Find# 11763We had to dig for this cache. Logbook is unsinkable as it is mush. See photo. TFTC Hipperooni 16 August 2024
Over in the area heading for Canberra to attend the Easter Mega with tmann421Tons of caches done while here and this was one of them.Enjoyed the touring around and all the containers foundLog signed tm/ww NZThanks for the placement and the effort put into maintaining these hides for us to find.
*In the area with woolwood9 heading to the MEGA Event.* We cached from Sydney to Canberra, then after the MEGA, up through Yass, Cowra and Bathurst to return to Sydney. We had a great 3 weeks and enjoyed finding many good caches. SL *tm/ww NZ* LOG WET*Thank you for putting this cache out for us to visit!*
Looked and looked and looked all about and just when I was about to give up there it was right where it was supposed to be.Container full of water but the bag had kept the log wet but not destroyed. It was covered with a lot of leaves and twigs .Signed as best I could dried a bit and replaced.TFTCironbark.
Out for a bit of a wander and decided to come here to visit some caches that I had not yet ticked off.
Cheers

It was wonderful to catch up with 10011010 and AsTheCrowFlys' and make it an outing with SueDan83. I wanted to call our team "Dan's 154Ukes" but I was outvoted. The plan was to do "The Dark Side Of The Moon" and any ALs and caches nearby. The weather was gorgeous, the caches great and the company awesome... we talked nonstop... couldn't have planned a better day.
Such spectacular views along this path. Followed the hint but first dismissed the container as some rubbish. Thanks

Apologies for the late log.
With today being my birthday, naturally I decided that a day of caching on the coast would be much more enjoyable than a day spent at work! Unfortunately geo mate SueDan83 had to pull out at the last minute, but Sensible Sis and I jumped in the Meritonnn geo-mobile and headed down to Helensburgh/Stanwell Tops. It was a cracking day, with some great walks, great views, great caches and great company!
A quick find here, but I worry about the longevity of this container. It would have been interesting to see what the initial iteration looked like as the early logs indicate it was a clever hide. Thanks for bringing us to such a nice location. TFTC!

#8681 (3 of 11 today)
This is one of seven calendar days where I only have 14 finds. Don't judge me... So as my goal for this year is 16 calendar loops I need some finds today. Regardless of the weather.
Well, it seems the Calendar Caching Gods not only required propitiation today but also a ritual washing. With the rain today, I'd say my Geocaching sins have been well and truly washed away! I'm just glad given the forecasts that I don't need a lot of finds tomorrow.
So as I've been aiming to get 20 finds most days, I was hoping for a minimum of six finds, but more is better. Just depends when the rain - or my sogginess level - gets too high.
As it was I made 11 finds along Lawrence Hargreaves Drive, and collected info for two multis. And remembered to check recent logs so I bypassed a few that were MIA.
And almost beat the heavy rain before getting back to The Shire.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Grabbed the info for a multi before heading off along the trail to this one. I must admit that given the weather i was wary that this could be leech city. Wasn't wrong - but of the dozen or so I picked off only two had managed to go full Dracula.
It's my week for leeches!
At GZ a short search turned up the uncovered container. The inside was nice and dry, but I think a sturdier one will last longer.
Completed signing duties and replaced, doing my best to avoid the spiky plants growing there.
Considered the next cache on the track, but the comments re difficulty of the hide plus the wet and leeches convinced me to give it a pass today.
Once back at *The Hademobile* picked off/nuked the last of the leeches from my shoes, and then swapped them for gum boots for the rest of the day.
Then got info for the other multi here before heading off to my next target.

