Wow what fascinating reading that is.So much, I did some googling and found the exact text this is copied from and enjoyed going down the rabbit hole for a good while later. For anyone interested, the two pictures at the bottom of the description..Bottom image is of a "Bullock wagon loaded with logs in the Eudlo district, ca 1905."Second from bottom is"Bullock teams at Eumundi hauling wagons loaded with giant Kauri pine logs, ca 1915."It all starts to make sense how the Sunshine Coast was first settled. There was a lot of eye watering timber on the range that was felled and shot down the range to a rail line purposely setup to cart it away. Hence why Landsborough has a railway station and Caloundra does not. Some of the villages that sprung up then have adapted and evolved over time to become quaint tourist hamlets (like Maleny or Eudlo) while others that were purpose built have entirely vanished (like Mill Point at Boreen Point or Campbellville near Beerwah)I've added a pic of a notched stump I came across up on the range somewhere nearish mapleton, emblazoned with an L. And a 15/16 Brand I like to imagine was by Leichhardt on his way through once upon a time. My notes for the jigsaw says it took me five hours and seventeen minutes which i clearly have mind blanked for sanity. Oh. And reading everyone's logs, I dare say the past finder has replaced it a lot lower than usual unless everyone's being sarcastic in the logs. An easy quick fish spotted immediately upon arrival. Oh, cool little park! There's even a bbq and a cute little creek. Great use of an awkward spot. Thanks Dahumbug for the fascinating timber industry deep dive this puzzle brought about and showing me somewhere cool with historical context.
Found it in a beautiful area and came with a well written story on the history of the timber getters. Thank you owner.
Ridiculously high. Needed more grunt than a fishing rod. After a MacGyver act the cache was reached.
Out and about around most of the sunny coast targeting primarily caches with DTs that I require for a challenge I am close to qualifying for! After my tree fish find in Eudlo, I made my way to this lovely and quiet little park in West Woombye. Took a few minutes of looking skyward to spot the cache, I did eventually after widening the search area. Quick retrieval, sign and back up it went. Thanks dahumbug.
First cache today. Great start to the day removed a tick from my bosom. A hazard of geocaching.Arrived at GZ and had the cache sussed out before my friend came along. Signed the log and the cache was returned to its lofty hide. Thanks bug. All good with this cache.
TFTC smile 16593 out and about on a lovely day With miss millie geo dog sign as GS1947 on small logs Signed and replaced So pleased to turn this blue face into a yellow smile

I kept referring to this one as Val Mogan, obviously cinema advertising has sunk deep inside my brain.
I enjoyed the country drive out to this one after being on the highway for the past 46hrs. I didn't even pass that many cars on the way.
Once parked up I headed for the biggest specimen first thinking "it's gotta be". To my surprise nada. So I did some circle work around all the trees until I got the omg moment and the rest is history.
Cheers Bug

There was another car at GZ when I got there. Hi Redbackspider, who I’d met earlier in the day at a nearby event. Redbackspider was on the maiden voyage of his cachefishing rod. Turned away so that there was no stress having someone watch his first fishing foray, however he did it with ease.
dahumbug I found your cache Val Downes on 30/12/2022, 2:10 pm. This is my find 4600 and find # 2 today. Found with Duppers. Found it, retrieved it,signed it, replaced it. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
We arrived at GZ and soon spotted the cache on the ground. After signing the log we extended our pole and placed it up on a branch above. It is quite a thick branch and the cache should not fall off this one. All was good with the cache. Thanks dahumbug for this one.
Came back to avenge a previous dnf with CDAH55. Found the cache easily this time it was on the ground next to a piece of concrete. Cache has been put back up into a tree at the co ordinates.
The CO will know this cache is right up my alley. I love local history, and I love trees. I didn’t love it when half way into solving the jigidi I lost all my work though . Thank goodness for geofriends! So while we were close by on date day, the geohub and I took a little drive to GZ with our TOTT and hopes of making a find. He actually spotted it pretty quick, but getting it down was going to be a challenge. Since our pole has had a break or two it is a tad shorter than average and we could only tap the bottom of the container. I wasn’t willing to give up and came up with a solution to add a bit of length. Turns out it was just enough and we were able to sign our name in the log and return it safely home again. Thanks for highlighting this spot Bug, although I’m still cursing that puzzle.
Spending the weekend on the Sunshine Coast and there is plenty of caches to keep us amused.
This puzzle was solved before venturing north so it went on the list as it was in the area.
Peppa’s you beaut new pole wasn’t up to the standard of a bug cache so chamad brought out his extension pole, which proved no match for the cache.

