Well that got the daily steps count up, forgot the pen and had to head back to the car, ah well its all about the journey.This was a nice wander in with a bit of shade, pats to do the walks before lunch to grab that bit of shade.Nice quick find and we headed off.

Another walk through the forest with sir_spectre finding a few more caches to assist in getting our finds over 15 for every calendar day. I needed 2 more finds, but did a few bonuses.No loop walk today, 2 cars made for an easier stroll.Thanks

Found with Mogni. Back again to get some more caches along this trail. Another day i need to get my finds above 15 ( i really only needed 4 today but i did get more than that ). I think this side/half of the trail is easier to walk than the other half or maybe i am just less tired from a excessive amount of overtime. We saw a variety of birds and a number of kangaroos, all caches looked for were found. Some were found a lot quicker thanks to the hint. I do like walking around these forests. We did have a car at the start and finish points of where we planned to walk this section this time, just trying to save some time.

Hill2Sea and I are back for some more exercise and to complete another section of the trail. We had pretty perfect weather and really enjoyed this walk today. This logbook was fairly damp - it was writable but will need replacing when you are able to do so. Thanks for the hunt today.

We want to tackle part of the Tinjella Trail during this visit and thought that we might attempt a couple to get some ideal of the style of hides and the terrain. We stopped to look for this cache and one other. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks weredunn4 for the cache and the series. We hope to be back soon.

We were doing a hike in the area and thought we'd try to find some geocaches along the way. We thought we'd be in trouble finding them given the logging, but happily every one was safe and sound. TFTC.

We are back at it again! Did half the series yesterday hopefully get quite a few more today.

Looking for a long walk on this cooler summer day and decided this series is just the ticket to get my heart pumping a bit. TFTC weredunn4

Today KTPops and I targeted this series on the Tinjella Trail. I have been wanting to do this for a long while and having the opportunity to do this with KTPops was ideal. We started on the trail at around 11.30am and managed to complete them all on foot by about 5.15pm. There were more ups and downs than I expected, especially when comparing it to the forest across Brookman Road.

We had a sensational day, barely seeing anyone during our travels. The caches were generally in good condition. All caches were signed by both of us, and returned and covered to shelter them from the sun. Thank you Weredunn4 for all the work on this series, and the ongoing maintenance.

GPS required a battery changed at this location. Found quite easily in the end, covered it up to keep the sun off.

I’ve had a short break from geocaching so this morning I planned a nice long bush walk to break the drought. The sun was shining and the temperature was cool so perfect geocaching weather.

I set off on foot at about 11am and returned back to the car 4.25 hours later. It was a thoroughly enjoyable walk along the trails despite some pretty deep mud around the 4 of Diamonds due to tree logging activity.

All caches found except one. All caches were in good condition except one or two which I have raised seperate logs.

A great geocaching trail so I’ve dropped a few random favourite points along the trail.

Today was cool and sunny, perfect for a walk in Kuitpo with the pines, mushrooms, kangaroos and black cockatoos. I’m enjoying this series, so rationing them out over a number of visits. Thanks for this great series Weredunn4.

In Port Elliott today, out for a few caches around Meadows area before he rain sets in. TFTC

Spent the day walking back and forth along the Tinjella trail looking for geocaches. Ended up walking 17 km or 23000 steps. So far found about half the caches along the track. Thanks weredunn4.

Waiting for our Scouts to make it to the lunch point whilst cycling the Kidman Trail I had the chance to make a few finds. This was the fourth of the day. TFTC A beautiful place and a lovely sunny day.

I had a day off so I grabbed the geomutt and headed off to see how many we could find in this series. I found most of them thanks to some great hints. I had a great walk and the weather was perfect for my 5 hour hike. Thanks so much for making the effort to put out such a great series of caches.

A geocaching day had been organised with locus cache starting at McLaren Vale and who knows how that would go and where we would end up.
The first 3 caches had been targeted and we met erine14 and alysse14 at McLaren Vale, then headed to Kuitpo and Meadows for a yummy lunch at the bakery before saying goodbye to the girls. Then we wound our way to Strathalbyn, Langhorne Creek, Milang and finished with the new Adventure Lab at Victor Harbor in the rain and dark after a really fun day.

We came past here as locus wanted to find the Joker as she had already found the others, so the rest of us stamped/signed the log as we walked past.

What a great trail

It was such a beautiful day for a walk in the forest...
Trigger_Fish, jafaz62 and her doggo, Chewie and I started around 9am...
I am very glad we walked in the anti-clockwise direction as I would not have wanted to do some of those hills at the end of the walk...
Chewie loved the puddles and the ponds...
There was a lot of activity in the park today...horse riders, walkers and dogs...
We saw some wildflowers though it will be a month or so until it is in full colour...
All caches we found except the last one (Ace of Spades)...
A couple took longer to find than others...the hints helped...

