Thanks for the hide. Had looked before and couldn't find, but came back and found easily despite new bark being placed.Beautiful spot near barbecues amd bathrooms so good spot to spend the day with the family.
My first cache of the day while out exploring the area. A nice east find, though did find a hole on the way. Tftc #1732
Found out in the open, not sure where he was meant to be though so covered him up best we could
I'm down in Auckland for a geocaching weekend with Yvettetb. She wanted to go geocaching for her birthday and I wanted to get some big numbers to bring my December tally up. Today's plan was to do the walks in Long Bay Regional Park as well as a few others enroute. We walked 18.7Kms and got 30 or so caches. It was a good bit of exercise and quite productive cachewise too. It was nice to have some shade on the way through the nature tail. It had been pretty hot out on the track further out and there hadn't been much shade. We finished the Adlab and then did this cache. I'm sure just last week I dropped a trackable with 1037 on it. Should have help it one more week. Thanks for another smile in this area
Quick find at GZ. TFGC I took today off to celebrate my birthday and what better way to celebrate than by going geocaching. What a fantastic summers day for caching in and around Long Bay Regional Park with Lis's Crew.
This one can be found all year round no risk of being spotted except as you come out. TFTC
After not being able to do the walk I wanted I came here and spent 1/2 a day navigating about finding caches and clicking up the step counter. Thanks for all the yellow smiles!
A trip to Auckland for the weekend to keep the numbers ticking over........What with Luggage catastrophes, and road closures I wondered how it was going to all turn out. Not too bad in the long run. No worries here. TFTC
I am up in Long Bay tonight for a seminar for World Ocean Day, and although it took 2 hours to get here after work, I had just enough time to find this cache before heading over to the seminar. Luckily it was a quick find. The marine reserve was looking beautiful in the evening light!
Thanks for the cache!

I tiptoed across the long wet grass & made a nice quick find while no one was around. TFTC
Great little find! There is damage from storms with a whole tree broken in half but cache is intact and unaffected
After a wild wind walk we found this cache in good shape. We had a great time in the Torbay-Long Bay area. See action photos! Top right is a picture of An while she tries to find a quite uncommon cache under a lamp skirt. Her short fingers didn’t reach far enough so she used the light on her phone to check if the cache was there, and sure enough it was! Inadvertently she took a selfie too. Those lamp skirt caches are more common in the USA, I guess. The one picture where you see Ro looking for clues is the old windmill. Bottom pictures are beautiful spots in Torbay, discovered while caching. And why the text pic then? Well, We Love Purple!
Back to the adv lab now! Tftc

Easy fing (last for today). No pen photo instead. Thanks for all the great aches G-2.
Out and about today chasing numbers for a souvenir put out by HQ, need 100 caches for the month of April, and after today, will be close to around 80.
I have just done Sophie's ad lab here at Long Bay, and that was interesting, especially at Vaughan homestead. Now I'm here before I gradually make my way south out of the park or reserve, clearing all the caches here. No issues with this one G, it wasn't quite where it should have been according to the hint, but after signing in, I made sure it was and covered it with some camo laying around. Thanks for the cache.

Approached this one with trepidation, because the last thing we wanted after a hot walk was a long fruitless search for a cleverly camouflaged cache - when JAFAs do camouflaged micros, they do them well! Phew, it's a quick find! Hooray! Now we can go for a swim (without wetsuits!).
I think I had attempted this one some months ago but gave up quickly due to time constraints. Nice to take the time out today and grab this one. Tftc
A simple yet complex cache. So surprised it is still there. Cache is all good. TFTC
Away on writing retreat and out for an evening amble. Seemed like the right time to put some smiley faces on the map. TFTC.
Enjoying a little bit of sunshine between the grey clouds and showers.
Cache close to where we parked the car, so on way back from walk, i felt the need to nip into the bushes. TFTC

M24: complex? Not as much as I thought.
Simple? Absolutely. A nice and easy cache to find here. Just glad the weather's all fine and dandy, apart from the wind. Anyway, TFTC.

