After attending an event in Ballarat I decided to check a few caches on this trail. The cache was found in good condition.
A lovely walk today, with just a gentle breeze. Quite different to the last few days! The wildflowers are blooming and the ground is muddy. Quite the perfect combination! TFTC
With today finally being decent weatherwise, I decided I would make my way out here to Ballarat and attempt to find a few caches hidden along this trail. It was a very overcast afternoon when I finally arrived at the beginning of the track. I began making my way along the track and very quickly realised I would need to be very careful. There has been plenty of rain lately and many parts of the track were very muddy and slippery. I cautiously made my way along the path, managing to avoid slipping over while finding the caches hidden along it. After walking and finding caches for about an hour, rain began to fall, which then made me decide to return to my car. All in all, I had an enjoyable walk along this trail and was very happy that I had found most of the caches I searched for.I had a little bit of initial difficulty find this cache. My phone was constantly pointing me to a certain area, but I could not locate the cache there. I also searched around some of the surrounding area but could still not find it. I then checked the hint, which gave me a good idea of where I could expect this cache to be. I was hoping I could find this cache soon as I could hear dirtbikes in the distance which sounded like they were approaching along the track. I expanded my search area even more and was then able to find the cache, not quite how the hint was implying. The log was a bit wet but still signable.TFTC
Did a few of the caches in this series, so thank you for making our walk more enjoyable! Found that sometimes the cache was a few metres away from the coordinates, but hard to say if coordinates are a little out or if it's just my phone sucking (probably the latter). In any case, if you can't find the cache, poke around a little bit in the general area
A great walk in the still forest today. Not a sound except the distant call of the odd bird and even more distant odd truck. Some of these caches were out by 15m or so, so fan out if having trouble. Thanks to deanside and Tenkae who added to the fun. Logs signed as TAD and stamps used when the logs were soaked! Thanks GemmaSistema and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!
Spending my birthday the best way I know, caching in the bush and with great friends in the company of Tenkae and TeamAstro!!!!Thanks GemmaSistema for showcasing this area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
TFTC. Setting up camp for a week in Murray Bridge before the MEGA for 29th Feb!Moving to Ballarat for another week afterwards. Last hurrah travelling before wooding season at home starts!Happy caching and safe travels!
We,laughed when we found this one as the hint said magnetic but there was nothing magnetic about this one! Reminded us of one of our own caches in the NT. Tftc.
A quick trip to Ballarat and time for a few finds. It was nice to wander along these tracks to find a few caches. Not many bird calls to be heard today. Thanks to GemmaSistema for this cache and this trail.Good to stretch the legs for a while.
Thanks for the cache we were on the track and desired to look for some caches and this was one of them
what a crazy day. this morning at 11 o'clock we set out to go caching on a 12km walk. although we missed the last few due to the sun setting alittle earlier than we had planned we managed to get 45/50 we stopped for a picnic along the way and thankfully our legs aren't in too much pain. i'd be lying if i said my feet didn't hurt but my face hurts more from smiling. thanks to gemmasistema for the majority of this trail and a couple from some others great scenic walk and i'll be back to snag those last couple i missed.
I came to Ballarat for a brunch event, then spent the rest of my time in the bush. Apart from the first and last, it was a GemmaSistema day. Found it, but not as stated in the hint.
My thanks for the cache, GemmaSistema.

It’s a sign! Really? Just put names on the logbook when I got called away again. Hopefully it’s not a sign and I’ll get this series finished one day! Tftc
Caching the track with kenare……but…not for long……I am starting to get a complex…..ahhh well I might carry on solo and grab a few more. Signed this one….all good tftc
After a hopeless attempt of gold prospecting we at least had success finding your Geocache )
I would have loved to do the entire track, but I only had time to do 4 of your caches.
Thanks for the hide & greetings from Switzerland

Chook (from chooknchunk) and I have wanted to do this hike through the bush collecting all the caches along the way for it seems "ages" - Only took us over a year lol before both could make it. Well, we car shuttled half way to the end so we could fit more caches in. We talked, laughed and had a most enjoyable day - hoping to return earlier than later to finish the trail. thanks Gemma for these well placed caches.
Chook and Sunset62 had been talking about doing the Eureka Trail for ages. Eventually the stars aligned and today was the day. We car-shuttled to park one halfway, and set off on the trail on this glorious autumn day. All caches were found and were generally in good condition. We absolutely had a ball, lots of banter and laughs, and we can't wait to come back soon to finish the other half.
Not quite magnetic anymore but good hint and good coords made for a nice easy find. Luckily because a muggle walker appeared out of nowhere while we were looking at the Res.
Thank you GemmaSistema for the effort in placing all these caches so we could come out here and enjoy them.

Another day out this way, however first in this actual area. Easy driving around this section and it wasn't long and the cache was in hand and the log signed.
Thanks GemmaSistema for the reason to get and have a look around the area. Cache all good.

This week is my first time caching in Ballarat.
Here for the week, doing a training course for work.
Should have a few hours free each afternoon... Let's see how many caches I can seek out in the next 4 days...
Tonight I'm on the Goldfields Trail, Wallaby Track section... Started from the South...

Gosh, the bush is very beautiful in here. We are really enjoying this track. TFTC.
Find #2650 for me. Found at 1:15 pm with my dog Bonnie. This was another quick find helped by a descriptive cache title! Thanks for the series and the cache Gemma!
With the sun poking out from behind the clouds, it is a great day to be out for a walk. TFTC
This was a nice view of the water. The micro was missing an o ring so there was a bit of dampness inside. We dried out the log paper as best we could. TFTC
The last quick find of the evening, would love to do this whole track one day but it's getting dark. The dog loved his walk today. Log is a bit damp but is waterproof. TFTC!
Find # 9757
Found with Tyred n Cranky
Off for a Sunday in the bush around Creswick. With bikes on board we tackled the Goldfields Track, Sunday stroll caches and a couple of others around.
Based at the picnic grounds we made our way south first. Then done the north ones after lunch.
The bush was full of buzz today as we seen a number of motorbikes, 4x4s, other bike riders, bush walkers, gold fossickers using both pans and detectors and the campers both in the camp grounds an others in the bush.
On our way around we tackled everything from hard pack roads, gravel, clay, rough course stone roads, rock drops, deep mud and even deeper puddles, not to mention a number of trees over the track/roads we had to climb over (who goes around ) but we made it through to the end with over 50 caches found for the day.
After the ride, with all the mud and clay we went through our bikes were caked over and a little heavier. Not to forget our jackets that were splattered up the back. YEP WE HAD FUN ALRIGHT! A great days caching out in the bush.
All caches were found quite quick thanks to good hints.

Find No. 3390. Found with FUF009 at 2.05pm.
Headed down to Creswick with FUF009 and our bicycles on board to do the trails down that way.
Pulled up at the picnic area and headed off. The park was alive with Gold Prospectors, walkers, motor cycle riders, cyclists and four wheel drivers.
All caches were easy to find. Some terrain was challenging but that is what caching is all about - the challenge.
We all had a very enjoyable day, walking and cycling through the park.
