19-May-24
DNF despite a good look around

21-Apr-24
This is the one on this trail that I can't find. I'll be back for it though.

14-Jan-24
Out for a day Rail Trail on bike riding with GWD.aussie and D@geo. Rode from Mirboo North to Boolarra collecting caches along the way. Thanks ducky_legs

14-Jan-24
Found with gwd.aussie and Sharon14. Have been on my radar to do the caches along the Grand Ridge Rail Trail - the search took quite a while almost thought would have to log a DNF but thankfully gwd.aussie finally came up with the goods. Thanks ducky_legs

14-Jan-24
I don't know what i can say about this cache.Except it took a while and it was nasty.Out caching with Sharon14 & D@geoThank you for the cache ducky_legs

17-Dec-23
Yep. Nasty. Found after a decent search Im not gunna lie TFTC

17-Dec-23
Out for the maiden trip on my new ebike when Favourite Seat was found. It took a while to find, the camo kept it very well hidden from my searching eyes. The resident kookaburras keep me company and laughed at my searching antics. Thanks ducky legs and giraffe legs for setting up and maintaining this cache. PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my great caching adventures today.

18-Nov-23
Back to search for this one again, this time with a hint from a PAF. Ive searched several times before. It still took a while, even with an idea of what I was looking for. I eventually located the very well camod cache. Log was impossible to extract with TOTT and CO notified. Im also curious if theres been a little cache creep?A favourite point for the excellent camo construction, and thanks to the previous logger for the hint about the plantation tracks to get closer access

14-Oct-23
Wow..EVIL with bigger than big Capitals lol...no wonder I could not find this cache last time I was looking. Today I had a PAF with me who had previously found this cache and had thankfully made notes. Very sneaky and clever. Worthy of a fav point for construction. Thankfully I did not need to walk many km to get to GZ today. In my head I thought there was parking at this cache, but I had obviously mixed things up. So we sneakly drove along the pine plantation track and found a trail in from 300 meters.

28-Sep-23
Day two of a short trip into Gippsland with the deadly treadly for some caches. This morning I started in Morwell at the Crinigan Bushland Reserve.I then went to Churchill and rode the loop of the LV Event caches and some of the Winston Wander Extension caches. Finished off the day on the GRT.A nice ride around on a mild day.I parked in the middle at Darlimurla station and rode firstly to Mirboo North, then back towards Boolarra. Can't say this was my favourite seat today, although I spent a bit of time here. Thanks, Robmc.

27-Jan-23
Maintenance ride done by giraffe_legs today. Cache in good order, ready to be found.

29-Dec-22
Today I had 2 missions,
1. to find go for an early morning walk to hopefully redeem this previous DNF and
2. to find caches from sixy2sue mystery solves which have been in 'the pile of OMG' for over a year.
It is the most gorgeous morning to be out here on the Trail. With no expectations I started a search and cursed that I had forgotten my gloves. But all good. Great construction, love the simplicity yet appropriateness. Thanks for the cache ducky_legs & giraffe_legs - I have the craziest vision of what you two look like in my head.

05-Aug-22
Finally found it. Wow this is a classy cache

Out for a days Rail Trail eBike riding with gmj3191 and both our better halves, MuggleWifeDoes and PamJ. Rode from Mirboo North to Boolarra collecting caches along the way. We stopped at the Boolarra Store for lunch before returning uphill to our cars at Mirboo North.
'Twas a glorious day for a ride in the country and this location totally lived up to all our expectations.
Sneaky little sucker, this one, had a good look around all over the place but gmj3191 came up with the goods.
**Thanks for placing this cache ducky_legs**

Doing the Grand Ridge Rail Trail today with PamJ, BernieH, and Mugglewife. This is one of the caches we did along the way.

A cunning and clever hide, which took us a while to find.
It's in great condition. Another lovely location. Good coordinates.
**Thanks for the fun ducky_legs**

Nice cammo and a little away from where I expected. No wildlife spotted this time but giant toadstools were amazing.

23-Apr-22
I tried twice with this one ....I even tried approaching it for different directions..this was my 1 and only DNF today ...I'm super curious to were it could have been.

08-Apr-22
Scrolling through the log for hints but still no find. Not ashamed of this one looking at the callibre of of other DNF cachers.

This one took us the longest to find of our 8 on the trail today; the kids searched the obvious and I ended up back there too after trying other options without success. In the end, Kato came up with a section which was worth commenting on.....then found the actual cache. TFTC Legs

26-Sep-21
The first perfect weather day we've had these holidays and the offer for some good company, well who could resist a rail trail stroll with 4 kids on bikes, 2 dogs, 4 masked adults and a picnic lunch? We thoroughly enjoyed the 10km walk/ ride to get some new caches with the Mummy Short Legs crew. Having learnt from other caches on the trail, we did not focus on the obvious here. Rather, after finding several 8 legged beasties making their home in the nearby growth, I got on hands and knees and soon turned up part of this clever cache.. other part with log attached found soon after. Nice hide! TFTC!

