In Auckland this wet weekend with maplerosenz and The Seagnoid. Our primary purpose is to complete the Crayola series, so we'd all previously solved the puzzles. Using Cachetur we got a reasonable route to follow, so we set off early on Saturday morning. Thanks to kiwicouple for this series and for giving us a drive through some lovely countryside (despite the weather doing its best to make us miserable!). Logs all signed as MuTS for the three of us.Found in a likely spot.

I have been eyeing up the Crayola series for a while now and when I mentioned a trip plan to some friends they wanted to come along and soon it turned into an epic trip, with all sorts of what-do-we-wants for day two.So here we are, TrinityNZ and maplerosenz and myself. We arrived late friday. I headed out early Saturday morning and walked out to collect the Kirk's bush caches, getting back when the girls were nearly ready to head out. We knocked off the crayolas in 6 hours. Some took a lot of hunting, others we knew were missing and had permission to replace. We also did a couple of the trads amongst there, but other defeated us. Sunday I set off early again. but managed five DNFs in a row. I guess my hearrt wasn't really in it. It rained all Saturday, I had clean sock but they were wet as just from a couple of minutes in my shoes from yesterday. And it is raining still. Today we went out again, in the rain again, to get a bunch of challenge caches and a few odds and sodds specials.Aparently everyone back home had sunny weather. Sigh.Most caches signed as MuTS, for mapleroseNZ, TrinityNZ and the Seagnoid. Some challenge caches signed with our individual names.

Flying in for a short weekend with TrinityNZ & the Seagnoid (Team MuTS!) with a select list of caches to find including this Crayola series. We had used Cachetur to make the best route we could see. We set off before 8am from our base in Rosehill, armed with fruit, muesli bars and plenty of liquids (there are no obvious cafes or dairies on the route, so bring supplies if you are attempting the whole lot in one go. We found one bougie 'rural grocery', which advertised hot drinks but didn't have tea or decaff coffee as per its menu...go figure). After the first 10 or so caches, I managed to fall over on large, sharp gravel and tear an impressive hole in my knee. I was then designated chief driver/navigator and left to drive/bleed quietly for much of the rest of this series, only getting out of the car when caches were not found quickly. As a result, I don't have much individual detail about each cache but will add it where I have notes. We eventually completed this series in a little over 6 hours, including a few non-Crayola caches on the route. Day 2 of my visit to the big smoke with Mr-Mcgoo for a Crayola coloured crayon adventure. I can't recall when I originally solved all of these - ages ago, but I love these puzzles and a nice long list was a fun goal. Great to finally years later visit all the locations revealed on my screen so long ago. Our joint caching name for the logs was Mc Itchy. TFTC and fun series kiwicouple.

We planned a few days visit to Auckland for two reasons; our last two North Island CANZ caches, and the Crayola series which we had solved several years ago. Unfortunately we didnt think to bring caching supplies (eg extra log sheets) with us.We are back for our second day of the crayola series today. Yesterday we managed to find all 40 of the caches we looked for; we werent so successful today, and we also had more traffic and muggles to contend with, being closer to town. This was #16 for the day, solved in 2021. All ok here. Thanks for the puzzle and cache, kiwicouple!

As a once in a lifetime holiday, this year we are traveling for 7 weeks to Vietnam, Bali, Australia and New Zealand. In Australia we meet Ellen Sch and MrVon sr and Ingsve to visit these last two countries, so here we cache together. We signed the log with N4. Now we have solved many caches so we have a large number of solved coordinates. But we are interested in all types of caches, so if you receive a log, it means that we have visited your cache. We haven't quite decided where we're going, but we'll probably let the weather decide for us. We want warmth because in Norway it is now freezing. We will stay for about 2 weeks in Australia and 2 weeks in New Zealand and we will end the trip with the Mega event in Adeleide on 29 February. So thank you very much to all of you who make it possible for us to travel around finding caches. On March 6, we set course for Norway again. There are extremely nice people everywhere and we are welcomed, we thank you very much. Thanks to our cache friends for good company on the trip.

Years after solving these puzzles we finally ventured north in search of the rainbow of colours. Although it It was not supposed to rain our day started with light drizzle which luckily cleared by late morning. Thanks for an enjoyable series of caches, we always enjoy caching around rural areas.Spotted hint item on approach and then the cache TFTC.

