17:14I had to go help a friend in Gisborne with his Internet connection... he'd been using the same dongle for the better part of a decade, and now it doesn't work because of the 3G shutdown. With his computer hooked back to the outside world through his phone, I was free to go and play...I've been sitting on a couple of solved Reservoir puzzles since the first lockdowns, so today seemed perfect for a drive out to see if I could convert the work to smileys. One down... off to the next.I was really close to this one during the Cache Crawl, but got stymied by the weather and a locked gate.No such problem with the approach this afternoon. Thanks, feathertop. Last time I was in this particular place, I was chasing a fellow cacher's relatives to complete a mad multi that had since been archived. The cache was a nice easy find.#9364

I had solved this puzzle a while ago and was in the area today grabbing a FTF and made a detour to grab this one. I made the long walk across them up to GZ. Took a few photos and signed the log book. All good here. TFTC Feathertop

This puzzle must have been sitting solved for quite some time... today it went on my hit list as I knew I would be passing through carrying different cargo than what I would have carried on my previous visits to this town..these types of GZ always fasinate me but I know that snakes also love the peacefulness here so I was on guard especially after spotting one at the last cache...

An interesting puzzle cache. Certainly took time and effort working it out. But well worth it for the final location. Thanks for bringing me here.

Travelling with the gorgeous Snap Happy and the lovely TheDame. We found this with others whilst on the Great Victorian Cache Crawl weekend - what a wonderful time we had! Thanks so much feathertop for placing this cache.

17-Aug-24
The cache crawl was on and this year apart from the Friday night dinner which I couldn't make it to I will be doing the whole crawl. Hopefully the weather gets better because it hasn't started that well. My daughter loves a jigsaw so she did the puzzle part for me and today unsurprisingly, when I arrived it was raining so there was no one around. Deployed the umbrella went for a short walk and found the cache in the first place I looked with a nice view of the reservoir. Thanks feathertop for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

17-Aug-24
As I recall, this one took over 3 hours to solve, but was a quick find at GZ. With LetThemEatCache on the cache crawl and we'd both solved it and had it on our lists. Took the TB and dipped 18 others. Met at least 6 other cachers as we walked out!

I planned to attend only two of today's Cache crawl events, and spend the rest of the day chasing Adlabs, with just a few extras thrown in to break the journey. I arrived just as Cracknleelee and Ultimategeacacheteam were getting out of their cars, so I tagged along for a quick find. Many thanks to feathertop for the cache.

17-Aug-24
I worked on this one before I left home in readiness for the trip. This was a nice easy find on quite a drizzly day.

17-Aug-24
As I pulled up to this location 5 cars left. They had all just found this cache. This was another enjoyable puzzle to solve with a good view of the reservoir at GZ. Thank you feathertop for placing and maintaining Malmsbury Reservoir for us to find today.

Running late for the event nearby, we dashed through the rain to make a quick find. What an amazing view of the reservoir from this vantage point. Bonus points for making me visit another old cemetery!

Fourth and final day of a geocaching adventure with Robmc. Today we woke in Pyramid Hill and began to make our way home, roughly via Bendigo, sort of.So by now we were just doing whatever we came across. Mostly some of Robmc's solved puzzles. TFTC!

Well its the long weekend and I was wondering what to do so a trip up to Bendigo was called for. This weekend will help me continue along with my streak which I want to get to 183 as any more is just to hard to achieve.Im having to resort to detours on the way home from work but a weekend trip away will help me along and also any excuse to get out of Melbourne is a great idea. After a great day yesterday of caching and sight seeing and a good nights rest (after finding somewhere to stay as Bendigo appears to be booked out) its time for some more caching and to slowly make my way home.It has been a while since I have called into Malmsbury and I have a feeling that I will be back in a couple of months. Now this one took awhile to solve on the computer but I got there eventually.A great spot to view the reservoir from here and after a quick search I added my name to the log. Thanks feathertop TFTC.