Found after completing the Ad Lab. We were heading back to the car and saw this cache was near as we were walking. So a small sidestep and one more on the find list.
Thanks.
Thanks.
TFTC. Nice and easy to find, came here in summer but was far to busy to get to. Thanks
One of my grandsons, DragonDefender, had a teacher-only day today and it was left up to me to entertain him. What better way than to take him caching.
We were also completing the Long Bay AdLab as well as picking up a few trads on the way.
Cheers for the cache, G-2.

"A simple yet complex cache, using materials from the area at the base of a tr-" Found it.
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
I'm in Auckland to house sit while my mother is overseas visting family. Today was a good day weatherwise with only the odd brief shower. Much better than was forecast!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Most of beltfamily decided to do a little geo-walk around here to blow out the cobwebs. In general the containers were on the small side for the area, which is something that saddens us. But thanks to all the COs for a great trail of caches to spend a few hours dodging the showers.
Last one to complete our loop walk until heading back to the car. Admit to using the hint as we were staring at a bit of a scratch around, and then it was in the first place I put my hand. Good, as the weather was closing in again. Nice hide, thanks.

Recent wet weather has changed our plans so we thought what the heck, we'll go geocaching instead. TFTC
Headed on up to Long Bay today after an earlier attempt ended in a blown heater hose, resulting in an overheated mode of transport....then the next 4 hours were spent sorting out a tow etc...... Today was a much more successful trip......
Parked up and took the bikes for a jaunt around the park.....
Finally back to the van, and decided to take another look for this one as we were unsuccessful in our way into the park....

Looked for this one twice at night and ones during the day.
Might need to have another look in day light.

Finally managed to catch up with TheWonderStuff for a walk around Long Bay. It was very busy in the park, with many groups taking advantage of the freedom to have a BBQ or chill out with friends.
Made this one more difficult by entering further than needed and having to bush bash to GZ. Once close enough I spotted the camo.

Not as busy here today as usual. There are normally muggles blocking this one whenever we have visited before so took the opportunity to turn this one into a smiley whilst we could. Nice easy find. A shady spot on this warm day.
Love the fact that all of these caches by G-2 are in our backyard. How lucky we are. Tftc!
Out with kiwisavage to wear in some new shoes, a wander around long bay seemed just the job to grab some of the new caches. Happened to park directly in front of this and was a nice quick find.

Thankfully this was another quick find for Mr Geckoh, who had to fly solo due to the No Doggie rules for the park so the pooches had to remain with Mrs Geckoh. TFTC

Nice quick find after an hour on the beach with the geo kids (MischiefD and SquishyD). TFTC
So busy here today. Cars everywhere. Used overflow space, which worked perfectly.

A quick trip to the beach today - our first time here for many years. As we were leaving today, we just about passed this cache so it would be silly not to look for it. Happy to make a quick find here, clever camo.
Met a few friends near here for lunch today and thought it would be rude not to finally grab this sort of tribute cache. There were a lot of people about but the hide is well concealed tho quickly found. Nice camo, Glyn. FP from me for the tribute
A quick and easy find whilst waiting for the bbq to warm up for the Long Bay Park Volunteers Xmas Party extravaganza. An athletic game of cricket left us too tired to search for any more.
Not far from where we parked, glad to get this one before the summer crowds start appearing.

As we were parking near GZ we noticed a couple of muggles unpacking their car a couple of spaces away getting ready for a day at the beach.
Their careful and methodical process was suddenly plunged into chaos as a rogue plastic bag escaped their clutches and caught the wind, darting across the carpark and down the road at speed.
The male muggle immediately gave chase wearing a floppy hat and shoes not designed for fast movement while balancing a towel over his shoulder and puffing on a cigarette.
Anyone arriving at this moment would have thought they had stumbled across an impromptu circus performance.
His circumstances made him ill equipped to maintain the speed of the bag, let alone catch it, but he was not one to give up and as we headed to GZ he continued in the other direction while his companion, who was wearing running shoes and sportswear and could have caught it in a matter of seconds, watched with a smirk.
Energised by the free performance we made quick work of locating the cache, which was very cleverly camouflaged by the way, and returned to the carpark to find the man breathlessly doubled over and being consoled by his partner. We are not sure if this was over the loss of the bag or because his cigarette had gone out but we didn't linger for the next performance so will never know.
Anyway, TFTC.