Matagouri and I found ourselves with a bit of free time before 'house sitting ' duties called, so headed up North for a bit of geocaching. My main focus was to attack this 'crayola series' which had been solved yonks ago in preparation for the Mega event, that I never ended up attending. It's so good to finally complete this series (other than a handful of dnfs).A big thanks to matagouri, who did all the driving around despite the fact he'd already found most of these caches.Thanks for all of the effort you've put into setting up this series

We parked further down the road on a nice patch of grass and walked back. At first I couldn't see the hint item, a bit like the saying "can't see the wood for the trees", until I realised that I could see it. Luckily for us there was a bit of a geotrail straight to the correct side for the cache.

I headed out today with AliGle to look for all the caches on the Crayola 64 series. AliGle had worked her way through all the jigsaw puzzles back in the days of Covid lockdowns and it's taken us a while to get around to heading down this way to find the caches. Unfortunately we didn't keep a record of the hints from the puzzle solutions, so that made the day a bit more interesting! However, most caches were easy enough finds without hints. At the end of the day we found 54 caches from the series and DNFed 10. I think half of the DNFs were most likely missing caches (based on DNF logs before us) and the other half were probably there, but we struggled to locate them having not saved the hints! We signed the logsheets with "24/04 V/A" although 2 or 3 couldn't be signed due to dampness. Some logs were also full, but we managed to squeeze our initials in somewhere. All in all it was a great day out in the picturesque countryside. Thanks for the big effort that's obviously gone into creating this series!

Vistra and I headed out today to look for all the caches on the Crayola 64 series. I solved all of the jigsaws during lockdown but we only got around to looking for them today. Unfortunately in my haste to complete the puzzles, I didn't keep a record of the hints from the puzzle solutions when they appeared at the end of the puzzles, so that made finding the caches from the coordinates alone a bit more challenging! Nonetheless we had a pretty successful day and found 54 caches from the series and DNF'd 10. We signed the log sheets with "24/04 V/A" but couldn't sign a couple because the logs were very damp. A few of the log sheets were full too and need replacing, but we managed to find a small corner to initial. Thanks very much to the COs for all the work that has gone into creating this fun series of caches and for giving us a productive and fun day out!

A nice quick find, a nice sized container and excellent cover from the passing cars made this a great one to end on today.
The log was soon signed and we were on our way.

True as said. Managing to carve out a few miles on these rural roads. Easy driving with roads criss crossing the area.

Today I was driving out of my save Camp for about 4 hours but then it seams the wind was geting stronger, My high JUCY Camper was shaking a lot so I stoped caching. I had 16 finds, 2 was not writable and 4 No finds.
It seems I make the job from the Owner, look if all OK but I get no smiley for the no finds.

Out and about collecting all the colours today. This one was a quick easy find (as were they all except one). Lots of water lying around the place after a week of rain but all nice and dry today. TFTC.

Mr Kiwi and I spent Matariki exploring this new part of the country to us. We found snails, slugs, ants and slatters along with 83 caches. Many thanks for putting the series together. I love jigsaw puzzles, so these caches were right up my alley. I loved the hidden in plain sight caches.

I had to google how to access my Personal Notes to access the hints I had cut and paste. I hadn't needed to use those 3 dots before. Mr Kiwi worked out the car icon in the app was handy for navigating the roads. We both learnt something today! Was handy having 2 phones between us.

Solved these a while back and in the (very general) area today with some time…. So making a start in collecting then. Thanks.

Apologies for the late logging and the cut and paste, we solved these puzzles over the last two years so now was the time we started visiting them. Joined forces with TaraTed to attend the Mega and take an organised trip to Brown's Island along with other cacher's who had also attended Mega.
In the following days we visited and cached in and around Auckland and South Auckland, including visits to this Crayola series. We signed ourselves as BBTT or vice versa.

This was Crayola cache #63 of 64, and cache #71 that we found today. My overall log for the series is on [Crayola 64: Silver](https://coord.info/GL16JWD2E).

