This one was ultra easy so if it can't be found it must have gone. Sorry ??.

No luck for me here. Sorry Sidewaze, if I'd thought about it I could have taken a replacement in when I returned to complete the labs

08-Aug-22
No such luck here either. The wind was absolutely HOWLING across the bridge.

22-Apr-22
After the heavy rain for the last two days, the river was grey and swirling. But still enjoyed the walk through the bush. TFTC

Day 2 on the Wilderness cycle trail. Before heading off on our bikes, our group was taken by van to check out the Hokitika Gorge. We raced ahead of the group, and quickly located this cache in the obvious spot. Unfortunately the water was rather grey and murky today after the recent heavy rain. We had returned the cache back to its hiding hole, by the time the rest of the group caught us up and we carried o this gorgeous walk. Tftc

We took the time to see lake Manière and the gorge. We has only the TMGT and PWGT caches downloaded, to ensure focus. But we were quite sure there were caches around. After looking around trees for a while, we just enjoyed our walk. Just before crossing the bridge, we noticed a couple, coming the other way looking at their gps. We asked if they were looking for a cache, and helped them finding it. Both container and logbook are in good condition. Thanks.

Found with Kiwimykl. Today is the fifth day of our visit, and todays mission is to tidy up a few areas where we didn't quite achieve what we intended to do early in the holiday. That means a revisit to Londonderry Rock and Hokitika Gorge, do the Woodstock Rimu Heritage Trail and grab a few PnGs on the way back to Greymouth. Having been to Londonderry Rock to get the photo for the earthcache there, we came back to here as the other day KM had forgotten to load these caches onto his smartphone and we could only get enough cell coverage to do two of the traditionals. Having got the information and photos for the nearby earthcache we came along the impressive raised boardwalk structure to this equally impressive bridge. The cache was a quick easy find where the geo-senses said it would be. We didn't take notice of the distance c:geo indicated it was to GZ, but on reviewing the geocaching map (satellite view) it would appear as if the coodrinates are a bit out.

Kiwimykl and I decided to spend a few days based in Greymouth between Christmas and New Years as a geocaching break from our greater family, who we are having three camping/caravanning holidays between 17 Dec 2021 and 24 Jan 2022. Over five days we cached the 'Grey' area taking in such places as the Larriken Track, Omutumotu Bush Walk, Mahinapua Tramway, Brunner Mine Site including both sides of the Grey River as far as Stillwater, Hokitika Gorge, Woodstock Rimu Heritage Trail, Rewanui Walkway, some Survivor series puzzles we missed on a previous visit as well as a few PnGs in between the various locations. Our logs were either in full or abridged to KM + ND as log space permitted.

Thanks to all to CO's who placed and maintained these caches, especially G7&M and H&H. However from the amount of pill bottles used as cache containers, we have serious concerns about your respective health and wish you all the best in that respect. As a token of our gratitude, we left a token of our appreciation behind which will become apparent in due course.

Catching up with logging caches from our trip last month. We really enjoyed this loop walk, for cache easily but had to hang around enjoying the views with several muggles, waiting for them to move on. Can't blame them really, it is spectacular! TFTC

A nice quick find thanks. My GPS was 20m out, but that's gorgy country for you. The hint was spot on.

Ms_KR and I are off on a wee jaunt to the West Coast, to climb another mountain. Today we went for a loop around Lake Kaniere. A lovely day for it.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Pleased to have found all 3 on this loop track. I had given up as g p s had me well beyond gz, but looked in the obvious place and there it was nice and dry. Quite a bridge and will be a great tourism asset to the area when the tourists come back in large numbers. TFTC

Day 16 of our South Island roadie & last day before we head home tomorrow. It's been an amazing trip & this days plans won't disappoint either. Perfect weather again, and we have a few things planned for today. First stop the Hokitika gorge, then the treetop walk (I didn't think this through, as I hate heights & this walk was a challenge for me!), a walk down an old tram line to Lake Mahinapua & an adventure lab at the Woodstock/Rimu heritage area.

This bridge is a feat of engineering! Quick find for us here & RNZ did not have to use any of his special powers What a fabulous walk & location! I the colour of the glacial water

No heroics required here, so I put my cape back into my pack. It was a quick find, and we didn’t even have to time it, it was quiet. It’s an impressive bridge all right. We crossed it then remarked on the engineering and how the support cables were bolted in. Great views again. TFTC Sidewaze.

