**21,066**Having made a last-minute decision to trek up to Auckland to collect a recent purchase we managed to get this far before we needed a couple of hours of sleep before we hit the track again. Managed to park up for a sleep nearby to this cache so the first thing that we did once we woke was to locate this cache before we headed off to find more caches before we needed to head home. Nice quick find here. TFTC
#848 Hunting for Red October in April. Despite being the wrong month, it feels appropriate to find it on the red poppy day. Last find for the day; it's getting pretty dark now.
First day caching in New Zealand. Parkrun first , straight of the plane last night. Quick and easy finds so far.TFTC Wilbert67
We are travelling to NZ from Australia with Wilbert for a short holiday.Found cache on the ground, I put it back knee high.TFTC
This was more like "The Hunt While Red Faced In December" as we couldn't find the cache at first and it seemed like it should be a reasonably easy one with a good hint and only one real possibility as to where it could be. But alas it proved elusive and our red faces began to manifest themselves.Fortunately our embarrassment was short lived and turned to vindication and jubilation when we decided to check the ground in the general area of GZ and spotted something in the long grass with a G2 vibe to it. Closer inspection revealed it to be the cache, in true G2 style. It was nice to realise that it had not been our observation skills at fault, just the cache trying to escape. We could see where the cache was supposed to be and returned it to its home after giving it a stern talking to about living up to its responsibilities, so we hope it listened and stays put this time. Now to check out that red building in search of some sustenance.TFTC
Just arrived in New Zealand from the United States, and came out to lunch here with my relatives. We all found it together! The pill bottle was missing, but one of our crew had an empty one, so we replaced it TFTF
#13,715. I have a full day available to geocache in Auckland. Yay. Decided to wrap up the Crayola geoart series and pick up the southernmost Auckland cache as my two priorities today. Any other cache in the general area close to where I was driving would be checked out as well. I had a fun day exploring an area I have not been to much before (Waiuku). Ended up with about 40 finds. Thanks to all the CO's who put out caches for me to find in this area. This one was on a side road by a cafe. Nice quick find here. Thanks G_2.
Heading back home after doing some caching in Waiuku this afternoon. Decided to come and find one more. Parked up, strolled over to GZ and made a nice quick find. Might try out the cafe sometime. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Just curious how you know people haven't been logging a DNF. Perhaps noone has been out to it?
Nearly a year since last found, thanks to people not logging DNFs I was not aware that the cache Matt have gone missing. Thanks Mike for replacing.
I'll answer that! Looking at the previous logs is one way of knowing. Roughly a find every month, then nothing. In my experience grumpmama, many cachers I know can't be bothered logging their DNF's. I have been with them and I have logged a DNF but I see later they have not. Unfortunately, this is a bit sad, on my caches I see it a fair bit, especially when my cache needs attention, and yet no one bothers to tell me, they rather let the cache fall apart than do a write note, it really is not good I reckon.
( ͠❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛) Today was a dot day in my pursuit of gaining a mystery cache for every day of the year! Naturally, the challenge is not over just one year but all of your caching history. I have about 58 more to go.
( ͠❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛) So I decided to come out and claim a mystery at Drury and some other caches for today and this months HQ challenge, I had a lot of fun. The weather was dodgy as soon as I rode down from Papakura on my e-bike, oh well, if I get saturated at least I'll have a few caches to claim.
( ͠❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛) Got to GZ, and it took a few seconds to realise the cache had gone, so I had to improvise on the C.O's behalf, I spotted a round barky thing on the ground that I could hollow out and make it look like a cache, the easy part was giving it some water proof paper which is always on hand and the scissors too all inside my saddle bags on the bike. Signed in and deposited the cache as per the hint. All good to carry on with G. I remember that movie btw.... The Hunt For Red October.

Nice quick find on my way down to Hamilton Gardens to pick up my 2 junior cachers from Hamilton Gardens
Took the young one to Paerata to the playground and needed a cache for a dot day. All quiet on the queens Memorial Day and all intact.
We are heading south for a couple of days, and decided to find a few caches around Drury on our way. Parked nearby and quickly had the cache in hand. Thanks.
7903 Heading to my daughter's place in Waiuku and had to pass this so why not stop. Thankfully the hunt was not too long and I was on my way again. Thank you for the placement.
Out today climbing a mountain with Fencarrows and SethRaven . . . . . we had a gathering plan to achieve this. AFter this we took a quick drive around the area to see all the new land developments nearby. TFTC
Out with Fencarrows and 2FLYTim climbing a mountain this morning . . . . . . stopped here for just one more! TFTC
Out climbing a mountain with SethRaven and 2FLYTIM. We had already reached the summit but couldn’t resist just one more. TFTC
With the rain subsiding, I thought I'd take this opportunity to play hooky from work!
Was in the area for Uncle Sam's series. Thought I'd grab this one too. Tftc

Nice easy find! Funny we missed this one when we went to last Sunday’s market at the red shed! TFTC!
#19607. After a tiring day looking for all 64 Crayola's we had just enough energy to look for this one (we had to look for this one as it was just across the road from where we were staying). Good to include a G-2 cache on our trip to AKL. TFTC.
Today we had set aside for doing the Crayola 64 series, and this cache was near where we are staying so after completing the series, had to swing by and make the find. All quiet at this time, so able to park nearby and make a quick find.
Now time to head for base and a reviving cup of coffee. TFTC.

