ArchieF I didn’t find your cache Archie's 2nd cache on 15/4/2023, 1:06 pm. Nothing found.
I looked and got to within 1mt of where the cache could have been but decided today was not my day for this cache. As Arnie said, I'LL BE BACK.
My second visit & still no joy. My poking around uncovered a hollow sounding object & after some manoeuvring this is what I found
No luck, despite a couple of hints in previous logs. Pretty sure I had the right tree but my GPS was bouncing all over the place.
Found when trying to round up a few more caches for Signal's labyrinth. Very wet. TFTC
Holy moly, bush bashing at its greatest. Long pants a must. A great tricky hide, tftc. Found with CoolAsApickel
No luck today! Very overgrown in there. Will try again when it isn’t wet. Off to clean the mud off me!
Found with Muggle65. It is unfortunately very wet inside and with the rain since we found it, will be in dire need of attention. Thank you for the hide
Apparently the log was wet, very wet back in August as logged, I can confirm that we successfully did nothing to help this status as we weren’t equipped today with our maintenance kit. Thank goodness Tank pens work under water & upside down to help us scrawl our monos into the water bag.
After work i decided to pick up a few smileys . I found a park not far away and once at GZ i soon spotted a familiar hide. Nice little park . Thank you for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
I loved this one sooo much! Archie is a great geocache hider!! Thank you so much.
Log book is wet and needs replacing.

A great day out caching with buddies. This was found early on during the day. All great here. Log signed and then onto more adventures!

Another fun catch up with the Domsky Dou. There was meant to be a Community event today but was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. We had a very enjoyable day still, lots of people out and about, the weather was perfect! Beautiful blue skies, not hot not cold either and of course wonderful company! We collected 17 caches and a tick as a bonus!
Thanks for the cache and taking us here ArchieF. Log was wet and yucky to sign so we replaced with our spare log. Have to return to the cache as I accidentally left my handheld GPS on the ground while signing. Took some fortune plants which was growing nicely nearby and was lucky enough to get a hitchhiker on the back of my head!

Granny brought me to my friend's birthday party at this playground and after we walked down to this cache. I was careful sliding down the hill. The logbook was very, very wet! Thank you for the cache.
This morning, I decided to ride my bike past this location, to grab this traditional cache for the day. I did notice a few quirky road signs on the neighbouring house too. I parked my bike on the fringe of the lawns and trees, and descended down to GZ. The coordinates were bouncing around the growth a bit, but a logical tree seemed to cry out to me. It took a full loop before discovering the cache hide. The cache container was in good shape, but the logbook was seriously wet/saturated, and I didn't have any spare logbooks on me to assist this cache. Thanks ArchieF for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
DanSanHai sent me down the long and overgrown path but I found an easier (but slightly steeper) way back. Circled the tree once, then spotted the familiar cache container the second time. TFTC!
This took some searching for as much more natural debris had fallen on the cache. Ants have occupied the cache but we sent them on their way. Log is wet but we were able to stamp. Thanks for the adventure.
Another bush bashing exercise that left me with insect bite & a DNF. On to the next one
With the weather looking a little dismal, & everyone in hiding as it appeared close to raining at any minute, we decided to head out Dayboro way to clean up a few dots on our geocaching map.
A pleasant country drive and, hopefully, low numbers of active muggles were anticipated so we bundled Winter the Geo-Cat into the Geo-Beast & headed northwest.
Hmmm? [?]
Playground and BBQs? [?]
Once again it looks like we may have approaoched a cache from the WRONG SIDE!
I didn't really look demented as I looked about then at my phone then at the muggles using the cricket nets & basketball ring before disappearing into the scrub with a brief backward glance.
Guess what? [?]
No-one cared or showed any interest at all!
Skillfully dodging a few large orb spiders perched hungrily in the centres of their webs I managed to slip, slip & weave my way to GZ where I spent longer than was really necessary making the find.
As it turned out I had looked in the right spot the first time but wasn't thorough enough.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Found a way to cache after overshooting and finding the path a bit overgrown. Thought it would take a wile to find, there are quite a few possible hiding spots but found in the second place I looked. Can imagine the mossies or midges would be bad here at times. TFTC
Heading out after a hard day at the office with geopup, we stopped by here to find this cache.
Made our way down the hill, i quickly realised i should have sprayed the aerogard before i left the car, but was happy I found the cache quickly and didn't need it.
Log signed and cache replaced as found.
Thanks ArchieF for the cache.

