I made my way out to Ballarat from Melbourne earlier in the day to run some errands. After they were completed, I still had a few hours to spare in the afternoon. I recall finding a few caches in this area a while ago, and I still had plenty more to find. I decided to return to this area to spend my final few hours of the day finding some caches hidden around it. It was quite an overcast day with some light rain forecast, so I was hoping to make the most of it. Another easy find as I made my way along the trail. Unfortunately, much like the previous cache, there was a bit of water in the container and the log was very wet. Luckily however, it was still signable, which I signed as PagC.TFTC
A great walk in the still forest today. Not a sound except the distant call of the odd bird and even more distant odd truck. Some of these caches were out by 15m or so, so fan out if having trouble. Thanks to deanside and Tenkae who added to the fun. Logs signed as TAD and stamps used when the logs were soaked! Thanks GemmaSistema and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!
Spending my birthday the best way I know, caching in the bush and with great friends in the company of Tenkae and TeamAstro!!!!Thanks GemmaSistema for showcasing this area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Thanks to GemmaSistema for this cache along this walking track. It was an overcast and cool walk to these caches. along the Goldfields track.A pleasant wander, one walker was met on the track but surprisingly no bird calls were heard at all. We did hear some squeaky trees though. We were amazed at the deeply rutted tracks both from motorbikes as well as large high clearance vehicles.
Logged as Jtt2. Out for a Mothers Day drive. Quick stop for a couple of caches so the geodog could have a walk. There was water in this container too. Lid was on properly. Tipped it out, may need some TLC
TFTC. Setting up camp for a week in Murray Bridge before the MEGA for 29th Feb!Moving to Ballarat for another week afterwards. Last hurrah travelling before wooding season at home starts!Happy caching and safe travels!
Looked for about 1 minute then found it The log was wet so we dried it & put it in a zip lock bag Thanks Gemma for this one
Day 2 of getting sidetracked from completing the Ballarat GeoTour. I enjoyed my walk around the Koala reserve so much yesterday that today i thought i would return to do some more walking. The plan was to walk/cache for 4 hours and then take 2 hours to return. At 12 p.m., I decided i wanted to keep going rather than retrace my steps, so i organised a pick up at the other end. This was one of the many caches l found today.
what a crazy day. this morning at 11 o'clock we set out to go caching on a 12km walk. although we missed the last few due to the sun setting alittle earlier than we had planned we managed to get 45/50 we stopped for a picnic along the way and thankfully our legs aren't in too much pain. i'd be lying if i said my feet didn't hurt but my face hurts more from smiling. thanks to gemmasistema for the majority of this trail and a couple from some others great scenic walk and i'll be back to snag those last couple i missed.
I came to Ballarat for a brunch event, then spent the rest of my time in the bush. Apart from the first and last, it was a GemmaSistema day. Another one that needed emptying of water.
Thanks to GemmaSistema for the cache.

A Sunday stroll on a Thursday… why not! The log was very wet and water logged on this one, emptied and signed TFTC
?????? - log was too wet to write our names but Simba ooshie will protect the cache!??
Chook (from chooknchunk) and I have wanted to do this hike through the bush collecting all the caches along the way for it seems "ages" - Only took us over a year lol before both could make it. Well, we car shuttled half way to the end so we could fit more caches in. We talked, laughed and had a most enjoyable day - hoping to return earlier than later to finish the trail.
Decided to do this twisty and narrow sunday stroll - both enjoyed a lot.
thanks Gemma for these well placed caches.

After walking the lower half of the Eureka Track this morning, Chook and Sunset62 had a quick bite to eat then headed off to stroll along this narrow twisty bike/walk track to find the Sunday Stroll caches, returning along Codes Forest Rd back to the car.
Thank you GemmaSistema for the effort in placing all these caches so we could come out here and enjoy them. A favourite point for this nice little series.

After the first four caches down the other end of the track, it was time to head up this for a few more. Another section where the track was good and again it wasn't long and the cache was in hand and the log signed.
Thanks GemmaSistema, great morning to be out here. Cache all good.

Well, we're actually driving in our 4x4 Ute, but it is Sunday, and this is our 10th cache at 1:20pm on this Australia Day. Another square, waterlogged one we dried in the handy sun. SL TFTC
We spent a about 10 days on the road with aqau caching around St Arnaud, Ballarat and Daylesford areas.
Thanks for your cache.
Thanks for your cache.
Cache maintenance is a cache owner responsibility and includes regular visits to the cache to ensure it is in proper order, especially when a seekers report a problem with the cache.
Based on a number of previous logs, perhaps it's time for the CO to make a visit to this cache please.

This week is my first time caching in Ballarat.
Here for the week, doing a training course for work.
Should have a few hours free each afternoon... Let's see how many caches I can seek out in the next 4 days...
Tonight I'm on the Goldfields Trail, Wallaby Track section... Started from the South...

Been through here many times in the MTB but never stopped for these - it’s nice to walk this area. TFTC
It's amazing what you can find so close to home when you have time to stop and explore.
Here we diverted. I don't; think LL could handle seeing green dots on the map when they are so close
Thanks GemmaSistema for placing and maintaining these for us to enjoy.
Left lots if swaps where we could.