Ibrahim Ahmad Abd Al-Sattar Muhammad Al-Tikriti (9 September 1956 – 28 October 2010) was the chief of staff of the Iraqi armed forces under the rule of Saddam Hussein from 1999 until 2003.[1] He was taken into custody on 15 May 2003.

He was the jack of spades in the deck of most-wanted Iraqi playing cards and was reported by CENTCOM to be in custody in May 2003.

On 2 March 2009, Abdul Sattar was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the violent repression of a Shiite uprising in 1991.

He died from cancer on 28 October 2010 while being held in US and Iraqi custody.

Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Easter 2020 was supposed to see South Australia Geocaching hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Due to COVID restrictions the event is now postponed to early October 2021. Check out the event page and our website for new details. We would love to see you at this four day event. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Today Freddo, Davidwazza and brad&Janet and I headed to the area to complete the new deck of cars series. With the ground being wet we returned covered in mud but had fun at the same time. We managed to find all the caches but one with the co ords being a bit out on most of them but with the hints they weren’t too hard to find.

Today, the objective was to group assault the new *Tinjella Trail* deck of cards power trail with Brad&Janet, Freddo, and gridge98 via mountain bikes. Well, two of our group were fortunate to have e-bikes. The Tinjella Trail took us just over three hours to complete, and then we re-fuelled ourselves at Meadow Bakery. I continued to geocache around the area targeting some oldie caches, a few prior DNFs, and mountain biking the *Are you kidding me?* series. I soon became tired and the sun was setting, so called it a day. A really nice winter day to be riding around.

We ended up parking near the Tinjella Trail's Ace of Spades, and made our way around anti-clockwise. I didn't realise Brad&Janet would be joining us, since he had already found this trail and ridden this loop twice before, and so we enjoyed his background narrative at how he had manipulated the CO's Strava file to review possible hide locations prior to official publication. We got off to a slow start, and soon learned that the coordinates were a guide, and the hints were the key to locate the cache quickly. Most of the coordinates were probably pretty accurate, but the various tree cover had them bouncing around the place, and if our search was taking too long, it was easy to go back to the GPS only to be taken in all sorts of directions. It was handy having a previous finder with us who could point to us where the cache was, and interesting to see how cache creep and other Geocachers had added to their hide locations (more rocks to SPORs, etc.). I also learned about a new acronym/definition: SPOBs, or suspicious piles of bark. There was some high up/down terrain, and gridge98 and I were disadvantaged at not having a motor to help climb those hills. There was one river crossing where the rains had collected the water, but otherwise from the heavens above, it was reasonably dry. It was a nice forest to ride, and the best-enjoyed power trails are via bike, in my opinion. Unfortunately, we left with one DNF, so we are hoping the CO has a few spare decks of card to manage future replacements.

Like most of the geocaches in this series, this cache was found reasonably quickly once it had a few pairs of eyes looking for it. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks weredunn4 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

I came back to finish off the series. It was freezing in the morning.

All are in good condition. The hints were helpful.

A great walk with the CO's and wander around, backward and forward through the trees and paths over the course of a day. We managed to dodge the showers (well mostly!) Such a lovely place.

Today Rex and I had nothing on so we decided to head back to Kuitpo to finish off the playing cards series.
It was a glorious day and we had a lovely walk. Rex was a bit puffed and asked to be carried a few times and we had a nice rest at the end of our trail, lying in the sunshine.
The trail was a bit busier day compared to last week as it was such a lovely afternoon.
This side of the trail was much quicker with the caches closer together and we were done and back to the car in good time. 12.5kms walked.
Again accurate coords and hints made for quick finds.

Out with Debandy on the coldest morning in 17 years to have a crack at the latest Kypo power trail. A fantastic hike through the forest, the tree cover made the GPS a bit sketchy but the clues got us there in the end.

Headed south today to Kuitpo Forest after the new Tinjella Trail. Saw -1 on the car thermometer in the hills but it was up to a brisk 4 when I started walking just after 9:30.
Saw quite a bit of wildlife, mainly birds, but only 4 muggles and 2 dogs on the loop. Found all 52 with most being quick finds thanks to the hints, but 2 or 3 needed a bit of circle work.
An enjoyable walk but was glad to be back at the car just before 2:45.

I'd invited myself to share a day caching with clare007 and CPwanderer around the Tinjella Track in Kuitpo Forest to get the new cards series there
Rex came too, of course, and so did the cheap ebike that I had bought last night
So cheap, that while my muggle son[:X] and I had tea at my muggle daughter's[:X] place and I played with my grandkids, my son-in-law[:X] took the tube from my grandson's BMX and placed it onto my ebike's rear wheel so that I could ride the ebike[:X][^]
We were joined by Pikapene and Spence-_-Man and those two men[:X] made my hard day a whole lot easier by pushing my heavy ebike up the steepest of the hills when my dodgy knees just could not pedal fast enough to keep the power on[xx(]
They also shared Rex' lead[:X] so that I could concentrate on pedalling and steering[^] as well as stopping[^] with not quite right brakes[xx(]
Lots of laughter, lots of tales told of caching adventures and all 52 cards were found as we traversed the trail from go to whoa[^][|)][xx(][|)][xx(] A rough Google Earth mapping of the GPSr track log said about 14km[|)][xx(]... give or take 1 or 2km for the off track detours etc
Best part was: I only fell off once and a very nice, fit young man helped pick the bike and I up[^]