Oh dear. After more than 5000 caches, I guess it was bound to happen.
I turned up this afternoon and realised immediately I was here about a month ago and clearly forgot to log the cache!
Without getting out of my car this time, let me say TFTC which I hope is still as good today as it was last month!

Parked in the very convenient parking and strolled over to the cache... not sure what the muggle shooting hoops thought I was up to, but I managed to be in and out within minutes... tftc...
It’s a nice little playground here. The climbing area had just the right amount of risk and reward. Climb to the top and you risk falling off and breaking your back. The reward is when someone catches you falling off on camera and you win the funniest home videos cash prize.
We also used the facilities that had more computing power on board than a Cray supercomputer. Wave your hands here and there to start water and open doors. Even when you miss the bowl a computerised voice tells you to watch your aim.
After marveling at the advances in toilet technology we headed off to find the cache. I set about checking the obvious and was impressed this hasn’t been washed away. Then I saw the actual creek and understood why it’s safe. tftc

Had the opportunity to tick this one off my list today. Great hide. My second ever cache found, TFTC.
Came here once in the evening - bad idea! Much easier during the day. Also, beware of the scary looking spider coming down the bank! I heard he feasts on the flesh of lost geocachers.
Nice clever hide

Out and about with DisSister. A quick find here after short scramble through some bush to GZ. All good. Thanks ArchieF
A nice quick find once we found our way down the slope. Log in good condition. TFTC
After a non-official Parkrun with friends, we introduced a newbie to caching! So glad there is an easy creek crossing here... lovely to explore. Thanks very much!
Out for a bit of caching in the dark, on the dark side.
Walked in here and came out with a find and a few spiders.
Thank you for this cache Archie

Among the tree roots, something natural but not in its natural environment..
The log is new, clean and dry. Had me stumped for a while and then the wallah moment. TFTC
Found this yesterday arvo on a afternoon walk with geo mum and erm_the_worm I have been meaning to get it for a while but never got the chance to TFTC thanks archie
Early start this morning working from home has opened up a few hours today to go out for a cache
Found after a bit of back and forth.

Found this one today after a little bit of a search as we thought we were looking for a different type of can't cache container and then, an oh this is it moment. The damp log was then signed and cache returned. TFTC from the inspectorrexteam.
Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. TFTC *476* streak. *2876* Finds
I loved this spot! Nice little find once I got to the spot. The log is a little wet. TFTC!
The GPS was reading right on the money today.
Even with all the tree cover and the overgrowth everywhere I had zero meters when I arrived at GZ and there was the cache.

Quick easy find in an obvious spot to open today’s ledger. Thanks for the cache
Apparently I am finding a cache a day this week for a souvenir - so today I decided to drive to a very different train station for my morning commute. Just so I could swing past this one. Wet and dirty shoes are part of the uniform now boss. Thankfully a quick and easy find and I was on my way.
Thanks ArchieF for entertaining me at this location.

Another cache day ticked off in our hunt for the "streak week" souvenir. Looks like plenty of local kids have been having fun down here, it's good to see. Found the likely spot and did a lap before spying something familiar.

Log signed and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie **ArchieF**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

On my way to visit my sister over this way, I looked for caches that might be fairly quick to find as I'm desperately (on my own, because Mr STW is away) trying to find the last few gems for the Mystery at the Museum Challenge.
There were some people playing football in the park so I tried to slip quietly into the trees then wandered around for a bit looking for a likely host. I knew I'd found the right place when I found it, though was surprised that it wasn't higher away from the water. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache. I like the hide!

Quick find whilst out running errands. Another calendar day filled! Thanks Archie. Lovely spot to take a moment to relax too ! Fave point for you .
Out today with Geopartner.
We wandered into this area and soon was at GZ.
Soon the cache was in hand and signed the cache,
Returned to where we found it.