25-Sep-21
We looks forward ages, high and low, and beyond the obvious structure. We stopped and looked on our ride in and again on our way home. No luck for us today

01-Aug-21
This one got us beat

03-Feb-21
I got a Message from Skipair with a suggestion of heading to the Mirboo North and Boolarra area to tackle the GRT trail, I had been looking at those for some time but My driving is very limited at the moment so its great to have friends to drive you around and chat with. We also did several other caches in the area, most of the trail was walked as I am unable to ride a bike after being hit by a truck. This is a beautiful area to visit with several great view locations and we certainly took a few roads that are less traveled today.

This is one of the caches we found on our travels.

Logs signed as RASP

Thanks ducky_legs for the cache.

This is where our luck started to shake a bit. Using our trusty method of navigation, a combination of maps, GPS and following our noses down some forestry tracks, can only take us so far. However it did eventually take us to the cache, despite a walk through uncharted woods. We hope that this is the last big challenge, but fear we are due for disappointment! The cache was a straightforward hide found after not too much looking

Out and about with Rebel Acts again, so many of the caches will be signed RASP.
For the first 6 years of our married life Mr SKI was the head teacher at Budgeree Primary School so this is an area we used to know quite well. It is also of the prettiest areas in Gippsland, full of productive farms that used to mainly be dairy. Now a lot of them have diversified and you can see beef cattle, alpacas and goats as well the large dairy herds. And of course the spuds! There are also pockets of native forest and plantation forest tucked away as you drive the mainly winding and hilly roads. Good for the soul.

Well a dnf. The geo dog was no help and preferred rolling in stuff. So one set of eyes did not do it

22-Nov-20
I had tried to find this one a few years ago and finally got back for the re-search. Took awhile with 2 pairs of eyes and we had some idea of what we might be looking for and finally WWTGold came up with the goods.

Cache back in place. As advised in description - please treat it carefully and replace as found.

10-Oct-20
My mum started using a stick to prod the bush and then realized that the cache might have been in it!! Please check the cache

10-Oct-20
Apparently this one has been muggled or damaged. We are away on holiday so will not be able to investigate for a few weeks. Sorry.

06-Sep-20
Well what a cracker of a day! Travelled to Boolara for our exercise, after parking the car we rode to Mirboo North for lunch (picked up a couple of caches along the way). Then we stopped to find the rest of the caches along the way.
Saw that a fellow geocacher that I had met previous was signing some of the logs with today's date so when we spotted him looking for a cache we had a good catchup.
Yep I knew it was too good to be true, my run of quick finds was over. the GPS was leading me around the place but finally settled done enough to start looking in earnest. I could see where the previous cacher had looked today but it took another 5 minutes before I come up with the tricky hide.

Reading the description I initially thought my GPS was off. It sent me across the path where I almost stood on a rather huge snake. Well I wasn't going to explore further there. Ok I admit I poked the snake to see if it was real, it was such an unusual colour. I can confirm it was very alive. Sorry snake. My GPS swung and I hunted all over the chair until it swung again. Searched the fence line. Hmm...swung again...Ok last time ...and there a suspicious item was. I pulled it out and spotted a shine. Cache found in good condition.

Found on an outing with my favourite Geocacher kryslazz. It had been a while Smile Enjoyed every find on this trail that I had never visited despite living localled. Can't wait to come back and finish it off, as it got dark before we could nab the last few.

Wish we had tweezers for this one!

Thank you for a lovely walk Smile

I’d wanted to get back on the trail for the last couple of weeks and when I saw a whole new bunch of caches had been released I thought, why not. Shai Marelle and I set off with Baby Henley in toe. When we left there were still some FTF and thought we might be lucky enough to snag a couple. I knew by the first cache we were out of luck as Hunter had been out here this morning before us. Oh well... I wasn’t overly fussed. This was far from a quick find lol just like the finders before searched for a while, but got it in the end TFTC

My wife had the plan of running a rail trail today while 999HK and I did geocaching on it. Which rail trail quickly got changed to be this one when all the new geocaches got released here. In the end, my wife ran the entire rail trail up, back and a half, a total of over 31 kilometres. We walked over 12.5 kilometres getting the middle section.

First visit here, we had no luck even with the GPS being very consistent pointing to the seat. After 20 minutes searching, even the smoking cows had given up. With no phone signal, I made a PAF but didn't expect any reply.

