A quick find in between caching and some lunch, I ducked over the train tracks to GZ. I spotted something that would hide a cache, and there it was. TFTC
Checked on this cache today. No it hasn't been moved or muggled, it is in exactly the position it was originally placed. Some fake online logs with no matching signature in the logbook have been removed. It is a requirement of geocaching guidelines that to claim a find you MUST SIGN the logbook inside the physical cache. It is not sufficient to just visit the site.
Had a good look but couldn't find. Had found this but not signed log a few months back as I was waiting to officially log with JIDTime22, found it then easily but not today. Either been replaced somewhere else or been muggled
28km marathon training run. Grabbing some geocaches along the way to break it up. Relatively quick find. Signed as CC4. TFTC
Made a while find here after doing some work in the area. Mind the prickly bush!
Awesome spot for trains! Happened to be exactly where i was working today, although on the outside of the corridor. Tftc
i have a wait of 6 mins, or do i grab this cache and get next train in 19 mins? here is the answer. log is wet, so lucky its that waterproof paper. found wasily enough once at gz. Tftc.
Another one of the sidetracked series logged. Cache is in good order. TFTC JackScruff.
Find# 11130Nice easy find.Another Sidetracked cache to add to the tally!Arrived too early for work in the area, so found another cache, as one does lol.TFTC Jackscruff 11 April 2024 11:26am
Staying with family and picked this cache up on my run. Nice quick find, all in good condition. I felt every bit of the 80% humidity and the hills. Tftc
Find number 12740 at 12:50:36pm on Wednesday the 13 December 2023Time to use up a travel voucher before it expires on December 31 so I hatched a plan for a day trip to Sydney to do some LGA's and SideTracked geocaches. First flight out of Melbourne in the morning and last flight back in the evening, it turned out to be a long day, up a 3:30 and back home at half past midnight for a total of nineteen geocaches, thirteen SideTracked and nine LGA's Sparky was my inspiration here, quick find. **Thanks for placing this cache Jackscruff**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. A list of the geocaches can be found [here](https://coord.info/BM9GWJ5). The final GeoTour Event is the [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) on the 18th February 2024!You can also get prepared for the 2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards by checking out our preliminary lists [here](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/).
Parked close to GZ and was muggle-free during my search for the cache. Didn't take long before I was signing the logbook and replacing.TFTC
Found It!Interesting bit of history and a quick find here after finding somewhere safe to park.TFTC
I caught a train to Sydney this morning since it's much cheaper ($2.50 all day), more relaxing and theoretically, not much slower (if you're going, like I was today, to somewhere close to a train stop) than battling traffic on the M1 and through suburbia. In the event, however, today's return trip turned out to be much slower than the forward journey, simply because I'm a geocacher and got sidetracked along the way ... three times! Of course, had I driven, I'm sure I would have made some caching stops enroute anyway!!A short walk to GZ from the station after alighting the T9 Hornsby service once again, and thanks to the hint, it didn't take long to make the find and add my name to the logsheet. Then it was back to the station where I found I had a 10 minute wait for the next Hornsby service. Hopefully, it will be a shorter wait for a Central Coast train there but if not, maybe I'll have time to get a drink. Thanks for sidetracking me here jackscruff and for the smiley too ... all in all, a pleasant diversion from real life for a few hours.
Parked the bike and walked around to make the find. Booth Park, just down the road, was the scene of the first goal I ever scored in soccer. I think I was 7 or 8. TFTC
I had a bit of time before my train so this was a quick cache find. TFTC and the history.
Beecroft my old stamping ground! Went to school here and caught the train from here for all my high school and uni years. Nice that I can still do a long walk to get here and find a cache. Thanks!
I’m visiting from Brisbane and staying with friends nearby. While my husband and friend went to a bookshop, I came here and it didn’t take long to find the cache. All good with this cache. Tftc
Found without too much difficulty however trying to get it was extremely difficult. Need longer arms, less spiders and less splinters. Don’t know how I managed the splinters! But anyway another smiley for me.
Found the cache without too much problem. Give the container a shake to help get the log out. No good. A more vigorous shake saw the logbook fly out into an inaccessible area. Ohhh… what to do? A carefully selected stick and some fine fishing skills (if I do say so myself) and a number of minutes later the logbook was safely in my hands. It was now quite damp but thank goodness for RITR paper and was good to go once I had dried it off. Signed and returned an no one would be the wiser of my mishap unless I put it in my log… oh wait…
Travelled over from New Zealand to do a two week roadtrip down to the Rutherglen Mega and back to Sydney. Thanks for the cache, Jackscruff

