OCW Brewmaker and Calypso62 doing a bit metrocaching on a windy day using our $2.50 allowance for the day. As these two seniors had previously located they kept me company and made sure I didn't fall in any ditches . So I made my way away from the station towards GZ . After a few minutes I spotted the "EH special" nicely camoed and blended in . To my surprise a new log to sign alias not FTF. TFTC Jackscruff
After taking the new (and old) Metro from Sydenham to Tallawong I did a quick cache check here. Removed the old log and put in a new small logbook. The cache was not hidden at all so I have placed it back out of muggle view, where it originally was.
We walked up the road after finishing the Metro AL to find this cache, which was soon found with excellent coordinates. Thanks for a good hide with a great view of the parked Metro trains. As we walked up here I was amazed by the number of vehicles in the commuter carpark, seems all the planning has paid off.
Thanks Jackscruff for our adventure. Coming from Adelaide this vast train line is amazing. We journeyed from Killara this morning on the metro, did the lab and bonus and now will journey back to Chatswood for lunch before returning home for childcare pick up.
A well disguised container. Quickly found with Nibletricecakes on a long weekend in the Windsor/Richmond area. TFTC.
Up in Sydney with GLISS! For some caching, exploring and the East Richmond parkrun. Cant walk past a side tracked cache! So started our day off with this one. Took a little hunting but GLISS! soon had the cache in hand. Great camo. Thanks for the cache.
Thanks guys, my son found his first geo cache. He can't wait to look for his next one.
Good magnetic cache the gps throws you off a little bit. But in general is a good cache nice condition TFTC blend in
I'll assume that the view is the depot at the end of the line. I'll research that. TFTC
Found with shaneo58, We came down from Newcastle to Do the Metro adventure Lab and picking up some along the way. Coords very good making for a fast find.

i was dropped of and took a short walk to the given location and dusted some cobwebs off and there it was
After checking the logbook 2 on-line logs have been deleted as they have not signed the logbook which is a requirement of Geocaching to claim a find.
The cache is back in place and is ready to be found.
Enjoy a trip on the Metro out to Tallawong and find the cache.

With an IGD event nearby today I came to check on the cache on the way home.
I decided to disable the cache and take it home for improvements.

Very good find and clever, it is not on the train tracks if you look for this.
A great day to get out and do some caching. Very good coords. Thank you Jackscruff.
Found It!
I found the mint tin cache with just a spider inside. So I evicted the spider and added a logbook.

Found the container at the end of the bridge with a magnet which is too small for the job and not attached. No log sheet. Photo taken. Moved container to correct coordinates.
Needs maintenance.

Found it with father, not in the right place, and needs some serious maintenance. We placed back at the exact coordinates
After completing the AL and multi I headed for another one. Once I centred in I had CIH. I managed to move the magnet so cache might stay in place better. TFTC
Thanks for this little cache. It ended up not being too tricky to find as it had fallen. It’s been reinstalled safely but might need something more sticky.
Met up with D'ozzie for lunch and then spontaneous decided to do some caching in the surrounding areas for and picking up adventure labs on the way home.

I had a chance today to once again ride the metro and, after completing the eponymous AL, went in search of this sidetracked geocache.
There is a scarily tremendous lot of huge construction trucks in this area,
but I managed to dodge them and find this cache.
Thankyou, Jackscruff

In order to re-enable this cache after Lockdown I have visited the location today and checked the cache.
It was exactly where it was originally placed and the logbook has plenty of room for more finders logs.
Just a reminder, a fundamental rule of geocaching is that, in order to be able to log a cache find online, you must retrieve the cache container and sign the physical log located in that container. Failure to comply will result in your online log being removed.

Now that the NSW Government has eased lockdown restrictions and we can now travel outside our local LGA, it’s time to bring this cache back into play.

We know the COVID-19 virus is still about, so please take precautions to keep yourself and those around you safe by doing things such as wearing gloves to handle caches, as well as using hand sanitiser regularly.
Take care everyone and enjoy your geocaching!

To help stop the spread of Covid-19, the NSW Government has ordered everybody to stay at home unless you are: shopping for essentials, receiving medical care, exercising or travelling to work or education.
While some people would regard going geocaching as a form of exercise, it is my personal opinion that this activity is a non-essential one, perhaps involving unnecessary travel and therefore should not be undertaken during this time of crisis.
Who knows how long this current lockdown will last! Right now, every one of us has an important part to play in helping to keep our families, friends and the wider community safe in the fight against the spread of Covid-19, by staying home.
As a result of the health authority’s directive, I have decided to disable this cache and respectfully request that no person seek out and claim a find whilst this cache is disabled.
Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to bringing my caches back into play as soon as the health crisis abates.
Regards,
Jackscruff
Found on a chilly first day of Winter, fairly exposed site thankfully a quick find and pleasant view to the west overlooking the rail yard. Some long-dead flowers had been attached the to fence near GZ. TFTC!
Our Teenager spotted this one, lucky for him spotting our last cache, Happiest Mother's day had.

This was the nineteenth of 19 finds for the day. After finding ‘COVID-19’, Mizmaz and I decided on one last cache. Having previously found this one, Mizmaz let me find this cache to add to my tally. Whilst she parked nearby, I made a made dash to GZ and soon placed my hands on the cache. SL. TFTC.

I succumbed to temptation today after 6 weeks of restraint! We were visiting my cuddle muggle's best friend and at one point while they chit chatted away, I ducked out to buy some stuff I needed at Bunnings ... and then took the long way back to her house, for no reason other than to allow me to find a few caches. I must say that it felt really good to be able to pursue my favourite outdoor pastime again after such a long break ... and the irony of it all is that I never got closer than 100m to another person while I did so.
A straightforward find here after parking in a strangely "less than fully occupied" commuter carpark ... not sure whether it's a sign of the times, or a case of a carpark being built to meet anticipated future needs ... but then, that's something governments aren't very good at.
TFTC Jackscruff ... it's nice to add another notch to my SideTracked scorecard.

Roaming around Kellyville Ridge for a few caches I also decided to check out the caches around Tallawong station. the final stop of the Sydney Metro.
After parking at the nearby commuter carpark I crossed the intersection and arrived at GZ. This was a very easy find and the cache was in good condition.
Thanks for the cache!