We have headed to Ballarat to attend doctor appointments and in our spare time head out to areas that we have not cached in to find the many geocaches that have popped up in the forest areas. Most of the roads were acceptable, some geocachers were on walking/bike riding section which hubby hiked on and I drove the car and would pick him up along the way. All geocaches were found and were in good condition. SL TFTC
Hunted a little, but got it in the end! Late logging, but found on smilie hunt along this awesome track. It was the perfect day for it!
Walking up the track, saw a couple of push bikers but they suddenly diverted to the right. Tracks all over the place in here. Cache all good, thanks for the hide.
Find #2708 for me. Found at 11:13 am with my dog Bonnie. Finally, time for a Sunday stroll in the bush to complete this Sunday Stroll series! I started it back in May 2020, so why did it take so long to complete? Well, firstly all of those lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 kept interfering with my regular visits to Ballarat; then so many new caches were placed in the area such as the Ballarat GeoTour which drew my attention away from this little series; then my Sunday visits to Ballarat were largely replaced with Saturday visits and I really wanted to do this series on a Sunday, just for fun! Anyway, this really was the perfect Sunday morning to be in this wonderful location and both Bonnie and I really did enjoy our little Sunday stroll this morning, so thanks for this great series Gemma and thanks for the cache!

It may not be Sunday, but me and the dog are up for a stroll through the forest. First impressions are good. TFTC.
This cache had a large pool of water inside. After draining it out we were grateful for our powertank pen and the write in the rain log paper. TFTC
Another very wet log which needs maintenance.
Before coming to Ballarat for the weekend with Connie of (ConnieandRick) we completed all but one of the Christmas Downunder series. We decided to pick them up this afternoon and then continued on for a few traditionals.
We walked a lot further than we originally intended but were glad of the beautiful day.

The last of 34 finds in one afternoon. I nearly laid down in eth road and didn't look but then thought, come on, just do it, the car is here so its not long before you sit down.
We had to track through some bush because we were on the wrong track! But we found it. The log was too wet to sign.
Another easy find in this beautiful area! Yes, cache still contains a little water but log is fine (waterproof paper). TFTC!

Found the little stump while out on a Sunday stroll and found another container with water in it. Emptied it out, contents and logsheet were fine though. Now the walk back up Codes Forest Road to the geomobile begins. Thx GemmaS, enjoying this trail on a lovely Sunday morning.

Off for a Sunday in the bush around Creswick. With bikes on board we tackled the Goldfields Track, Sunday stroll caches and a couple of others around.
Based at the picnic grounds we made our way south first. Then done the north ones after lunch.
The bush was full of buzz today as we seen a number of motorbikes, 4x4s, other bike riders, bush walkers, gold fossickers using both pans and detectors and the campers both in the camp grounds an others in the bush.
On our way around we tackled everything from hard pack roads, gravel, clay, rough course stone roads, rock drops, deep mud and even deeper puddles, not to mention a number of trees over the track/roads we had to climb over (who goes around ) but we made it through to the end with over 50 caches found for the day.
After the ride, with all the mud and clay we went through our bikes were caked over and a little heavier. Not to forget our jackets that were splattered up the back. YEP WE HAD FUN ALRIGHT! A great days caching out in the bush.
All caches were found quite quick thanks to good hints.

Find No. 3377. Found with FUF009 at 12.45pm.
Headed down to Creswick with FUF009 and our bicycles on board to do the trails down that way.
Pulled up at the picnic area and headed off. The park was alive with Gold Prospectors, walkers, motor cycle riders, cyclists and four wheel drivers.
All caches were easy to find. Some terrain was challenging but that is what caching is all about - the challenge.
We all had a very enjoyable day, walking and cycling through the park.

Mmmm quite a stroll is took to this one on my bike, couple of scratches but I’ll survive.
Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
So after making it to South Australia, crossing the border and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter I then made my way west along the Eyre Hwy and I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy on which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie.
I then toured the Eyre Peninsula and throughly enjoyed the 2 national parks down the bottom of it.
COVID got in the way and interrupted my dates so the planned Yorke Peninsula part of the trip will have to wait for another time except for Port Germein and Crystal Brook.
Finally recrossed the border back into Vic after being in SA for 3 great weeks near Pinarroo
And stayed at Murryville for the night.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
Made Beaufort yesterday afternoon and found a few in the afternoon.
Today is a new day so I got up early to tackle the tracks around here to find a few Christmas trees and to drive/walk a bit of the Goldfields trail as well.
After driving around the tracks for awhile it was time to get out stretch the legs and go for a stroll around the tracks, only thing is today is not Sunday.
So made my way to the little stump and there is only a couple of those around here.
Made it back to Codes Forrest Rd and now to find where I left the Geocruiser luckily I pinned it and now to add some more kms on to the legs.
This was a great series and a pleasant walk through the bush.
2 cars would come in handy for this.
Thanks GemmaSistema TFTC.
