A quick find by Mrs SKI as I turned the car round.

Another day in Goulburn which has some great caching. We are staying a while longer so we can join the Events scheduled for tonight.
Today we spent our time in and around town working an Ad Lab we had not finished and a range of caches we have not got to yet, and what a beautiful day it was for it.
We managed more multis, puzzles and quite a few traditionals, both in town and ventured up to Mount Gray.
Another good day with most caches in good condition and muggle traffic not too high.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache GLISS!.

We planned a day or two in Goulburn, and sent a text to Rapidlywild to see if she could join us.
Sunday seemed to suit, so the target was - to find as many multi's as we could.

Rapidlywild came organised with pen and paper and the questions written out.
That made everything much easier, when solving.
Some gave us a few headaches, but after checking sums, we came out with the right numbers.

Most logs were signed as 'TDR' (for The Drovers & Rapidlywild), to save on time and space.
A big 'Thank You' to Rapidlywild for joining us, and making the day so much more fun.

A quick find, signed and replaced. Dropped in 2 trackables.
Many thanks for placing this cache, GLISS!, for us and others to find.

Recieved a text from The Drovers who had plans to venture around Goulburn for the day doing a spot of caching before the terrible weather hits on Monday. Yeah awesome, I have a few to collect in Goulburn so would be nice to get a few more smilies around the area.

The weather was rather brisk and the wind would rip right through our jackets/jumpers today but we kept on chasing those smilies. Our main targets today were multi caches as there seems to have been an explosion of them around the place since my last visit. We managed to do ok today, had issues with one of the multis which unfortunately resulted in a DNF, a trad which will need to be archived as the property is now a private residence and a few very wet logs which we replaced with dry log sheets.

Being we were in the area, we decided to grab a couple traditionals, no issues with this one. There was no trackables located within this cache as identified by the prior logger. Most of todays logs were signed as "TDR" for The Drovers Rapidlywild to save space on the logs.

Thanks for the hides GLISS! Big Grin And thanks to The Drovers for a fun day out and about around Goulburn [^].

#12595 - 11:28:00 AM; Another mission to Goulburn with Sol de lune today to collect a few more caches to help with our various personal challenges. Not quite the smooth run we experienced on our last visit as we had a few more DNFs today, but the caches we found were for the most part in good condition and replaced as found when the logs had been signed. No problems here at our last stop for today's mission. TFTC GLISS! Smile

Up to Goulburn again for a morning of caching with LuckyL10n and this was our next stop. Headed over to grab this one before heading home. Wow, the grass is long around here as well. Spotted the cache in the second place I look and it was a quick signing before heading back to the car and turning for home.

Thanks again GLISS!....cache all good.

A few days caching in the ACT and surrounds with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats, another trip away like countless others that we have done before. We got the dates, we did the planning, we worked out a route. But there was one thing that we could not plan for; the weather.

The caches were excellent. The company faultless. The weather; atrocious. Rain, rain, rain. And then more rain. On several occassions we had to change our intended route, abandon plans, and even came home a day early. Alas, the rain had been predicated, but we had hoped it would stay away.

Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.

Cheers

Our first post-lockdown caching run with steeba, Hoojar and Wilbert had been planned for months and whatya know it - we forgot to let the weather gods know our plans. NSW experienced torrential rain and chilling winds across most of the state, but that didn't stop us.

Saturday's weather didnt show signs of improvement and our enthusiam for getting wet n cold was waning. We changed our plans a number of times before opting for an early finish to our weekend, but before another handful of finds ibetween Collector and Goulburn.

Picked the right post straight away

Well post-COVID restrictions (in 2021!), The Rats, Hoojar, Wilbert67 and I teamed up for an assault on the areas surrounding Canberra. Problem was the weather had other ideas so we ended up with a day in Canberra and chipping away at other caches around the edges, and came home a bit wet a day early.

Many great puzzles and hides on this trip.