Fortunately somewhere between walking to and back from the next geocache, a reply came through with a hint. Got back to the seat to find a mother and her kids having a rest on the seat. But soon they left and after another 5 minutes. We soon had this very tricky cache found. Might need to double check the coordinates, but a favourite point given for this one and the series.

Now back to the car, meet my wife and have some lunch. Thanks for the adventure today.

Thanks for the cache and ducky legs & giraffe legs

17-May-20
No luck today finding this one

17-May-20
This one beat us. We checked every bolt, every knot hole of that seat. The fence, the nearby trees. If it's a bolt, they're all seized up.

17-May-20
No luck today but found a blue tongue lizard

Tftc Ducky & Giraffe. The first rain since the fires began this summer and when madam said she wanted to wash the floors at home, opportunity knocked. Grabbed geo-hound, my mtb and drove to Boolarra and parked.
Planned to get the lower four, although after the last at your favourite rest stop I did an uninterrupted ride up past Darlimurla and back (down-hill).
Nabbed the first three, not the fourth (this one). All found caches are in very good condition.

27-Dec-19
This one got me as well I'll be back again soon on the bike

14-Dec-19
The first sleepy Saturday in forever is the most perfect time to go for a little bush bashing adventure with muggle partner, kiddo’s and super amazing geo-dog
With bush bashin being the goal, this little loop of 7 became our target.
It’s raining it pouring the kids are bloody whining
We bailed to the car after a quick search for this cache. While waiting out the rain I used my phone a friend option. With a break in the rain I made a dash for GZ. Cache found, signed and returned before I dragged my soggy wet self back to the car.
Thanks for placing this cache.

25-Nov-19
Went for a quick ride and checked on the cache. All good, in place and good condition

23-Nov-19
This cache series has been on our wish list for a while. We have often planned to do this walk on our way home from visiting family in Foster or Boolarra South. We usually get distracted and it is too late in the day to attempt them. Today we babysat until lunchtime and so we finally enjoyed this walk along the rail trail. This was our first of four caches we attempted walking from Darlimula station. Thanks for the well concealed cache dl & gl

25-Sep-19
That was an amazing hide, camo and craftmenship. This took me a few goes searching the obvious first time around , Saw that sixty2sue struggled to find this one and i thought i would struggle even more.. Then back tonight on the geo bike stood back and looked a bit harder. Thanks guys for the cache SmileSmile Looking forward to finding the other ones further up the trail. Some very large greys , smaller wallabies and an inquisitive wombat kept me on the lookout riding back to Boolarra..

A curried scallop pie, a walk in the pine plantation, some fresh air and a (FTF) - what more could you ask for? Oh yeah... a break in the weather. Found in between rain squalls and hail stones. A tree had blown down across Pleasant Valley Road whilst we were caching and n0w0rries managed to drag it off the road enough that I could get the GeoPrado past. (Note to self: Put the chainsaw and recovery gear back in the car next time we go caching in Gippsland. You never know what it may throw at you!)
Thanks for the very nicely executed micro, ducky_legs & giraffe_legs.

07-Sep-19
Congratulations to nOwOrries for your dedication in travelling so far on such an average weather day to obtain the FTF! Glad you enjoyed our efforts!

The plan for today was to head west out of Melbourne for some caching and socialising.
Noticing that this cache missed being found yesterday we changed our minds (and direction) and drove east instead. A quick stop at the bakery in Yarragon to pick up some morning tea, (+Wife loves their curried scallop pies) we continued on and found a sweet parking spot in Pleasant Valley Rd.
A nice wide trail lead us through from the nearby farm gate onto the rail trail, just short of the bridge. Listening to the Pobblebonk frogs who were in fine voice this morning, we wandered along the trail, crossing creeks and checking out the wetlands on both sides.
Arriving at the GRT - Favourite Seat we dropped our bags and walking poles and set about searching for the cache. A cursory look at the obvious structure failed to glean results so I turned the eTrex10 on and manually plugged in the coordinates.
All arrows pointed to roughly the same spot and a closer inspection soon turned up the extremely devious cache.Smile
I must say, we have found a few similar to this one but not as cleverly constructed. [^]
A favourite point for the Seat, the cache, the serenity and for assisting me in maintaining my unbroken streak of 51 months with a first to find.

My run of FTFs was going well until I came to this cache. My phone's GPS was jumping around quite a bit and after 30 mins of looking in all sorts of places, I pulled out my old Garmin GPS. This also wasn't very helpful even if it was pointing me in the vicinity of where the phone was telling me to go the most often.

But hunger and headache persuaded me to make the tough decision to give up looking and walk back to the car. If I look for this one next time, I think I'll come by bike and a friend for a second set of eyes!
