Great location to walk around. Found required info off the GZ, and this took a bit of searching, but persistence paid off. Lots of Bush Turkey's around just watching us TFTM

Took way longer than it should have. We worked out the coords pretty quickly but once at gz very jumpy gps. Luckily after reading previous log, confirmed we were at the right spot. Kept hunting and finally came up with the goods. Tftc

Log was damp and quite brown and dirty when I found it, a replacement may be needed.

This was the last of the caches that I attempted in the area, as I'd finished off everything in the McMahons Point area, and it was growing quite dark. Despite the fishermen lingering around the seawall in question, there was no issue counting the required objects. The information collected from the labels was fairly straightforward but the last panel was particularly fun to count. The only issue as usual was reading the instructions correctly and remembering to subtract 2. After the coordinates were solved, it was basically completely dark already and I did a loop of the structure in question only to yield no results, only spotting a great number of ants. Don't bother searching the pool of dirty water on the structure either as there was nothing there. On a closer second inspection, I managed to spot the container, but the log itself was completely ruined so a photo log is attached below.

When we were here last week, we misinterpreted the information in the hint and did not get any joy from the checker even though it turns out we had the correct numbers from the signage.Today we returned and soon had CIH.A great place for a cache, thanks AussiePam.

Pre dawn cycle north. Did the work on this one quite sometime ago but never really wanted to cycle back up Blues Pt Rd lol. Anyway this morning I was well ahead of schedule on my return from up nth so cycled the length of Miller from Willoughby to the Blues Pt and made the find on this one. Cycle back up the hill wasnt bad at all, ha! Thanks for placing this cache AussiePam #2477

This took me longer than it should. Tricky calculations involved, indeed! Close to 45 mins, however the splendid views do make up for this Another one of a small number of todays finds, logs a bit wet at GZ. TFTC

A fairly simple multi when you got to Waypoint2. Got the OK in the checker and off to GZ. Found the cache, but it was wet and un signable. I managed to add some paper and signed. As I replaced it I noticed a second cache hidden in another place . Signed both. Will notify the CO . TFTC AussiePam. Another great view of our Harbour.

log def needs re-waterproofing as it is totally soaked through. left it out in the sun for a bit in an attempt to dry it off enough to sign it haha

Found it after circling GZ a few times, unfortunately I found log not just damp but glisteningly wet, like it was fr full on shiny with water. So heres a photo log insteadTFTC

My last day in Sydney was spent walking around the lovely bushland of Middle Head but I had time for one more cache before heading to the airport.
I had been here a month ago but got one of the numbers wrong as there was a group of young fishermen who had their rods and other gear hanging over the information boards. So back today and with the correct numbers, headed to gz. I couldn’t see it at the hinted location but then found it at my feet so signed log and put it in the tree root. Such a great view from here. This whole foreshore area (and everywhere else around here) has been an ongoing major construction zone for the new north shore part of the Sydney metro line. The underground tunnel is reportedly complete and the ground level and access have finally been restored.

In response to the general chaotic mess, noise etc some of the crabs previously peacefully sunbathing along the sea wall gave up and slipped back into the ocean. I have adjusted DE to reflect the change, and also provided a massively generous hint.

Let's hope this whole area now gets a chance to do the regeneration this whole geocache is about showcasing.

GZ is still fine.

19-Jan-23
Dear Reviewer

This geocache was created to showcase some promising environmental initiatives on Sydney Harbour's foreshore.

Then the area became an extended building site for the new metro line. The Blues Point part of this has, I understand, now finally been completed - at least underground. There are still an awful lot of heavy trucks around - but the Council has advised that the area is currently being "restored". I hope this means damage to the sea wall etc will soon be sorted, and I can re-assess any updates that are needed for GZ calculations. It would be a pity to have to archive this one.

I'll provide a progress report within the week.

Thank you
AussiePam

All the building for the new metro seems to have messed with this multi. I'm disabling it until its future becomes clearer.

After a pool party at Willoughby Leisure Centre I drove to North Sydney for a this multi which I solved back in June, but I could not visit GZ back then as I had to meet up with Brewmaker later that morning. So today was the day!
While visiting the waypoints in June I got an unexpected treat. A seal was swimming right next to the seawall. I must have spend 15 minutes watching it.

I really enjoyed this multi, the GZ had 3 more crabs then I counted, but got the green light and quickly had the cache in hand.
Container is safe and dry

Another cold winter night, another cache at about 8pm. I’d gathered the clues for this one back in summer but the number of crabs was difficult for two reasons- the night fishermen, and also I think some are missing. Had to get some help from discobob3 on the final solve. Tonight everything was quiet nearby gz as I went in for the kill. TFTC aussiePam

Probably washed away in the recent floods and storms, but this hide was indeed missing.

I've replaced it today.

Solved the puzzle but no luck finding the cache. Found what it was probably originally attached to but nothing on the end.

