Logs
3rd time unlucky. Read all the logs, remembered the hint change, tried all the coordinates etc. This really is my nemesis.
There is no signal in Spencer Park so he couldn't find it because the map was too laggy but we did spend about an hour trying to find it.
After a long search i finally got there. Make sure yiu choose the right path! I didnt find it in the end but i will be reading every log and going back an trying again
Wow - that was tough. I was absolutely determined to get this one, especially since it was found a couple of weeks ago by labcal7. My first attempt left me empty handed because I couldnt get cell signal to find coords when I got close. The second time I came armed with a bit more info but still had no joy. Today I once again conducted a thorough search and still no joy so I returned home and read through EVERY log and returned this arvo for one more crack. As I was about to give up again I remembered one comment in one of the logs and finally had my hands on the container. Man, that was so much harder than it should have been but Im thrilled to tick it off!
Given the number of dnfs by more experienced cachers, confidence of a find was not high. Reading the logs I picked up on a number spoilers and knew where not to look. Cache located within seconds of arriving at GZ, spoilers proved helpful. Photo of cache container added as proof of find; TFTC
I did see comments in recent logs about inaccurate coordinates and the hint no longer applying but we gave it a good go anyway. We had to leave without earning a yellow smiley.
Nope!
Came in by bike on my normal ride, but came up empty on this one. Not too many things matching the hint any more -- only trees and pine needles.
Local ranger who helped with this confirmed today that cache is still there just many pine needles from years of dropping.
I spent a stupid amount of time that I won't get back looking for this cache. I don't think it is here any longer.Or if it is, the coordinates are well out. I tried all suggested coordinates from other logs. The hint is apparently wrong. Why hasn't it been updated? Also, many people have said the coordinates are not right. By now, the CO should have checked them. There have been numerous dnfs recently and one dubious find. At the very least, this should be disabled until the CO checks it to stop others having a futile visit.
No sign of a cache here this afternoon, either at the listed coordinates or at the suggested alternative ones from a previous log. Any possible hint objects appear to have died long ago. CO attention needed?
Took me a while even with the corrected coordinates, so many pine needles everywhere! TFTC
This log got away from me the first try, so now the real log. We are camped nearby so we took a walk in the woods this morning. Got to here expecting a short search, but instead found nothing. Should really log a DNF, but a short ways down the trail we got enough reception to get the previously posted coords. Went back to a spot I had actually checked in my expanded search, but not carefully enough. This time a bit closer look uncovered the prize, about 20m from where my device thought GZ should be. Happy to sign the log and drop a TB we brought from California. Recommend the CO update the coords to those posted in recent logs. Thanks.
Used the coords a few logs back and quickly found about 3 meters West of the track.
The Cords for this Cache needs attention We spent ages looking for it and finally found the Cache 18 meters away on other side of the track.
One of two caches I located this afternoon on an enjoyable bike ride in the Bottle Lake Forest. I had previously searched for this one without success. After reading recent logs (and alternative coords) I thought I’d give it another go. Spent quite a while looking in different spots and was starting to think this really was an exercise in futility! The original coords took me to the seaward side of the track, but couldn’t find anything there. Zeroed in on a big tree (inland side of the track) as per BaldEd’s coords S43 26.397 E172 42.809. So many potential hiding places amongst all the pine needles! Eventually spotted what I was after. My coords at that point were S43 26.396 E172 42.808, only fractionally different from those mentioned above. Very glad to have knocked this one off! #4506. TFTC.
Spent some fruitless minutes searching in vain, then remembered Brodiewill's coordinates are often a bit out. Read the logs, and sure enough realised that the cache was on the other side of the track (west) as compared to the indication. Looked in a likely spot, and there it was! TFTH!
Spotted a likely spot as I got off my bike. None of the listed TBs are here. Thanks for placing Brodiewill

