I needed to find a mystery cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - Almost a Complete Mystery Challenge (GC9Z59N)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59N).So after work I opened up [Cachly](https://www.cachly.com/) to see which solved yet unfound mystery caches I still had available (*let's just say I am not much of a puzzler and it is a very short list!* ) when I spotted this one. *mmhmm... I thought I had already found all of the caches in the "7" series...*Well it turned out that I had found all of the caches in the *"7" series* except this one. Well the completionist in me, knew right then and there that I had to attempt to find this one today.Just like all of the other caches in this series, I initially really struggled to solve this one. I was able to solve the first step, but then got stuck on a bit of a red herring. However, the very kind and patient [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=3905d31b-7479-4873-a3f8-90426f27bceb&wid=dbeb7ed0-74d0-4aa9-bc81-82fa28d77a4a&ds=2) was able to drip feed me a few clues and after way too much head scratching, the puzzle was finally solved! So today after work I hoped in the geomobile and made my way to the nearest safe place to park the geomobile. Of course, once I arrived at my parking coordinates I then remembered why I hadn't found this cache yet. I had actually attempted to find this one almost a year ago, but since I was in such a hurry I didn't actually log a DNF. Well I don't know why this one gave me such trouble last time, as once I arrived at GZ on this trip it was a very quick search before the cache was in hand and the logbook signed.A big thanks goes to [OzHockeyChick](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=3905d31b-7479-4873-a3f8-90426f27bceb&wid=dbeb7ed0-74d0-4aa9-bc81-82fa28d77a4a&ds=2) for another amazing puzzle and for all the help with solving it. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in pretty good shape and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. The logbook was also clean and dry, however it is starting to get quite full. There is probably less than five more spaces before cachers will have to sign off on top of each other.

Solved most of this most enjoyable puzzle series a while ago but had only been to find a couple of them. Today I needed a cache to fill my calendar so popped over to this one which had a convenient car park near it. Loved this puzzle, caught onto what was rewuired quite quickly but needed a nudge to use the correct version. Love how the series theme comes up in different ways in each puzzle. A relatively quick find today. TFTC OzHockeyChick

This 7 series has been taunting me, despite not being overly adept at puzzle caches. A little prompting and making sure I was on the right track with a PAF, saw the checker go green and was all green lights to GZ. Very well executed puzzle, impressive indeedVery clever little hiding spot on this one

26-Jul-24
Found it! Yay! Having finally solved the puzzle last evening, we set out after work tonight to find the cache. At GZ there were lots of places to look in, under and up. I even found an empty sistema container under a bush. It may become a cache! Anyway, something eventually caught my eye and the cache was in my hand. Unfortunately my pen of choice will only leave a blue smudge on the log. The puzzle I managed the first step but got stuck on the second. After an extra hint from a previous finder I made the connection and got the green tick. A clever puzzle and clever hide. TFTC SL

14-Jul-24
I admit I did not solve this one. I tried several things but nothing came together. I had all the rest solved and made a quick find at GZ today walking the trail through a process of elimination from the other solved puzzles and the hint, plus reading of the online logs. I now have the solved co-ordinates so will try to backward map a solution to the puzzle!

We admit to achieving the answer through another cacher for this one. This was a very creative well hidden hide, a top job! Thanks OzHockeyChick

We spent quite a while on this puzzle some time ago, but with no success. The CO confirmed we had the initial approach correct, but there was a second step I was clearly missing. Another episode of "saying things out loud" as with another puzzle in this series, and I had the lightbulb moment to convert the seemingly nonsensical digits into a set of coordinates.
We couldn't not find a cache or two on International Geocaching Day, so our daughter and I set out in the afternoon sunshine to search. A nicely hidden little container here. All in good condition.

23-Feb-22
In Melbourne for 2 days to help celebrate the palindromic date with fellow cachers last night, we worked through a presolved mystery list as well as adding some labcaches and multis into the mix. We started at the bottom and worked our way up to the top picking up the 7 series which was different to solving the puzzles. It was all over the shop, I'd solve one then get stuck on the next so a kind nudge or 3 was given to get me through the series. A very clever themed geoart. Smile
Thanks OzHockeyChick for the 7 mystery series.

22-Feb-22
Made the trip over to Mooroolbark for the Palindrome event this evening and since I was early I parked the Geowagon at the event and I had time to set of on foot and do this great series that I had worked out before hand.
Some of the puzzles I got a nudge for as to everyone who knows me they know my brain doesn’t work that way.
All I can say to anyone that does this great series is HILLS and MORE HILLS.
This is a nice path to follow and starting to walk past peoples back yards that have a few horses in them but plenty of signs saying as to not feed them.
I started this one and got so far so after a hint I worked out what to do next.
I can only hope that I remember a lot of these nudges and hints for next time.
This one was a sneaky and clever hide and happy to find it.
Another good find with great coords.