There’s a couple of events on the Sunshine Coast this weekend so it’s a great opportunity to stay up here and cache to our hearts content…
A solved puzzle that’s sat on the map for far to long so I suggested this be added to the day as we moved back towards Nambour for a couple more brand new caches….
It took awhile for the container to be spotted, and it was probably as a result of a discussion about the COs preferred style…
Well that’s a bit high… but I still deployed my new pole… and proceeded to swing and sway my way towards the cache like a candy raver after one too many Voddies & Red Bull… I touched the container… I even moved it… when I was on my tippy toes… but that’s all I could manage…
Enter chamad… he’s had some pole experience… and his has a nifty 23 metre extension… I thought that was just some sort of heavy duty tradies protection…
Made our collective marks and returned the cache to its lofty perch…

An early morning start and a drive north for half a day of caching with some fellow cachers. We had some target caches set for the morning and had some spelised TOTT’s for the exercises. It was as always a fun day, full of banter, jokes and laughs. I had planned to grab these yesterday but I was guilted to leaving them for some joint FTF’s.
I meet up with a couple of cachers at our first cache and we then proceeded to these other ones on my list. We stopped at this one as we were passing, it has been on my list for a while and last time I was here there were too many people around to complete. Today it was just us; we discussed where it could be and then it was Peppa who made the find. he had his new beaut pole and meat hook ready for the grab. When I saw him on his tippy toes trying to retrieve I thought I would go and grab my pole. Thanks for the help Peppa but your toy pole wont cut it today.
A tricky retieve but we got it down, signed the log and returned the cache back to its hide. Thanks for the cache and the nice hide.

D 4.0 T 1.5 Small Mystery Cache
With Snickersallan after my Community event.
I've solved this puzzle long time ago that I forgot now how I did it already but saved the final coords.
Thanks for the cache and taking us here dahumbug. Enjoyed the adventure. Favourite Point for the great cache info and helping putting up the cache back in it's sneaky hide!

On my way home from attending a Community Celebration Event, thought I'd swing by and try and turn my previous DNF into a smilie. I was joined by E_Smiley who thought it might be a good time of the day for spotting the elusive hide but it was not to be, so after 15 minutes of a fruitless search, we reached out to the CO for a hint. Low and behold, we were in luck as the CO happened to be in the area and did give us a good hint, then just as geo buddy finally caught sight of the prize, the CO appeared!
This is a good hide and needs the right angle to spot. I really enjoy a spot of tree fishing and a good puzzle so definitely a favourite point from me

Met up with grannysmith1947 for a day out caching in this picturesque district.
We were all geared up for a spot of fishing today but after nearly an hour of having no bites we decided to drop a line elsewhere. We are so disappointed with our obvious cache blindness but these things happen although strange that we quickly find a nice sneaky bamboo hide but can't locate something that is IPS.
Thanks for placing this interesting puzzle and great hide dahumbug

I phone Muff1 to see if they would like to go tree fishing . I had 5 on target today. All tree fishing caches reel in without a problem.
We found 7 caches today. The break down was 3 traditional, 2 mystery, wherigo, and a letterbox.
Around lunchtime we stop at Montville. Had have my favourite ice cream. Especially in all gluten free.
You would know it was.
Sorry for the generic log.

This is another interesting placement, we have been on the tree fishing trail and they all appear slightly different, but between three sets of eyes they are being seen, retrieved and returned to the place that we found them. This cache is in good condition. SL TFTC
Out with Mrs Slow P who had solved this one the old fashioned way. I had a better idea and managed to quasi-solve it much quicker than that with a bit of Dr Googling.
Took us both a while to spot it, then we managed to retrieve it with a standard pole rather than needing a cherry picker.
Thanks dahumbug for giving us a reason to visit.

Thursday. Out with OC and his magnificently modified magic stick (well, his extra long pole anyway) - and we tackled some tree fishing caches. This one was targeted next. Managed a nice safe grab on this one and safe retrieval - which was nice given one of the earlier ones was sent flying off the pole mid trip back to lodging location. Luckily we’d both had solved co-ords for this one, as I was only along for the ride today, heading in the same direction as the steering wheel. Another really lovely spot here! I would never have found this spot without the CO placing a cache here.
This was the 4th of 6 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***dahumbug*** for showing us this place

After grabbing the March cache with GT2 we saw that this one wasn't that far away so headed here next. Once at GZ the cache was soon spotted and once again I stepped in with my TOTT and this time things went well and the cache was soon in hand.
GT2 had checked before we left the other cache and noted that only the first finder was on the online log so seeing Wesso Family's name in the log gave us a checkle. So I gave him a call and he'd only just left there so we arranged to catch up at the one we'd previously been to and help him out.[^]
After signing the log all was returned as found.

2:07:00 PM. Konie and I arrived at this cache. After fixing the malfunction on his fishing pole Konie was keen to test it again. I stood to the side giving unhelpful comments but eventually the cache was down. Log signed.
We were surprised to see Wesso's name in the log as we had checked before we arrived and it had only 1 finder. Then Konie checked his phone to find a missed call from Wesso. We decided to meet up and give him a hand a cache we had just left. Thanks for the cache dahumbug

Mrs Geo had solved this puzzle just after it came out and today we were out and about on a nice sunny day after the recent couple of days of rain to grab a few caches.
MrsGeo and I parked close to GZ. I made my way over to GZ and after a bit of a look eventually spotted the cache.
I extended my fishing pole and manoeuvred it into position for a nice quick retrieval.
Once the log was signed the cache was eventually replaced as found, after a quiet a few attempts...lol

FTF. Geowife started the puzzle late last night just as I was off to bed and kept going to 2.00am to complete it. We both enjoyed the old photos and reading all about the history in the description. Arrived at GZ to find a nice little picnic area, geowife spotted the cache and with her guidance I soon had the container in hand. Signed log and returned exactly as found, although a bit of a stretch with our pole. TFTC dahumbug