After a week in Blenheim playing indoor bowls 2 muggles and I spent an extra week enjoying some of the sights. They allowed and assisted me find some caches in the areas we visited.
We spent a few hours enjoying the history of this area. Able to grab the caches as they read the information boards.
2 nights in Westport and now Hokitika. After finding a motel we headed out to walk the gorge. Enjoyed the walk and the beautiful water colour. Had trouble with my phone here but used logic and it was in the 1st place I looked. Thank you for the placement.

10-Jun-21
Enjoyed the walk on a stunning West Coast day

Back in hokitika for my 2nd annual queens birthday weekend caching mission....

Quick find tftc awesome new bridge and views

25-May-21
I decided to do some lazy caching with my phone while enjoying the rare West Coast sunshine. Sadly the cell cover wasn't as good as I expected. At this GZ the phone had me out in the bush very near the cliff edge. I decided to give up on the phone & follow my geo-nose. With no technology to thwart me, the find was made. Cache in good shape. 03-Apr-21
Loved the bridge, I have a massive fear of heights and I am pretty sure this would normally scare the hell out of me, but after having done the tree tops walk earlier in the day, I have a feeling that my fear of heights may have disappeared somewhat. Lets's hope so anyway. Thanks for bringing us to the beautiful spot, we were lucky enough to see at least eight jet boats go zooming under us as we were standing on the bridge! TFTC

Visiting from Nelson for a few days, primarily to do the Tree Walk.
Great scenery here at the gorge, and an awesome loop walk .
Wasnt going to go all the way around the loop, but it was only 200 metres to the next cache, so here I am. Might as well see the new bridge now, and finish the circuit

Headed out for a visit to Hokitika Gorge today, before flying back to Auckland later this afternoon. The weather had been a bit dodgy today, but thankfully no showers came through as I did the lovely loop walk here. A quick find here at this nice new suspension bridge. TFTC!

I found this cache while on a family holiday to the South Island. We had an amazing time covering more than 3000km and seeing some of the very best our country has to offer. We were very fortunate with the weather and enjoyed a wide range of experiences.

Right where I was hoping it would be. Amazing views from the bridge today.

This cache was a lot harder than it should have been. Having poor coverage on the cell and then with me failing to reload gps with caches we ran a little blind here. I raced all over the place as the rain steadily got harder and as a last resort i checked another place with the same result NOTHING. I was just giving up when i spied a familiar sign and it turned out just what we were after Smile. TFTC Smile

Found in the rain after looking in some of the wrong places Stretch0 managed to spot the right place and cache was found and log signed - thanks for the cache Smile

10-Oct-20
As my Uncle William is visiting this weekend the extended family came out here for a walk even though it was already spitting when we left the weather didnt deter us. 11 of us in total. The earlier DNF had encourage the tail end of our group and Ben made a very quick find as soon as we arrived at GZ. Now there was someone else on the scoreboard and the race was to see who could find the next one first. Thanks for placing this cache and adding to our smilies today Smile

03-Oct-20
Found on our tour of the South Island. Thought we might be FTF here but alas there was a name on the logbook. Excellent placing here. Stealth required. Luckily it was starting to rain and so all the muggles hurried off TFTC.

Big GrinFTF Big Grin with Hazedarus.
We were almost ready to leave to come and get these new caches and a couple of solved "Survivor" puzzles when there was a small flurry of new caches published, 4 of them on the West Coast so of course that delayed our departure for a while until we had sorted GZ for a couple of them.
Last time here the new track development was well under way with bits of the new bridges ready to be installed and when we read recently it had opened hazedarus mentioned it would be a good opportunity to place some new caches there.
You snooze, you lose but I don't mind a bit.
As we arrived at GZ there was a large group of other visitors walking toward us so I found a convenient place to sit while waiting for then to disappear again, then quickly grabbed the cache before anyone else came along.
Thank you Sidewaze.

Big GrinFTFBig Grin With Holymu. The storm finally blew itself out and we were in the process of getting ready for a visit to the extended Hokitika Gorge Walkway and two solved puzzle caches when the phone started ringing. New notifications of multi, trad and puzzle caches and none needing much of a detour. We looked at what was needed and with some serious teamwork it didn't take long before we were on our way. Last time we visited the track extension was still a work in progress and we couldn't wait to see the final result. No expense has been spared and the boardwalks, bridge and track is fantastic. Definitely worthy of some caches Big Grin
Before we could see the bridge we could hear a group coming towards us. It proved more than one family was crossing and we had to wait for them to pass. Holymu took the opportunity to take the weight of and happened to be able to extract the cache from its hiding place. The gorge was at its best behaviour and plenty of photos were taken. A fav. Thank you Sidewaze
