Sadly Miss 6 and I couldn’t find her first geocache here today. Lots of bottles and other dodgy rubbish put us off rummaging too much. Will need to return with gloves and a rubbish bag.

Found on a day of caching with Greenkiwikids and Pyphant.

Once again we are caching with Team Welsh in East Auckland. Heading from Pigeon Mountain to Half Moon Bay we made a slight detour to visit this little park. sat on the seat and read the cache page before honing in on GZ and making the find. Thanks.

16-Jan-22
This is such a nice spot and really like the seat by the cache. Mr KC came up trumps here and it was nice to sit and sign the log. Thanks for placing this cache for others to find.

13-Jan-22
Keylev and B4Dawn were childless this week so we had been making the most of it and caching every afternoon and evening after work. This was day 4 and the Eastern suburbs was decided to be our area to cache.

This took a lot more time than anticipated to locate this but eventually got it,

Very tricky find and needed sharp eyes and determination to find. Logging this find as part of my Reach the Peak Challenge, Kilimanjaro. We are effectively now at Kibo Hut, 4750m up Kilimanjaro where there is an overnight stop before a very early morning start to push to the top and see the sunrise on the way up. My daughter made the climb 7 years ago so my small effort follows in her footsteps.

I was out and about out east for a spot of cache detection on this sunny afternoon. I was starting to head for home when this one sprung up on the gpsr and piqued my interest. Of course my pocket query was out of date and the nature of the hide has changed recently. Still, I am not complaining as a smiley is still a smiley. No issues making the find of the new container at GZ. Cheers for the cache placement and replacement efforts!

Tree has been half cut down by the counsel and cache is gone.

New cache has been placed in location at GL.

Was in the area today to do a newish trad and an earthcache and some multis .
I hadn't noticed this one pop up!
I am not too keen on tree climbing, but luckily I was with 2 geomates today and one of them shot up to get this for me!
Thanks MrsJag50!

A plan was hatched to try and find as many different combinations on the D/T grid that we could in one day. A route was planned and planned again a number of times. It has been months in the planning but today it was coming to fruition.
I left Hamilton at 4.45am and met up with ABCDF4 and eyespyben in Huntly before arriving at our first cache at 7am. It was a long and tiring day with the last cache found as darkness set in. And after a celebratory dinner at McDonalds I got home at 11.00pm.
My calculations is that we achieved 47 with only 2 DNFs. Thank you to all the cache owners.
ABCDF4 did the honours here though he did need assistance to get back to the ground. Thank you for the placement.

We had talked about this personal challenge, D/T Grid for sometime, so decided to attack on long weekend ( Waitangi),EyeSpy first up at 4.30am,so time to rise as KGD will be here soon and left Huntly for our first cache in Ak at 7am. Lota of laughs, plenty of U turns, tree climbing, muddy gumboots, very steep climbs and plenty of Kms travelled. Our total over the period was 47 different D/T ratings and only 2 dnfs. Thanks to all the Cos for a great day in the Supa City and KGD for his organisation skills and help back to earth.

Team work was the key to this one. I spied the cache from the ground and Mrs Jag was the little monkey who climbed up and signed the log. Looks like kids have made a hut in the tree as there was a picnic basket of containers and a wee sparkly backpack up the tree as well as the cache.

11-Jan-21
We spied the cache from down below, and made the short climb up the tree to reach the cache. We stopped to check out the tree hut that the local children have constructed, before heading back down.

Great little hide. Worth the find.

Quick easy find to round off a lovely summers day. Phil did the climbing which I was very pleased about! SL TFTC

We felt a bit conspicuous at first but the tree gave reasonable cover and there weren't too many muggles around.
We spotted what we thought might be the cache and Mr Coblet decided to channel his inner monkey and give it a go.
The first step was a little tricky but then it was an easy climb and a nice reward to find the cache was indeed in the spot we suspected.
Although the tree provided good cover the nearby backyards still had a reasonable view and a couple of voices were heard to say "See, he's gone up the tree".
We wondered if they were aware of the cache or just commenting because they had seen others climbing this tree and wondered why it was suddenly so popular. Either way they couldn't see exactly what was going on.
Not wanting a repeat of issues we have had in previous caches of this type Mr Coblet was very careful to keep a tight qrip of the cache, log and pen and successfully signed the log and returned the cache without incident.
Thanks VanJeans for a great hide which provided a bit of fun at the end of our day.

Out with Agazo he suggested this cache which we hadn't noticed before. Enjoy these caches if they are not too difficult and when we arrived we soon saw that it was doable in this case. With help of a TOTT for the first part managed to have the cache in hand soon after. TFTC.

I teamed up with the Bennett24s for this one. I had been here before with nufrat, but neither of us felt inclined to go after the cache. Fortunately, Gary had the required strength and agility and made short work of the grab today. TFTC.

I enjoy these types of caches and made a point to clamber up here. After checking with a previous finder I believe I found the attachment, and have sent the CO a picture. In the meantime I hope it's ok to log this, cheers

Good to finally accomplish a tree cache! Almost gave me vertigo looking up, trying to spot the cache, but the suspicious attachment point was soon spotted. No major difficulty in getting to the cache due to some decent branches. TFTC

Branching up or branching out is something Ive always found difficult as I can never get off the ground...... So we walked past yesterday & checked out GZ to see what was what.
Passing by today, so I stopped to make an attempt. After boosting myself up, i got going & going & going. Paused to scan around & without spotting anything, I kept looking. Oh wait, there it is.After signing the log, picked my way back down till I got to my safe place - terra firma. TFTC Big Grin

What a day for Geocaching for us. Finally, it was Level 2 and we were allowed to go out caching once again. Having had a very enjoyable and successful day caching at the Botanical Gardens and snaffling our first Adventure Lab cache, it was great to be able to top the day off with this cache.

As mentioned, we had been out for most of the day completing the Adventure Lab cache in the Botanical Gardens. We had gotten home and were just relaxing, recovering from a day out. Mr. Kiwi was just starting to think about getting dinner ready when the notification for this cache came blearing from his phone. He quickly jumped up and went to his phone to check where the cache was. Wow, just a short distance away, an easy FTF possibility. Mrs. Liver Bird encouraged him to go, but LordCacher08 did not want to go, he had had enough of caching for one day.

Into the car and a couple of minutes later Mr. Kiwi was at the park where GZ was located. A quick walk over to GZ and out came the phone torch to help find the cache as it was almost dark. This was soon ditched as darkness overtook for head-lamp which provided better light. The search for the cache went on for a while with every branch around the tree being searched, with nothing being found.

Finally, a thought popped into Mr. Kiwi's head and a quick check of the cache page confirmed that the thought was correct. So with a change in direction with the search, it was all on again. This time, the search proved to be successful and the cache was soon in hand. With the relatively short time between the notification and the finding of the cache, it was expected that nobody else had found the cache and got the FTF, and that was the case. A pristine blank log was retrieved and signed for another {FTF}. What a great way to cap off a wonderful day of caching.

All through this search, there was always the thoughts running through Mr. Kiwi's head...
"I wonder if anybody else will come and attempt the FTF?" and
"I wonder what the neighbouring houses are thinking seeing a light flashing around this tree?"