After a morning with my daughter and grand-girls, I headed home via this cache. A short walk and a bit of a downhill and I found the cache in the first spot I looked. TFTC, ArchieF.
Find #2220: joint *FTF* at 15:13 with 1MinnieMoo, 1GiantPanda, CrookedPete, and SelvaGirls (plus one).
Well that was a bit of an epic search.
Rocking up at GZ I observed a familiar vehicle, and a familiar couple of people... and sprinted to GZ behind my sister and nephew.
But even we were late to the party. Selva Girls (plus geograndkid) along with CrookedPete were already hunting, but nothing was coming to light.
We widened our search, but kept coming back to the same feature we'd started with. And back out. and back in.... inevitably the signs of our efforts were becoming more obvious.
We'd pretty much come to the conclusion that the cache had either not yet been placed, or had already been muggled, but none of us was willing to call off the search and walk away... had it not been for an FTF, we no doubt would have.
We were still considering our options after an hour or so (yes, really), when a very surprised young lad burst onto the scene, with his grandmother. Hmm... are you.... Archie, by any chance?
The CO had not realised his cache had been published in the short time he'd taken it away for some minor maintenance. Talk about bad timing!
We all turned our backs, the cache was hidden, and soon after found by the youngest member of the search team.
We stayed and chatted for a while and then made our way back to the cars as it started to rain.
Thanks for the cache, and the adventure, ArchieF (and grandmother) -- it was a pleasure to meet you both today.

**FTF** Geograndson and I had just finished lunch and were deciding what to do on this rainy day. He wanted to go caching, so I pulled out my phone to see what might be doable. Huh???? There is a FTF icon on a cache not far from here! No notification had come through yet! I asked him if he wanted to go find it and a very excited "YES!" was the response. Grabbing his raincoat as I walked out the door, wee were soon on our way. The notification came through during the short drive.
There were no cars parked nearby, si we made our way to GZ. We searched and searched....and searcched.....but no luck. The search was expanded but we kept coming back tot he same spot.
After about half an hour of searching, I heard a voice say :Hello". I looked up to see Crooked Pete. He joined the search, but still no luck. Then I spotted 1MinnieMoo making her way down, with EngPhil hot on her heels. Now there were five of us searching! The five of us searched for about another hour before we heard a voice say :"Are you geocachers?" We all responded in the affirmative, thinking that there was now another two sets of eyes to look for the cache. How wrong we were. It was the young CO and his grandmother. They had been to check on the cache this morning, only to find the log was wet with all the rain that we have been having. Being diligent COs and not expecting publication to happen quite so quickly, they had taken the cache hoome to replace the wet logbook and had come to replace it, They were surprised that publication had happened as quickly as it had. We all turned our backs while Archie re-hid the cache. With that chore done, my geograndson went in to make his first **FTF**. .He was one very happy little geocacher! TFTC Archie. Perhaps we will meet again at another cahce!

6/7/19 3:10 pm Find #2567
Well that was interesting.
At home on this rainy day, baking chic chip cookies with 1GiantPanda and I opened my ph mail courtesy of something I read on Facebook, to find caches had been published and one wasn’t that far away. My phone isn’t currently giving me instant notifications, and this one had been published a good half an hour earlier. But no sign yet of anyone having found it.
Ok time to get in that car and head on over. Pulling the car up I noticed SelvaGirl’s car, and charged down to GZ hoping she hadn’t yet found it, only to see her and her geograndson and another familiar face there as well. Hi Crooked Pete. And coming up right behind me..... was EngPhil.
Well with the party now in full swing we covered every inch of GZ once, twice, three times to no avail. It was maybe at this time Crooked Pete took up some serious drinking.
We began to wonder a couple of things:
1. Was the cache placed yet and
2. Have we somehow buried it amongst everything unintentionally?!
We contemplated just what we should do, when all of a sudden down the bank slid a young lad who stopped in shock and looked at us. Well I’d feel the same looking at a couple of these shady fellows
And then his grandmother came down too and asked if we were geocaching.
Yes we are.
There isn’t one published here yet.
Ummm yes it’s been published this afternoon, are you Archie?
Oh dear. Turns out the keen COs had ducked home with the cache after doing a quick maintenance check and finding the logbook soaked. And they were just coming back with the replacement.
So we all turned our backs while Archie his the cache, and then geograndson Alex went in for the find.
A joint **FTF** with EngPhil, SelvaGirl and Crooked Pete.
Thanks for the cache ArchieF. At least we know you are onto any maintenance concerns! And nice to meet you both here today.

{*FTF*} on 6/7/19 with a cast of thousands. Spotted this one ten minutes after it was published and headed straight out. Pulled up in the drizzleand spotted a known cachers car nearby. Rushed over expecting to be told that it had been found, only to find a drenched Selva Girls and her grandson.
A quick search in the obvious spot and along comes 1Minniemoo with Engphil hot on her heels. Another few laps around the obvious feature without success znd we started thinking outside the square a bit.
I had just finished telling a story about hunting for a FTF when the CO turned up, when low and behold, the young CO turned up. Nice to meet you Archie. We all looked away and the Selvagirls grandson made the find.
Many thanks
Pete
