Staying at Mt Gambier, we did a trip to Port MacDonnell today I decided to do the caches and the adventure lab at the cemetery, and was glad that I did, as both the old and new graves are fascinating. There is one gigantic modern headstone that eclipses everything. This cache was found quickly and easily after wandering around the tombstones.
Been here previously for a cache. Stopped by again today for a quick find.Nice spot to rest...TNLNSLThanks
Did your Lighthouse Cemetery today. 2 October 2024 2:51 pm Tyfc Blamik total caches now 6952 .
Apologies for the late log, we have just come back from a 10 day holiday to South Australia, spending every minute we could with family Today (Tues 24/9) we checked out of the accomodation in Peterborough Vic just after 8.30am so we could visit the rest of the earthcache locations there before we left the area heading for Port MacDonnell. We had arranged to meet a friend for lunch in Warrnambool and we were a bit early so decided to grab a couple of caches on the way. After a lovely lunch we set off for Port MacDonnell and checked in to our lovely accommodation right opposite the beach. We then set off to find some caches in the area, this being next. The cache was a nice easy find with good co-ords. Fascinating reading about the background of the cemetary and the rabbits! After finding this opne we headed off to start the multi. We headed out today to enjoy a variety of locations. We revisited the forest area to the east of Millicent to complete a couple of trails and then headed across country to the coast at Port Mac.It was a lovely morning with lots of sun, then the clouds rolled in later in the day with some light drizzle and a very strong wind on the coast. We headed down a variety of roads from sand to asphalt and everything inbetween. We had a terrific day out and enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to Blamik for this hide.We have been here a few times before, an interetsing cemetery.
On the way to explore Port McDonnell today. Have to admire the sunny weather I def got lucky this weekend for my mini vacay at Mount Gambier. Someone leaving as I rolled up. Scooted over to GZ for a quick find TFTC
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on. SA caching foray. Staying in Mount Gambier for a week to grab some of the local hides. Its been sixteen years since since we were last here so enjoying the re-visit. Thanks for the hideLNCU
We are travelling with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching trip using geocaching as our guide. We love touring the back roads, but this coast is stunning. Thanks for the cache. LNCU.
Found at 1:16 PM GAFF3.A very interesting cemetery and wonderful to see that the original has been recovered to some extent.Cache was missed at first from the spot that was checked as soon as we arrived - which meant we had to search in all sorts of other areas that held no cache Thanks to Blamik
After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and slowly catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 6 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the future ??
??Road tripped to Adelaide for the?????Leap Day Mega, caching all the way and trying to fulfil various challenges.????This cache-which challenge/why? ??why notWandering homewards and met up with friend from home to do a few caches and revisit this area in the daylight. Had a wander around doing the AdLab and other caches. Logs signed "5 for QLD" to save space.TFTC??
Nice and easy hide in a lovely, well-kept part of town. Lots of history can be found here. T4TC
Lighthouse is Always worth a visit and a cemetary too. Both together is a must. TEMBO! and I visited the "Lighthouse Cemetery". Nice old place and cravestones to see. Thanks to Blamik for hiding and maintaining the cache.T4TC Filser1
Decided to camp overnight at Port MacDonnell on our way to Robe for Melbourne Cup weekend. What a great spot this is tftc
Day four on a SE SA short trip with The Morris.
Time to start on our way back home today.
The trip started at Tantanoola and went down to the coast at Port MacDonnell.
Then we realised we were going to loose a half an hour, so we fled to Nelson for Astro's 21st.
The day finished with a very nice dinner at the Nelson Pub.
We were here to look at the AdLab and multi, so could not resist looking for the trad as well.
Thanks, Robmc.

Gotta love a cemetery, was doing the Adventure Lab when I realised there was also a trad… bonus! Thanks Blamik for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. Happy trails, Deanside
Pa and I were out exploring this region today and found some of the caches along the way. This was one of them.
So good to see this one has been replaced after our group of MAFFS ,or FAMSS,was not able to find it in April.

