Caching day with Crank1 at Ballarat and surrounds. Sean.75, thank you so much for placing it and highlighting this area. The weather is great today.
Found by Rebel Acts
Some good friends had decided to head to Ballarat for a few weeks so I decided I needed a break and joined them, we had a great time out caching as well as sharing stories and laughs around a meal or two. I really love the area of Ballarat there is so much history and I am sure it has the largest population of Oak trees in the Country.
This is one of the caches found today.
Some caches logged as RASP rebel acts &Ski pair.
Thanks Sean.75 for the cache.

With work encouraging us to take some holidays and Mr SKI having quite a few weeks up his sleeve it was time to take another short break and do some sightseeing and caching in parts of Victoria we seldom visit.
This time we decided it would be Ballarat. There is a wide variety of cache types and quite a number of Adventure Labs to do, so the area is quite attractive. And that doesn't include the historical and interest aspects as well.
We organized to meet up with some friends while there so we would have the opportunity to do some joint as well as solo caching.
We have already had some great adventures on a few challenging caches that generated a lot of fun and as usual always good to find some pre-solved puzzles.
All logs signed as SKI Pair, RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair or SP depending on size of logs and availability of space.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Sean.75.

Got off to a bit of a late start this morning with ilook4geo after packing up and moving out to go to a new campspot. So we decided to just pick up a few caches along route, each of which proved to be a quick and easy find. Each log was noted with 2 more names or initials as a record of our visit.
Thank you to Sean.75 for placing and maintaining this cache.

Finding a few caches before the Afternoon Tea event and whilst doing the Adventure Lab managed to find a few extra smilies. Thanks for highlighting the stories of these deservedly Australian heroes. Thanks Sean.75
Enjoy Honoring Our Anzacs series runs during AL too
Thanks for interesting stories each series and cache.
Thanks for interesting stories each series and cache.
This was a quick find but my pen was on the blink. I managed to write the date but my name is a bit sketchy. There was a man next door mowing so I was in a rush to sign and return the cache to its hide
Finally managed a trip away with annual leave I had booked 14months ago. Lockdowns and work hindered this plan, but now I have Ballarat my destination for a few caches.
Getting good at these now!
Thanks to Sean.75 for the placement and fun.

Out on another geocaching adventure with Stemicmitsar today out west to Ballarat for the day to attend the event. With geotour being the main goal for the day. With some additional detours around due to me saying that we may as well because it is only around the corner. Eitherway had a great day and can't wait to come back. Thanks for the cache and the adventure.

Well these weren't part of the tour but as we started the Adventure Lab while heading to the next GT cache, we grabbed these caches as well.
Today I headed out West to Australia's new Geotour around Ballarat with buhfuhguh, we managed to complete the tour which took us to a few spots I had not been to before so that's always good and others that I knew well.
We were able to get a few extra caches and Adventure Labs as well that were not part of the tour but us there were there and we were going passed, why not, plus an event for the Geotour thrown in as well.
It was a great day with a little bit of rain but not enough to slow us down.
**Thanks to Sean.75 for placing this cache.**

In Ballarat for a late arvo appointment. Then off to find some caches. My plan, to leave Ballarat via the Avenue of Honour an to do the series along it with the 2 Adventure Labs.
It took me a couple of hours but I did spend longer at each GZ than normal as the info boards were quite amazing and had a lot of different information than I expected.
Each cache was found quite quickly with no issues.

With the lockdown over and the Geotour event going ahead in Ballarat, our original plans to camp and visit were back on. The adventure for GT37, Papi4506 and OHC, now begins!

We are Ballarat for the GeoTour launch event and decided to the ANZAC Adventure Lab series and the associated traditional caches. A straightforward find. Thanks to Sean.75 for the cache.
Found today while taking a drive from Lake Burrumbeet where we are staying for the weekend . The cache guardians have been busy with their webs. It is super windy here today too, but I am happy.to have found the cache. Many thanks for the cache.
I had a meeting at Lucas this morning so with time to spare I set out to grab the Adventure Lab in this section of the Avenue along with the 3 caches I had yet to complete. Such a fantastic Avenue and these storyboards share some incredible histories. Thanks for the cache.
Today was the strangest day of caching for a while the meant we covered the same ground or should I say roads three times. Once because we didn't check the Lab cache app while doing normal caches and then to do the Labs and finally looking for my glasses which I lost along the way. So many extra Kilometers that could have been avoided.
Its ground hog day
Thank you Sean.75 for the cache and series