First time in NSW for 4 weeks! Made use of the new found freedom to top up my Wherigo find numbers (to qualify for a nearby challenge), find a multi, and attend todays event in Goulburn. With some time remaining before the event, I continued north to clean up another of the roads out of Goulburn. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Today, Sui_001 and I headed out to Goulburn to clean up the caches in the area. We spent a total of almost 9 hours caching and I enjoyed every minute of it. Sui_001 is one funny guy.
There were some highlights for the day included 10 Lab caches plus 2 bonuses, 1 multi cache, and about 19 Trads for me and about 29 Trads for Sui_001 as we did some caches that I had done before. Not sure exactly how far we drove but it was many hundreds of kilometers. I love geocaching so much and the friends I have made along the way make it all worthwhile. I really enjoyed Loci612 Adventure Lab Cache that was a tour of all the old cemetery's in Goulburn. The bonus cache was great also as it had about 15 trackables in it and as we all know, I love trackables plus it was an ammo can.

Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with more than 40 caches today alone it gets hard to write a different one for each cache. Most caches were found in good order except for two that were missing (replaced for the owners), 1 that was broken and 2 that had very wet logbooks.

I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it.

Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN

My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

***** I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges Geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of today, my average was less than 160 words per log, which seems close to the 200-word target. However, given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 200 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 7500 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 160 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated. *****

ALL LOGBOOKS WERE SIGNED DSD OR DARKSIDE OR DARKSIDEDAN

#6393 7th for today

The weather is not promising to be nice this week. So best to make the most of it before it set in. The plan was to grab the new Adventure Labs in Goulburn and Crookwell as well as any solved puzzles, virtuals etc. I was not too ambitious and it all went surprisingly well with only 2 DNFs. The weather, while not warm, held off for the most part. I think this is my 3rd visit to Crookwell and there's not much left to do after today. Most places were pretty quiet, being midweek, but still ran into a few locals.

I do love a rail-trail.

Thanks GLISS!

I spent Saturday and Sunday driving between Yass, Crookwell, Taralga and Peelwood to visit is many of the caches in this region as I could. The new caches near Yass were all very clever hides that provide a great challenge. I fit in the new Adventure Labs in Crookwell in the afternoon before a chilly night at Bummeroo Ford. Sunday started foggy and stayed that way till after 10. I made it to Peelwood for a cache that I was blocked from on my last visit and finished the day with caches near Goulburn before heading home.

Thanks for the cache GLISS!

We decided to FFLLNo 2’s “muggle sister” out for drive around the area and collected some caches as we toured around taking in the sights. The weather was great, sun shining and not much wind. An enjoyable day all round, lots of laughs, and almost converted her to take up the game.

A quick grab at this one. TFTC GLISS!

20,013. Quick run up the road with minniek.

With this the only cache I've got to get around Goulburn at the moment we decided to head out on this rainy day for a quick find. I did the honours at GZ and we quickly headed home before it poured again.

Thanks GLISS! !!

Happy to just get one find on what has turned out to be a dreary day.

Even the sheep were running for cover from the incoming rain as we located and signed this cache.

Bonus for me as this one helps me qualify for a challenge cache too.

Absolutely love railway themed caches and abandoned places, as you can probably tell by a couple of my own hides back in Canberra! So was excited to visit this location and see the old line.

I think someone may have been watching me, as I left I came around the corner and a ute sitting on the road did a u-turn after I went past. Hmmmm..... hope it was nothing!

Thanks GLISS!

Was in Goulburn again today and after performing some more important duties I had enough time for a cache run until heading back to Canberra Big Grin

Found a couple of caches down the road from the Goulburn General Cemetery, which led me to an interesting dead-end I haven't been too before.

I then took a drive down Middle Arm road, and found all the caches along it. Another road I haven't travelled on before, so enjoyed being in the country and finding the interesting sites along the way which were highlighted by numerous caches.

My thanks to al the CO's caches I found along the way including:
GLISS!, team_lewin, Nibletricecakes, minniek, big-kahuna and Countrykittykat!

Our day was totally changed to what we were about to do, due to the heavy smoke in the air from the bush fires.
We ended up grabbing a couple of caches that were in the location we were at.
Grabbed this on our way home.
