This poor cache hasn't had a lot of visitors over the last couple of years so I set about solving the puzzle to change that. I worked out the solution a few days ago. It took a bit of trial and error to finally work out the best way for me to read the numbers. I made a date for today to find this while in the area doing an AdLab. No dramas making my way to GZ as there was an easy track to follow all the way. Once there It only took me a few minutes before I spied the container hiding in its spot.Log book signed and all was good with it.TFTC

Funnily enough, I had been in the vicinity of this geocache previously, but that was prior to solving this 1.5-difficulty puzzle. I had suspected what to do, but I had not found the time to sit down and work through it until one year ago.

Today, I was driving back home and thus with a short time window, I thought I would make the stop. I read a few past logs to get a feel on how to best approach this one, and my original plan for making a circuit had me abandon that given the highly underrating hills/valley that I would have needed to walk. Upon arriving at GZ, I looked in a few places before finding the nicely hidden cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks jachna for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

----------

This morning, a short drive into the mountains of D'Aguilar National Park via Mount Glorious had me chase a newly published multi-cache. However, I had wanted to return to this area for a few reasons anyway, and it was a nice morning to walk a few trails.

Today's caching mission was a nice big loop out through Samford collecting multi's for a challenge I am working on.

Along the way, I took the opportunity to grab some other unloved caches and solved puzzles, including this one. I solved this puzzle when it was first published - long enough ago that I have forgotten how I did it. Thankfully I jotted a few notes on the cache page which remind me now.

With so many stumps and the like on offer at GZ, I was a little surprised that I didn't find the container quickly. Checking the hint, I corrected my coordinates a little and that made all the difference. The new location changed my thinking about the type of hide and I quickly made the find.

Nice to give this interesting puzzle some love after nearly a year. Having signed the log, it was a bit of a slog back up the track to the car, but my chosen track was a lot less work than the other option.

Many thanks jachna

After an early morning walk up Keperra Bushland hill to attend an event then geocaching with friends, I have parted ways and have a few more caches that I want before making my way home. Saw these few caches on the map and being oldies as well. Luckily not so steep as the tracks this morning and a nice easy walk.

Last one for today as it is getting dark. Made my way down this other track to GZ and started searching but came up empty-handed. GPS was bouncing around and decided to check another spot and there was the cache. Lucky me!! SL then returned as found. An interesting puzzle where I may have had some help in solving.

With the general plan of avoiding the mounting pile of washing to be done at home, and the forecast was for a fine day, I elected to find a couple of caches…

Knowing that this area has a lack of reception I loaded a list into Cachly and set off ….

This puzzle was discussed by a morally corrupt bunch of cachers during a recent event nearby… at which point a solution was provided…. So I did this cache in reverse… found the container on a bush walk and then came home and solved the puzzle…

My approach (from below) saw my jumping many a washout to reach GZ where it didn’t take long to spy the container…

After this morning’s event, I had just one cache to get to clean up the area. This one had been sitting on my list for a little while now. Today’s event was the perfect opportunity for a short walk. I mentioned I was going to a couple of others and they also came along for the walk. A very easy walk and a stunning view down the power line track, glad I was not walking that track.

We made it to the cache easily and found the cache just as easy. Thanks for the puzzle and with that, we signed the log and continued back up the hill, this is a nice walking track.

I was sitting at the pub planning a caching mission in the area when I discovered this cache. I’m as colourblind as a piece of batsh$t so I sent the material home to hopefully be sorted. The message came back that no one could see anything.

I’m all sorts of Deuteranomaly and just a regular anomaly at best. Whenever I see dots separated by white space I feel my inner regions clench a little. Why make futures depend on an ink blot pattern that looks like someone has sneezed halfway through their spaghetti bolognese?

So with no answer, I put everything on the back burner. I was looking at it again with the people that see these mythical yet unfounded colours, and there was no result. The one person that believes rainbows are only made of three colours found the solution. It must suck to be able to tell how many colours are on a flag.

Before waking down to the cache we looked at the view and wondered how a cache could be so easy. We followed the trail and Mrs Woodyrothwell was cursing about the terrain but then she also couldn’t tell pink from purple. After arriving at GZ which is the gate to hell the cache was spied. tftc

Had a childfree day so an opportunity to make a 9.5km round trip walk for some caches that are less accessible with a stroller. Solced this cool puzzle when it first came out. Finally had a chance to sign the log, TFTC

I had solved this puzzle some time ago, but had not bee in the area to find it.
Today, after attending a nearby event, Richmond Lad and I headed off to find a few caches. I parked the geomobile safely off the road and we took a pleasant stroll along the track. Hmmm......at least I will fulfill my self imposed hill climbing requirement today! As we approached GZ, there was a moment of "what is that doing there?" Closer inspection and the cache was spotted. Log signed, cache returned to its spot and we headed off to fulfill my self imposed hill climbing requirement. TFTC

After attending an Event, it was decided to do some caches. Driving around, parking the car, walking to GZ, and taking some time to find them before eventually finding. Thank you to CO for placing them there. TFTC

After attending an Event nearby it was off to collect a few caches with some caching friends, Snickersallan, GrannySmith1947and DeafPhantom. A bit of a walk to get this one. Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC

On completion of the beaut Ferny Grove Event teamed up with Imbunda, grannysmith1947 and DeafPhantom to look for a few local caches.
A nice walk up the hill and around to head in to look for this cache. We were searching in all the wrong places then DeafPhantom widened her search and spotted the prize quickly, thanks CO.