Came along with goingplaces2 and found the container here. Log was signed and replaced with no muggles around. Not in the first type of placed we looked. Happy to have found this one. TFTC.
Happy to add this SideTracked cache to our collection. This one took a bit longer than it should have to find but both names have now been noted on the log. Thanks for this cache placement go to Jackscruff.
Previous logs suggested this might be wet/damp. In fact it was quite dry and easily writeable. A good hide and container was in good condition TFTC
A day out caching with Oldmorty and we stopped her hoping for better luck after a confusing multi. Oldmorty went in, scavenged and found the sneaky hide. TFTC!
Out with morty8888 for a few caches and some lunch.
Our second cache for the day after having not fully understanding a multi earlier. It took us several minutes to dig this one up.
Thanks for placing this cache jackscruff.

I'll be the first to admit this kind of GZ looked like it could've been trouble for me, but luckily was sufficiently out of view to not cause any concerns with muggles.
Quick search turned up the cache, log is soaked - managed to scrawl a "Akka" but will log a pic too.
Thanks!

Today I headed out to Dural for the Amateur Radio NSW (HAM Radio) Trash & Treasure sale at the Quarry Road HQ site (VK2WI), which used to be held bi-monthly, but had been shutdown for the past two years due to Covid-19. Stopped off along the way for a few caches then, after a fun filled morning of HAM radio junk scrounging and lots of friendly chit chat (it’s good to be back!), it was off to work for an afternoon shift, but I still managed to stop off enroute for one final cache. This was the 4th of 4 finds for the day.
I was now on my way to work, but couldn't resist stopping off at Beecroft for this SideTracked cache. Parked the geomobile in Copeland Road East, then headed over to GZ for a look.
It's been a wet morning, and I ended up getting myself a bit wet pushing through all the wet vegetation, but the cache was a nice quick find once at GZ. The log sheet was also very wet, but I still managed to leave our mark on it, then replaced everything as it had been found. Then it was just a quick dash up to the Copeland Road railway overpass for a photo of Beecroft Railway Station, before jumping back into the geomobile and heading off to work.
Thanks Jackscruff for another SideTracked cache to add to our growing collection.

Back in Sydney for work and a good chance to continue on some caches plus a few new ones.
At GZ I was expecting something a little different then made the find.
Thanks to Jackscruff for the placement, fun and adventure.

Easy find, thanks for the history. The log is a little bit damp but still writeable. TFTC
Parked in the rail maintenance access as I have the van and with the correct attire.
Followed a cacher trail that led to nowhere, looked around for a bit in here, head scratch, looked at the satellite view and lined up with the house opposite.
Quick find with satellite view, thanks Jackscruff

In order to re-enable this cache after Lockdown I have visited the location today and checked the cache.
It was exactly where it was originally placed and the logbook has plenty of room for more finders logs.
Just a reminder, a fundamental rule of geocaching is that, in order to be able to log a cache find online, you must retrieve the cache container and sign the physical log located in that container. Failure to comply will result in your online log being removed.

Now that the NSW Government has eased lockdown restrictions and we can now travel outside our local LGA, it’s time to bring this cache back into play.
We know the COVID-19 virus is still about, so please take precautions to keep yourself and those around you safe by doing things such as wearing gloves to handle caches, as well as using hand sanitiser regularly.
Take care everyone and enjoy your geocaching!