Thanks OzHockeyChick TFTC.

With minimal musical knowledge, this was the other puzzle in this Seven series that I required assistance with. Fortunately, I had no problem finding the cache, while out and about with Echidna44.

18-Jan-22
Out with BoabTree, we had a very successful day caching in the Croydon area.
I have some musical knowledge, so got part way through solving, then came to a complete stop. Further help enabled me to find the very sneaky hide. Thanks OzHockeyChick.

Accompanied with silence49, we had a great time finding your cache OzHockeyChick, thank you so much for placing it.

Merry Christmas!
With the family stuff done by 2pm it was time to use this single day of the year with no traffic and muggles to find a cache and this was it. Did get a nudge on the puzzle and very clever once more. A quick find at GZ taking a long walk from where the car was parked. Nice area and another in series completed and another calendar square for this type too fill too, double highfive... Big Grin

Out and about with pprass like the good old days. Loved solving these puzzles but needed a hand here as I am not musical at all. Interesting pieced of storage here. Nice ease find here. Thanks OzHockeyChick for those tricky fun puzzles and the cache

Out for a walk with Manfred and BeckNmonts along this trail, although I don’t know quite how long we will last for, it is hot! And the sun is a bit blinding reflecting off the bright white foot path! Thanks OHC for the fun!

23-Nov-21
Manfred and I were out picking up some new items for his waedrobe. Yep, a lead! He wasn’t too impressed, but was happy that he got to go for a walk! Thanks for placing the cache OzHockeyChick, and for the puzzle. A favourite point for the puzzle.

This was a well hidden little thing after a short run of Dnfs - tftc

As I had no success in solving the puzzle I resorted to low cunning. I picked up hints and pointers here and there and the cache was in the second place I looked. I took a 'mark' with my GPSr and now I will have to go back to the puzzle and work out the method. Thank you for the mental workout.

Find number 9657 at 2:19:48 pm on Tuesday the 7 September 2021
Solved the puzzle some time ago but I have been saving my local caches for times of dire straits, hmm, soulds like a good name for a band...
Anyway, here I am in lockdown and needing an unknown for a date not found Smile, but not anymore.
Nice quick find although I did have to wait out a couple of mums with about 6 kids out for a walk to visit the horses Smile
**Thanks for placing this cache OzHockeyChick**

I gave HeliKelli a call this week to see if she wanted to do these caches we had solved ages ago. I also starting to clear my 5km circle. After parking one of our cars at one end we set off from the other end. Lovely walk location. I really loved this cache hide. Thanks for the cache.

It took some googling and then further massaging of the results to get sensible numbers from this puzzle. There's a few potential red herrings in this puzzle -at least to me - I always go down wrong paths! Could hear singing from the church today as I extracted the sneaky hide this Sunday morning.

Find #11611

This calendar puzzle challenge is getting harder and harder. Luckily I had some time tonight, so headed a bit further afield for today's smiley. I had scoped out a shortcut to this one on a previous visit and the cache was quickly in hand.

Thanks to OzHockeyChick for the cache.

It was such a beautiful day and with Mr Crackers working away at an air show in Sydney Mrs Crackers decided to head to Mooroolbark to do the adventure lab and then go for a walk to find some puzzles that had been solved while we were stuck at home last year.

Unfortunately she was only successful on five of the seven both starting and finishing with Dnf's but it was such a beautiful autumn day it didn't seem to matter that much.
This was one of the harder puzzles to solve and it also appeared as though it was going to be another dnf so she rang a previous finder who pointed her in the right direction, and then there was that doh! moment.

Thanks again OzHockeyChick for the cache.

Today we were out to attend ahomburg’s Five Oh event and grab some caches. It’s great weather for cache and cake!

I joined the CO on a short maintenance run ahead of the event. I hadn’t solved this one so spend some time on it the night before. I see what you did there... nice!

Waited for a muggle to pass by and made the quick find. No need for maintenance here today!

Thanks OzHockeyChick for the cache and yet another chance to twist my brain.

Another of this great series found today. Needed assistance with the puzzle but the hide was surprisingly quick to reveal itself.