#17576. This was our first full day around Ballarat and we managed to complete 5 AdLabs and 21 other caches but we also had a couple of DNF's. It certainly was a hot and humid day, especially in the Botanic Gardens where the lawns are constantly watered., creating an even more humid atmosphere. We started and ended with the Avenue of Honour - such a lovely stretch of endless remembrance trees.
As we are staying near Learmonth we did this series of 12 backwards on the way into town. Well, as we discovered on the way back, that was a silly thing to do as we double-dipped at all the signs. It was a good test on our memory though, to see if we could remember the answers without getting out of the car. Had mixed success in that respect. This series and the AdLabs certainly brought history alive for me today.
Thanks Sean.75

A predawn start from home, meant it was still very cold and quite tricky to roll up the logs as we learnt more about the men and women from Ballarat and surrounding districts who served, and gave their lives, all for the greater good of their country.
Our thanks to 'Sean.75' for adding this series to the geo-gameboard.

Sitting at my computer during these Covid lockdowns, I am trying to catch up on a few logs that I haven't sent in yet.
Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late log, something I am notorious for. Thank you for adding to the adventure that is geocaching.
Thanks Sean.75 for the cache.

Yet another descriptive reminder of those who sacrificed so much. Thanks Sean.75 for highlighting. In the area today completing a new Adventure Lab.
We were heading home from Portland today and we decided to go via Ballarat to try our luck at the Adventure Lab cache here and it was only after we left the first way point that we realised that there were trads here as well. On closer examination we realised that this was a series which fitted in nicely with the lab to make it even better.
Doing this series on the 100th Anniversary of the Victory Memorial made it even more special. We really enjoyed learning a bit more about individual solders and also Lucas and co with the Lucas Girls which we knew nothing of until today.
We were happy that each cache was located nice and quickly and numbers 1-10 now contain our name.
Time was against us so we will return on another visit,
Thanks Sean 75 for the caches.

We're BACK! Social distancing has always been my forte when geocaching - ever seen me at an event? Hahaha! But now with travel restrictions eased, we can go out and find some geocaches again.
A trip to Ballarat was in order, a new virtual cache and an Earthcache to find, as well as some Adventure Labs to check out. The final Adventure Lab today came with some additional caches to be found - it worked out well too as our way out of Ballarat and back to the freeway. Thanks for the cache Sean.75.

As I am getting older and running out of time, I have decided I will take off on my own to cache in different areas of our vast country.
I have been up to Loxton for five days of full on caching and still have about 250 caches to log.
I am afraid that for the next few days my logs are going to be a lot of cutting and pasting but that does not take away the effort that the owners have put in to provide these caches for us to find so please accept my thanks. With close to 200 caches placed I know how much work is involved with not only placing them but the ongoing maintenance.

There were lots of cobwebs since the last person found this, I suspect. They were all over the nooks and crannies around the structure. It was a very sad story from Fromelles where two brothers were killed in this one battle and 28 from Ballarat were killed in the same battle. It must have been a tough time for those delivering the news to their families. The whole district must have known someone who was killed in that battle.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading your information on the cache page and earning the smiling face for the remaining caches in the series. Having found a few last year it was nice to know just what type of container I was seeking
This was a great trail honouring our Anzac heroes. The information boards were very well done and were easily spotted from the distance. That was rewarding in itself. Remembrance Drive was very well maintained with the trees looking wonderful.

Found by Mary and David at 13:55. So often, we are in Ballarat for a late morning /early afternoon Event, then have to get back to maccamob HQ to do other stuff or help out with grandchildren. A real luxury to be able to cache on all day. Our thanks to Sean.75.
We have finally managed to head out to complete this very interesting series, and the youngest team member has really been interested in learning all the sacrifices these amazing men and women made for us, and has enjoyed reading the history at each stop, So hard to imagine losing so many brothers, TFTC
Headed up to Ballarat to attend the 2 events that are on in the afternoon and after finishing of a couple of caches in Beaufort it was time to finish of this series that I started on New Years Day.
A great trail to honour our ANZACS and the information boards were a great read at each stop.
I have never driven this whole avenue and it’s great with all of the trees and how neat and tidy it is.