Visiting friends in Malmsbury. Last time I was here had not solved puzzle, now have solution so was full steam ahead to locate. My muggle friend got quite enthusiastic about the search. My gps was all over the place, sending me in different directions. As I got closer to location it settled down and find easily made. Beautiful area, great views. TFTC

On our way from Bendigo to Ledgerder national park we thought we would stop for a few caches in Malmesbury and Daylesford on our way.
After solving the puzzle for this cache a few days earlier, it took us a bit to work out where we should be looking as we stumbled around for about 1/2 hour I finally found where I believed would be the perfect safe place for a cache, and hallelujah we had it in hand.

22-Jul-23
A weekend caching with k9team, we made our way towards Baccus Marsh first stopping in marlsbury and then Daylesford to pick up some caches along the way. Over the day we found 26 caches consisting of multi's Mysteries Virtual and of course traditional caches. Thanks to all the Co's for making it an interesting day.

Having solved the puzzle arfter working on it for years then realising I could actually save my progress it still took me 7hrs to complete. Very happy to finaly claim the smiley here.

Found on a little weekend getaway to Malmsbury over the weekend. We had solved this puzzle a few days in advance and now was time to collect our prize. Loved the walk through the area, very peaceful and serene. Thanks for bringing us here!!

30-Jul-22
It had taken quite a few hours to solve the puzzle on an iPad! Arriving near GZ we came across a couple of fishermen and they followed us as we made the way towards GZ. Fortunately they turned towards the lake and we could search without a problem. Thanks to feather top for the puzzle and cache.

Any good girls weekend away needs some caches, right? We solved this before the weekend and despite it being very cold and wet we braved it to this cache. We like doing jigsaw puzzles and enjoyed visiting this dam. We enjoyed the walk to the cache and found it fascinating. This cache is very clean and dry. Tftc.

I loved doing this jigsaw, quite relaxing.

We have settled into our new base on Mt Alexander and ducking out from time to time to grab some nearby caches.

We needed a puzzle today so headed down to Malmsbury to grab this cache. A nice spot with a good view.

Thanks feathertop for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC feathertop
Find #8113 at 12:32.

11-Jan-22
Found out caching with Wollaston on a slow meander north. Interesting that there is a cemetery so close to the reservoir. Checked out the loos and glad we weren’t in need

A favourite point for several reasons, not just for the cemetery walk but the water history lesson as we have several water supply themed caches in Warrnambool.

Container condition good
Log condition lots of room

Thanks to CO’s for taking time to set out and maintain hides and for showing us your very special part of the world

Log signed in first open spot with stamp

How excited was I when I discovered where this was located! Woohoo, what a lovely spot. Was worried as the phone was down to 13%, not sure how that happened and how'd I could find out quickly, which I did. Thank you so much for bringing me here!

A day to myself meant a Geocaching drive picking up some golden oldies and random caches along the way. Wow. What a magical final location. Fav point added. Many thanks for the cache.

The puzzle was completed long ago. Today, while passing through the area I made my way to the cache. What a lovely area and a ripper view of the Malmsbury Reservoir, even when the water level is low. Thanks feathertop for the puzzle and bringing me to an area I would have been unlikely to visit if not for caching.

What a beautiful area!
Making the most of the long weekend. On our journey across to Daylesford we decided to stop and find a few caches in Malmesbury.
Solved this puzzle last week in preparation. Really enjoyed it.
thanks for adding it to the game board feathertop!

We have been visiting dad in Portland for a few days and decided to take another trip to Ballarat on the way home and spend a night here to get started this morning on finishing the Geo Tour.
We woke up to a very drizzly overcast day but happily each cache was found during a break in the showers.

We had finished the tour and according to BOM the weather looked a bit better out this way so we headed over here to try our luck at the lab and when we had finished we decided to head over to this one. Diane loves jigsaws and this one has been solved for awhile so today was a good day to go and try our luck. After a nice walk through a very interesting area we had an unexpected view and after following the needle to gz we were also rewarded with a nice easy find and we have added our name to the log.

Many thanks feathertop for the puzzle and the cache.

