Staying in Mt Gambier, we decided to take a trip to Penola. The coordinates were calculated and we headed towards GZ. There did not seem to be too many places to hide the cache, so the hint was used. It made no sense until we found the cache. Aha! I have seen this type of hide before, but it still gets me hunting every time.
Used 2B a Church Micro #0120 - Penola was transferred from GeocachingSA to user GeoSA_Hides
Ive had the corrected coordinates for ages and only now in the area to sign the log. A very straightforward multi and a quick find. TFTC GeoVenture2020
Yeeha! The Wild West is calling and Snips and Co and I are traversing along the Southern and Western Victorian borders.Today we will travel around Penola, hopefully finding a few geocaches in new LGAs and some scenic spots.this was one of our last stops before leaving this wonderful town.lots of churches, history and beautiful buildingssnips and co was clever with understanding the hint and we over complicated the search but soon a familiar container was spotted.
I do love a multi, but boy, was this a hard one! The waypoints were simple; we had the coords. Let's get this! Why did this take us so long? We consulted the hint, and we thought we understood it, but nothing appeared. There were quite a few good hiding spots at GZ, and I'm pretty sure we looked in every one of them except the right one. Finally, Kristy looked in that one spot we hadn't looked in, and to our surprise and relief, there was the cache. How did we miss that? Thanks, GeocachingSA
Freezing cold and we would be rugged up inside if it wasnt for geo caching. TFTC
Find # 15925Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 7. Naracoorte to HomeA day to take in the sites of the Naracoorte area before jumping back over the border. To head for home. Grabbing the odd cache along the way. TFTC GeoVenture2020

One of 5 multi caches found around Penola. Staying 2 nights in Coonawarra on this trip.Spoiled for caching and wine choices.Easy find with parking Many thanks
Found at 12:41 PM GAFF1.Don't know what it is about these "Used 2b" caches, but we are experiencing a lot of problems in working out the co-ords and then finding the little blighters - and they are nearly all micro's! Why?This one was no exception as it took a while to locate - actually had to bring in reinforcements after she came back from shopping nearby Thanks to GeocachingSA
07:42Final day on the road for us, heading homeward, after attending the Great Leap Forward Mega in Adelaide. What a great time, filled with finds, food, friendship and fun. It was good to add another U2B cache find to our list. Thanks to GeocachingSA for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.36653
SL at 3:55pm. After doing some studying this morning at home, I decided that I needed some fresh air and a change of scenery so a drive to Penola was in order. I took MuggleMasterKid9 with me and dragged along bdiaw. After having lunch from the local bakery and checking out the op shop, it was time to cache. Did a quick calculation for the final and headed there. It was not found quickly, but when we read the hint, it made sense.*Signed log as FWD and MMK9.*TFTC GeoVenture2020 and the challenge!
Suscoe was heading to Nelson today, it was a cool start at Murray Bridge and travelling through Keith the temperature dropped to around 3 degrees. But the sun came through and it ended up a lovely later Winter’s day. Our caching destination was Penola with Adventure Labs, Multis and Traditionals on our list.
Penola is a delightful little town with interesting history around every corner.
Thanks to GeoVenture2020 for this multi.

Aiming to find at least 10 types today. Sadly the inability to claim the Mega is affecting how many types we can get. HQ's and their rules are annoying at times.
This was the micro we nominated to find as we were in the area and had some time to make the find.

Today was another big day with the aim of finding 11 cache types in a day, but we weren't sure how we would go as the weather in Millicent was bad, cold, wet and windy! After meeting Doctor Owl in Millicent we set off on our day and thankfully didn't get too wet and by the time we reached Penola we had sunshine and blue skies. [^]
After a long day we achieved our goal and ended the day at the Carpenter Rocks Tavern for a lovely hot meal before going back to the accommodation to get warm and dry.
Had a lovely drive/walk around Penola gathering info for this and the Adventure Labs.

The great Geoventure 2020 tour....take 2...which is of course now in 2021 Once again it myself and AnyMules doing things that not many sane people would attempt. [:o)]
Day 6: Another very busy day for us as we started caching in the rain doing the wine bottle series. It dried out a little as we finished and we made our way to Penola for lunch. We attended the event and continued caching around there including some labs until it was time to go to the CITO and do some tree planting. Trees planted it was time to go for a walk do get the caches in the park but once again the rains came. Not deterred we continued caching in the rain until we had finished the wine glass, the GPS had switched to night mode and we were soaked.
* If anything was particularly interesting then there will be a comment
Here..
otherwise we found all the caches we looked for and they were in good condition.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks GeoVenture2020 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Had been down in Millicent for a couple of nights for some pre-mega caching and having achieved my main aims of all AdLabs in the area and some other selected caches had a few hours spare today before needing to head back to the little smoke (Adelaide). After making a start on the newish Crayfish series it was time for the long way home via five Used 2B a Church caches. This was the second, numbers quickly obtained, co-ords calculated and soon after my stamp was being added to the log.

Today it was back on the road again with ilook4geo after the week's lockdown in Mount Gambier. It was good to be caching again and our travels took us north and away from the rain, cold and strong winds of the last few weeks.
With so many caches on offer, it was a case of one, two, skip a few, three, four, skip some more. With the travel time needed we still found enough caches to keep us happy for the day.

This is our last day in South Australia as our impromptu holiday must come to an end and we are heading to Mount Gambier to do the lab adventures there and picking up any that pop up on the screen.
We have been watching with interest all these "Used 2B a Church Micro" caches popping up all over South Australia and decided to visit some of them on this unplanned trip.
The information was gained as the residents came out of the old church, we did the substitutions and made our way to gz where after a muggle moved away we were able to move in and grab the cache, add our name to the log and return everything as it was.

