TFTC smile 20961 Out and about on a Rainy day grabbing a cache to try and keep a challenge going signed as GS1947 on small logs On a trip to Maryborough to fine a few caches with Chamad with the 4x4 attributes need a few more It's Party time at GCARTY0 - 05 October 2025 Sunshine Coast come and join us for a great time Thank you StevoFoundIt for placing this cache for our enjoyment
Today started as a sunny winters day and eventually ended up with a few light showers later on which made the day all that must better. A great day for going on an adventure finding geocaches. I parked the car as close as I could and then headed off into the woods, only 200m. I made a quick find, added my name to the log sheet, returned the cache to where I found it and safely returned to the car. Thanks for placing and maintaining this geocache.
We are back in one of our favourite towns for a long weekend. For the afternoon we went searching for couple of caches near the showgrounds. We solved this puzzle on the go .... That's for us worth a fav point! We left the car and had a look at the track: no way we would try out this drain. So we walked as others before. We found this cache and signed the log.Tftc Wazza9
We spend three nights in Maryborough to clean up the leftovers.Found the cache with TBU1BIKESU and signed the log.Tftc. wazza9
Decided to do this one so MrsK could do some birding- its great to get into the bush so a fav point !! . Signed log kingfisherau 12:15 pm 7/6/2024 and replaced all as found,wazza9 - TFTC.
Regarding the puzzle, upon inspection of the cache page, it didn't take long to find the hidden coordinates and checked ok on 25/11/2021.Whilst scoping a route to ascertain how best to get to GZ, we found a track that looked to be heading in the general direction, so we entered the woods, and then walked the final 100 m to GZ. Upon our arrival, the cache was a quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks wazza9 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------During this trip, I travelled with [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) (who was visiting from Adelaide, SA) and we visited Maryborough for an extended weekend.Friday was the drive north, which involved the full day with stops in Nambour, Eumundi, Pomona, Gympie, Tiaro, and Maryborough, and highlights included the *Evil* series and the *Big Aussie Day Bash* series. The weekend's two days prioritised the *Jolly Brolly Folly* (JBF) series and *Geocaching 101* series, with a Sunday afternoon trip to Utopia Falls. Finally, Monday's itinerary included a few last geocaches that were in town, and we then returned home via Beaver Rock, Maaroom, and Tin Can Bay.A fun and rewarding trip with great company and friends, and we were rewarded with good weather throughout our trip.Today, the day commenced with Maryborough 5 km parkrun in hot and humid conditions. Subsequently, I caught up with [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) in inner Maryborough for light sightseeing and a coffee, before then completing the *Jolly Brolly* series. It was then time for a few geocaches in western Maryborough, and then we circled from the north / via the airport to subsequently attend the [A Meet and Greet for the Southerners](https://coord.info/GCAF1AZ) event.
Drove about 90% of the way there and then a short stroll. Quick find at GZ.Freddo traveled north from deep south to catch up with friendly Liz and Bruce and the RV Home base crew. David Wazza provided a sturdy vehicle and we traveled in style. We had good weather. Not to hot. Not to rainy. Lovely one day and perfect the next. The caches were found in a blur of Which Is Next and Where Are We Going Now. Some caches were harder to find than others. Some caches we could see from the car. Regardless all caches were found in the last place we looked.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. We've had this one solved for a while waiting for a return visit to Maryborough. A short walk into the bush and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC wazza9
Made the drive up from Brisbane last night in the trusty van to enjoy a long weekend of caching. Headed out this morning with the jolly Bromley as my target. Quiet a few painstaking hours has gone into preparing for this weekend and I was glad to finally get the chance to turn a few into smilies.
Upon arriving at gz I found a safe place to park the geo wagon and made my way to ground zero. It wasn’t long before the prize was sighted and soon within my hands. The log was signed and I was pleased to turn this solved cache into a smilie.
Cache was returned to its hiding place and I was soon on my way to the next in this wonderful series.
A big thanks to the cache owner/owners who have made this cache available to be found by fellow cachers
Cheers

We were close by, so off we headed to add our name to the cache. Bingo. We manage to get the puzzle, right.
We are still in the Maryborough area catching up with friends and finishing off a few more caches in the locality. It is great to see that there is another visitors series started and intend to add our contribution to the three visitors series now in town. Allbut one of the caches we found today were in good condition with one missing that was replaced with permission. SL TFTC
With a few puzzles solved in the area I detoured today to find a few and this is one I found after a wander in the bush. It is a nice day out here for caching and a nice find. All good with the cache. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide wazza9.
A bit of a hike through the scrub to this one, but fortunately it was relatively clear when compared to the bush we have back at home, so easy going. The GPSr led us straight to it.
Day 8, and our final day in Maryborough before turning south and heading for home to look after grandkids during the holidays.
Our main aim was to finish as much of the Jolly Brolly Series as we could and look for some others around the showgroiunds where we are staying.
We were more successful on the JBF today, particularly with our fishing pole. Firstly we were able to spot the caches and then we experimented with extra extensions where necessary. Even used a 2nd TOTT on one occasion!
Some walking to get to caches closer to our camp, but all in all another good day.
Thank you so much to the cachers of Maryborough.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache wazza9.