The elder Future Finder and I were out and about for a cache maintenance run this evening. With that out of the way we decided to grab a couple of finds before heading for home. This was our last find of the evening. With no one about we were able to park up nice and close to GZ and execute a super quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!
A few people arriving in the other carpark so had to park the car to block the area. quick find.

On a girls roadtrip to Waiuku with Supernannny, Nette1234 and Merlot58 we detoured to find this cache which was sort of on the way. Parked very close to gz and found the cache in the first place we looked. TFTC
Heading to Waiuku with Supernanny, Nette1234 and Jag50 for a girls' day out caching. This was on route so a quick stop on the way
Not too sure what we were looking for, quickly found the well camoed container
On a Christmas present buying trip to Pukekohe and stopped for some caches on the way home. Have driven past many times & never realised this cafe was here. Nice & quiet as the cafe is shut. TFTC
We got this some time ago but forgot to log. This is a very busy place out here in the outskirts of Drury
busy location today
think a lady in her car nearby wondered what we were up to.
didn't wait around to talk.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... It’s been a long time since we’ve done some strenuous walking... and today made it blatantly clear - We are unfit.
The establishment carpark was full to capacity, so we had to use some creativity to turn this little hide into a park and grab. A quick find (We don’t often say that with this CO’s caches)... Thanks G-2 and TFTC.

Out for lunch today on the way back from Takanini. Easy find but watch out for the household of wood slaters that have taken up residence at GZ. None inside the container so all is well.
What a surpise!
Heading home from a fun day caching out at Awhitu and Waiuku with some Waikato mates ...then on the way home I see there is a newish G-2 Cache here!
Easy find.
Sadly the cafe is closed....

I was on another island when this cache was published, so no chance to find it first. It was very busy today since they have some sort of a market on Sunday in the nearby business. It was also very busy right where the cache was hidden with many bugs crawling all over the cache. TFTC.
Today was the day Team G0LD (Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) finally got to collect the crayola puzzles which I'd solved back in July/August 2019. As Pete said we'd planned this trip ages ago but covid-19 got in the way.
I left my sons in Whangarei at 5am and got back home to Paihia at 11pm. It was a long day but I really enjoyed it. We found all the crayola series, a few trads near them, a few other solved puzzles. In the middle of the series we headed up to Awhitu Regional park to get a cache that required low tide. Along the way we even managed two FTF's giving us a total of just over 100 for the day.
We were out in Awhitu when this was published and Pete was keen. With the time getting later we decided to finish the crayolas first before heading over here. We'd had a bit of a hunt but not zeroed in on gz yet and up pulled HeMaLuDy. His "drat" arm wave told us straight away he was a geocacher. He jumped out and I said, "you're not too late!". He quickly headed to the correct hiding spot for a joint {FTF}. Great to end our day this way. Nice to say hi after the signing was done. Now for the long trek home, FTFC

Off on a mission today with Team G0LD ( Geocachers 0B8, Lis & Daffy ) to finally do the Crayola 64 series. The puzzles had been solved ages ago, but due to two Covid forced delays, it was only now we could coordinate schedules and head south from Whangarei to make the finds.
We managed over 100 caches today, including all 64 Crayola puzzles, some extra puzzles, a few trads and a "slight" detour up to Awhitu Park to do the walk around there as well. A neat bonus was a couple of FTF's as well for the day. Finally made it back to Whangarei 17 hours later after over 500kms travel. Thx Greg for the driving, Lis for doing a lot of the hard yards in and out of the vehicle and yours truly for not getting us lost in an area of the country I certainly had never been before.
After finishing the Crayola series, we decided to make a slight detour on the way home via Drury to see if we could score another FTF on a cache that had been published a couple of hours before while we were in Awhitu. Without holding out much hope really knowing how quick Aucklanders pounce on new caches, we pulled up at GZ and got out to search. Literally 15 seconds later another car pulled up and from the driver's expression, we could tell immediately that they were a cacher. After introductions, we set to looking in earnest and our new friend quickly came up with the goods, so a joint FTF here for Team G0LD and Hemaludy. TFTC

Mr HeMaLuDy was in the supermarket with Purply and Darthcacher1 when this was published. He put it on the watchlist then carried on with the shopping. They got home, put away the groceries, and then cooked dinner. Half way through eating dinner he remembered about the cache. It still wasn't logged. After dinner he headed out with the slim hope of getting a FTF. He arrived at the location and there was another car parked there with people beside it. Bugger, to late. He got out and was told that he wasn't to late as the cache hadn't been found yet. One of the cachers said that it appeared to be a little distance from where the search was happening. Mr HeMaLuDy headed to a different location and with the hint in mind he spotted a possible hidding spot. Sure enough the container was found. Upon opening, a blank log sheet was revealed. YAY a joint FTF. A little surprising as it was over three hours since publication. Nice to meet some fellow cachers for the first time and good to share a FTF with you. TFTC.
Out with Team Gold today collecting a few caches around the South Auckland area.
0B80B8 spotted this new cache that had been publish and it was only km from where we were. We completed the Crayola series and notice it still hadn't been found, so decided to have a go and head over to GZ. Pull up and had just got out of the car when HeMaLuDy pull up behind us. Soon had the cache located and nice to get a joint FTF with HeMaLuDy, Liz Crew and 0B80B8. TFTC