Visiting from Nelson, enjoying the bike trails here.
My GPS had me going around in circles on the wrong side of the track.
Eventually read back a few logs and tried the other side.
Looked twice at an obvious feature before making what should have been an easy find.
Picked up the TB

A lovely sunny day so came out for a family walk...folliwed the tracks to this gz for a quick find and sign then cut to the beach for a longer walk. Heaps of people out and about enjoying the day.
It was very pleasant walking through the trees, just had to watch out for mountain bikers whizzing past.
We had noted the alternative co-ords, but even so the GPSrs took us on a merry dance under the tree cover. After changing its mind twice, my GPSr finally pointed to a spot not too far from the track, but on the other side from where we initially looked. The new GZ looked rather daunting - so many hiding places - but luckily it didn't take too long to sniff out the good sized cache in its wee cave.
Left a TB. Last cache find of the morning. TFTC.

#20325. Last of four finds today. My cache radar wasn't working well today, as Troodles made all of the finds. I tried the published and alternative coords for this without success (both had me on the seaward side of the track). Thankfully Troodles decided to search on the other side of the track, and she found the cache. TFTC.
Spent quite a bit of time looking on the wrong side of the track but then read the logs. Thanks BaldEd for the updated co-ordinates (S43 26.397 E172 42.809). Would not have found it without this.
Yay, finally found it. It is right where it should be... if you're a woodland creature
Found after reading BaldEd’s log as his coordinates were spot on. Thanks for the walk today. Plenty of muggles passing me by. TFTH
We looked for this one soon after publication but the area around GZ looked like a tornado had been through it and we quickly gave up as we didn't want to add to the damage.
Came back today armed with the new co ordinates. The ones Ivss_xx supplied worked for us and the cache was a quick find. TFTC.

I broke away from my Monday Cycle Group bike ride at Spenser Park to go find this cache. After scratching around the bases of all the trees near where the gps stated GZ was and finding nothing, I extended out further and further out before finally catching a glimpse of a corner of the container. My coords S43 26.397 E172 42.809. TFTC
A nice quick find today thanks. Ivss_xx coordinates were good. A further hint landward.
Ms_KR and I had a weekend in Christcurch, and spent a little bit of time cruising around some "local" caches.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Found on a dog walk. Well, this one was a bit of a wander around.
After failing to find anything around nearby bushes, I started reading comments. OK, so not next to a bush, rather than at a base of a tree. OK, still wandered in circles a lot, nothing. Then I found the log with coord update and decided that the cache should be somewhere on the line from the old to the new coords. This was the right approach!
I found the cache, on the other side of trail than shown. And also actually the original coords were more precise than the new ones. A bit out still but closer to where the cache is.
My reading was S 43° 26.401 E 172° 42.807
Also, there is not a single trackable item in the cache. What happened to all those??
Kia ora! Paldies!

A special trip back for us and chose a day when cycling would be sparse. By now we knew that the hint was not correct, we used the new co-ords and it was a quick find. A very well presented container and an enjoyable stroll. Thanks BW
I came out here when this was first published but couldn't find it. This time I came armed with a hint from the CO, the hint on the cache page is incorrect, it's at the base of a tree not a bush. I enjoyed the bike ride out here, Tftc!
No luck today.
The area looks thoroughly trashed. Enjoyed the walk
Next time.......

Dont know if its our phone and the GPS but both were still well out. After about an hour we were ready to give up again and go home. Decided to have one last look well away from where we had been looking. There it was in plain sight. Sigh of relief and home for some lunch. TFTC
[FTF] with KiwiCampNut, Vallenesca, SonofAnarchy, Geomurph & LilSoA.
A great hunt around before I finally spotted it a little way away from where our co-ords had led us to.
(Minimal to no coverage so ideally download before coming if you're heading this way )

I managed to be first on site but not the first to locate the cache as it was the extra clues given to the others in the group that I hadn't heard that helped. Knotobsessed found it about 11m out from where co-ords say. Combined FTF even with Murphy helping.