15-May-22
Got the green light and went to GZ all we found was some fishing wire that maybe it was attached to.

15-May-22
Got ok for coords went gz 6sets of eyes looking no luck

15-May-22
Got the green ligjt. We found some fishing wire that we think it would have been attached to. Also sent CO a message

Well this was a head scratcher. We had to walk back and forth a couple times counting and recounting. When I got a 7th rejection from the checker I had had quite enough and pulled the pin on this one in frustration. But as a stubborn cacher I'm never quite ready to give up even after I have given up so as we left in disappointment I kept my eyes peeled and my geosenses began tingling at one point. no it wasn't there so I gave up again but then no I was not ready to quite quit so had another look nearby... oh my. The look on KTBs face when I came up with the goods I believe there was some blue language essentially meaning what a lucky chap I don't believe it..
I made sure to check my coordinates at GZ to see where I had gone wrong in my calculations and it seems it was on the dang crabs we both counted them several times but always the same guess we missed something.
Not to worry in the end scored the smiley regardless and to be fair I didn't mind wandering back and forth in such a nice location.
Cheers go to Aussie Pam for placing a multi here probably one of my favourite viewpoints in Sydney still to this day. Thanks for the fun and showing us the work done along the seawall.

Still working on this one. Will have to come back when it isn’t so rainy.

Some crabs are missing witch makes it impossible

I found I'd done all the legwork for this back, I don't know when; probably between lockdowns. Grabbed a nearby parking spot (easy at night) and went for a wander by torchlight. Even at night, the view is wonderful. An extended family of ants had made the outer container their home but the inner was safe and dry. Thanks AussiePam.

I was out on a maintenance run today with Rama497. I had previously completed this multi and had the coordinates for GZ saved for my next visit. Today was that day. A familiar camouflage container was spotted and we soon had our names on the log.

Thanks for the fun on this one AussiePam. It did cause me some grief to get the right answer and the greenlight from the checker but I got there in the end. Counting today, I still got the wrong answer for the crabs!

Interesting read about the seawall and how we help nature re-adapt. Clues took me a bit but worked it out with a little bit of trial and error in the end.

After collecting the necessary data last week and going through the algebraic machinations at home and getting some confirmation of my observations last week, I returned this evening for a lovely walk on the seawall and made a quick find.

#7751 (4 of 5 today)

Second of four consecutive calendar day find days. So headed out early afternoon to grab a few.

Decided I'd head to North Sydney, where I haven't grabbed any caches for a while. Unfortunately one solved puzzle is out of action, but I did manage to avenge a previous DNF as well as collecting one multi and a puzzle.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Well, this is an example of properly reading the cache description!
I was puzzled when at the published coordinates I could not see any information boards. Had they removed them?

Only after I spotted a crab did I properly check the listing... Aah, count and follow them.

And as I finished my count I found the boards.
Got my numbers and, having read properly, put them in the checker so I'd get the hint. Bzzzzz! Here we go again!

Looked at my numbers. OK, four of the six are a lock. Finally spotted what I was missing - or so I thought.
Changed that. Bzzzzzz!

OK. So I looked at the GZ I had. Oh, well if I change the other as well... DING, DING, DING!
Got to say, I rechecked the one I guessed a few times and got my original answer each time. No idea where I went wrong there.

At GZ I found it in the first spot I checked. Unfortunately I missed it first up and looked at a number of other spots before starting again and finding it on the second check.

Completed signing duties and replaced.
Time to head back to *The Hademobile*.

A favourite for an interesting escapade - despite me messing it up.

Like many before me, I just could not get the checker to give me the green light today. I even tried ringing the CO to verify my numbers but alas, she was otherwise engaged. In the end, I needed to catch a ferry to continue my day's activities so took my numbers to check when I got home. In the meantime, this very kind CO sent me the solved coordinates but I purposely didn't look at that message as I wanted to try and figure out what I was doing wrong. In the end, I discovered I had miscalculated one variable and I failed to carefully read the cache description. Once I sorted that, the checker was happy.

This is a great little multi that I will enjoy completing when next I'm visiting Billy Blue's territory!!

Thanks AussiePam for your assistance which in the end, I didn't actually need.

Love the crabs!!!!

Took me a few laps of counting crabs...Then I realised that wasn’t the part I was miscounting! Got there in the end! Thanks for putting the GZ in a relatively muggle free spot! Great multi with a great view

Ducked out this afternoon to collect the details of this one, but couldn’t get a tick from the checker.

A message to the CO, and my mistake was kindly pointed out.

I returned after dinner with the family, and made a nice late evening find.

Find #: 2,491
Companions: None
Muggles: Many fishermen
Weather: Lovely summer afternoon
Cache condition: Good

I had a day in the office that ended earlier than expected, so I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather to catch a ferry across the harbour and search for this cache. There were fisher-people all the way around, but they didn't appear to block any of the features that needed to be counted, while the dude near WP2 didn't pay me any attention as I obtained all of the required details. Once I had co-ordinates I headed across to GZ, and spotted the container on approach (TNLNSL), after which I ambled up the hill to the station and headed home. Thanks for the cache!