Thanks heaps for the cache

During the 2020 pandemic, when there wasn’t much else to do and we couldn’t get out much and cache, we solved a lot of puzzles. This series was probably my favourite. I made it my mission to solve one a day for a week without any help. I managed to get six of them but never worked out the cherry pie. This was my favourite of the seven puzzles. As a musician, I was troubled by how many times I had to come back to it. I was very relieved when I finally made the connection. Today we came out to pick up some of them with our bikes. It was raining as we arrived but we gave two of them a shot all the same. It took longer than it should but my youngest found it in the end. Thanks for the great puzzles Oz Hockey Chick. A great series. We will be back

This puzzle proved to be a very difficult puzzle to solve but eventually we found our way through to solving it. It took me a while to get the hang of the shape of the Geoart being a bit of a hint. We parked near this cache, which was found quickly and used it as the starting point for a walk to find three of the series. With the pleasant company of jebjeb we enjoyed the walk and finds while The Driver drove to the other end to meet us after the walk to save us time and energy.

We found this cache today on our Mooroolbark Morning Meander. Really doubted that this one was there till I realised that I had overlooked the obvious. Thanks from D & HA B-A

We had solved the puzzles some time ago but with the 5 km Covid 19 lockdown limit we restricted in what we could find and this series was a little further away than 5 km. But with the recent change to restrictions we could now venture further afield for exercise. The puzzle was solved without difficulty. The cache was quickly retrieved after checking a couple of likely spots. Thanks to OzHockeyChick for the puzzle and the cache.

A tad late as even after all this time, I just discovered a pile of drafts! This one seems simple and even if you did study music, it turn out that won’t get you to GZ! Fun either way once you get how to work the keys. And no, I did not do it on my own! I needed a nudge for some of the seven series and luckily I have made a couple of buddies who became coaches from time to time. So a big thanks to they who gave me a shove in a new direction and a strategy for looking differently when needed. In Melbs on caring duty to spend time with mum Mollie and lucky for me she is close by so able to head off on the trusty MTB and find a few caches in iso. Not so many peoples around late in the day either and the rain is threatening. Found this one easily with the hint. TFTC CO and challenging fun mind bending distractions

With my wife looking for a long run on a rail trail, the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail was suggested. As such with my wife doing that 35+ Kiliometer run, we had some Geocaching time before having to meet her in Warburton. With my L Plate son driving, 999HK helping and me navigating, we were able to find 15 caches for the day

These puzzles were some of the targeted caches for the day. I would have considered rushing off to try for the FTF when they were released, but they were just too far away. This was the fist time we have been in the area since. I tried solving this one, but its something I know nothing about. Lucky for me, the rest of the family understands this language and Son1 was ableto give me the answer

This cache took too long to find as it had fallen down further, and after finally finding it, I was just able to get it. Hopefully it stays put this time

Thanks for the cache Oz Hockey Chick

Passing by to have coffee with my bestie and had a few minutes to collect a cache along the way. The Welder and I had fun solving these when the series first came out. With my geokids today, so the find was made by geoninja aka master eight. Thanks for the cache!

We do like these musical numbers.
At GZ we again searched for quite a while before we spotted something that later seemed blatantly obvious.
Thanks OzHockeyChick for this series of puzzle caches.

Decided to tackle these since they were solved in readiness a while ago and the restrictions have lifted.
Thought I would be able to ride my origami bike with little wheels but soon decided that walking would be the best option.
Took a while to work this one out.
Good clue led me straight to it again.

Had a great day out caching today with a total of 70 Puzzle cache finds for the day, I started of the day doing the Auslan series with My good caching Mate Omegaman 1971 before heading over to My old stomping ground to finally find some puzzles that had been in the solve pile for some time, while in the area I visited My granddaughter who I had not seen since February so that just topped the day off.

Thanks OzHockeyChick for the cache.

I’ll have you know OHC, that I passed a music exam with honours as a kid, all of which was no help to solve this puzzle. Mum picked up this old, huge piano that was so badly in need of a tune, and took up practically the entire area of our small entry hall for years, so that every time we came through the door, it would bang against this monstrosity. Of course she made us take piano lessons, which my brother & I hated until the day she realised she was wasting her money. Not sure how many years we kept the piano, but it was finally removed, in the exact condition it came to us.....out of tune. Now, I would love to be able to play a musical instrument.

Great puzzle OHC that I over thought, so again, took awhile to get the tick. Thanks again for this series.

This is another cache we found today with Knight_shift and Skylizard. It was a lovely day for a walk and we, along with Crusty K9, enjoyed our first day of caching together after the coronavirus lock down. Thanks OHC.

15 Feb 2020: Streak Day #352/366 (1 March 2019 - 29 February 2020). My daughter helped me with google for something which I am not familiar with it. Clever hide, took me a while to find this as I weren't thinking properly as I expected a quick find here! Thanks OzHockeyChick for another awesome puzzle.