Another puzzle solved in the depths of a rainy day recently. I came close to this one yesterday, but after a power trail hunt by bicycle in the morning I did not have the energy for even a short walk.
No trouble getting to this one on the geocycle today.

Found as I meander my way from Adelaide to Cairns.
With no real travel plan and three weeks to get there before I meet up with friends, there has been plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and finding a few selected caches along the way.
Thanks wazza9 for the puzzle and the cache.

Day four of our visit to beautiful Maryborough and continuing to work our way through finding all the local and a few outer suburb caches. It was extremely overcast for the majority of the day but the compass never faulted and led us to every GZ without any hassles.
Yes it was a nice trip into the woods, didn't find any wild animals but we did find a cache though, well done CO

One of my daughters who lives in Hervey Bay was getting an award today at school, so I made the trip from Beaudesert to Hervey Bay and back again in a day. Thankfully there's still a couple of caches between there that I hadn't gotten yet to break the long drive up.
895 kilometres in one day is a lot of driving! This was cache 22 of 33
Belive it or not this puzzle had me stumped. I actually drove to the original coordinates assuming there would be something there, but there was not. It was only till I had gotten home from the last trip and was looking at the cache pages I had printed off that the solved coordinates were just screaming at me.
Back again today, and after a bit of bush bashing and a bit of hiking, the cache was in my hand. All in good condition
Thanks for the cache **wazza9**

After a long day yesterday it was nice to get in a good night sleep and be ready for another long day today.
Today will be spent grabbing a few around town, a drive out to beaver rocks, re visiting a few I had already done and grabbing a helping hand on one I had a DNF on. Then it was back to finish off the trail before a detour outside of Gympie. Yes another long day, but a rewarding one for us all, (us being Willis007, Simber15 and myself).
Around town there were some very interesting caches; a few puzzles, a few trads, a couple of whereigos, some labs and even a few multis. All caches were found in good condition and logs signed with individual names today.
Thank you to all of the CO’s for the placements and the maintaining of these for us all to enjoy. I am guessing I will be back again for some more up here as I did not get to complete everything, lol.
It was a fun day with lots of laughs and some entertaining sights along the way.
This was a nice walk into no mans land, found it with ease, the walk back out was a little longer than the walk in, lol.

After a needed steak and chips, and a good night's sleep, our team consisting of Simber15, Chamad and myself, kicked day 2 of our caching weekend off by collecting some of the fabulous caches around Maryborough. I love the themes and quirkiness of the town centre, the AL and caches were very clever, and the murals are fantastic. A big shout out and thank you to the COs here. We then headed out to finish off the 101 trail.
This was an easy find, no problems at gz or with the cache.
Thanks to wazza9.

Day two of our Maryborough adventure. Chamad suggested we start in the centre of town and complete the AL's before targeting some nearby traditionals, multi's and an earthcache. We also came prepared with some pre-solved puzzles and built a lap around Maryborough. After a break for lunch coupled with the Makku Mob we headed back onto the 101 Geo trail. Loved the adventures with Chamad and Willis007. Maryborough has a wonderful collection of unique hides and quirky art which we enjoyed very much. I will look forward to another opportunity to find some more!
Heading up to Bundy for a few days and finding some caches along the way. Took a trip into the scrub and scared a mob of Roos near GZ.

Despite the poor weather forecast for the weekend, Crookedpete, JezNDez and I set off on an impromptu road trip from Brisbane to Bundaberg chasing a large patch of potential FTF 's which appeared to still be on offer. After a successful day yesterday, we were slowly making our way back to Brisbane, with a few more caches to find including this one.
After the recent heavy rain there were a few soggy patches and some temporary streams flowing between where we parked the car and GZ. Didn't have to do too much in the way of wading to get there and after a short search the cache was located by Dez. TFTC

Some heavy rain forecasts scuttled the planned Bromance camping weekend in North NSW. The forecast around Bundy looked reasonable, and there were 70 FTF's with some generous DT up for grabs around Bundy . After a full day caching in Bundy yesterday and a restful night in an airbnb granny flat in Howard, we headed out with plans to visit Hervey Bay and Maryborough and grab some more unusual caches on the drive home
Tried a few other techniques this time, before unravelling this puzzle. It is usually on of the first things I check. A bit of a wlak in the woods - water was flowing overland through this bush - before the container was spotted. The log was signed with the Bromance team stamp. Many thanks wazza9

Big day today as I leave home at Innes Park at 0400 and arrive home at approximately 1930. On this day I found 15 hides between home and Maryborough down to Gympie then out to Kilkivan to place 23 new hides for the New Years event. Apologies for boiler plate logs but where there is something to say about the cache additions will be made. This took a little time to find a suitable entry into the bush that I was happy with. GPSr tried to take me a couple of ways that the roads/tracks just ended. Parked safe and a short walk later this one in hand.
Looked at google Maps and found a way ( Showgrounds Road and Barlow Street) and when close found a track in and then only had a 60 meter walk to GZ. Co Ordinates close enough but I had South .051 and East .102 as the last three digits of both South and East. All good here. TFTC wazza9

TFTC. We were due to have lunch with friends in Maryborough, so we took the opportunity to do some more of the caches around the area. We have passed by this section of town several times and decided to bite the bullet and do the three in this ‘showgrounds’ area. Rather then drive the vehicle we walked the tracks to find the caches. Everything in good order and extremely dry.
