The 3 Stooges are at it again. Out on the long weekend hunting caches. We wanted to head north for some high T caches that required a 4WD, but it didn't quite work out, so an alternative plan was hatched. The Riverland.Aimed for some High Terrain caches and caches that have been unloved for some time, years in fact, and with very few finders. Some were quite tricky to solve and took a bit of head scratching and a few other body parts.Plus, some others of interest along the way.Always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderie, and home made cake. All caches found and stamped. If some caches required maintenance, this was done. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and publishing these caches. Made for an adventurous weekendTFTC SL
The original plan was to head to the Argadells north of Port Augusta but the logistics simply didnt work out for us.So its Plan B, the Riverland So here we are, The 3 Stooges, WayneAPN (or as we call him That Numbers Guy), weredunn4 ( Mr Adventure) and myself are hitting the Riverland for some targeted high T caches, plus many many others along the way.Suffice to say, these are always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderieAll caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC
Out and about caching with Cheezel and WayneAPN while on a trip to the Riverland.Cache found and log stampedA fun retrieve
Robmc and I are staying in town to do mostly OYB, but some others too. After our second day out west, we came back a bit early and did some of the ones in Loxton. Thanks for this one, it was a bit of a discussion about whether the TOTT was going to do the job, but very soon Robmc handed me the log to sign.
Day three of a short trip to SA with ConnieandRick.Today was grabbing high terrain/difficulty On Your Bike caches closer to Loxton.Lovely blue skies all day, but very windy later in the afternoon.Back in Loxton, we grabbed a few odd caches before our Pizza. After doing some of the On Your Bike high caches, we were prepared for this one.It was the extent of our pole today though.A lovely spot by the river. Thanks, Robmc.
Well, we found the spot but no longer climb trees. Spotting the where but not retrieving the cache , I dont think is a find, so unlike some others we arent claiming this as a find!
Everything was in our favour.. no muggles, no wind, spotted the cache easily. Only that the attachment had gone up a crack it would have been a textbook retrieval... if there ever was a textbook on this sort of stuff. It took a bit of jiggling.. fortunately it was the cache that came free and not the hook. A lovely area that looks nothing like the flooded version on google maps. TFTC Freddo.
We stayed at Berri for a few days R&R and, of course, found some smileysTFTC
After spending an awesome weekend at Lameroo for the JLWE , we are taking the long way home, spending 3 nights at Loxton, today is day 3 and after finding a few more of the bike caches we then headed back to find this cache. Mr Minion is quite good at finding and retrieving this type of cache and this one was a quick one. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
Well we needed a couple of totts today. We couldnt see the camo container so got out the binoculars and finally saw it. Then we deployed Mr Squid and it wasnt long before cache was in hand , signed and replaced. Thanks Freddo the Chocolate Frog for this adventure tftc