This was a team effort with our sister and brother-in-law, baby&Mrs gopher who are currently stranded in Maryborough, Qld. with b.g. recovering from micro surgery on his thumb as they wait for the insurance company to complete the paperwork so they can replace their tow vehicle.
Their vehicle was written off after being hit by an unlicenced and drug effected driver in a stolen car driving on the wrong side as they turned left.
I mentioned this puzzle to my sister and they completed the challenge and forwarded the results to us to find today on a glorious day in a delightful area with all the colours of Autumn.
Our thanks to feathertop for creating this challenge and bringing us to this location with sensational views of the reservoir.

26-Apr-21
You seem to have a knack of finding lovely, peaceful locations feathertop. This was a very pleasant site, with a wonderful view across the reservoir, but it would look better with more water. There were several people around, enjoying the wonderful weather, but I was able to locate and sign the log without being noticed.
Thanks for bringing me here.

So I may of went the wrong way to begin with, as it took me ages to even find somewhere it could be, after going back to the car to get my partner to help me, we found a better way so second look lucky, found it this time alot easier, all In grey condition thankyou for the challange and find,

This place is beautiful, with water right around it's sad how half way though it doesn't get looked after as good as it's very over grown. But over all very beautiful. Thankyou

29-Oct-20
Suscoe decided to have a day out caching in the area from north east of Daylesford up to Malmsbury and places in between.
We left home very early in heavy fog, once we hit the Brisbane Ranges we had blue sky and gradually the cloud headed in from the west.
It was a pleasant day all round with almost no wind, plenty of sunshine early on and some rain on the return journey this afternoon.

It was delightful to be able to head up this way, beautiful countryside and the reservoirs looked very full.

Thanks to feathertop for this puzzle and cache, all quiet here today.

These places always have the best views. Great cache and puzzle

Find #2407 for me. Found at `2:14 pm while visiting the area from Bendigo. This was my third and final find today after the recent COVID-19 lock-down restrictions were relaxed to allow for non-essential outdoor activities. My first stop was Hepburn Springs because my mineral water supply had dried up during lock-down and I really wanted some more. Tap water tastes terrible in comparison! And why not pick up a few caches on my way home? And on such a wonderful day too! I detoured to Malmsbury specifically for this cache as I wanted a puzzle cache to fill an empty calendar date for mystery caches. I'm a long way off completing that personal calendar challenge but I like to plan ahead. I loved the puzzle too by the way! I've completed all of the Reservoir puzzles but this is only my second find in this series so far. Still hoping for a D5 jigsaw puzzle with even more pieces, but this one was still pretty cool! Thanks for bringing me here today feathertop and thanks for the cache!

13-May-20
Restrictions lifted

31-Mar-20
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. Advice is to stay home and geocaching is just a game. Geocaching encourages non essential travel and contact transmission is an issue so it is the responsible thing to avoid caching at the moment.
Thanks.

29-Feb-20
Being a leap year, I'm sure there were a lot of fellow cache hunters out and about today. With a handful of juicy geocaches loaded into the GPSr, I hit the road with Na'wal. We had the kayak, the extendable ladder and a fridge full of goodies. Once again we had a very successful day, with no DNF's, but we did come close on a few.....

A pleasant walk and a nice easy find at gz. A great view here as well, a nice reward for a time consuming puzzle. TFTC feathertop Big Grin

I leaped out of bed very early this morning to meet up with DAB to make the most of 2020's leap day. We were keen to get out on the road early and see what was in store for us. We had a list of caches we wanted to check off. We packed the geo wheels with plenty of supplies and took off in the early hours of the morning. And what a fantastic day it was!

After more than 3 hours solving this puzzle over a few nights, it was time to collect it after the hard work. A scenic location here that was muggle free for us today. A quick find once in place.

**Our thanks to feathertop for placing this cache for us to find and enjoy**

This was a beautiful area for the cemetery alone.

Don't often find myself saying that about cemetaries. But this one is a really nice little spot.

Aysen didn't even wake up, he was conked out after the Blackwood hike. Mouth open, eyes back, back seat reclining.

A great view of the reservoir here. I really love this part of town.

Just my kind of cache. Location, location, location.

A FP from me.

