Logs
This one took me a long time. Long enough that I resorted to reading past logs. Ahh, I also found the stove - this hint made me head up the slope from where my GPS was insisting. Awesome cache!
Continuing up the track I noticed the old metal on the side of the path before I realised I had got to the cache yet. A pretty easy find! Really cool container I can't imagine how heavy your bag would have been carrying all these unique containers up here. Signed the log and replaced where I found it. Time to climb again. TFTC
After 7 hours of hiking it was time for a drinks break and refill with that cool spring water nearby. Coming back up the hill we thought we'd try this cache but kept missing the sweet spot. Eventually we headed to the clearing and then looking around, spotted the hide. A great themed container that gets a fav from us, even if it was more popular with the formicidae. TFTC.
Loved this one. Congrats on a fabulous and most suitable cache container. Also found part of the old stove further down. Hard to believe just how big the bungalow chalet must have been in its prime. Thanks.
After spending a foggy night camping near the Federation Hut we headed down Bungalow Spur. I have been out to Mt Feathertop many times but this was the first time out this way. It wasn't as bad as I had heard so that was a pleasant surprise.
Amazing to think about what was here!
Another well themed cache that was in good condition

By the time I rolled into this one, I was quite puffed indeed, damn you Covid booster shot for taking what fitness I had left….
It’s amazing how much the bushy regrowth has come back over the last few years, I remember not so long ago when this was just open grass in between all the small snow gums, now it’s an effort pushing through it al to find the cache….
And I don’t mind saying, that took me a while, as the bushes are so thick now it made it hard to locate the cache.
But after a bit of circling around I finally spotted it and signed my life away in the log book.
I couldn’t help but notice the emergency kit in the cache that is a great idea in remote alpine caches, and we used to do the same until a certain Melbourne cacher went around and collected a lot of them, so as long as he doesn’t find this cache, it should stay here
Now that is another pretty nifty container and I am amazed you hauled all that way up here.
On the topic of regrowth, I can also remember when the spot a wee bit further up the track where the turnoff to the spring is, was totally open with just grass and you could see out into the views uninterrupted in all directions, it was a massive open camping area.

there was a woman camping just uphill of the long-gone bungalow
in the dull light of evening, she was sitting on a camping stool brewing dinner on a jet boil
she startled at my “g’day”, not expecting anyone to be passing that late
i passed her again on the way down
she said she’d been over to diamantina spur
we shared a moment lamenting its imminent development
i saw her again at picture point
i emerged, strewn with undergrowth from finding the cache there, and we chatted for a very pleasant twenty minutes or so
both enjoying the novelty of running into someone on the mountainside and the respite for the ankles and knees
breaths back, we parted
until next time

I am out for a couple of days with the outdoor education students from work. We camped at Fed Hut last night, after yesterday walking along the Razorback track. Today we are walking down the hill to back to Harrietville. I had the job of walking at the back of the group, so had time to stop and find the caches on the way. What creative caches have been placed, and with informative info too. Great to find an unloved cache of 10 months. Thanks for the time and effort to place this cache here Ronice88.
Yes! Found it.
Amazing cache container - respect for carrying it all the way up to this point.
Found while spending a long weekend doing the Feathertop with my daughter.
Thanks for the cache!

Not too far off the track, but far enough. Loving the effort put into these caches, thanks

DeamM5, Hairy Panic and I were inspired by an adventure company advertising a camp out in the snow. I said why don’t we just do something ourselves? The guys said let’s do it! The rest is history and so our plans were made to hike up to Mt Feathertop today.
I sourced all the gear required to reach the top and we decided to make our way up today.
Of course I checked the area for caches and noticed a handful of FTFs along our trail, what a bonus surprise!
We set off from Wangaratta early so we could make the most of the day, and we were on Bungalow Spur by 8am.
The morning was icy cold but the climb helped warm us up. A stop here and there for the other caches along the trail as well as the 3 new ones. Loved all the creativity that’s been put into them all as well!
We were quite shocked to see how little snow was on the ground as we made our way to the top. Almost all of the Razorback was snow free and even large parts at the summit were exposed grass and rock. Very strange for this point during winter! We didn’t even require our special equipment to reach the top.
The descent was straight forward and we were quite pleased with our efforts. The bonus caches along this journey had been a welcome addition so thank you for all your efforts in putting them out for us to find.
This was a good spot to regroup before the next push to the top. After a bite to eat we set out to find the cache. A quick find here! Impressed you lugged this one all the way up here! Third and final ftf on the spur for us today, and weren’t we excited. Now to push to the summit!