I'm wearing my purple shirt from the Mega event as I'm writing these logs, and I just noticed that it's pretty much exactly the same colour as this crayon. This was a nice big cache, and I didn't see the newer log until I had already signed in a space on the original one. Both logs are perfectly dry though. Thank you!

Solved these about a year ago, was solving so that I could perhaps combine with the NZ MEGA, and so today was the day, only a couple of days after the MEGA which was held on the 22 January.

A joint effort, thanks again TwigNZ for having me tag along, so many roads not travelled before, cool hides, and interesting landscapes.

NZ MEGA 2020 (in 2022) road trip - Day 7
Apologies in advance for the C&P logging, but will mention anything that stands out. Just about all the finds were straightforward in accordance with the Hint.

As one of the things I thought I might attempt on this trip, I've been itching to have a crack at trying to get a day of finding a large number of caches. 200 was a target I had set myself a while back. I had noticed that there was a large concentration of caches just north of Auckland Airport, and I had also solved the Crayola 64 geo-art series a couple of years ago, and hoped that between those 2 locations I would be able to get the numbers I wanted. But doing it all on my own would be the biggest challenge.

I did have a few people say to me that I was being over-ambitious, as the Crayola series would take the best part of a day in itself to visit all the locations. I can now confirm that those people were right.

Having had a fantastic day on Browns Island on Sunday, another member of Team Done by 1 (RustyNZ) and I arranged to do just the Crayola series, and anything more would be a bonus. She had been wanting an excuse to come and find these, so it was a good opportunity for both of us. We met up just off the motorway and carpooled from there.

A bit of backtracking to get to this one, but a quick find at GZ. The log was soon sporting both our names and we were back off on what would end up being a really long, but worthwhile day. I didn't get my 200, but I had my best single day ever with over 100 finds

Today we had set aside for doing the Crayola 64 series, and StreetWalkerNZ had spent time last night working out the optimal route, though a bit of back tracking could not be avoided. A successful day, with just a couple of DNFs (think these caches are missing, rather than through our incompetence [:p]). Appreciated the quiet roads and variety of hides.
Some blackberry at GZ, but I haven't noted if we were able to harvest any fruit. TFTC.

#8929. I had seen the Crayola series published a while ago but had only got around to solving one of them. I hadn't had time to get back to them until just after Christmas. Then with my trip up north coming up and a spell of wet weather in Wellington, I got into the jigsaws and managed to solve 20 of the easier ones before I headed north. So today was the chance to come around and pick up the finals before I head back south again. I suspect I will be driving up and down the same roads once more in the future when I get to solve the rest. Sorry for the cut and pastes logs. But did too many over a couple of hours to remember them all. Will comment if there was something unusual about the hide. I only needed to check the hint on a couple of them. So thanks for the excellent coordinates, the fun jigsaws and for getting me out to Karaka.

Jude_E, NosyNel, GraciesGPSFun and I are on the ‘Mega that wasn’t’ trip in Auckland the weekend. We’re collecting the ‘Tour’ caches, plus others, plus seeing the scenery, plus having a good old time -as usual . TFTC.

Visiting North Island from Otago as I still had my flights etc all booked last Christmas for what was going to be the Mega Weekend. Joined up with the Southland Geocachers (MrandMrsChosen1978, Wombat_4, NZBozzy, Kiscardi, Mrs Hazzer, Tregram and I) formed the Southern Raiders to have a Mega time caching in Auckland and Rotorua.

Day 3 - a nice morning chilling at the hotel and then it was time to hit the 64 Crayola series. As one of two who had all of the puzzle final locations loaded on my phone I became the navigator in the cark with NZBozzy and Kiscardi. So much fun was had travelling around the area and on the roads we saw and waved to drivers in some very old classic cars.

Today was the day Team G0LD (Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) finally got to collect these puzzles. As Pete said we'd planned this trip ages ago but covid-19 got in the way.

I left my sons in Whangarei at 5am and got back home to Paihia at 11pm. It was a long day but I really enjoyed it. We found all the crayola series, a few trads near them, a few other solved puzzles. In the middle of the series we headed up to Awhitu Regional park to get a cache that required low tide. Along the way we even managed two FTF's giving us a total of just over 100 for the day.

