After finishing some laundry and general chores around the house this morning, I decided this afternoon would be a great time to make my way out here to find a few geocaches. I have already found a few geocaches in this forest in the past, but I still have plenty more to find. When I arrived, I found myself a suitable place to park and hopped out of my car before making my way along this trail on foot. I managed to locate nearly twenty caches today, but I still have many unfound, so will certainly be back out here again! This was my final find for the day on what I believe is my third attempt at searching for this cache. During my first visit here, it was starting to rain as I neared GZ so I decided to return to my car. During my second visit, there was a police car with an officer sitting in it, and another officer standing outside next to it, parked up across the road from GZ. Their vehicle was also parked behind my car so I figured it was best to leave this cache for another time. Im not entirely sure what they were doing out here. Ticketing dirt bikers perhaps? Who knows. Anyway, third time lucky with finding this cache. It was a quick find and the cache and its contents were in good condition. TFTC
Found by Mary and David at 14:25. Plenty of time to kill before the first Event tonight. Quick one. Our thanks to GemmaSistema.
A great walk in the still forest today. Not a sound except the distant call of the odd bird and even more distant odd truck. Some of these caches were out by 15m or so, so fan out if having trouble. Thanks to deanside and Tenkae who added to the fun. Logs signed as TAD and stamps used when the logs were soaked! Thanks GemmaSistema and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!
Spending my birthday the best way I know!!!!Loving this series on a lovely trailThanks GemmaSistema for showcasing this area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Another quick find with the sound of motorbikes in the distance and the sound of wind in the pine trees . Having a great day TFTC
TFTC. Setting up camp for a week in Murray Bridge before the MEGA for 29th Feb!Moving to Ballarat for another week afterwards. Last hurrah travelling before wooding season at home starts!Happy caching and safe travels!
A pleasant morning for a few finds along the forest walking trails.A quick find here. Thanks to GemmaSistema for placing this cache.
Road was getting rough but LumpyR was having fun. We quickly found the cache after we checked exactly where GZ was. Tftc
Bouncing here then bouncing there but finally found it. Replaced the log. And these blowies / March flies are horrible tftc
Time for Mr. Lazy aka JTreeTrack2 to catch up on some logs. Sorry to the cache owners for the lag. I have enjoyed finding every cache I have found and appreciate all the effort that has gone in to placing and maintaining the caches. Hopefully I will find more caches and give a more timely and personalized logThanks again for placing the cache.
Day 2 of getting sidetracked from completing the Ballarat GeoTour. I enjoyed my walk around the Koala reserve so much yesterday that today i thought i would return to do some more walking. The plan was to walk/cache for 4 hours and then take 2 hours to return. At 12 p.m., I decided i wanted to keep going rather than retrace my steps, so i organised a pick up at the other end. This was one of the many caches l found today.
what a crazy day. this morning at 11 o'clock we set out to go caching on a 12km walk. although we missed the last few due to the sun setting alittle earlier than we had planned we managed to get 45/50 we stopped for a picnic along the way and thankfully our legs aren't in too much pain. i'd be lying if i said my feet didn't hurt but my face hurts more from smiling. thanks to gemmasistema for the majority of this trail and a couple from some others great scenic walk and i'll be back to snag those last couple i missed.
I came to Ballarat for a brunch event, then spent the rest of my time in the bush. Apart from the first and last, it was a GemmaSistema day. Got it. At this point I headed back to my car via Codes Forest Rd, the namesake of this cache.
Thanks to GemmaSistema for the cache.

Log a tad damp, but signed log okay and replaced as found, no worries. Thanks for the cache!
Thanks to the log messages we realised that the cache was no longer at the co-ord (the new is at the base of a nearby giant!)
Chook (from chooknchunk) and I have wanted to do this hike through the bush collecting all the caches along the way for it seems "ages" - Only took us over a year lol before both could make it. Well, we car shuttled half way to the end so we could fit more caches in. We talked, laughed and had a most enjoyable day - hoping to return earlier than later to finish the trail. thanks Gemma for these well placed caches.
Chook and Sunset62 had been talking about doing the Eureka Trail for ages. Eventually the stars aligned and today was the day. We car-shuttled to park one halfway, and set off on the trail on this glorious autumn day. All caches were found and were generally in good condition. We absolutely had a ball, lots of banter and laughs, and we can't wait to come back soon to finish the other half.
Thankfully the hint here perfectly matched the cache. However as previously noted, there used to be a tree at posted coords, but it has obviously fallen across the road and been completely removed. We found the cache quickly enough about 17metres to the north west of the posted coords, as it was the obvious other place to look. Rough corrected coords S37 30.488 E143 54.604
Thank you GemmaSistema for the effort in placing all these caches so we could come out here and enjoy them.

After the first four caches down the other end of the track, it was time to head up this for a few more. Another section where the track was good and again it wasn't long and the cache was in hand and the log signed.
Thanks GemmaSistema, great morning to be out here. Cache all good.

Found our 8th cache for the day at 12:55pm. This one had a moth trapped inside, it had crawled in on the plastic toy. Not certain if it was alive but we were unable to dislodge the toy, so had to leave the moth there. SL TFTC

TFTC - out with Crack n Lee Lee to complete this part of the Goldfield Track. Great day out.
Cache quickly found and it was time for a lunch stop.
2beez had said earlier it was difficult to buy some rolls from Coles this morning, so she got what she could.
Wee wee it was like a touch of France arrive at the Goldfields track. Have never seen anyone willing to hike with a jar of pickled cucumbers before. I guess there is a first for everything! Oh and yes they were nice
Thanks GemmaSistema.

We have headed to Ballarat to attend doctor appointments and in our spare time head out to areas that we have not cached in to find the many geocaches that have popped up in the forest areas. Most of the roads were acceptable, some geocachers were on walking/bike riding section which hubby hiked on and I drove the car and would pick him up along the way. All geocaches were found and were in good condition. SL TFTC
Despite the wind, it's a great day to be out and about, adding smilies to my map. The time is here to tackle a few more on the Trail.
Stopped the car and there was a guy sitting on a pushbike. It was a bit off-putting out in the middle of nowhere. I think perhaps he was trying to work out where he was. Anyway, we searched for the cache once he was gone, and found it without any issues. TFTC.

Find #2683 for me. Found at 12:41 pm with my dog Bonnie. Today I took a day of annual leave to complete the Ballarat GeoTour and continue this Goldfields Track series. I was definitely lucky with the weather as today was much cooler than it had been in Wangaratta over the weekend! This one was the next unfound on my Goldfields Track list (gong from south to north) so the obvious place to start. Thanks for the series and the cache Gemma!
On reflection this would have been a good spot to park the car and start the trail from, but we didn't mind beginning earlier. A quick find and sign here before the ants got too upset. TFTC
Enjoying the outdoors, escaping the rat race & exploring around the Creswick area.

This was the last cache of the day and we were flagging a bit by the end
Before coming to Ballarat for the weekend with Connie of (ConnieandRick) we completed all but one of the Christmas Downunder series. We decided to pick them up this afternoon and then continued on for a few traditionals.
We walked a lot further than we originally intended but were glad of the beautiful day.

A quiet day, not like a weekend here, meant no muggles to see us get this one