The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave me a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Today we are heading across the border to Victoria but not before stopping in the Berri area to explore for a few hours. Some wonderful old caches here and a tricky fishing expedition in todays hot windy conditions. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache and adding to our enjoyment.
After a good meal this was the first cache we decided to target in this town! It has quite a nice D/T, but it was also extremely hot so we struggled! We said our goodbyes to echocage1 just before this cache, and then Tiz13 after we had found it. I think they were both ready to relax, as was I but DSD wasn't and said we were gonna keep caching, phew...! Oh well, after eating my ice-cream I started to actually look a bit harder, and then spotted it. Put the sunnies on and did the retrieval! TFTC - **On your Bike - Day 4** -The final day! Given our team was so devoted to this series and putting in the very long days / hours we managed to smash it out in 4 days! We were absolutely wrecked by the end of it though, and this last day became hard at times to keep the enthusiasm levels high, especially when we had a string of missing caches all along the same road, the first ones missing of the entire series! Thankfully the previous finder had replaced many of them with CO permission, and then we replaced the remainder ones with CO permission as well. We think there might be an unhappy farmer living near this road! We managed to finish not long after lunch, which gave us some time to find a few extras in town afterwards, as well as have a much needed rest and treat ourselves to a good meal! Huge thanks to SAGEO_5, but mainly to the individual persons involved with this account and setting up this epic series!
Road tripped to Adelaide for theLeap Day Mega, caching all the way and trying to fulfil various challenges. This cache-which challenge/why? D/TTeamed up with Darkside Dan, Loc1612 and Tiz13 to do the On Your Bike series. After four intense days with early starts and going hammer and tongs all day to achieve our goals we are done and done in! We staggered into town for a really late lunch/early dinner and contemplated our next moves. I had to be somewhere else for a while so the others came to do this one without me. Taking a break in my business, I came down later and had a go at finding it. Spotted it and deployed TOTT and joined the others in the logbook. Had two goes to return it but managed it eventually. TFTC
After finishing our epic on your bike trail. It was time for Pizza and 1 more cache that took our interest. So out we went for one more ...team effort..Loci612.. had the eyes and did the retrieval ...and that's a wrap says Tiz13..
68 year old blokes have trouble getting up to those ones. TFTC JenneG and Budgy Nth Nowra NSW.
Out with Andy.Gail to work some more of the bike series. Then we headed into Luxton to get South Australia's oldest cache and passed a few odds and ends along the way. They wanted to target some high DTs so we skipped past a lot of caches and just targeted a few. Like this one. For some reason I thought this was a birdbox cache (and there are a few birdboxes here) But I just could not open the thing!Took a few more minutes before Gail spotted the actual cache - me, I just kept seeing bird boxes!Log signed with individual names or as "GATS".I saw the 1956 flood marker at Swan Reach, and I was thinking how low the land is on the Adelaide side of the Murray river. That flood must have stretched for hundreds of miles away from the river!
On the road doing some On Your Bike caches. In this neck of the woods after a session with the On Your Bike series. Better have a look at this cache as we had the TOTT. Took a bit of spotting but once spotted the cache was soon in hand. All good here.TFTC Freddo#8228
We are on the way from Brisbane to Adelaide for the MEGA Leapyear 2024.Found the cache with TBU1BIKESU Tftc
Im currently on the great novo Leap Day road trip of 2024 which starts in the north east of VIC and heads to Mildura via Echuca and Swan Hill, then on into SA through the Riverland and Barossa before heading to Adelaide for [The Leap Day event](https://coord.info/GL1BKDZBZ), and then the Adelaide Hills and greater ADL area for some cache cherry-picking before heading south to Millicent via the Fleurieu Peninsula. This is probably the biggest geocaching road trip I have undertaken to date with around 200 finds planned!Just about to head on to the gratuitous "On your Bike" series ...but first a bit of fishing by the Murray. A bit muggly here but for a DT like this, that and my dignity soon faded into complete insignificance. This is our 16th find of a 4.5/4.5. TFTC and 16th 4.5/4.5, Freddo.#1766
We are on the way from Brisbane to Adelaide for the MEGA Leapyear 2024. We stop for interesting spots and combining it with finding caches. This was one of them. We have couple of Totts, so it was not a big problem.Tftc Freddo the Chocolate Frog
On our drive from Bordertown to Swan Reach today, we took a couple of detours. We had not visited Loxton before, and so came to have a look at the town and the river. Without too much time to spend here, we decided to find a cache by the river. Mr Domsky loves getting his caching tools out, and after spotting this one high up in the tree, we went back to the car, to grab the right tool and do a bit of fishing close to the Murray River. Thanks Freddo Domsky
While waiting for our car to be service we went for a walk to give our luck a try with this cache. As the last log said the cache was found on the ground, signed log and placed in a tree hollow until I could return with the car to use our pole to place it back in the tree. Cache all good now.
25/10/2023 3:24:00 PMWandering along grabbing a few caches here and there to break up the trip and this was one of the chosen ones. Thanks for placing and maintaining this game pieceFind recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
Stayed nearby last night and this morning I headed down to check this one out before heading north. Once at GZ the cache was soon spotted and it wasn't long and the log was in hand, signed and then all returned as found. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy. Stamped as PUZZLDTeam consists ofRonice88, Weirdobiker, Contesta, DeJavu, Search 4, Bounty Trackers & kbuckyThis was out last hurrah with the remaining Puzzld team to celebrate our time together. We looked and looked but no chocky frogs to be seen and decided cache must have succumbed to the floods or something else. A quick CO contact and with permission to replace, we pooled our resources and a suitable cache was put in place. Thanks Freddo for the cache and to the Puzzld crew for a memorable few days caching.
A LAST celebratory find before departing Loxton and heading back EAST after a geo-marathon mission in SA with geobuddies. Six of us played I SPY for some time before deciding the galahs and cockatoos had taken off with the prize again. After contacting the CO Freddo and enjoyed the view, we replaced the cache for the next finder...so yes it's up there again. After seeing thos incredible flood levels,, 1956 is now indelibly etched in the memory. TFTC and the FUNFUN FUN.
Prior to leaving Loxton this morning, the remaining members of puzzld decided to find this 'last' one. After an extensive search we had no joy and it was decided to contact the CO to check if it was ok to place a replacement cache. Sure thing, so we put a similar looking cache in a spot that suited the D/T rating and after signing the new log, off we went to our seperate corners of Victoria and ACT
This long weekend we have enjoyed the freedom of travelling in SA from Victoria to meet up with caching friends. After a big weekend of power trails we found one last cache together before heading our different directions. This required a team effort. The cache was signed as Puzzld!Thank you for your cache.
Stamped as PUZZLDTeam consists of Ronice88, Weirdobiker, Contesta, DeJavu, Search 4, Kbucky & myself Bounty Trackers. On a 5day (maybe more) caching expedition with On Ya Bike series as the main objective then on to the Paddle steamer series we are all staying in Nildotte for 3 nights then moving up to Loxton for another 2 nights. With events at either end. And hopefully a few caches placed before 2010 will also be on our hit list. Lots of fun & laughs had along the way and lots of car doors opened & closed. Thanks for placing and maintaining the series.
One day I will learn to check the Terrain rating before looking at and around ground level for this type of cache.

