After spending the night in town and dining out at the local pub it was time to get out and do colorectal the local area. I am working on a local challenge at home that requires cache numbers in Local government areas and so I need another 80 or so in the Gympie area. This area is rich with caches so off I go. Arriving at ground zero I found a safe place to park the geowagon and off I go. I quickly found ground zero and located the cache. After extracting the log and making my mark I quickly returned to the geo wagon in search of my next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers

Day out with Peppa and TMZ59 caching in and around Kilkivan to get our numbers up to maybe reach a milestone at the MEGA.
Found quickly SL then returned as found. Dry cache.

Found on 4 April 2022. TFTC, PB1973.

04-Apr-22
A friend mentioned making the Townsville Mega a milestone cache… I hadn’t even thought about it, but what’s a couple of hundred caches between friends…Hence the reason TMZ59, Patrol14 and I are hitting Kilkivan and surrounds…

Thanks to all the recent wet weather, the grass and weeds are easily chest height, if not higher…. It only took a little wading to find out first dry cache in the area…

TMZ59 took some delight from Patrol14’s reaction when the car took the direct route back to road…

Tftc…

Knocking up the numbers doesn't hurt either! Surprised

Hi there PB1973.

We found your cache **"Cattle Yards"** today. (This makes our find count 25603).

Back to start some more cache trails from Kilkivan. Today's plan was to head north up Running Creek Road and then continue on to Brooweena - Woolooga Road

It was a really nice drive today, made even better by not having to wade through long grass to find the caches. Our tally today was 44 caches & 0 DNF's.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Either a smiley badge or a gold coin

Thank you for adding to our adventure.

Regards

Ian & Penny

In town this morning for coffee and then decided to head out along this road for a country drive. Good coords and most caches were found easily enough and once the log was signed all was returned as found.

After an early morning sunrise event it was a drive up to Kilkivan for a weekend event. This is my first event of this type so I am not sure what to expect but I’ve been told they are fun and educational, ok. Today’s kick off was 10am so this gave me a few hours to drive up and get a little caching in before the event started for me.

At the event I teamed up with Willis007 and Ms maddy (who drove) to spend the afternoon collecting a few caches and a few first to finds. Armed with a list and some new coordinates we set off for the afternoon of caching. We had a plan of attack in mind and it turned out to be a good afternoon of caching with a variety of cache sizes, hides and ratings; thank you to the CO’s for the placements of these. Sorry for the generic post for this lot but we did approximately 90 caches around the area.

There were no DNF’s and all caches were found in good order and in close proximity to the given coordinates and or hints. I enjoyed today's caching, thank you.

In Kilkivan for the New Year event, a great opportunity to catch up with caching buddies and meet some new faces.
After setting up at the showgrounds CHAMAD and myself jumped into Ms Maddy's super comfy car and headed out to find some newly published caches along with some tried and true oldies.
A great day spent out and about, enjoying the beautiful country side.
The cache was quickly spotted, log signed and all replaced as found.
Thanks PB1973 for the cache.

I found your cache with my Dad, Oddiewan and most of the time, Semik. I am way behind on logging so learned how to use templates so I can catch up. I found this cache on my Xmas 2019 trip to Queensland however it didn't log automatically from my GPS when I synced it so I am logging it this way.

Geocaching with my main squeeze, Oddiewan, my best friend, Moneydork and Oddiewan's sons BitternA4 and occassionally Flash_Cat (he bowed out about halfway, but I didn't mark where we took him back to camp) Oddiewan was on a mission and achieved his 400th and 500th finds on this caching trip. I was happy just to see his excitement of reaching his next milestone.

Visiting Kilkivan for the annual Cache-up event. Sweet-Sour kindly offered to chauffeur me around for the day. Who was I to refuse? After finding a nearby cache, we took a pleasant stroll to this one. My caching buddy had previously found this cache, so I was left to search for this one on my own. The cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC

A big day out around the Kilikvan area has been on the cards for a while to tidy up many of the smilies left behind after the last catch-up.

Co-ords were excellent and containers generally in great shape, making for a good day of searching. Just needed to look out for the occasional stubborn bovine Big Grin. Looking forward to the next catch-up event.

---

Log signed at 06:55 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie and bringing us here **PB1973**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

TFTC. Day 4 of our escape from Bundaberg for a caching exploration around Goomeri and Kilkivan. After our efforts yesterday there did not appear to be too many more caches in the immediate area. We decided to take a run up Running Creek Road. We input the furthest cache along the road, but the geo-vehicle took us on a Cook’s tour out to Woolooga. Ah well! We took the opportunity and cached the loop back to Kilkivan. Should have double checked the map. We managed to get back to Kilkivan before noon, hitched up the car and headed back toward Maryborough. Again thanks to the COs for making our exploration more interesting.

Found while staying in the kilkivan area for about a week before heading for the big smoke down south. Having noticed that there was a lot of new caches placed in the area I set about converting some of them to smileys. This is of of the many I have found so far. All were easy find with no maintenance issues. TFTC

Whilst at the Kilkivan the opportunity was there to find 14 new hides. I also hid 18 for the event. I love driving in country areas and especially on country roads be they dirt or gravel. Come to QOGM 2019 in Blackall on the first weekend in October if you would like to drive on country remote roads. Arrived close to GZ and after a short walk soon had the cache in hand. All good here. Didn't put this one on our list last night as it was only released today. Luckily M spotted it as he was looking at his map so at least we didn't bypass it. This was the first hide on this route where we saw "harmless" written on the geocache - lol, I take it that is in response to the recent problem in the States where the police exploded a geocache looking like a bomb!
