We couldn't find it! We looked under the jetty, then after reading the hint we looked under all the rocks we could reasonably move without breaking our backs! Maybe it got washed away?
This one appears to have floated away. As now no road access to check Im archiving it. Cheers
Finally found one after two DNFs yesterday on the QCT and at Portage. Quick find and sign while waiting for the water taxi.
Quick easy find. Beautiful day in Torea Bay. Waiting to catch the boat back to Picton. TFTC
Grabbed this with dry feet even though almost high tide. Certainly easier at low tide. Cache in tiptop condition, tftc.
Paddled round from Mistletoe Bay with Tregearp before heading over the hill for some lunch and then a paddle back. Cache was a quick find with everything in perfect condition. Thanks taybeedragon for a cache in this idyllic spot.
Back in the kayak's and paddled in to Torea so we could wander over to Portage, this was a quick find after sorting the boats out. Fairly quite a GZ and a few stingrays cruising around the bay. Thanks taybeedragon, all in good order.
On a 3 night stay at Mistletoe Bay. Getting picked up today from Torea Bay by E-ko tours for wildlife tour in the rain! Picnic and caching whilst waiting for boat. I made far too much of this cache and yes, got feet wet in process. Great hide, all perfectly dry, added to the treasures. Tftc!
Seems we set up a trade. I get to find this cache, which is owned by my partner in today's trip, and in return I help her find a cache in Mistletoe Bay that she has been having trouble with , that I had found earlier. Okay. She says this one is easy, and I made it about as hard as possible for such an easy cache. Practically looked directly at it and didn't see it. Duh. While I was futzing around below, the CO was uptop, chatting to the locals - there was a ray of some kind swimming through the water. By the time I had found the cache and signed the log it was gone. Darn. Would have liked to see it.
Nicely executed cache. Gets a fav.
Taybeedragon rings me up - her Saturday got cancelled so how about a trip. Okay, I am in. I was going to research and write up about 15 new caches this weekend, some of which take many hours to write, so a bit of mind-numbing tedium. Dropping that to one day and finding a bunch on the other day sounds like just the tonic.

2TF with NZDi. It is leap day and there is a souvenir up for grabs along with some add-ons for the new P-GC badges. Unfortunately we are in an area where there is a lack of caches due to previous holidays in the area. There are a couple of possibilities though, this one and a previously DNF'd B&W cache which we had just turned into a smiley face. We turned up at the same ti.e as the Cougarline water taxi, so had to wait u til its passengers dispersed. After that it was a QEF as per the cache page.

FTF I got up early this morning and headed off to the sounds. Not necessarily one of my favourite drives as the winding road out this way tends to get to me but... This cache awaited a finder. I got to the last place to park and left my car there. Wandered down to the wharf which was busier than I thought it would be. I had to wait for a van collecting people from the water taxis to leave and then I waited for some walkers and bikers to get there act together and leave the area too. The tide was in but I was prepared to get my feet wet. A pleasant paddle to GZ and the cache was found in the last place I checked. Thanks for bringing all the way out to place I'd probably never have visited and TFTC, Biggles.
I'm not sure if the CO knows something about this place that I don't, but I've always been under the impression that this was Torea Wharf. The reason I say this is because the road that goes down to the wharf is called Torea Road and the wharf is in Torea Bay... just saying.
