That was not a terrain 2.5 walk to this cache! A nice walk in the bush despite all the puffing to find this cute hide and earn a M cache for a September challenge. I have learnt a lesson though and changed my shoes after work before starting this hike! Now the head back down the hill! TFTC
ruzzelz I found your cache Mushroom Ridge II on 20/6/2023, 12:05 pm. This is my find 5641 and find # 5 today. A quick and easy find. Very clever camouflage. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Having completed all my weekly chores on Saturday, Sunday morning was my free time to get out and attack a few caches that I had ready to find out this way. I loaded up the Geowagon with all the necessary TOTTS and headed out.
After parking the car and having a quick look for WP1 of the local multi in this piece of bush land I trudged up hill and made my way to ground zero. By this stage I was regretting not bringing water with me but I kept on. Got to ground zero and quickly eye balled the hide, signed the log and happily turned this into a smilie.
A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available.

Visiting here was not the original plan for the day. That was kayaking, but the tides were wrong. It wasn't the backup plan either. That was an 18km hike, but the weather forecast was not at all favourable. So coming to Keperra was Plan C. I've had my eyes on this loop of ruzzelz geocaches for a while, so this works out well!
I met up with oz_bean_counter and 1MinnieMoo in the nearby Taco Bell and our little convoy trucked off down the road to an appropriate gate to begin the little walk. (Sadly, some sad insides meant OBC ducked out early, so just 1MM and I carried on). Despite the early start, it would turn out to be a warm, very still morning and plenty of contour lines to cross. But overall some 4.5km is a nice start to a weekend!
Somewhere, I assume there is a mountain bike trail map that names this track Mushroom Ridge.. that's the best guess I have. But the name matched considering it's the second traditional find this morning. And after working up the hill, it was a much flatter stroll along to this GZ.
Once again, we were at GZ before we'd properly realised we were close. 1MM suggested the hollow tree, but I had success looking in hollow tree #2. While the logbook was being signed, I did ponder if the CO had been busy with a hot glue gun to make such a creation. All replaced as found just after 09:00 and we can press on to the Mushroom Top. Thanks for this geocache, ruzzelz

18/3/2023 Find #5867
A plan was hatched for today. Today Captain Terror, oz_bean_counter and I were going to do GoGoGoAnna, a very long hike.
Until, that is, the weather suggested death would be imminent should we choose such an option. ️
When faced with “cake or death” I am not one to choose death, so put the question out there “do we REALLY want to do this one THIS weekend”?!
Finally common sense prevailed. We would not be so mad as to do such a hike in such weather. Instead, we would attack Keppera Bushland. Yes, about that common sense……
With one hiker down now, the Captain and I pressed on. Before we knew it we had arrived at GZ and were certainly starting to feel a tad warm. But a quick find of an appropriate themed container and we were ready to continue the day’s journey, although some comments may have been made about crafts with glue guns at this point.
Thanks for the cache ruzzelz.

I didn’t attend the event back in July, which meant I missed out on this walk… ultimately this might have worked in my favour, as it means I can collect a couple more caches to help with the November Challenge… I’m still nowhere near qualifying, but every little bit helps…
According to spy app on the phone I spent just over an hour going up and down here for a total elevation gain of 132m over 4.3km… 5 caches in total made this an enjoyable walk in the drizzle…

Today i decided to come this way and do a loop picking up 5 caches along the way. I parked at Hilder street to start my loop. All up it took one and half hours. There were alot of ups and ups and downs and it was slippery so i was glad had my hiking sticks. This was my fourth find and once at GZ it was not long until i spotted the hide and realized the cache name. Love it . Thank you for taking me out here. I loved the walk and the serenity out here.
Oh dear what an early start for me today. Haven't been getting up so early since I have been off work. Alarm went off at 4.30am then got ready to go to meet friends before heading off to Event with geo friends. Parked close to Bushlands Entrance and started the walk up to the Lookout, easy for some but not so easy for others who are getting older and have a new knee and also having other daily treatments. Well I made it and picked few on the way up. Great views at the top. Now to get this one and some more caches on the way down. Nice cache. TFTC
Attending planned event later so decided to pick up a few oldies and a few caches in the way back.
Travelling and caching with RoddyC grannysmith1947 Patrol14 and imbunda and others.

Out with the crew to put some more smileys in the area.
That hill is not getting any easier now moving over to the other side. This was an interesting area to get to.

An enjoyable walk up and around Keperra Bushland this morning with geo friends and after attending the nearby Event we headed off to find a few caches in the area. Certainly getting some good exercise and nice fresh air today.
Thanks ruzzelz for another good hide

Out geocaching with RoddyC, hatzofff, grannysmith1947, Snickersallan and Imbunda after attending an early morning event up this hill... Now continuing on the ridge line and more up and down to get to this cache. What a cute container! Log signed and cache returned to its hide.

Back in Brisbane for a few days after heading to Townsville for the Mega event.
Time for a bit of exercise and a few caches as I approach a big milestone.
Found after a short search.
Thanks for the cache.

Bummer to report a DNF for me on this one today. I note previous finders have had a quick find, but no such luck for me. I shall return. Thanks for the exercise anyway ruzzelz. Cheers
I am being chased by the Fat Bastards club to become a member. ,So today, I was looking for a hill and some caches to walk off the hang over and other excess from last nights dinner party.
This hill fitted the bill perfectly.
All alone on the trails here today. Just me and my huffing and puffing. Another easy find. Thanks ruzzelz . Am hoping it will be another 10 years before I have to climb that hill again.

