Out and about again, left Perth on a trip to USA and Canada. We stop briefly at Sydney and Auckland (New Zealand). Caching time is limited so trying to get as many as muggle family will allow without a mutiny on my hands. Came here as it was near the virtual - which I need to get my numbers up.This cache is find number - 16362.Thanks to Hillster for the caches I have found.

Havent been out for awhile so today was the day. A short drive in the geomobile with a detour past subway led us to this hilltop. Rolls consumed, rubbish bined and cache duties complete. Sprawling massive suburb here and a massive fig tree. Tftc

#7788We needed something to do today, and we had a lot random missing LGAs in lower Sydney, so a trip down for a CITO and some LGA hunting sounded good, so that is what we did today! end of copy paste Nice quick find while grabbing the virt nearby. TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Hillster

#7788We spent the day cruising across some Sydney extremes, with the main objective of filling in our LGA map for the city, still chipping away at some challenges and other goals. We got 8/11 LGAs we needed, we just ran out of time and daylight. We spend most of the day in the car, seemingly at red lights too, and after starting in Newcastle at 0500, then a CITO at 0830, are exhausted. 20 caches including the CITO, 2 trigs, 1 DNF and those 8 new LGA's, all in perfect cool caching conditions too - a top day really.Camden LGA done! TFTC!I trusted the hint and sent the hands into the unknown, they returned with the little cache....

What a beautiful tree, I'm glad they preserved this. I used to go past here everyday before the developments started and if you dropped me here without context i wouldn't recognise it.

This is Emerald Hills' answer to the Sycamore Gap Tree and this one is still standing. It's a commanding location for the old lady. The park was quiet and the good hint was appreciated but we still did more antics than necessary before we located the cache. Well done on your first cache placement, it's a perfect spot. TFTC Hillster.

Another blue face. Doing it solo can be a tough gig. Boxing Day hardly anyone around. Plenty of time to feel around as advised even to clamber around underneath without arousing attention. Sighted along every runner, inspected every cross beam. Unless the camo was extremely clever (see pic it even moves!) all I got for my trouble was frustration. Thanks for putting it there spent a bit of time in this spot in my Muggle days, so was really focussed on cache today

We are on a short (three day) caching holiday in and around Camden, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Poplar Tourist Park in Elderslie. Hoping to collect some previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches, complete some Adventure Labs, and find as many different cache icon types as we can to go towards this month’s "Wheel of Challenges" souvenir chase. The homeward journey will be via Galston, where we have pre-booked tickets for the Sunday running of the Hornsby Model Engineers Galston Valley Model Railway. Photos will be uploaded to some (most) logs on our return to home base.

Today (day 1) we travelled out to Camden, going via the A3 Arterial and M5 Motorway, then took a short diversion along Bringelly Road for a Letterbox cache and a SideTracked cache, before following Camden Valley Way down to Camden. Stopped for some caches along Camden Valley Way, including a Virtual cache, before arriving at our accommodation in Elderslie. After checking in at the caravan park we drove into town and did a loop walk around the 2.3 kilometre Miss Llewella Davies Pioneer Walkway. This was the 5th of 22 finds for the day (day 1), and 5th find of the holiday.

After doing the Virtual cache this co-located Traditional cache was next. Clambered around & under the structure and eventually spotted the hide and had CIH. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. The huge old fig tree is magnificent, and so are the views. TFTC Hillster.

Tricky but managed to find it via slow process of elimination. Beautiful old tree and I'm glad it's been preserved despite the incredible pace of development nearby. TFTC!

I almost took my photo for the virtual and turned around, but decided I was halfway here so I better come and get my name in this cache too! Big Grin

Good to come up and close with this amazing tree. Appreciate the hint as well, I honestly think I would of given up and DNF'd this cache otherwise, as it is a very sneaky hide!

Thanks Hillster, what a location! This one won't go missing either!

Tumut to Sydney. As we stepped beneath the shade of the giant fig tree, we were greeted by a cool, tranquil oasis. The gentle rustling of leaves whispered secrets of the past, as if the tree held wisdom accumulated over the centuries. We felt a deep connection to nature, surrounded by the tree's energy and the harmonious symphony of chirping birds and buzzing insects. A quick find! Thanks for the cache Hillster.

Lovely little walk up to the tree. Heckin windy! But worth it for the view. Started where the GPS had me but it didn’t feel very accessible so I tried the other side and bosh! Very quickly had CIH. Might have squealed at the adorably tiny pencil. TFTC

Well today is a stinking hot day but I see I'm not the only cacher here today.
I found this early this morning but not wanting to waste time I'm doing my logs in the air con at home.
I enjoyed the view up here and the tree and then got down to the cache search.
Now I'm vertically challenged and with that goes short arms so of course I could not feel anything as suggested in the hint, but after some manoeuvring around I could see it!
That made retrieval easier.

Did some weeding around the spot so future hunters may not have as many farmer's friends as I did in my search!