Lockdowns, lock outs etc had stopped us from getting to Millicent a few times and also On Ya Bike Series. Finally things fell into place and B@W, Crash, PPE and Tardis 0061 (later to sign as BCPT for our initials or Big Cycling Power Trail amongst other things) were on a week long road trip into SA. Various select caches and locations were targeted on the way over and back for LGA's and other stats.
Plenty of looking here and the co-ords had us at other suspicious items which we found out the hard way. Fortunately, their sting is not too bad. We then had to more DB for the retrevival as we had parked under the cache.
A quick find here and we completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Day 2 of our SA Bike trip and this was a quick find on our way through. We stayed in Loxton and sought out a number of the more interesting offerings around the place. I was initially drawn to the strange boxes on the tress but soon discovered they were bee nests.

A few personal dramas meant we didnt hit the road till 1pm but managed to grab a few smilies with Mrs Felix starting the hunt before handing over to Mr Felix after an hour. Got drowned in 2 heavy showers but otherwise the biggest problem was the strong winds. Home for happy hour
Well that's a new way to get the cache down [B)] The weight of the cache collapsed the pole then the cache hit Mr Felix on the head! **Damn Freddo**

We were on our way home after a big couple of days in Berri, Wentworth and Mildura and stopped in Loxton for lunch. When we have the right TOTT on board it was a no brainer to come and find this cache. When we arrived there was much discussion about the height. [?] Easily retrieved then replaced at the 4.5 elevation.
Thanks for the cache Freddo.

