Logs
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 13588.This was a tough find as the coords were pointing out into the car park but we persisted and made the find. Thanks Angus88 for the cache.
GPS had us in the carpark also but some geosenses kicked in and was the first place we started to look. Thankful it wasnt on the machinery!
Read over previous logs but still no joy. Started to rain, so might have another go in a few days.
Today we are in Railton and will be here for Christmas. Very nice little town and thus far very peaceful. Our first stop was the Seven Sheds Brewery where we enjoyed a cleansing ale (anything to keep the husband happy). Then on to caches. I need to find 15 per day to get to my 22000 target by year end. So will need to do a bike ride tomorrow to get a few out of the way early on. We realized some of the bike ones are on a road so added them to the list for today then not so many to have to get tomorrow. We found all the caches we looked for today and enjoyed the topiary.Husband enjoyed the war related stuff here. Eventually found the cache, not at the coordinates, not hanging and not a berroca tube. TFTC
Took a bit of reading through previous logs to get the clue for this one, then it popped into view! TFTC
After reading the previous logs got a better idea where it was and soon had a smiley.
So, the coords takes me in the middle of the car park. And I thought where would Angus88 put it? Looked at a couple of places and settled for one place. Caught it in the corner of my eye by chance. It is not hanging I can confirm that statement from a previous cacher. TFTC
And we thought we'd taken Angus for his last walk!
Took a little while as GPS all over the place. Again found after my patient wife did some reading of activities.
It is no longer hanging

This one took us a while as the coordinates seemed a bit out but the detailed hint certainly helped. TFTC
Another convenient place to have a cache. HOWEVER It is not a berocca tube, and its not a hanger as in the description. Finally made it back to Railton to walk some more Tasmanian Trail cum Mountain Bike Trail cum old railway line, and this one up the main road. A good clean dry hide. Thanks for this trail of caches Angus88
An easy find on the way back from a morning in Sheffield. A good one for a quick stop with my four year old and baby. Thanks!
On a maintenance run in Railton this cache has been replaced with a fresh one and a fresh log.
Heading home so decided to go via Railton and grab a few caches and this was one of them. I know this trail exists but had not done this part of it. So decided to give it a go. It was a nice day for caching today a bit wet and not raining. TFTC. Cache and content in good condition.
EastIt was a Big enjoyable day out caching with ANNAGJW on a nice Sunny winter's day (even managed to get sunburnt). Have had this on our to-do list for some time, so with Anna trying to make it to find her 300th by the end of the month we finally organised a caching day together.! I found my 1100th cache along the way. Nice to get out and have a good day doing caching after not finding many in the last year. Couldn't pick a better day to be out with it being International Geocaching day.
Started at the Sheffield end and worked our way down to Railton. 52 finds including an adventure lab. With only 1 DNF we were happy with the day.
Thanks, Angus88 for placing all these caches for our enjoyment.
Easy find

Super fast easy find. Thanks so much for placing this cache trail Angus88
We have planned this day so many times before and finally today on Geocaching World Record day, CoxFamily7310 and I were able to head out on our Railton to Sheffield adventure together.
We found 52 caches, my highest number in one day!! Our day also included, walking a few km (got a beautiful blister to show for these ), an adventure lab, replaced a cache for another CO, some easy finds, some crazy coords, some slips, slides and falls, crawling in caves, jumping creeks, caching by torch and only a couple of DNFs.
We started at Sheffield today and worked our way back to Railton, completing the track in reverse.
Massive thanks also to CoxFamily7310 for an amazing day

Our first Railton find after doing all the caches in Sheffield.
Cache is in good condition thanks for the find.

Did a run from Deloraine, Mole creek, Sheffield, Railton and back to Deloraine. Out to get some new and caches I missed the last time here in Tasmania. TFTC
Out and about with 1 Lil Rafa caching for the GC reach the peak game TFTC TNLN log dry, this was a nice quick find after a snack.
Thanks for the cache Angus88.
RLD4963 and I were off to the northwest coast for a couple of days for some geocaching, and to attend a friend's play in Burnie on Saturday night.
After checking in to our accommodation and having a drink and a snack, as it was such a lovely day, we headed out for a bit of late afternoon geocaching.
Nice quick find at GZ.

