24 Nov 2024 9:12am. The weather was Overcast Clouds 19C 75% 2 m/s . Found with PamJ. Great container but the log was mush surprisingly, so we replaced it. Thanks GeoSA_Hides for your contribution to the game. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Found with gmj3191 on our way to Penola. We are enjoying our stay in Millicent whilst exploring the area.
Staying at Mt Gambier, we decided to take a trip to Millicent today. Millicent was smaller than expected, so we decided to head to Penola for lunch. This cache was on the way. The coordinates are a bit off, bit I found the cache after checking several nearby locations.
Another delightful day of caching in the Millicent area. It was a mild day with cloud and at occasionally some very light drizzle, but mostly fine.We saw some wonderful coutryside, lots of birds, plenty of cattle and sheep and even a wombat late in the day up close near Beachport. We found some terrific caches. Thanks to GeocachingSA for this hide.
Had to read some logs to help locate out as coordinates were off by about 20m. Log is also a bit damp and could do with some attention.
Took us a while due to the coordinates being a little off, but got there in the end. Look closer to the fence!
We had a surprise couple of days free so we decided to head across the border in an a but unfortunately that was .attempt to find our 10,000th South Australian cache. Happily we achieved that yesterday and today we are doing a few more around the Millicent area before heading to Beachport for the night. We had hoped to be at the Millicent Mega but COV!D 19 put an end to those plans. we even had a permit organized to cross the border revoked four days out. It's now a couple of years later and we are finally finding some of the caches that were put out for the event. and appreciate the effort gone into placing them.We had a great time picking them upMany thanks GeoVenture2020 for these caches.
Found it. Greetings from . Having a weekend away to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary.
Gps position has a little latitude. Perhaps as much as much as 20m but a trees a trees. Watch for muggles.
Millicent to Penola
Stopped for only one cache on the roadside.
Spending the night at the CMCA cacping ground. This morning we did the ALs.
After lunch we headed south to Kalangadoo & did the wine glass only.
Thanks for placing your cache.

Lots of eyes, but we couldn't find it. We did find a tiny bat in the bark, though. Our thanks anyway to GeocachingSA.

Today was another big day with the aim of finding 11 cache types in a day, but we weren't sure how we would go as the weather in Millicent was bad, cold, wet and windy! After meeting Doctor Owl in Millicent we set off on our day and thankfully didn't get too wet and by the time we reached Penola we had sunshine and blue skies. [^]
After a long day we achieved our goal and ended the day at the Carpenter Rocks Tavern for a lovely hot meal before going back to the accommodation to get warm and dry.
This one took us a long time as the coordinates had us on one side of the road but the cache was eventually found on the other side quite a distance away. It was only when I came to log that I found the logs with updated coordinates.

This cache was only found because JJ thought it had to be over there. What that was when the coordinates that had showed GZ nowhere near it is beyond Owl but it certainly helps to have friends!

The weather is even more miserable but nothing was going to dampen our spirits, today’s mission was to finish boiling a giant crayfish ?? ??
Fueled up on delicious egg & bacon sangas, drinks and snacks stashed, we were on our way.
Along the way we kept our eyes peeled and managed to tick off a few trads and add some more smileys to our map.
Thanks to the many hands and minds putting together these series for the long awaited event.

Apologies for the generic log.
Uni and Medusa, Southern Cross Caching, and I ... shonkylogic spent the October Long Weekend in 2021 attending the Easter 2020 Mega Event at Millicent.
Along the way we stopped to find as many caches as we could - because we somehow convinced our better halves not to accompany us. Or perhaps it was because they really don't like caching as much as us.
We came well equipeed in the Pahero, with not one, not two but THREE TOTTs to help us. Even that wasn't sufficient for all the hides, sometimes you just don't have the right tool for the job.
However we had perfect tools for the Fishing series, and then went on to Kalangadoo for the wine series and stopped at a few others, some involving ladders or tree climbing.
We enjoyed meeting up with old friends, in these days of Covid is really is very special to be able to hold an event like this.
Thanks GeoVenture2020 for placing and maintaining the cache

Apologies for some almost generic logs today, it's a lot to get logged on a night when we miss an hour's sleep LOL But we certainly had a lot of fun finding each and every cache !

Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...

Found at 9:21 during a fantastic extended weekend away with Shonkylogic and Southern Cross Caching. We had grand plans to complete swathes of powertrails and solved puzzles, but the weather slowed us down a bit. Even so, it was a lot of fun, and we passed my goal - to get my 9000th find
Friday, day 1, had us driving and caching from morning in Adelaide until the 6pm event in Millicent.
Day 2 focussed on the fishing series, wine bottle, and numerous other caches in that vicinity.
Day 3 was our slowest, due to the worse weather, but still a lot of fun.
Day four, after doing SFE series and nearby caches, plus those we passed, I arrived home at about 8pm, after finding my 9000th cache along the way.
Great to catch up with many of the usual faces, some others we hadn't seen for a long time, and a few new faces too.
Thanks for the hides

In between a morning CITO and an evening dinner event in Millicent I spent a good portion of the day caching along and around the Overland track, completing most of the DRB series.
My GZ was a little off being about the centre of the road and after initially searching the wrong side of the road I eventually made the find.

This weekend, I headed to the Limestone Coast / south-east for cave diving, but also to find a few geocaches when time allowed. It was only a quick weekend travelling to Mt Gambier via Bordertown on Friday, and returning Sunday via Millicent and Kingston. I was able to fit in a visit south to Port MacDonnell on Saturday, and a few other small detours around Mt Gambier.
Today, I returned back towards Adelaide, detouring through Glencoe, Mount Burr, Millicent, Furner, Kingston, but then back tracking towards Keith due to a grass fire cutting off the Coorong Road.
After driving past here and making a stop, I managed to find the cache after a short search. The coordinates were 18-20 m out, and it sounds like this issue has been raised by many logs before, so could the CO team visit this one and check/update the coordinates as required? The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks GeoVenture2020 committee for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Took a little to get this one. Didn't realize the main road for such a small town could get sooooo busy for a Sunday arvo. It was the last day in the South East and we were heading to the Conservation Park caches.
And then back to Adelaide.

As there were two searches, one took one side of the road & I took the other...
I let my caches instinct take me to the correct tree.