Sadly if the area was inundated as it was in 1956 this would have floated away, but not anymore. The locals had a good laugh as us as then walked and rode passed.

( it's only 55 km from our B&B one way ) for another geocaching event then a brief sleep. Then another geocaching event before Michells&hound hosted a CITO event in NSW. Of course there was time for finding of finding caches over 60 in the first day. Thanking those co for placing them and extra, extra thanks for the co for placing the gadget/field puzzle/creative caches. I left some fav points to let you know to keep up the good work. The way home was longer than getting there since we stopped and solved/stamped some multi's and off set letter box hides. Another good weekend away for us.

Staying in Renmark for a short holiday, caching around where we travel. Touring around a few towns today and picking up caches along the way. 24 were found today, this cache was one of them.
Not too hard to spot thankfully, also no bees were seen. A quick scramble up the tree and the cache was in hand. Signed and rehid as found. We reckon this one should be safe from flooding.

Due to the weekend weather forecast for high winds, I had to cancel my planned kayaking trip at the Corong.
At short notice I decided to head to Loxton instead.
The wind was blowing for most of the weekend but thankfully the mild temperatures made for a good haul of finds in and around Loxton.
Yesterday I was on a walk and I checked GZ. I struggled to spot the cache. It turned out that I spent 10 minutes looking up at the wrong tree. Once I knew where the cache was, it was clear tools were required so I put the cache on hold until I had my tools with me.
This morning I returned with my tools and retrieved the cache without problems.
A favourite point from me.

A short day for us today but we did cover a load of miles, we nearly ended up back in Victoria. We rectified a DNF from a few years ago, and added 2 DNF's so two blue faces to replace the one we managed to change into a smily face.
More heat, flies and dust and roads that we have not traveled before showing us more of this great brown land that we live in, but we did enjoy our day overall. It really hits you in the face making you realise how hard life was for our pioneers.

We were staying with Honeysucker for a couple of nights with Liz & Bruce and we ventured off today to do a few of the nearby caches but nothing that required a long walk as at 40 degree temperatures it was just too hot.
We pulled up here and were able to spot the cache fairly quickly and for a change we had the right TOTT with us so that made the job a little easier and not long after we had the cache in hand and our names were added to the log and then everything was returned as found. We were happy that the waters were way down today and nowhere near that flood level.

Adelaide and South Australia Trip Christmas 2021/2022. Day 14. The next phase of my journey is underway. I am in Loxton with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Sol de Lune and Smitten Granny to attempt to finish the On You Bike where-i-go caches. We have managed to solve them all before we arrived. Day 4 in the River land. There were two phases to today, first Sol de Lune, Smitten Granny and I went out and did the first 100 On you bike caches, as MinnieK and Fitzy_1965 did them last year. Then we all joined up and started the Multi series 'Around the world in 81caches'. Wow was that a challenge. So many trees and such small well hidden containers. We had to seek help on two, but eventually all the ones out here were done. We also did the traditionals and a puzzle in 'Bakara Conservation Park'. Remember, more water next time !
This trip to Loxton had been a year coming as I had missed out last year due to other commitments. The group had increased and the target list of caches was much higher. It had been a group effort to deal with all the jigsaw puzzles and then the Reverse Where-i-gos were sorted out with the various online tools. The trip was looking at risk as the COVID situation stretched and stretched, but at least SA kept to its plans to open the borders and we all jumped through the hoops required to get across the border. The weather was looking extreme as the journey approached and it did not disappoint. The daytime temps were from 36-42 over the days of this exercise and it made for some hard work and lots of water usage.
After we returned to town, we went shopping then went out for a few caches around the local area. Well, it was not hard to spot. I pulled out one of the tools and was soon signing the cache.
Thanks for the cache Freddo