16-Feb-20
I can’t take the credit for solving this one. Although for once this is a puzzle I could have solved - an obvious solution instead of guesswork! Out with Jacko83 for a caching day today and he was the one who did the hard work here. Loved loved loved the spot for GZ. Beautiful afternoon sun after a misty morning. A great day exploring. I’ll have to owe you a FP.

08-Feb-20
With all the reservoir jigsaws taken ago many months ago we finally had the opportunity to complete the series today as we head back south towards Geelong. This hidden gem was a delight to visit as we argued over the fact Google was taking us the wrong way, which she wasn't of coarse, we just didn't expect to be parking where we were. We admired the view at GZ as well as the memorials along the way.
Thanks feathertop for bringing us here.

17-Jan-20
TFTC. A 7h12m marathon to solve this puzzle. Never going to be quick with these things. We were on the way back from Melbourne to Maryborough we stopped here to find the two caches at Malmsbury Reservoir. Without giving anything away there is always a hard way and an easy way to a cache. When we arrived at GZ we then saw the easy way. Nevertheless an great placement and much needed excercise.

As per my previous write note, this was an epic jigsaw to complete, so satisfying once I finished it, and had planned to turn it into a smilie the day of the Lauriston Event. But it too ended up being a bit far out of my way.
Fast forward to today and we are on our way to Nagambie for a week's holiday which presented the perfect opportunity to find it as I made sure my route took us to this area.
Drove into the first part of the area where the cache was hiding then realised my brand new caravan probably won't fit through those gates! So Mrs and daughter Perpetuallylost waited in the airconditioned car while I made the long walk to the final. I add that I thought it was quite a picturesque walk too, with some interesting and notable landmarks in the area, but I won't post pics so as not to give any spoilers.
Thanks feathertop for the challenging puzzle, and for the interesting place it was hidden. FP for this one. Cheers.

Finally, after 5hrs and 56 mins, Puzzle is solved! Hopefully finding the final won't take as long. Thx feathertop

27-Oct-19
Mr Riddell took a long time to do the puzzle but he got there!
We had to make the find on the way home from a weekend away in Harcourt after doing a 42 km marathon walk in the forests surrounding Castlemaine with our Bushwalking Club.

We were very pleasantly surprised at GZ.
What a lovely spot in such a beautiful location and views.

Thanks for the entertaining puzzle, location and views at sunset and of course, the cache.

06-Oct-19
Out and about on a perfect afternoon with Bogonghazy and 6hinemoa2 to complete this series and find some other local caches. I used to live in this area so it was nice to revisit old memories.
A nice walk thru the cemetery with great view of the reservoir. A quick find by BH as he was taller than me to reach. Thanks Feathertop

Happy to be 4th TF as we take a different set of roads to Ballarat for a weekend with friends and fellow cachers Markndee. Took a number of hours and at least two attempts to finish the puzzle. We have to say it was much easier to find and log the cache. SL at 4.20pm Left: gold eagle PT. Nice to enjoy some rain as we walked to GZ. #6517 TFTC and the time-consuming puzzle feathertop. Now off to find your other much older cache in the area.

13-Sep-19
Very surprised to find that we are second and third to find on this cache. Heading up to Castlemaine for the event tomorrow and decided to leave today and take a more leisurely drive. Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us here. Stunning view.

13-Sep-19
Was up this way recently but didn't have this solved. Today, whilst on our way to Castlemaine, we had the time and final coords. After a short rather windy walk, we were rewarded with a great view and cache. Thanks for bringing us here.

*FTF* -yeah.
Well this was a mammoth effort and I love completing jigsaw puzzles. 4 hours 43 minutes1 It was those grasses in the front of the picture that slowed me down.
After walking into the Lederderg Gorge this morning I dropped Alan off to visit the doctor for a blood test and I headed off up this way in the hope that there was still a FTF available.
(After being caught at Mt Sugarloaf with the first finder not logging it quickly, I was taking a risk that it wouldn't happen again.)
The jigsaw picture was good but the scenery at GZ was even better. I drove as far as I could and then walked the rest of the way to discover a nice sized container and a blank first page at GZ.
I had a great afternoon collecting both multis and puzzles before reaching home much later than expected.
Thanks for the chance to have a pleasant afternoon drive feathertop
