Logs
Down from Whangarei in Christchurch for a while to visit our first grand daughter. Made time as well to get out and about finding a few caches, especially puzzles solved ages ago, to clear them off the list. This trad was a nice quick find once at GZ, but unfortunately only the tethered top was there. Could not see the bottom portion or the paper log. May need an owner check up. TFTC
I'm running a tad behind on my Bakers Dozen challenge this month (50 caches per month for 13 months), so I needed some quick fire caches on the way home from work tonight, since today is the last day of the month. Thankfully this cache was a quick find, even though it was dark and I was searching by phone torch light. Thanks for setting this one up.
I found this one with my sister on a quick visit down to Christchurch for a funeral. A quick find on a busy road. There was an icy cold wind today but sadly no snow here. Team Datt and going geocaching 2017 visited this cache. Thank you for the cache.
Passing here this afternoon with some time to spare so stopped for a quick find. All in good condition - signed log, TFTC.
First find for #Thecheefsir, intro to geocaching. Easy find, great trick with the lid.
Having solved a bunch of mysteries over the past couple of months, including the night before finding them. A spontaneous trip down was made by Kiwi Does Stuff and team Reschedule to collect some Canterbury caches. We have headed out to set ourselves a personal best for a days caching. The perfect caching wagon (a rental car) has been acquired allowing us to go anywhere with ease. All of the caches have made for an enjoyable weekend to remember and resulted in a solid and best days caching.Apologies for the generic log, all caches signed are a mixture of Res, Resch & Reschedule - a big thanks to the CO for creating, placing and maintaining all of their caches. TFTC!
Having solved a few Mystery caches in the area, a last minute decision was made along with Reschedule to fly to Christchurch for Queens birthday weekend.A last minute rush at home before flying to solve some more mysterys, but that still wasnt enough, so after finally arriving at 11pm, out with the laptops to solve a few more.Saturday morning we set out with a goal, to set a new personal best. Having seen what numbers others did in the area, that shouldnt be too hard. We had some targets in mind, Eclipse, Skelly, Smurfs along with any traditionals and other random mystery caches we come across. We aquired the best vehicle for the job, a rental car! Overall we thorouhly enjoyed it, but we did not quite complete it all, so we will be back. TFTC and thanks for giving us an excuse to head for Christchurch!
A bigger size than I was expecting. Tying it down was a good idea as I think it would probably have disappeared by now. Thanks.
Unfortunately this cache is now in a state that it needs immediate maintenance, there is no container and log is in such a bad state you can no longer write on it properly. I only managed to get a portion of our name on it. As we are on holiday we left most of our replacement gear at home so couldn't even make a temporary repair. tftc#7239
Found within amazing trip around New Zealand. Thanks for nice cache ....................................................................... TB Koumesovo geopivo DDEV7M
Sorry- I had read some earlier logs, and intended to bring a container. But we forgot. Managed to scribble a resemblance of initials on the damp log. tftc
This really needs a sistema big enough for swag. Sadly we didnt have one. End of an epic caching day from Arthurs Pass.
I didn't have a spare container with me or I would have put one round this cache. It needs a new container. TFTC
Down in the Christchurch area with woolwood9. Day 1, mainly the Smurf puzzle series, although we still have some unsolved that will have to wait for another time.SL *tm/ww NZ*Thank you for providing the reason for our trip Still needs fixing although the temporary log paper it okay.
Headed to Christchurch for a quick geocaching trip with tmann421.Enjoying the tour around the area finding caches some more challenging than others.Signed all logs *tm/ww NZ* Thanks to the owners for their efforts in maintaining their caches for us to find.No container here, signed the paper that was in the plastic bag.
Another cache that StreetWalkerNZ had found on a solo expedition, but as we were driving past, he stopped so I could look for it. Spotted the covering material quickly and there was the cache. Added a scrap of paper as a temporary log book as the current one is not up to the job. No container either, just a plastic bag with a few swaps. TFTC.
Great park n grab with blunsdon. Unable to sign as wet n mushy..Thank you for the cache
Did a detour from Event in Dunsandel to sign the log. The cache is wet and log is now full and fragile. Thanks for the cache Brodiewill.
Found the cache but had the same issue as the previous person the log was wet so photo for proof
Avenging a DNF.
This cache isn’t in much better shape now than it was last year when it found itself on the business end of a lawnmower. No container - just a soggy baggie and some sort of plastic deal. Too wet to sign so photo attached.