I remember doing these kinds of tests in primary school and I did a lot better in the ones back then than these two.
I struggled to find a good tool to use and eventually downloaded a free one that sounded hopeful. But even then I couldn’t make anything happen, until a couple of weeks ago when I must have flukily clicked on the right spot. Shazam!
Now I had half the coords but I didn’t like the look of walking along that line to see what I could find, and in hindsight, that would have been absolutely crazy.
So I just kept clicking away here and there randomly until last night when through another massive fluke, I again hit the right spot and could just make out enough detail for the second set. Why can’t I pick Powerball numbers like this?
Today I had already walked quite a way but was keen to get this one off the map so came on over. The final was nowhere near where I had predicted so any jet skiing would have ended in tears for sure.
At GZ, I struggled as have others, but eventually sat down and finished my snacks while I thought about it. The arrow goes around and around here but eventually the ‘better’ coords came up trumps, taking me to the spot. Yes, I had not looked exactly ‘there’ on my several passes.
All good now so TFTC. I took what looked like a more direct way out, but it would be better to stay on the main path.

Solved this one about the time it was published, but today I was out in the area for the first time in ages, so pulled up and made the quick jog in to GZ. A quick find there.

As a genuinely colour-blind person, along with my Dad, my grandpa and somewhat less commonly my sister (and now her son as well) I am well versed with the content, and was soemwhat nervous about my ability to solve it, but allw as good for me too. phew. My family are all protanopolous - except Dad who is Tritanopolous. Oh, and the dog - although that is a matter somewhat up for fresh discusison apparently.

Thanks jachna for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #8611}* Cool

Out doing the Mangroves to Mountains Adventure Lab on the bike and this just happenned to be on the way to collect the bonus cache for the AL.

I took a while to locate the correct spot but once the GPS settled and i returned to the cache location the cache revealed itself.

Hot Coffee - is an enjoyable therapeutic experience.

Searched and searched muttering under my breath something about micros in the bush, but all to no avail. Oh well at least I got some exercise

Had some help with this one as I couldn't see anything. An easy find after a "what's that doing there?" moment. Thanks for the cache

This one was published while I was Zooming into my radio shift so I didn't even see it until after the FTF had gone Razz No matter anyway, because when I opened it up I knew I wouldn't be able to solve it! Although I am not colour blind, my eyesight is pretty woeful Sad

Last night I asked T-Tech to have a look and very quickly he had a program open and was tweaking things. (Mmm, reckon I'd better learn how to use that one myself!) Soon came the glad shout that he'd got the numbers [^]

This afternoon I picked my moment to take the walk to GZ between rain showers. It took a couple of minutes to make the find as there's a lot of hidey-holes, and my phone doesn't get good accuracy any more. Pleased to get out and about for a while, and to get the smiley. TFTC, jachna.

8/7/20 Find #3885
A day at home trying to adult and do housework today, and NyssaFlutterby messages me asking if I’d like to join her for an FTF run. Ughhhh so unfair! I need to adult.
So sadly I turned her down, desperate to get some specific work done and needing to also head to the dreaded Transport Department to renew my geomobile rego.
Buuuuutttt.....
The came through a stack of new notifications, and I noticed this one not terribly far away. Being a puzzle, I’m not always the quickest off the mark with solving, but I had an idea about this one. Rushing around the house trying to find a couple of things, I opted to try to solve this one without technology. When those efforts failed, I decided to check the children’s eyesight and see if any of them had issues with colour.
Unfortunately there were many guesses coming forth but nothing certain, which I guess fortunately means everyone’s colour vision is fine.
Then Omen Innuendo decides he wants to have a look at it on pc, and, using technology, we crowded round trying a couple of different adjustments.
All of a sudden I saw something. Yes! And shortly after we saw another something. Success!
However I was still in that horrid Adulting mode, so sent NyssaFlutterby a message asking her to help shake me from that mode. As no message came through quickly, I decided to continue with required tasks and headed to Transport Department. Well luck must’ve been on my side because for the first time in history, as soon as I walked in I was seen. Woahhhh. Minutes later I was walking out to the car to messages from Nyssa telling me to get my backside moving and go get my FTF.
Hmmm half hour drive? Ok why not.
So off I headed and after a while, was pulling up with no geomobiles in sight. I began my trek, feeling hopeful, but began to doubt myself as there was no page checker and I had just noticed the page said it was a micro. Hmmmm a micro here??
Well I guess I’ll just wait and see. Finally I got close to GZ and saw a structure a micro may just go on. Continuing to walk towards it, the numbers went down, but only got to about 11 metres. Then I swung around and noticed another thing that just may suit. Wandering over, again coords only got me to 13 metres away.... but I found myself a cache! Opening it up to find a nice clean logbook, revealing I had indeed got **FTF** at 11:50am, I grabbed a pic of coords I had here today, then headed back up and away, pleased I had let go of the need to adult just enough for this today.
Thanks for the cache jachna. Now I must go and be productive once more.