Out and about collecting post-lockdown smilies to gain some elevation for this month's "Reach the Peak" souvenir.
Decide on this one for a nice walk up a hill. Was all alone on the track apart from the 3 friendly guys in diggers who are levelling the track and fixing the berms for better runoff, should be a nicer ride now.
Quick find once at GZ, took the TB to move along.
Find #11367 @ 09:38
Thanks ruzzelz for giving us a reason to visit.

This afternoon/evening, during COVID-19 lockdown, I decided to head just around the corner to Keperra Bushland for a run around that hills area, following a loop back to the car. There appeared to be a few others about utilising the bushland, with a few dog walkers passed during my run.
I continued my loop around this area passing quite close to this traditional cache, so I took the short walk to GZ. It was a reasonably quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. A nicely themed container in a good hiding place, and I dropped a TB here for future travels. Thanks ruzzelz for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found this lovely little toadstool imitating a mushroom and hiding a cache this afternoon. Once again all is good with this cache. TFTC from the inspectorrexteam.
A beautiful morning walking in the Keperra Bushland - an area I had not previously visited. Easy find and very cute. Surprised how little this one is found. Tftc
There was more climbing to be had after Bridging the Gap to get here but I soon made a quick find. There seem to be a lot of trails around going in different directions. There might be some exploring to do in this area. Again, an unloved hide. I guess it must be the climb up here that puts people off. Thanks for the cache
Another brilliant start to the day - hiking up hills in the dark. Because. Hills. Sunrises. Caches. Madness. Pick a reason, all good. With the delightful oz_bean_counter as company we arrived here still in good condition. And still talking (well, one of us still had breath). A cool container.
Thanks ruzzelz for entertaining me at this location.

Sixth cache of nine for the morning . This one was found just after sunrise on a lovely Brisbane winter morning. We were training with our full packs to prepare for a longer multi-day hike in the future. The hill felt steep and loose underfoot, but I was conveniently distracted by the views and the company, and the coffee was warming me up (and waking up my sparkling personality).
Some trails here appear to be closed, with a future burn planned for sometime this year. We didn't see the signs until we were past the area, and it wasn't too clear which paths in particular it pertained to. Oh well.
Nice quick find here, and a great cache container too. Very clever outer container . Cache and log are in good condition.

After a harsh journey to the other new Link/Gap cache up here, I was keen to save myself a return trip by pushing on to this one.
The fire trails made the trip pretty easy, and even though they trended up, I knew I would enjoy running down them on the way home, especially as night was falling fast.
I usually use Open Cycle Maps for trails in these sorts of spots, but they don’t appear up here at the time of writing. Only after a while did I realise Open Streets Maps do exist up here, which was handy.
At a few points up here, I passed those signs which don’t apply to weary geocachers, you know, Track Closed, Pest Mgt in progress, On-the-spot fines, etc. I don’t know how long they will apply for, but I guess visitors will need to make up their own minds about them.
The GZ produced a worthy container for the trip; it’s been a long while since I’ve seen such an idea. Good stuff!
I turned and ran down the hill by torchlight but was left wondering where exactly the trails come out. Can you get up here easily from The Gap or just Upper Kedron? Maybe some extra Parking Waypoints might entice people to come up from the ‘new’ side.
TFTC Ruzzelz: I enjoyed the views in the end.

Continuing along from the previous new cache, up hill and down dale, past some signs suggesting the track was closed when it clearly wasn't and anyway, we may well have been going bush and missed them because that's what geocachers do! Got to GZ and spent too long looking in the wrong spot for some reason before spotting the very entertaining and obvious cache container. That's the last for the day in here - now to find a route out other than the one we entered by...

The final cache find on our bushland circumnavigation and a great looking container it was too. Cache was found safe and dry. Off back down the hill now to start our recovery from the effort. TFTC ruzzelz.

Out today to continue my one a day challenge and my trad a day challenge.
My phone went off late last night with the sound of a new listing, oh there’s one not far away. It’s too late and too cold to go walking around the bush late at night, so I planned to go out early in the morning. Got up and headed to the parking area and set off on my morning walk. It was a nice little walk around to GZ and with a quick search around the area, I soon had the prize in hand. A lovely new and apt cache which put a little smile on my face. Signed the new log with a FTF and a smiley face, very happy to get this one, then I noticed a couple of other smaller signatures on a previous page and dated a week or more ago???
Thank you Ruzzelz for placing this one here, I enjoyed the walk.

You never know where you'll find a mushroom. Under the right conditions, they just seem to appear.
It was a nice fresh walk this arvo up and up and around with geodog. The lower areas have changed a bit. Thanks Ruzzelz for the cache. Signed log. All good. Cheers.

This is not an FTF log!
After we chased down K8'n'Co.'s nearby new cache, ruzzelz, totalube and I took a walk up the hill to explore the area and to check on ruzzelz's two unpublished caches up here. It was a great wander with good company, and both caches were sorted easily. ruzzelz allowed me to sign the logbooks, and of course I agreed not to claim the FTF. TFTC and company, ruzzelz.

I was here when ruzzelz hid this, so I put my name in the log book, It's a great walk along here, I'm so happy it has finally been opened up to The Gap.
Thanks
