This event wasn't on my radar at all. But a nice morning caching in the vicinity with friends made the stop for a refreshing drink.
Nice to catch up with geocachers I haven't met before and also seeing some rare faces again.

Sorry I didn’t realise that this event was over lunch at a venue.
Jesswrigley and I will be along, and we’ll try to eat, but no worries if there isn’t sufficient room.

Looks like we may have a very small window of opportunity for a quick 'Hello' & a cold lager. ??
For those who have not met me before, I am a fairy tall chap, and I will be wearing a black darth vader t shirt.
See you all shortly

We hadn't planned on socialising today but after being contacted (several times, LOL ...) by a frustrated fellow cacher, regarding a few of our puzzle caches, we decided to do a quick maintenance run timed to have us end up at this event ... if only for a quick hello.
The maintenance run went well with the need to replace only one cache that was MIA.
All other caches were in good order & ready for visitors so we headed to the Tavern & a cold lager (or two).
A quick catch-up with Ghostgums, a bit of a ribbing aimed at karicka & introductions to alisnan over a cold Mexican tipple (Corona of course) & it was soon time to relocate to the dining room where us fussy Vegans watched on as the carnivores devoured their roadkill!
Here we encountered georode, JessWrigley, Davidwazza, DeafPhantom & her 'Terp' (sorry ... didn't get your name but lovely chatting ), chamad, grannysmith1947 (we missed Millie), Hatzoff, RoddyC & the ever smiling E_Smiley.
Various stories of misdeeds & successes made for welcome & healthy banter.
A great bunch of cachers who all seemed to have a great time, especially those bent on giving us a thorough brain-sucking over our simple but apparently entertaining puzzle caches located not too far away.
I certainly got an education from DeafPhantom (which I thoroughly enjoyed ) regarding my communications skills & E_Smiley turned on the charm to elicit secrets as yet untold even joining forces with Mrs VC to undermine my efforts at maintaining secrecy!
Mrs VC & I did happen to notice there were several furtive glances & pricked ears around the table as we went through the motions of giving minimal assistance re a few of our 'easy' caches.
All up a great catch-up event with familiar cachers & those not so.
I did notice a few early departures ... I wonder if there will be any unexpected 'Found it' logs coming through in the near future? [?]
Apologies if we missed anyone, please feel free to send a message of chastisement!
Thanks for staging this event GhostGums

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I took a drive to Capalaba to attend the Redlands community celebration lunch event. We managed to grab a few geocaches prior to the pub schnitzel lunch in the area, and then made the drive south to Robina to catch up with family. The afternoon allowed a few local geocaches to be discovered, before returning back to Brisbane after dinner.
I had scheduled this event in to our diaries, but I must have forgotten to RSVP until the morning, so apologies once again to the CO - I had also missed the fact that this event was being held at Capalaba Tavern, and also just assumed that it was being held in a local park. We do enjoy events around meal times, as it gives a chance to socialise with others whilst grabbing some tucker. It was baby Ada's first community celebration meal event, and after having an initial tantrum, she seemed to enjoy the atmosphere. It was nice to have met the CO after seeing their name around the place, and we decided to depart a little early so Ada could have her post-lunch afternoon nap in the car on the way to seeing family down south. Thanks GhostGums for the community celebration event organisation and hosting.

Thanks, GG - had a great time. Food was good, too, as was the chatting and the friendships.
Caching today brought us to the area to attend this event.
Great to be able to chat to fellow geocachers regarding geocaching things.

Attended the event today and meet some new to me cachers and saw the familiar faces of the event groupies, myself included in that group.
Some great conversations, along with the usual banter. I enjoy events just as much as the caching.
Thanks for putting this one on.

Redlands is an area I’ve not yet explored in my short time geocaching. I’ll be there 1 only.
Oh no I can't come and it 1.5 klms from home. I have a work Christmes party at Narangba at 11am and my other Christmas party at 4 pm at Victoria Point. Can't believe the both happen on the same day then a Celebration Event added to the list. Have fun everyone.