Day 5: SA/Vic Christmas holiday trip
Last Christmas holidays, fitzy_1965 and I (along with two geo-kids, Death Killer & my_name_jeff_1) headed to SA to visit family whilst we could, and to collect as many counties and caches as possible along the way. We decided even before getting home that we needed to go back. The added incentive of more On You Bike series sealed the deal. Fast forward through 2021 (because who wants to remember that), and here we are again. This time with extra company in the form of Sol de lune, Smittengranny and albida33.
At the start of today, we collected some caches around Loxton before venturing a little further afield for the Around the World series and solved puzzles in the area. This was exhausting in the heat of the day and the dust of the roads, but we made all the finds we went looking for. At the end of the day, we made the decision to pack up a day early and head back across the border to do the Paddle Steamer…..and to air conditioned accommodation instead of continuing to camp in tents!
All caches were signed as FAMSS and were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

26,172. Found with minniek, Sol de Lune, Smittengranny and albida33 during our post Christmas / New Year trip over to South Australia and Victoria to tackle the On Your Bike and Paddle Steamer series among many other caches.
Today we started by finding some caches around Loxton, then went for the Around The World series and some more solved puzzles. All caches were a nice quick find - sometimes using the appropriate TOTT - unless otherwise stated. Signed as FAMSS. This was another long hot day.
When minniek and I were in South Australia in January this year (2021) doing the On Your Bike series of (then) 100 Wherigo caches, we were talking to the CO who mentioned that a whole lot more were soon to be published, and they were - 512 more ! So once back home we set about solving all those new ones which was at least something to do during 'stay at home' orders effecting us. Then once they were all solved we planned a trip over to grab them. Then just to add to the fun the latest 152 were published just in time for us to spend time solving them all so we could get the whole set. With our caching friends Sol de Lune, Smittengranny and albida33 this series was our main aim, but with the 'Around the World in 81 caches' series, various solved puzzles and the Paddle Steamer as standby if we got the time.
We managed some BIG days caching and finished off the On Your Bike series in three days, then attempted the mammoth 'Around the World in 81 caches' series and some lovely high/rare D/T caches - all in searing summer heat peaking at over 40 degrees ! Once they were finally completed we headed over to the Mildura region for another two blistering hot days doing the Paddle Steamer series. After camping for five nights we finally relented and got hotel rooms for the last two nights and worked the air conditioning to the bone.
All in all an amazingly fun time was had, and we have all made room in our calendars for when the next part of the On Your Bike series is published - no pressure ! Highlights included many of the fun tree climbs, the pole caches which increased our skills at the recovery and replacements of those styled caches, and the relaxed times and banter around the camp site at the end of each tiring day - including New Years Eve !
Thanks to all the COs for contributing their caches to our fun times, and I must apologise for the generic logs as we did find well over one thousand caches which now require logging !

The decision was made to joined in the South Australia tour to hit up the On Ya Bike series with fitzy_1965, Minniek, Smittengranny and Albida33 (who had driven up from his Christmas visit to Adelaide). After getting across the SA border with only a stop for one of us to be (re) tested, we headed to our camping area at Loxton and set up camp.
Day 4 on the series trail dawned and once we had finished those On Ya Bike caches in this area we set about cleaning up a few other caches. The OTD August series was the first to be hit as the lure of 31 large caches was too much to ignore. While some of the caches have obviously been replaced, it was good to see the majority are still the original container. Of course, while grabbing that series of caches, we also passed many others that we stopped for, including a few back in Loxton All caches were found without issue, apart from the 41 degree temp we encounted, and all were signed as FAMSS for fitzy_1965, Albida33, Minniek, Smittengranny and Sol de Lune.
Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches in this area and of course thanks for adding to the fun of our 7 adventure/road trip.