Quick find but probably needs a more stable container. Don't drink the water! Tftc
TFTC! Out caching with Simmo71. We followed a path that didn’t quite look like significant path. The log was saturated so we’ve left a new log inside. Happy caching!
Find 243 for the tribe.
Out getting the waterfall locations from the 'Pretty as a picture' adventure lab this morning after the recent heavy downpours / nsw floods. Boy are the waterfalls pumping! Off to the deserted bald hill lookout which was quite peaceful in the rain today. Gathered some info for the multis then travelled north on this path for a bit. A lovely path! Will come back and explore it properly another day.
The old tank had a good bit of water in it which made some cool noises when more water dripped into it. Agree with the previous finders - cache is on the west side now! Perhaps it was on the north at some point in it's life. Damp log unsignable. Emptied fluid out of the cache.
What I did find on the north side was this impressive slug, see pic. Far more impressive than the leech I pulled off my leg later in the day!
Thanks for the cache!

Not quite what I was expecting but found it. Log saturated. Gorgeous track. Tftc
A relatively quick find. Wet log but still able to sign it. Definitely not on the north side.
Found on the western side, but log is drenched. Never knew this track existed. TFTC
A great afternoon to get out and do some caching. It'd been quite some time since I'd cached in the northern suburbs so there was plenty to choose from. What I should have realised is, being a weekend it'd be very busy with plenty of muggles to spoil my hunt.
Nonetheless I bagged a handful of caches for my afternoon in the northern suburbs.
A nice quick find but the container takes on lots of water.
Thanks

Finally a DNF revenge on this. But not where or what we expected the type of hide it was originally meant to be. And wasn't in the NE corner either! The replacement may need to be checked. TFTC
We were nearly tricked by this cache which was acting like a piece of trash lying out in the open. On closer inspection we found a mouldy shopping docket inside it with the last two finders signatures. Great, this must be the replacement cache. We added a new logsheet in a small snaplock bag. TFTC Hipperooni. This is certainly a scenic track to walk along.
I found it but didn’t think I had found it so ventured to the other one up the road. Discovered that was the same replacement container so ripped back to sign the other log! TFTC!
Thanks to the generosity of Team Canary, this cache and the rest of this series is back in action!
After our coastal track hike Team Canary and myself headed over to the hill to find a few caches. TC had previously arrange to drop in a replacement so an easy find with signing duties already completed. TFTC
As I was in the area I asked if I could replace this after I found the one in the middle. Permission was granted by the owner.
Replaced at the base on the eastern side.

After a couple of dnfs from previous cachers I came by for a check up on this one. Upon arrival we weren’t able to relocate the container, we searched around where we found it last time and all around inside and outside but nothing could be seen, I think the owner should check up on this one
This cache was in a particularly exposed and that has come to bite. Will try get a replacement out soon in a slightly different location. Thank you to mrwhiskers76 for alerting me to this.
Even with a PAF hint, we still could not find it. Maybe it fell inside? A DNF from EH and Brew.
2 out of 3 DNFs in this newish series. Either I'm having an off caching day or these are very tricky, or they need checking. Whichever way, I'll be back!
Welp, not a good start! My 3rd DNF of the day I circled the perimeter but could not spot anything cache related - only mozzies and horse flies.
TFTC,
Looked at my stats last night and by getting 70 caches before the end of the year I will reach a massive statistic that I will never get another chance to achieve.
This year has been a massive year with so many achievements and reaching an average 8 caches per day would be a crown on top of everything else.
Headed south to build my numbers today and tonight I can work out where to go to tomorrow to reach that goal.
A quick find after a great cache close by.

Walking past we derverted to find this one, Wazza9 quicky had CIH, great hide, stamped the log and replaced. Thanks to Hipperooni.
Two quick caches after my run at Sandon Point. Rest of National Park is closed today.

In the area for other caches today and stopped to find this one. A nice no'r easter blowing that made the walk very pleasant. Took me a little while to finally locate for some reason. Any way signed the log and put back where found. Good idea for a container. TFTC Hipperooni and a F.P.
I saw this series go up after I got home from work and I thought I’d go for a quick look before soccer. Nice cache container, I’ve never seen one like this before. Thank you!