Nice and easy cache this cache brightened up our day, as 2 previous dnfs on other caches. Tftc.
I came to Christchurch with my muggle wife, While she attended Wool Fest, I got a full day to go caching.
This was my first stop as I headed west. A quick scan and I spotted the camo. TFTC.

Heading into Christchurch (obviously) and stopped for this one. A quick find. #6313. TFTC.
Today I got up early and hit the road to see how many caches I could find between Christchurch and Springfield. The weather was quite good, not too hot and not too cold. I really enjoyed my time exploring the back roads of Canterbury. This was the first cache I came to. Parked close to GZ and found the cache in the first place I checked. TFTC, Biggles.
#22296. I'd scouted out the location of this one on Monday (on the way back from finding a cache at the Yaldhurst Cemetery) which meant it was a quick find today. Right, that's this area cached out (probably just as well as I don't particularly enjoy biking this section of Yaldhurst Rd). TFTC.
#12,376. I am staying at my sisters place near Leeston and making my way towards the city and up to the north for a biggish day of caching and doing ad labs. I stopped here without checking recent logs. After only finding what appears to be bits of the original cache I read the past logs and realised it has been trashed by a weedeater. I found the best remaining bit of the original and put a new log sheet inside that bit. Then covered it with a rock to protect it from future mowing efforts. Thanks Brodiewell for the cache.
Oh dear. We are the fifth DNF in a row. I think it needs maintenance. It is a good spot but maybe needs hiding higher up to avoid the lawnmower.
Couldnt find the cache itself but i found what i think were remains of it, must of been found by a weed whacker
No luck here grass mowed and lots of bits of rubbish. Found what might be remains of cache spread around, see photo.
I seem to be missing something. Couldn’t find anything at GZ. The area appeared to be freshly mowed, though.
Noticed this cache on the map the other day so a quick find driving past today. TFTC
9.52pm 3-Jan-22 No.1 for today. I remembet finding another 'welcome to' csche hear years ago. TFTC.
How welcome was this cache ! it restored my faith in geo caching after just so many Did Not Finds on the worked out puzzles around Chch. This was straight forward and this new style systema container is alot more water proof than the old common style. so all was well here with everything nice and dry ! an early start to the day .
thank you for this cache
thank you for this cache
I needed a couple of caches for today to bring my daily average up to 3 so this is one I chose. Quick easy find on a Sunday afternoon. Many thanks.

Lots of traffic returning to Christchurch and departing so it was quick grab and replace when there was a gap. Thanks Brodiewill.
Nice quick find for the last cache of the day. A big cir circuitous route to grab enough numbers for a challenge I'm working on. I think I have completed it but time will tell when I complete the associated paperwork. TFTC Brodiewill # 17,551
Finally remembered to pull over and grab this one. It was a quick find. TFTC.
Time to head home after a last minute trip to the big city...but not before grabbing a few more along the way ..quick find tftc
This has been on my list to find for quite some time, but I rarely travel on this road so it has just had to wait for me. . Stopped by on the way back into the city after lunching at Darfield. Easy find, but I hate these new hard-to-open Sistema containers. TFTC BW
We came over to do abit of maintenance that turned out not to be necessary but stopped to find a couple of new caches that had popped up since our last visit which made the trip not entirely a waste. We had actually hidden a cache here previously without activating it and then picked it up on our next trip through as development had started in the paddock behind GZ. Looks like that is no longer and issue here so we are happy to pick up a smiley instead this time. Thanks for the cache