This morning our numbers are diminished as Minniek and Fitzy_1965 have already done #1 to #100 of the On Your Bike series, so Sol de Lune , Albida33 and I set off early to try and beat the heat. We had a really good run and all 100 caches were found by lunch time. Thanks again for this series SAGEO_5 It is great to find such a mixture of D/Ts to add to our calendar. All logs were signed SAS.
After a great trip around half the country, up the west coast to Darwin via Kunnunura, Katherine, a amazing two weeks in Darwin, out to Jabiru and Litchfield. Down the middle to Alice Springs then on to Millicent for the Geoventure2020 (in 2021).
We then hit the road to cross the WA border before it closed due to a few cases in SA.
Now we are home with a few of the major repairs finished, it is nice to have an opportunity to catch up on logging some finds that need more information as part of the logging requirements.
This one shouldn't be affected by any flood level
A huge thank you to all the COs along our travels.

Found with CPwanderer and Doctor Owl on another day out to tackle the On Your Bike series.
The weather held off for us and we had an enjoyable pub lunch in Loxton to break up the day a bit.
After lunch we stopped here to avenge a previous DNF.

Owl, CPWanderer and Gizmo's Gang met for their final onslaught on the wherigo series. Steeled against boredom, they bravely soldiered on, completing all the ones they wanted and a few extra pole and ladder ones to fill in time. This one was done after the lunch break and proved tricky, but they eventually got the hang of the Gizmo pole and got it signed and returned.
Had attempted this before but it was missing. Returned today with Doctor Owl and Gizmos Gang and after quite an effort we had the little bugger in hand!! Thanks Freddo for the adventure!!!!
Cache 7838 on 13 Jun 2021.
Road trip! At fairly short notice, TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox, ZQX and myself decided to head west from home in the ACT to South Australia this long weekend to tackle some of the On Your Bike wherigo series and other interesting caches along the way. We only have four days, so we are being fairly selective.
Today is the day we pick up a few more in the Bike wherigo series, along with a few others along the way, and then start heading East. Unless otherwise indicated, all caches found easily in accordance with the hint .
Expert fishing by TikvaNZ. Dropped a path tag!
Thanks Freddo for the cache and the fun!

Hopped on a bike with a frog today.
Mr Froghoppin and I took off to the east in search of a few caches. [^]
Having done much homework putting the pieces together in many cases and working out wheretogo,
even which side of the road to go, a smooth day was had with many fun finds. [:o)]
Here we digressed from the trail. We had been here before but our tool just wasn't up for the job that day.
With an additional tool and some supplies, we proved that many of life's problems can simply be used by applying duct tape or cable ties... (If you can't fix it with duct tape, you just aren't using enough!)
maybe some duct tape may have helped with the floods. Saw the bees at another nearby tree too.
A nice place for lunch by the river.
We were doing some of that loooonnnggg bike trail, so this was a refreshing change!
A lot of the trail caches only had a handful of stamps/sigs on the log sheets, not even a beta to be seen on the back! Refreshing on such a trail
We did feel sorry for a few of the trees again, getting damaged by climbing when there's so many great hide spots at ground level. and a couple of the T1 cache hides were quite a challenge by wheelchair
Overall we had a great day shortening the length of this trail left to return to.
Sure wouldn't want to do it by bike though.
have biked the riverland and fleurieu in my youth, but just down to the shops is exhausting these days
Made a diversion into Loxton for some relief from the power trail, and find some different caches too.
Thank you to Freddo for placing and arranging maintaining this cache
"A cache a day keeps the doctor away" - a pretty good fitness plan for 2021!
------------
- - Search at a good social distance whenever you can - or at least with nice clean friends - -
Things are slowly getting back to whatever normal might be - take it carefully!
Catching covid or gastro or anything really would mess up your streaks and challenges!
Keep away from all the nasty bugs ( except nice travel bugs of course ) Move them on!
[|)] - 2, 4, 6, 8,,, let's all go and vaccinate, one day when it's available lol !
[|)] - keep away from crowds as much as you can, they spread those nasty bugs! [:o)]
[|)] - go out and find or place some new caches in our safe country areas away from bugs!!
Life's good. Enjoy ! ! !
