Very nice place to stop and enjoy. We found the magnetic bottom but no top or contents. Tpvsl
We spent a little while working out how we should answer the questions for the nearby virtual and chatting with other travellers. Almost forgot to check for this cache. Once we'd avoided that faux pas the cache was soon in hand. Many thanks !.
Heading south with rattll, en route to GeoToroa at Dunedin. Today, started at Paparoa Point, north of Kaikoura, aiming for... somewhere in North Canterbury, tbc. Our sole confirmed target for the day is GCEB9, at Glentui. The oldest letterbox hybrid in NZ, and coincidentally a Jasmer spot that we both need. Everything else collected today is a bonus, so we're stopping as the whim takes us.Stopped here to pick up the virtual, and found this one as well. All well in the container. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
This was a bit tricky to find as a second look/feel was needed to find it. Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Injeanious. And so 7 days after returning home from a five month trip to the UK and Europe, I am off on another trip. This time its within New Zealand as Itchyfeet2020 and I are on our mega road trip to Dunedin. We are focussing on particular caches for various challenges, as well as having a great lot of fun and seeing the scenery in our wonderful land. -LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!!On May 3rd, 2025, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in Rotorua, New Zealand with a special Block Party event. Join us to celebrate 25 years of this amazing game, and that the very first geocache hidden outside of the United States, 25 years ago, was hidden here in New Zealand. You do not want to miss this event, so check out the "[GCAKR25](https://coord.info/GCAKR25) 25 Years of Geocaching NZ! event page, the [event website](http://25years.geocache.nz/) for more details, join the [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/924894455969387) group, and sign up to the [email list](http://25years.geocache.nz/?p=4) to get updates...If you intend to come, please make sure you get your "Will Attend" log onto the page as soon as you can in order to assist with planning the first ever Block Party in New Zealand.-
NZ_B and I are on a road trip to the Geo Toroa Mega - Oct 24. I am also keen to get a multi every day, so it is now the Mega Multi Road Trip. Today is Day 1 of our trip from Wellington to Christchurch. This cache was one on our journey. A lovely spot to stop. I figured where this little guy would be hidden but missed it initially. Found after a bit better search. It's nice to have a trip where, alongside targeted caches, we also take time to find one's on a whim or ones that take a bit longer. We have all day, and the caches are calling...
I had the place to myself when I arrived so finding the cache was easy. However, muggles started to arrive in numbers so I had to play the waiting game before replacing the wee treasure. After a few minutes of looking shifty, I took the opportunity to put the cache back in place.
We were supposed to do a whale watching trip today, but it got cancelled as the whales were outside the area. Instead we set off to find a few caches. A quick find here while doing the nearby virtual. TFTC
I could see there was a trad here on my map but no service to let me read the details or see the hint. Glad to learn later that this is another cache by Injeanious, my room mate on a caching trip to Norfolk Island a few years ago. The CO, in her work with NCTIR, has contributed greatly to the interesting historical stops along this route. A good guess, or you could say geosense, led me to find the container quickly. Many thanks for all the info included in this cache description and the cache itself, Injeanious #10465
Making our way to Kaikoura and grabbing caches as we go. Stopped here for the cache and check out the art works. Had a quick search and found the cache, signed log and left as found. Thanks for the placement of this geocache at this spot and the background to the stopping areas Injeanious.

On our way north we stopped here and saw some dolphins. And picked up this cache. Thanks.

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we took the bus from Blenheim to Christchurch. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.

Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

Fifth day in New Zealand ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary country and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. After a stopover in Qatar and 8 days in Australia, our journey continued from Auckland to Queenstown with various stopovers.Today we continued our journey by bus from Blenheim to Christchurch along the coast. Our driver was kind enough to make an unscheduled stop for us so that we could visit this virtual one. A beautiful place to linger. Unfortunately we didn't see any dolphins, but we did find this cache. The logbook is full, so we only signed it with our team abbreviation DownUnder24. All our names wouldn't have fitted in.Thank you for laying & taking care .Fnfter Tag in Neuseeland ??.