After leaving the others at Kuitpo, Rex and I found another 3 caches for the day's total of 55 finds as we made our way to muggle partner's mother's house for tea, tired but exhilarated![^] There was 1 DNF in Kuitpo which everyone else had found apart from me and although Pikapene helped me look[^], we had to rush to catch up to the others so it was only a short look

Wow!!! What a day!!! Completed all 52 caches with clare007, Pikapene, Spence-Man and locus cache!!! .............................. with Bindi and Rex the geo pooches in the lead!! Took us just over 7 hours ....................... in most cases we relied heavily on the hints as the tree cover wasnt helping gps accuracy and thankfully we got them all. A couple took way longer than they should have. Being a long weekend the forest was very busy!! Thanks weredunn4 for a memorable series!!

The weather was perfect for walking and in some places, we were swamped by people & dogs
The sat loc in the forest proved to increase the searching difficulty, but the clues were very helpful.
You might find it helpful to stick to the coordinates & not the clue as it's incorrect.
The group spent ages looking on the wrong side of the track [:0]
We managed to find all 52 caches and no DNFs, one fall from a bike and a few difficult hills.
A nice spot, with handy stools was sorted and we enjoyed our lunch in the sun.

After a 10 km walk around Monato yesterday the dog was hoping for a rest but he was out of luck as we went to Kuipto for a short 12 km stroll.

It was 1 degree when we got out of the car and started the walk.

About 5 hours 15 minutes lter we were done.

We had 3 dnfs, and 2 caches we left for another time because of the number number of people around.

All in all a nice walk and a great series.

Enjoyed our walk in the forest this morning, combining some orienteering (TRIM course), toadstool hunting and caching with Feetlet and Mrs FF’s parents (team Broken_Hamish).

Had a phone call from Brad&Janet earlier in the week to see if I was up for a challenge to find 52 unpublished caches in the Kuitpo Forest. Sounded like a fun challenge and it was decided that an early start Saturday morning was in order.

Well our challenge was somewhat thwarted with the 52 caches being published at 0400 Saturday morning so it now had become a FTF run to see how many we could get before the forest was besieged by FTF Hounds.

So with me and my $100 bike and Bill with his somewhat more expensive eBike arriving at 0730, we set off on our anti-clockwise journey.

Even though we were not going to do our original challenge, we had some other challenges to contend with.

One - it was bloody cold and even though there was no wind the temperature remained mostly in single figures.

Two - my chain on the $100 bike decided it was not up to the challenge and promptly broke at 3km, 4km and 5km. We repaired it two times (handy to have a doctor with the right tools), but in the end it became a 5km ride and 11km walk for me.

The outcome in the end was 52 FTF with coffee at the end at Tinjella Hut where my brother and sister were camped for the weekend (was unaware they were there when we started off).

Oh and there will be a T5 cache coming out soon somewhere in the area too

A week or so ago the CO went for a walk along the Tinjella Trail. He mentioned on social media that he had done so. And hinted that he had hidden some geocaches while on his walk.

Brad likes a challenge so last Tuesday afternoon he drove to the trail with his bike. The plan was to ride a circuit of the track and to see if he could find any geocaches. FB4P = Find BeFore Publication.

A bit challenging as the caches had not been published so he had no hints and no coordinates. Just a circuit and some educated guesswork.

And it was raining.

Brad did find some. The first he found was the 5 Hearts and then the 9 Hearts was next. After a few more it became clear there were likely to be 52 in total (or up to 54 with jokers.)

6 hours later it was dark, Brad was cold and tired, he had ridden 16km, walked 10,000 steps and he had found 28 caches. Time to go home.

Once he had recovered he looked at the patterns of the caches he had found and tried to work out where the other 24 might be.

He came up with 24 sets of possible coordinates. Brad felt two sets of eyes would be good. He contacted firesafe who has recently purchased a bike and it was agreed an attempt would be made this morning to find as many of the rest as possible meeting at 7am.

And then at 4am the caches were published!
So the attempts at FB4P turned into attempts at FTFs.

As it turns out Brad’s guessimates were pretty good.

No rain today but it was very cold. Very.

This was another “found before” cache. Althougb iT was getting cold and dark the first trip and less time had been spent searching, it was close to the end and it was found. This was refound, the log stamped and it was on to the QS.

Along the way today all 52 caches were found and stamped/signed including the 28 Brad had previously located, although for a few of those firesafe was still quicker at locating the prize.
No other names in any logbooks except the beta tester. So that is a new record for B&J of 52 *FTF*s in one day. Woohoo.

This is a brilliant trail with amazing mushrooms, wide tracks and great ambience. Loved it.
