few days caching in the ACT and surrounds with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats, another trip away like countless others that we have done before. We got the dates, we did the planning, we worked out a route. But there was one thing that we could not plan for; the weather.
The caches were excellent. The company faultless. The weather; atrocious. Rain, rain, rain. And then more rain. On several occassions we had to change our intended route, abandon plans, and even came home a day early. Alas, the rain had been predicated, but we had hoped it would stay away.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

Well post-COVID restrictions (in 2021!), The Rats, Hoojar, Wilbert67 and I teamed up for an assault on the areas surrounding Canberra. Problem was the weather had other ideas so we ended up with a day in Canberra and chipping away at other caches around the edges, and came home a bit wet a day early.
Many great puzzles and hides on this trip.

In town with K8TYBEE to say goodbye to a good friend. Pulled in here on our way back home to find a cache and shake some of the sadness of the day. Nice fast find at GZ. Thanks for another sidetracked!

I was taking a break from driving. I parked and went for a short walk and decided to go for this one. Once at GZ I started my search and soon spotted the hide. Log stamped and all returned and I spent a moment looking around before heading back to the car. I walked 2km. TFTC.

Catching up with missed logs from our recent holiday.
We had the car booked in for a bit of mechanical work in Goulburn where we met up with alansee who very kindly offered to chauffeur us around on a less than perfect day for caching.
As it turned out this was the first of this series that we did for this trip but as it turns out it is the last we have logged. This one was found quickly and our name was added to the log before we returned it as we had found it.
Thanks GLISS! for the cache.

The train didn't stop as we waited across from the North Goulburn station, so we found a cache instead. Tftc
A little bit of rain didn't dampen our geocaching raid on Goulburn. Finalf29 and I spent a wonderful afternoon completing an Adventure Lab & Bonus, three multis, grabbing various trads along the way and stopping for a bite to eat at "Curry In A Hurry"... we will definitely be back for more caches and curry
Loved the old station house across the tracks. Thanks

Woohoo. Found our second cache. Thanks for an easy one for the kids. Saw lots of bunnies too.
Today, Sui_001 and I headed out to Goulburn to clean up the caches in the area. We spent a total of almost 9 hours caching and I enjoyed every minute of it. Sui_001 is one funny guy.
There were some highlights for the day included 10 Lab caches plus 2 bonuses, 1 multi cache, and about 19 Trads for me and about 29 Trads for Sui_001 as we did some caches that I had done before. Not sure exactly how far we drove but it was many hundreds of kilometers. I love geocaching so much and the friends I have made along the way make it all worthwhile. I really enjoyed Loci612 Adventure Lab Cache that was a tour of all the old cemetery's in Goulburn. The bonus cache was great also as it had about 15 trackables in it and as we all know, I love trackables plus it was an ammo can.
Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with more than 40 caches today alone it gets hard to write a different one for each cache. Most caches were found in good order except for two that were missing (replaced for the owners), 1 that was broken and 2 that had very wet logbooks.
I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it.
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
***** I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges Geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of today, my average was less than 160 words per log, which seems close to the 200-word target. However, given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 200 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 7500 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 160 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated. *****

Spent a couple of days on the road doing a pre-lockdown pandemic caching run through the central tablelands of NSW. With cold nights and beautiful days I headed for the TRLT (The Road Less Travelled) and the scattering of caches in the towns nearby.
The recent wet weather made the roads slippery at times and many of the caches had taken on some level of water... Thanks to all the CO's for your hides.

Found easily, all good here. Signed the log in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found. Thanks for bringing us here.
**The Day**
OCW *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet*. An unexpected trip to Goulburn for a job interview. I have cached out Goulburn except for a couple of new ones, but I was unable to leave town due to time constraints so I had to find something to do in town. Today I was not feeling very chipper after an interview at home felt like it didn't go so well, and then having another this afternoon brought on some anxiety, things were in a dither and just not panning out. Nevertheless, I managed to find a couple of caches and participate in the local Adventure Lab. At least this afternoons interview went way better. All up, considering, it wasn't too bad a day afterall.
10 = 4 0 1 [8)] not attempted; 5 Labs.

Day out in Goulburn to find caches. Found about 50 caches for the day. Caches were quickly found and replaced. Signed all. Thanks for all the caches.
Good to see some of the old railway relics including the Gatehouse. Also good to have somewhere safe to park. TFTC
Today was to be my final 'work from home' shift, but I decided to take the day off and head towards Goulburn, collecting caches along the way.
Had to take a slightly circuitous route to this one to ensure that I approached from the correct side of Sydney Road, but once at gz it was a straight forward find.
TFTC, GLISS!