To help stop the spread of Covid-19, the NSW Government has ordered everybody to stay at home unless you are: shopping for essentials, receiving medical care, exercising or travelling to work or education.
While some people would regard going geocaching as a form of exercise, it is my personal opinion that this activity is a non-essential one, perhaps involving unnecessary travel and therefore should not be undertaken during this time of crisis.
Who knows how long this current lockdown will last! Right now, every one of us has an important part to play in helping to keep our families, friends and the wider community safe in the fight against the spread of Covid-19, by staying home.
As a result of the health authority’s directive, I have decided to disable this cache and respectfully request that no person seek out and claim a find whilst this cache is disabled.
Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to bringing my caches back into play as soon as the health crisis abates.
Regards,
Jackscruff
Yet I didn't have a pen and neither was it were this app said it was I still was were it was ment to be.
Got a bit sidetracked passing by and missed this so backtracked and headed in. Uncovered a glint of colour after looking in the wrong spots. Thanks Jackscruff.
I checked this cache today.
The container is as it should be, not damaged but in good condition.
I replaced the logsheet as it was nearly full.
Ready to be found.

Haven't found many of the SideTracked series, but after a quick trip up north for a particular cache, stopped off to grab a couple of traditional caches around Beecroft. Relatively quick find. With the cache in hand, we signed the damp log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Jackscruff.

Decided to head out looking for caches the morning after finishing my masters degree. We can see what takes priority in my life
Fun cache to find.
As with previous comments, the log is damp but otherwise the cache is in great condition!
Quick find to complete our wonder series. Gorgeous day for some caching. Thanks for bringing us to this unusual spot.
Heading out to assist with some cache placements this morning and given the traffic was light and the this cache also had a certain wonder for the current promotion we headed over and soon made the find to finish off the promotion. The log is damp but we still managed to sign our name. TFTC
Back in Sydney for a couple of days and hoping to collect Lane Cove tomorrow - would like to have it for the milestone cache but don’t think I will get there. However, trying to get a few to get closer, so decided to go for a drive around Pennant Hills and Beecroft to get some more (wasn’t too long a drive this morning and we had a long break at the cacheless Hunter Botanic Gardens!)
After missing the turn off (and unsuccessfully searching for the one near the railway station again!) I headed back to get this one. As I drove past the closest parking area there was a car in place so I thought would be a no go. Turned around a few hundred metres down the road and luckily the car was home so pulled over and quickly walked to GZ. After a quick scan of the hint I looked a bit lower and the cache was found. Last one for the day and a nice way to finish.

Was nearby with an appointment and decided to detour on the way home to make this as a much needed calendar find. A very cheeky hide that took me a bit longer than I'm happy to admit. Unfortunately the log was wet, so I took it to the car and gave it a dry out with the heater, before returning, and doing it up tight. Will hopefully stay drier. Still a fair bit of space in the log. TFTC!
Streak Day #2483 - After Dave8153 had picked me up from the hospital this morning we made a slight detour for a cache to keep our streaks alive and then off to home to recover. This was a quick find. TFTC

Located at 10:37pm. #1047.
The first decade of my life was spent growing up in Granville/Rosehill. Then the family moved house to Beecroft and the next stage of my life began. I have plentiful fond and some not so fond memories of Beecroft. It seems both like a peaceful little suburb off the main drag but then also a bustling hive of activity. Afternoons at the bus stop after school, weekend fetes at the Village Green, the massive book fair at the community hall and now further down at the scout hall, hours spent perusing all the books at the Capella Bookshop.
I was in the area visiting the parents today and decided to detour to this cache to make the find. I located the cache in its nicely hidden spot, signed the log and replaced as found.
Much obliged for the placement Jackscruff.
FP + 1 for all the merry nostalgia.