I enjoy jigsaw puzzles so this was a fun series which I solved back in July/August 2019. A different hint object from most of the others here and a quick find. Sorry again for the cut and paste logs but thank you very much for the series

Off on a mission today with Team G0LD ( Geocachers 0B8, Lis & Daffy ) to finally do the Crayola 64 series. The puzzles had been solved ages ago, but due to two Covid forced delays, it was only now we could coordinate schedules and head south from Whangarei to make the finds.

We managed over 100 caches today, including all 64 Crayola puzzles, some extra puzzles, a few trads and a "slight" detour up to Awhitu Park to do the walk around there as well. A neat bonus was a couple of FTF's as well for the day. Finally made it back to Whangarei 17 hours later after over 500kms travel. Thx Greg for the driving, Lis for doing a lot of the hard yards in and out of the vehicle and yours truly for not getting us lost in an area of the country I certainly had never been before.

Thx also to Kiwi Couple for putting out this series and bringing us to this new area. Certainly interested to see all the flash "shacks" dotted around. The variety of containers was also much appreciated and some nicely crafted examples were found, which does make the experience more enjoyable.

Out with Team Gold (Liz Crew and 0B80B8) picking up as many caches as possible in the South Auckland area. We solved a lot puzzle prior to heading down, so it was time to collect them.

Up in Auckland visiting family for the school holidays. Heading south we decided to stop and collect as many Crayola as we could. Having the camper van is not ideal for small roads so we parked up and got on our bikes. Most of the finds were straight forward however some of the hints had changed. It may be that we solved these so long ago that we haven’t updated the hint. Thanks for the series.

We have a significant caching milestone approaching which we want to obtain on a trip away over Labour weekend. To get there we needed a few more caches and so a plan was hatched, the collective solving power of Team SEAC was put to the task and today was the day to collect this whole series.

The weather forecast wasn't the greatest and there was some initial discussion about postponing however the decision was made to carry on.

We meet at a predetermined spot and with Keylev, NZIceman, Laval, Cragger and Graffin we set out to conquer this series.

This was cache find # 70 of the day. I dropped a TB. All logs signed as Team SEAC to save space, TFTC!

Got my planning/sequencing wrong here and ended up doing these 2 too early and back-tracking later. Oh well, easy find here

Another weekend day dawns, later than usual due to daylight saving adjustment in the night and my plan for today was a good one. I've been steadily solving the jigidi Crayola puzzles at the rate of 5 or 6 a night with some gaps in solving but steadily enough anyway. mrs capperz is away for the weekend so I'm at a loose end for things to do - lol! So caching in the Drury area it is then. There was supposed to be some unsavoury weather around with a storm moving across the country, but meh. I can always take a change of clothing. As it was the rain came down for an hour or so and I got really wet, but the sun made an appearance and a breeze picked up to dry me off. Which was nice.

And so it came to pass. The Crayolas were put back in their carton, except for 2 DNFs (one missing, one not sure why everyone else found it but not me!), 62/64. Also managed to get some collateral caches when passing as well as my 200th Earthcache, some GROTTYs, and a trip to Puhinui Reserve to get the Multi cache details for our US and UK partners. Home by 1730 so didn't even make use of the extra hours light today. I'd had enough by then.

NZ Travellers have a big milestone in sight and a cache they are aiming for so they need to get their numbers up a bit for the stars to align at the right time. These puzzles were all solved during the first lockdown so we thought we would take the opportunity to finally collect them. We had NZ Travellers, NZ Iceman, cragger, laval, draffin and myself along for the ride. The log was signed as SEAC to save time and space on the log.

#1147 After solving many caches of this geo trail series over COVID-19 lockdown at home, GB Leader and I decided a staycation in Auckland would be a good substitute to a planned overseas trip.
After spending time with second cousins in other parts of Auckland, now it was finally time to commence the hunt. Started with a DNF, then finally got the streak going - this was #8 of 9 found on Day #1.

Nice easy find.

New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. I solved all the Crayola 64 mysteries at home and came well prepared with all the hints. The landscape was so quiet and peaceful and the boxes were well done. With more or less searching I signed the logbooks and finished the series. Thanks for all the mysteries and the work to make my day a happy geocaching day!