# 21532Whau, I am on a three week trip with Cacher-Reisen and a bunch of fellow geocachers to Australia and New Zealand. It is so odd to imagine that I am going to visit a place that is nearly on the opposite of the globe from my usual hangouts. In Denmark it is late winter/early spring, and I am exchanging the winter-part for late summer in Australia and early autumn in New Zealand. This is so exciting. The itinerary is Frankfurt (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns (Australia) and Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Cromwell, Queenstown (New Zealand) before flying back to Europe. That will be two new continents and three new countries for me - and as far away from home as I have ever been. It is a lot of places and travelling, but we also have a plan to find lots of geocaches and see the sights and beautiful nature. This day we are travelling from Blenheim to Christchurch with a small detour to Kaioura to hopefully se some seals. I didn't quite succeed with that, but instead I saw a small group of lamas being paraded on the sidewalk. We were travelling along the eastern coast of New Zealand along State Highway 1, and we could se the difference of the nature on both sidse of the bus - Ocean and mountains. Denmark also has a lot of coastline, but we are a bit more protected from the Northsea because of Great Britain about 600 km to the west. Down here in the South Pacific there isn't much to give shelter from the East. This was an unscheduled stop but we enjoyed it and quickly found the cache here and the virtual cache - and snapped some pictures.Tak for cachen til Injeanious.
Auf der Fahrt von Blenheim nach Christchurch haben wir hier einen kurzen Fotostopp eingelegt. Wunderschne Aussicht. We logged with our team name DownUnder24. Thank you very much for the cache!
The last leg of our journey on our 2nd tiki tour in NZ heading from Kaikora down to ChCh grabbing a few caches as we went. Here a quick find but not after we watched some dolphins. As soon as we stopped we spotted and the sat and watched for a good 45 minutes as at least 3 pods of dolphins swam around and then we were entertained with several leaping out, doing flips and having a whale of a time ( pardon the pun) This was the first time we had managed to see dolphins on our trip round both islands and so we stayed for as long as we could Then remembered this cache which we trotted over to and made a quick findFP for bringing us here - very memorable TFTCTim and Viv - ddm
Today, I'm on the road again, heading home to Dunsandel from Blenheim. Finding a few caches along the way. Back to avenge my January DNF. This time I was able to walk straight up to the cache and find it after a quick check. TFTC, Biggles.
We were headed home after a short weekend away in Kaikoura. Wanting to leave before the terrible weather arrived, we took our time and stopped for some caches along the way. I've seen this pit stop several times now so was happy to finally stop and check it out properly. Beautiful rest stop. Found the cache easily. TFTC.

Thanks Injeanious for maintaining the cache
SL thanks for the hide
Quite a few muggles about so couldn't really search properly. The hint object that my GPS took me to is not in a good way. The cache may or may not have survived.
A quick and easy find. Took photos. Interesting information. Cache is fine. Thanks for the placement.
Day 12 of my Spring Holiday and next leg of the journey on my final holiday day is from Kaikoura to Christchurch and what a Stunner of a day it is! Easy find here TFTC

Having a milestone birthday this weekend, my aim was 50 caches. That was too much for one day so the 50 finds were spread over the celebratory weekend, 1/2 on my way South and 1/2 on my way North.
This was find number 15 and easy enough.

Thank you for this cache, injeanious. I had no reception here & hadn’t downloaded the cache, but it was showing on the map & I was delighted to find it.
Driving south, traffic not heavy.

We watched a big work up of birds diving and fish splashing around for a while, while we waited for some muggles to move on.
Such a beautiful area of the coast.
Thanks for putting this here for us to find

This was our first cache along this section of the Kaikoura coast. A nice fine morning, unlike yesterday when the coast was covered in thick sea fog.
We are now leaving Kaikoura and heading south towards home. Nice easy parking for motorhome. Lovely work they have done on the road to be able to stop and enjoy views and find geocaches . Thanks for this cache Injeanious.
Spotted some dolphin spinning in the water, we conveniently pulled into this look out to watch them for a little while. After they moved out I noticed this cache. was here.
Awesome spot!
Awesome spot!
Another great pou to visit along SH1 on our way home. And another cache snagged and tagged. Cheers
Day 5 - Christmas Eve Friday 24 December - From Amberly we return to Picton today. With the Seagnoid departing for wellington this evening. With a few stops along the way to help the day go by. Were dragging Toby along with a dead battery today. Bummer.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are of on another Geo adventure this time to Mt Cook for 5 days. Met up with Bullertrout and Bro on the way down. Lake Pukaki was fine but Mt Cook was wet and wild with the Hooker Valley being closed due to high winds, so did not stay long. We went exploring Tekapo, Timaru and a round trip to Lake Coleridge. Short trip and very tiring but awesome.

Love these rest areas along the new road north and south of Kaikoura. If the cache was a bit larger it would have been a fav. Oh well. Last day of our trip, we're heading north to Picton and the ferry.
Part of a big trip with Taybeedragon to explore Mt Cook. We explored a little of it but there was gale winds, lots of cloud and rain. Some of the tracks had been closed and others were right dodgy given that we did not have our foul weather tramping kit. We had booked to stay for two nights but left the same day. More time to explore parts of Canterbury! So now I have been to Mt Cook . Still yet to see Aorangi.

We had to bypass the 2 unfound caches south of here as we were in a stream of traffic and one car as almost on our bumper. So we pulled over before we were close to this cache, let the cars go past and then could safely join the other car in this area. As we moved towards the cache the other people headed for their car so we had a free area for the short check. Like others, we appreciate the new areas that were developed after the road was restored and the caches they contain.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Another stop at a well appointed rest area. A lot of work has gone into these areas and they are nice to visit. Cache retrieved, signed and replaced. tftc
Another great place to stop.
It's show weekend, a long one for Cantabrians. So JDScout and I are on another camper van trip. This time it's just a return trip from Christchurch to Kaikoura, staying at Pekepeke.
For a bit of extra excitement we are geocaching too. Thanks for hiding this cache Injeanious I appreciate it.

No dolpins tonight, just lots of seals to the north. Always fun to see the pups out on the rocks. Cheers
I was shifting my snail shell from Kaikoura to CHC today hoping to sign off a few caches that had big parking areas.
This was the first that fitted the bill.
Cheers for the cache.