I got one part of this puzzle easily enough but the next bit took a while too long. Walked into GZ and saw the generous clue. After that it was only a matter of time.

Rewarded for not committing any of these sins by solving the puzzle and finding the cache. tftc

Not sure how far into the streak I am but keeping it going until I get a chance to check. Always wondered why there were no caches along this tract of land. Don't want to think how many more could continue along here. Thanks for the cache.

Geoturtle needs to fulfill a streak for a challenge she signed at St Arnaud so this was nice and close for us today. Was a quick find when we looked in the correct location. Thanks for the cache and a puzzle we could do.

Found at 1:57 pm.
After a couple of micro adventure caches up in Kinglake National Park we were a bit tired but we still had 30%+ battery left on the bikes so we decided to do these 7 puzzles that we had both solved a little while back. We even managed to sign a few of these today in 7th position on the logs and found all 7 safe and sound and no DNF's.

With my couple of months of piano lessons I did back as kid I thought this would be right up my alley. My first try I got nothing and came back to it and then realised what I did wrong.
Nice easy find here once the same dog muggle as the cache had moved off the trail.
Thanks OzHockeyChick for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

08-Dec-19
Today's plan was an early start with Spiffy- and the electric bikes to tackle some of the more serious caches. We were badly prepared for the heads and tools needed so focused on the multis and the virtual. It is not always the numbers and today was more the adventure we were after. Even with high powered stealth electric bikes it was still a big effort and we have many scratches and lots sweat to show for our effort. But a great day and some nice smileys.

With some battery power left and some spare time we decided on some caching in Mooroolbark to collect some solved puzzles.

Took quite a bit of trying this and that before the solution appeared. The hide was straight forward with the hint though.

Thanks to OzHockeyChick for the placement and fun.

I was sat at work yesterday, just about to shutdown the PC for the day, when I thought that I would check which ECs I hadn't done so that I could grab a souvenir at the weekend. It was then that I noticed some geo-art that I had missed...a new OHC puzzle series...that was it I had to solve them and grab them ASAP.

I solved one of the puzzles before I left work and then plodded through another 4 (with glass of wine in hand). I parked the last 2 until this morning. Just before I left I managed to solve one of them however the final puzzle eluded me.

Whilst wandering between the caches I had an epiphany...I verified my thoughts online and had the final puzzle solved.

Another fantastic puzzle that I managed to get the better of quite quickly. TFTC.

With no musical knowledge I struggled initially but remembered GIYF and after a crash course in musical theory I managed to solve the first part of the problem .. after a chat with another catcher I realised I had overlooked a rather important clue and was able to solve the second part. The actual cache was carefully hidden from view but was quickly found. Thanks OzHockeyChick for creating this cache

Decided to tackle these seven caches today in the company of quiet1_au and GJMMelb. This was our first. Spotted immediately by G. TFTC and puzzle!

06-Oct-19
After solving a few of these puzzles solo and the others with the team, we (lochb, G' GJMMelb and I) headed out to pick them up on what looked to be a potentially rainy caching run. Only it wasn't so we had a pleasant walk for most of them. This puzzle I tried a few things but put it aside, G' made a breakthrough and the penny dropped how to decode it - I think the second attempt got the green tick of approval. Parking in the close by carpark we headed for this one first and G' quickly spotted it. TFTC

Lochb, Quiet1_au and ourselves had a puzzles solving day recently and got these puzzles sorted. This one was not too hard although I am more familiar with the Treble than Bass, unlike Q who admittted to having four Bass guitars. Today we got together after a longish time going our own ways (and places). We decided to target these caches today and hoped there might be some shade along the trail. Q had the corrected coordinates which I had not had a chance to put into GSAK. We parked at the church and walked to Gz where I saw something obvious in an expected place. We soon logged the cache and set off for the next. Thanks OzHockeyChick

In the area between appointments and had just enough time for a few caches on my to do list.

Cheers for the puzzle and series OzHockeyChick.

Couldn’t solve it but found it found it found it found the it! . Tonight I thought I would walk the likely route, 7.5km round trip, and see if I get any geotinglez on the way. SURE DID! Found two I couldn’t solve! Yippee yippee! winner winner chicken dinner! And back to the puzzles.... “raspberry noise!”

Yet another Stf, it’s looking likely I’ll be the first to do all se7en, nice views from here. I’m not a musically inclined person, I am amazed when people can hear a note, a tune, a chord and know what it is. So reading music is not my forte either, but google helped me get the notes and the subtle hints got me over the line. I used some of this solve method to create my milestone artwork Smile

Thanks OzHockeyChick for 7: Bass