I'd planned to do this walk with geodog a couple of weeks ago but didn't get here until today, a lovely Sydney spring day and just right for a harbour walk.
Seemed plenty of muggles thought the same thing, from fisherman to bridal shower parties.

Geodog and I walked down the hill and around to WP1. He was quite excited looking over the sea wall there, until a huge wave swamped him. He literally didn't know what had hit him!
We walked along the seawall where geodog found the crabs on the wall very interesting and well worth investigating.
Counting them was challenging with fishermuggles positioned to make them difficult to find.
At WP2 the information was interesting. Geodog continued reading while I leant over and checked the habitat tiles. There's not as much development as I expected but I could see some things using the tiles.

I had some trouble with the final GZ, both with the checker and with geodogs short legs getting to the cache. All good in the end, thanks to the CO for this one.
On the way back to the geomobile I chatted with a lovely couple of muggles from Austria while geodog enjoyed a good back scratch.

Today we headed over the Spit Bridge and into AussiePam territory, to have a go at the CO’s “Bucket Full of Blues” Adventure Lab and new “Seawall” MultiCache. Parked the geomobile at Kirribilli and then walked the streets of Milsons Point, Lavender Bay, Blues Point, McMahons Point, and North Sydney to complete our mission. Afterwards, on our way back home, we stopped off at a new Traditional cache at Manly Vale for our final cache find of the day. This was the 3rd of 8 finds for the day.

After visiting the first two Stages of the Adventure Lab we detoured out to Blues Point for this MultiCache. Wandered along the seawall counting the sculptures, which proved to be a difficult & frustrating exercise due to the huge number of fisher folk who were camped on the seawall, some of whom were literally setup on top of some of the sculptures – very annoying indeed. Anyway, after counting and recounting at least three times, we settled on a final number count. We then gathered the remaining information, which was much more easily done than the sculptures, but it did require very careful observation so as not to miss anything. A quick geo-check of our final GZ coordinate numbers confirmed that we had amazingly managed to get all of the required information correct on our first try, so we were off to final GZ!

Arrived at final GZ and made a nice quick find of a familiar camo type, which was well suited to the hiding spot. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Thanks AussiePam for the interesting MultiCache which, combined with the glorious harbour views, gets a Favourite point from us.

Out caching with oldmorty. This was fun. I love the little crabs. They are so cute.

Well, there was a lot of counting and recording of information to end up with some coords to enter in the checker. And, of course I fell into the trap. With a little help from a close PAF, oldmorty and I were back on track and soon had CIH.

Thanks for the multi Aussie Pam. Please accept a favourite point from me.

OCW frazeydaze. Well we can count crabs, seagulls, chiltons and numbers but when it comes to the alphabet we struggle and it took a PAF to sort us out and from then on it was plain sailing. Thoroughly enjoyed the little crabs.

TFTC Aussie Pam and have a FP.

Had trouble getting figures last week that the checker liked so in the end gave up.

Earlier I slipped and fell on the wet steps in Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden and landed on my hand and hurt my pride with two coming up and one going down wanting to know if I was alright.

Met up with teamMerlin and TARDIS 0061, and walked to this one and proceeded with the counts soon had numbers that the checker didn't like so tried again and we soon had numbers that it did like. Headed to GZ and lucky I had tM and TARDIS with me as my hand was still feeling numb after the fall

With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache Aussie Pam and getting me here counting crabs two weeks in a row, don't think I got the same amount twice in a row, now I know what a chitton is

On such a warm day it seemed only right to head down to the most beautiful harbour around. Sydney was sparkling and at WP1, it is impossible not to stop and take in the view. Onto the counting. I had no idea what to expect but when learning about seawalls at WP2, I was heartened that people are doing this work. No problem with the calcs (for once) or with the signing. Nice easy multi at the perfect location based on something good being done for our sea friends. TFTC and FP!

As we parked the Brewmobile, the wind suddenly picked up and the dust was blowing everywhere. I counted the items along the seawall, making sure I wouldn't get crabby if I was wrong! I had to draw on my old Biology skills from over 40 years ago to know what a chiton was, but soon had that in order. With correct numbers and coords, it was off to GZ , where a quick find was made. Mover the north side of the harbour for PDG’s football so stopped off to make friends with creatures of the sea walk.

I really like the habitat work and the art work here. I also have a new favourite word ! (I had no idea there was a creature with that name!)

Collected the info and after a typo on the checker we had a tick.

Have an FP AussiePam, a lovely waterside wander

A stunning afternoon led us to walk around here and collect information for the final coordinates. These sea walls are very interesting and there is another set at Sawmillers Reserve not far away and some at Bradfield Park.