I'd considered this cache when I was in the neighbourhood before, but it was dark and wet and I wasn't sure what kind of park it was, so I left it for another day. And today was that day!

Turns out the park is beautifully maintained and I needn't have worried about slogging through wet knee-high grass; there are wide and smooth concrete paths winding through and there were quite a few couples and families enjoying the view or a stroll, even though I arrived at dusk.

The fig tree is truly magnificent, and deserving of it's place at the top of the hill.

The cache had me stymied for a good 15 minutes. I really don't like having to search with my fingers - I'm far too aware of our native fauna to be comfortable doing that! But I got up the courage anyway, and felt about in every place I could reach, and found nothing.

As darkness was falling and I was getting frustrated, I turned to my most versatile geotool - my phone - and let it do some of the searching for me. And voila! I still found it hard to identify by touch, but soon had the cache in hand.

I probably would never have known about this impressive park without the cache, despite fortnightly visits to Emerald Hills shops, so thanks very much for the introduction!

If I’m in the right spot all I feel is rocks. Quite frustrating actually. I gave up. not in the mood to get dirty.

Woohoo Yay- I found it! after my first unsuccessful attempt touching spider webs and rocks, I went off for a walk and read through all the logs. My GPS was also pointing me to the other side, ahhh… so I decided to try again and first touch felt something! No crawling in dirt necessary PS: Cute pencil! ?? but signed with my pen. TFTC.

Today is about adventure. Geocaching NSW is organising an event at the western Sydney parklands and you can go up the trees after that. Found a few caches along the way getting there, did the new caches around the event and picked up another few on the way home. Great day and all caches found easily.

I was able to finish work on time today and suddenly the rain seemed to ease for a good period. Finding a good spot for my geomobile just by the path, I grabbed my caching bag and umbrella and headed off for this one. I have to say walking up through this park was just beautiful, I loved meandering around the paths and seeing all the views, and enjoying the smell of all the jasmine coming into bloom. Once getting closer to gz, I had a feeling I knew where this one would be. A quick search and I soon had CIH. The log is a little damp but still usable. Once completing signing duties I replaced and enjoyed this enormous tree, how long has it been here? Have to say this was a great little geoventure and I’ll give you a FP for the beautiful location. TFTC Hillster!

Well done Hillster on a great first hide. This is an excellent location for a cache and one which I would not have known about had you not placed this here! She is a grand old lady indeed! And a lovely little park surrounding her. This is my second time here trying to find your cache and both times have had me wondering around in circles for quite some time scratching my head in frustration lol Today I finally got my hands on the little blighter when I was at the point of giving up haha. Very well done, a sneaky little hide. Tftc!

Had to come back to find this as there were too many people around the first time. Early in the morning made it easier but still a bit of a challenge. The hint helps of course.

Located at 2:54pm. #1034.

After completing some yard and house chores, I needed to make a quick stop at the shops. Decided to make a small detour on my way home to collect this cache.

The views from GZ are astounding and the tree is very impressive. A picture perfect spot for a cache.

Cheers for the placement Hillster.

Ha!!!! Almost defeated me again today. But with no rain, and dryer suroundings - i was able to find this beauty!!!! Sat in the spot this time and thought about it before I searched - took in nature and away i went! This is so far my favourite place!!!

I'm absolutely gutted I couldn't find this one. I was so determined but have to question alot of the ones i cant seem to find may have been washed/blown away in the big storms we had juat a few days ago. Guess i will have to wait for someone else to find it so I know its definitely here. Just sitting on a platform looking at the view wishing I had found it. Amazing view though - even with the rain.

#6832 (4 of 4 today)

I was after numbers today to up my cache count, both for the calendar day and to push to 1100 for the year. I had hoped to hit an Adventure Lab cache as well.
However, I was somewhat stymied by closures out west due to the Total Fire Ban. So had to do a round trip picking up finds here and there.

Went for six but two were DNFs. Four will have to do!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Final find of the day - one DNF still to come, though.

Parked in the suggested spot and had a fairly flat walk to GZ.
Nice quick find with good coordinates.

Completed signing duties on a bench, than back for the replace after taking in the truly impressive tree.
Then back to the car.

Took a different route home than planned after a weekend Bridal Shower out nor-west so luckily I had already uploaded a test PQ I’d intended to do between the wedding and the reception back this way in a few weeks. Views are nice but the park itself is lovely and a great place for a cache. Any photos I took just didn’t do it justice.

We finally got around to visiting this cache. A scenic location. The new suburb nearby has some very iarge houses and no trees. I guess they'll save on their water bill but spend more on air conditioning. A nice location for a cache. TFTC

I approached this cache down Fig Avenue, as if the name wasn't enough the view made my destination obvious. Once I'd made my way up the winding paths I took a while to get the right location. I bumped my head once but I picked up an unexpected object which may become a cache one day. Very nice views, except the sea of black roofs in one direction. I like that the park is somewhat designed around this beautiful old tree.