Staying down this way for a couple of nights and today, after finding a few selected multis in Mount Gambier, headed down to Port MacDonnell, hoping to clear the area of unfound physical caches. Had a rewarding day, dodging the showers, sometimes, and only missed one traditional that, without swimming, was never going to be found in the all too few hours spent in this lovely little seaside village, hope it stays that way.
Stopped to find this one on my way to the nearby AdLab, a quick find thanks to the hint.
Thanks Blamik for putting out this cache for all to find and to scramping for the maintenance.
Cache #13385 for me.
This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).
****SA’s Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Can’t wait!!****

Happy to be back here so soon after seeing the message about replacement. Always good to turn a blue face yellow. Thanks
Met up with some local cachers after arriving in the Mount Gambier area early in the afternoon. Completed an AL at the cemetery then found a few caches. Great way to learn about the local area. Thanks for the cache.
Local cacher had permission to replace cache container.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 8. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 2. After a driving day yesterday to wrap up the mega weekend, today was a trip from Mount Gambier down to the southern coast line with Sol de Lune, Smitten Granny, Fitzy_1965, MinnieK and me (albida33). F.A.M.S.S was the initial in the logs today. Our goal in this region was to visit the two old caches out this way and a few others that are nearly as old. We also managed about ten Earth caches and even went for a walk or two. We ended the day with caching and LABs around Mount Gambier before retiring for a home cooked meal at the caravan park.
This was a fail for us too here today, it is time to have a check upon this one.
Thanks.

After a visit today we think the CO needs to visit this location. Domsky didnt find it and we couldn't either.
We went all over the spot and nothing was found.

We came to visit the historic cemetery today, and all was quiet, so we were able to have a good search, but no luck for us here today.
Thanks for heading us this way.

Nice easy one. Don't have a pen with us so did not sign. TFTC. Found by Cache in the Hat
Found by Mary and David at at 11:40. We'll never finish all the AdLabs art this rate if we keep being distracted by other nearby caches. A FP for one of M's favourite places. She loves exploring cemeteries for the carved symbolism of the headstone graphics, and the social history in the epitaphs. She could have stayed here for hours. Our thanks to Blamik.
South East trip with the geo-pup. Day 8, Mt Gambier to Port Macdonnell and return.
Great history, TFTC

A group of Victorian teams and one from NSW have been working on solving the On Your Bike series and surrounding puzzles for some time. We had a couple of tries at coming over to actually find them but we were thwarted by rona and the borders. Now we are here for 4 days, the weather is beautiful, the people are committed and the caches were all there.
Found on our way home after spending the night in Mt Scott conseration park and then heading to Port Mac for the night.
After setting up camp Mr Morris wasn't going to move so Lady Morris headed out to try and find a few. Thanks for contributing to the fun.

Found with FUF009.
2 years on and we finally made it back to Millicent. It's been top of the destination list since we were here last time. Pity we missed the Mega.
Today we drove around the coast and just did the caches we came across, that we could access.
A nice day in a nice part of the country.
A quick find as attacked from both sides

Find # 10412
Found with sharkiefan.
Back in SA, caching around the area with out base being Millicent.
It was 2 years ago on the March long weekend we were last over here. (That was pre covid/lockdown days.)
We had a great time, back then, and when we got home it was only 20days later Vic went into full covid lockdown mode.
The world has changed somewhat since then, but caching still gets us out n about.
And it is kind of fitting that we are back here for a planned interstate caching trip to get us both back into an area we enjoy (not ta mention I always enjoy the SA caches n trails)
This trip we are both armed with some new gear for the new trails. And i had a few caches targeted to help achieve some challenges and stats.
Once again it was a great little break from the norm of life back home.
A quick grab out of the eyes of some muggles.

The second full day in Mt Gambier with Doctor Owl and sushilord. We picked up Bowerbird and headed out for some breakfast before what turned out to be quite a long road trip visiting Port MacDonnell, Kongorong, Tantanoola and then decided on the spur of the moment to go and find the Virtual cache in Dartmoor. A fun day with lots of caches and some pretty cool locations which Bowerbird thoroughly enjoyed. [^]
A nice little detour to this one which was quickly found right where we thought it would be.
Thanks for the cache Blamik.

Found with Team Waldron during a trip to the south-east for a few days. On Day 1 we travelled via Meningie, the Coorong and Kingston SE to Millicent and Tantanoola. On Day 2, we toured around Glencoe and completed the STCL series, Colour by Song series, and the AooA series (and found any other caches along the way). On Day 3 we cached around Tarpeena then to Mt Gambier to do the Adventure Lab caches and down to Port MacDonnell. On the final day we completed the Honan Mint Trail and found the southern half of the Awaken and Live series before time got the better of us and we headed for home. Thanks for the cache Blamik!
A trip to the South East with Featherwaite for a few days.
We had a great time and found a "few" caches along the way.
Any issues with a specific case will be in Featherwaite's log.

Quick easy find on a wet very windy day and did I say cold. The only cache found due to conditions. SL TFTC.
We DNFed last time but The Teddies and I came back again once it was replaced. Nice quick find!
Came across this cache by accident, not knowing it had been re-enabled recently .
An interesting place to visit [^], then a quick cache to find [8].

Thanks for another one Blamik.