Spent a good 15 to 20 minutes looking at all the tree forks. Unfortunately we didn't find the cache this time
Not a clip lock anymore, but thanks, for my 500th find!!! Not bad considering less than 12 months ago I had no idea what caching was lol
Detoured via Railton to grab this cache. It doesn't seem that long since we were up here caching.
This was a quick find but I pity anyone who drops the log sheet or bottom of the bison. It wouldn't be much fun retrieving it.
Thanks.

Thanks.
Cache Has now been replaced. It is now a bison tube. Hopefully this will deter the wildlife.
This cache was in an easy spot so, after two DNFs in a row, I believe it to be missing. Will be replaced within two weeks.
I really loved this topiary so had to stop here and take a photo on my way out of town.
Hi Angus88...out and about to find the remaining caches from Railton to Sheffield.
A quick find...many tftc...cheers ST.
A quick find...many tftc...cheers ST.
1st February 2021. Checked due to recent rodent issues. All is well except that some-one moved the cache. It is now back at hip height.
This cache has been replaced as the original has been chewed. Perhaps the Rats of Tobruk??? The cache is near enough to the original co-ordinates [perhaps a half metre out] and is now at approx hip height. I will watch this cache carefully for further nibbling.
Found with Cybergran V and her MuggleHubby as we raiding Railton for all the topiary themed caches we came to find.
The cache was easy enough to find but we weren't the only ones having a go at it. It would appear that some critter with very sharp teeth has been gnawing at it and has in fact eaten all the way through the container, through the plastic baggie and stopped just short of eating the log. [:o]
Quite remarkable really.
TFTC Angus88.

We had taken a photo here and driven past before I realised there was a cache here, so we backed up.
When dalerious saw the cache which had been nibbled on every edge it reminded Muggle Hubby of a poem his mother used to say:
“There’s a mouse been chewin at the pantry door
When he gets through he’ll sure be sore
Because there ain’t nothin in it.”
But there was something in this cache and we signed and returned it.
Thanks for bringing us here Angus88.
Will we be seeing you at the event in Ulverstone tomorrow?

TaurusSix were here a little time ago, but were muggled out here. Today the area was clear and the cache found
Cache container appears to have been chewed by local wild life
TFTC. Found while chasing 1000 caches before New Years. Still a few more to go!

This area of caches had been selected to be done after the Community Event held at Latrobe a couple of weeks ago but as it was pouring with rain we left them. Today we headed out with Tassie Trekkers in glorious sunshine to find them. The coords did wander a bit so we were pleased with the detailed hints. A lovely trail. Thanks for placing and sharing this area with us. TFTC
Caching in the area we found your cache along the way.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

A trip to Launceston and Devonport on Thursday and Friday with a a night in Launceston. Thursday was work and Friday was a day off, so I took advantage of the new caches in Devonport and Railton for a run on my way to my target of 500 finds for the year. After a very successful day, I came home with 58 cache finds and 2 and nature lab stages.... so 60 which was a good day considering I was home by 7pm. Thursday weather wasn’t very good, so little was down after work, but Friday was a perfect day for caching. Not to hot not raining.
Really enjoyed a walk along the Tasmanian trail. And all was good until on the back roads to Railton, where one stop I was surprised by a tiger snake, which luckily didn’t seem interest3d in me. To be honest it was about 10 metres away, but going Parallel to my walking path.... I don’t like snakes.
Anyway. Managed to finish The Tasmanian trail whole series which deserves the huge favourite point.
Last cache for the day, went to this cache previously but went past due to a council worker at the site. Tftc

This is a very familiar spot and the hint suggested where we should search. Mrs Y'stassie soon had the container in hand. All was in good condition. After signing and rehiding she checked her GPS which was reading 9m.
Thanks for this cache Angus88. We have watched the group of four grow and take shape over many years. They suffered badly some years ago when the area was very dry for sometime. Its good to see them healthy again.

Knowing that the weather would be O.K. in the afternoon I came to Railton to seek out the new caches and catch up on others in the area. Thank you Angus88 for your additional caches. I was lucky at this GZ as I parked the car within a few metres of the cache so good co-ordinates again led to a quick find.
Heading north for a few days, no real plan, by the look of the weather that will most likely determine what we do.
The weather was looking good so we decided to see how far we would get in this series. We decided to start at the end.....as you do. The start was very wet but improved the further we went along the track.
Parked close but took a little while to find, so many places to look.