Day 327 ( Tuesday 21st ) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Penola today. A total of 2 for the day and 6340 the trip. TFTC
Found during a very enjoyable caching trip to the South-East of SA with e.gregory1 for a few days. On Day 1 we traveled to Robe via the coast road, Princes Highway, through Meningie, Salt Creek, Kingston SE and camping out for the night. On Day 2 we drove around Beachport to Millicent and completed the GV2020 puzzle series before resorting to cabin accommodation in Millicent due to deteriorating weather. On Day 3 we toured around Millicent, out to Kalangadoo to do the bottle component of the wine geo-art series (leaving the glass for another day), down to Mt Gambier and Port MacDonnell, then back for another night in the cabin. Day 4 saw us return home through Penola, Naracoorte and Keith and back along the Dukes Highway. Targeting a range of cache types (Traditionals, Puzzles, Earthcaches, Multicaches, Wherigos, a Letterbox and a Virtual), a multiple of cache attributes, and a wide variety of Difficulty/Terrain combinations resulted in some quick drive-by’s, tackling the trails, some tree-climbing, often using elevation devices and enjoying some nice walks and great scenic coastal locations. Thanks for the cache GeoVenture2020!
FeatherWaite and I thought we might chance our luck with the winter weather and head down to the south east for a few days of camping and caching. While the caching worked out well, the weather deteriorated quite a bit and we ended up having to abandon the camping idea after the first night and find ourselves a cabin for the next two. However, it did allow us to save some time and find a few more caches that we might otherwise have not got to in the time available.
After making our way down the Coorong, visiting a selection of targeted Traditionals, Multis and Earthcaches, we rolled out the swags on the first night under a beautiful clear (but cold) night sky near the coast south of Robe.
The following day we cached our way to and around Millicent until well after dark, picking up over 100 Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual and Earthcaches, including the GV2020 geoart series, before settling into a cabin for the evening.
Another day caching around Millicent on the Friday allowed us to find another 85 or so targeted caches before the rain arrived in earnest and we were glad of the cabin accommodation again that night.
We made our way back home to Adelaide the following day via Penola and Naracoorte, again picking up a nice variety of caches along the way.
Overall it was a great trip, with over 200 Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Letterbox , Virtual and Earthcaches found along the way, many with quite high difficulty and/or terrain ratings. Most of the caches were in good condition, unless otherwise specifically noted. Favourite points have been allocated to those that I particularly enjoyed or found very clever along the way.
Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches and the various puzzles. I am looking forward to my next visit to the region, possibly later in the year for the rescheduled Mega event at Millicent in October.

Today after a shift at the factory (I think a one off) I headed out to pick up a couple of caches that were required for the day.
Brilliant to see so many new caches in Penola since I last lived in the area. This has provided me with an excellent hunting ground for my anticipated week here in Naracoorte.
Today I needed a puzzle and a multi for my calendars. Lots of multis in Penola so will spread them out over days they are needed but not too many puzzles.
Ended up with 11 caches for my little trip out and one could not get to the log due to a lack of TOTT.
Couldn’t pass over a Used2B so picked this multi for today. Right I have just come from there and did wonder..... quick find at GZ. We used to love Pipers when we had jobs but now way out of our price range. TFTC

Sir_spectre and I wanted one more trip down to the south east before the Mega arrived and this was a great opportunity to find some geocaching artwork as well as get some of the higher terrain that have been published. An event was a bonus we were not expecting to get to but the caching gods allowed us to get there.

another church, another mirco. another multi closer to 750.
Back down to Mount Gambier with Mogni. She wanted to do mainteneance on some of her caches. Day 3 saw us slowly returning back to adelaide. After taking the coastal road down we took the inland road back. I think i finally have a almost ( less than 5 caches ) clear road from mount gambier to adelaide now. Any containers that needed maintenance were fixed and any log books that needed replacing or that where almost full where replaced with the mega coming. Also any small container had extra scroll placed in it for the coming mega in 4 weeks.

Found It!
Jesus has left the building. If Jesus was going to be anywhere, I thought this town would be the place for him. Collected the phone number and then off to GZ for a quick find!

A quick find here, cache is all good.
Today I set out to cache around the south east and collect a few caches here and there followed by some of the newish geoart. Followed by a few events. The evening came around and it was out in the car with Laighside legends, trigger_fish and the godfather (Freddo)
Overall 85 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache.

I was on my way from Adelaide to Mount Gambier (specifically Glencoe) this evening for a cave diving course weekend. It was an afternoon/evening of pouring rain, and not geocaching weather in the slightest! Still, I needed a geocache find to continue my streak, and specifically a multi-cache type for today's calendar day.
A new multi-cache in Penola suited me well for needing one of these types. I called past, and was amazed at this church conversion! What a cool restaurant now! Somewhere I would love to come back to to try, and hence check inside. I found the relevant information as the rain poured around me, and then retreated to my car to make the calculations. It was then a short drive to GZ, and thankfully, the cache didn't take long to find tonight. Logbook signed, and cache placed back, with no muggles around the place. Thanks GeoVenture2020 committee for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A lovely day out with hevwalker and my grandies; the kids were so excited to go caching and had some great ideas where caches could be found and placed when we were finding places for new caches for the GeoVenture2020 at Easter in Millicent along the way between finds. TFTC.
Heading out to find some caches and place some caches on this pleasant afternoon with scramping & her grandchildren...
The coordinates were quickly calculated before heading to the final location...
