Visiting from Ohio, USA with BKD1389. Passing through on our way from Melbourne to Canberra. TFTC!!!
Found by Mary and David at 14:30. We don't eat here, but we do enjoy their coffee when we're on the road. We also get a free one from time to time. Our thanks to DARKSIDEDAN.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying a week or so in Yass, today we headed out mid morning. Fantastic weather today. We loved seeing Burrinjuck Dam, we even had a picnic lunch there. To get there we had to move through a herd of cows being moved along the road. A tribe of goats jumped across in front of us, then a lyrebird crossed the road in front of us too. There were quite a few caches we did not attempt today, if it was a challenge that we don't qualify for we did not stop to sign the log, and there were a few high terrain caches that we were unable to attempt. All in all a successful day out, with only 2 DNF We did replace 2 broken containers along the way.TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
We decided to stay another day in Yass and start on some of the trails in the outer lying roads. I am still kicking myself for not bring the ladder, again on today's run three caches not able to be attempted. After topping off the car with fuel for our start heading to Grafton, parked nearby and walked into the GZ, took a little while, which it shouldn't have and looking at the gz on the GPS an spotted.Total Caches Found 15926TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
On our way on a very long drive to Sydney to the Polish Consulate as the kids passports need renewing.A quick stop for some refreshments and on the way out we stopped here to make a quick find. Off we go again.....Thank you for the cache here DARKSIDEDAN

In the area with woolwood9 today. Wasn't really expecting much rain as the area looked really dry - sure the farmers were pleased to get it.However for us it caused a lot of frustration with rain off and on for the next 4 days.*We managed to get the container found here!* SL *tm/ww NZ**Thanks for putting this cache out for us to visit*
Day 7 of my Canberra Mega Adventure. An early start for the day as we had planned to meet up with several other WA teams. LOg signed as WA. TFTC
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. We have commenced our raid on Yass. All logs have been signed as WA to save space, abbreviation for our team of cachers from Western Australia, who are cleaning up the series together. Cheers DARKSIDEDAN! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

Heaps of challenge caches, hikes for geocaches for all levels of skills and fitness.
More big days of caching as WAC consisting of Lachlan1.77, Leg5, neva2old, Barnzy12 and me. So many caches, so little time. Too many tree climbs for my liking but Im a chicken from way back. Thanks to other cachers for helping supply some of the required tools for the higher terrain caches. Thanks to you for hiding and maintaining so many caches for us to find.
In Canberra for the GeoBash Mega, our WA group had planned to tackle this area north. Out and about for a full day of fun.Logs signed as WA. Apologies for generic logs today. Cache found with no issues. Cheers!
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 3 and we had an absolute blast, after an earlier night last night we got up early to head to Yass and the surrounding areas to cleanup a bunch of caches inparticular whereigos and our personal favourite the challenge caches. We stopped in Yass and completed some high quality caches before venturing back to the trails. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Many thanks DARKSIDEDAN for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures.
For day number five attending the Canberra mega, I headed off with the WA5 (I C Nothing, meme28, geotrakka, burns345 & myself) as well as some other West Aussies (Barnzy12, Lachlan1.77 & neva2old) for a full day off caching in NSW around Yass and the surrounds.Along with the many caches we found we also signed off on a heap of challenges that I will see if I qualify for in the future. The day finished off by heading along to event HQ to join in the evening festivities.Logs today were signed WA.Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for placing McKroc - Yass for me and others to find.I added my name to the log on 31/3/2024.This is find number 8732 for me.

Moving on from Goulburn to Albury. A quick stop for a coffee.THIS MARKS CACHE NUMBER 6000 FOR ME. Whoo hoo.
A wider search than I initially thought I needed, thought this was a bust when arriving as there was an RBT in sight line of GZ but after a quick maccas playa area session to get the kids a little less are we there yet we hoped back in the car and no RBT so made the find. Heading from Sydney to Albury to catch up with Family over the silly season. TFTC

Time for Mr. Lazy aka JTreeTrack2 to catch up on some logs. Sorry to the cache owners for the lag. Strong magnets but the the records strips while dry weren’t much use as they had just been squashed in over and over.

Always love the feeling of making a stop, pulling up the app and finding caches are nearby. Spotted the cache when approaching but was stun locked when finding all the log papers just stuffed in there.
I tried to find the most recent log but ended just signing one of the papers and calling it a day.

feather top was lucky to find this one Darksidedan as she couldn’t find the previous cache, because the magpies were very active in the area, swooping severely.

With four caching events on Sunday, I couldn’t not come. I decided on making a weekend of it. Many caches were found. Lots of fun was had. I also finally, found caches in Goulburn which has only taken 6.5 years..! Many cache types, hides, AL’s and D/T combos were found at various points during the weekend. A few battles scars received from the CITO’s and at least one of the tree climbs done over the weekend. A great weekend away and hope to visit again soon. TB on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and events attended for bringing me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTC’s and TFTE’s
Day #1 (23/7):
It was time to head over to Canberra, so I didn’t need to rush tomorrow. I spent the trip over, helping DSD in placing some caches as well as finding the new AL’s in Yass. Then it was time to head over to Queanbeyan to check into the motel. Not much else happened today and I enjoyed the rest before the massive day tomorrow.
Day #2 (24/7):
Event day! Well an early start was in order as the first event was at 9am in Yass. After the hour drive, I filled up the car and found a cache before heading to the CITO location. Lots of rubbish was found and a few other caches were found. Then we headed off to a nasty tree climb about halfway to Goulburn. I did the climb and it was eventually found, signed and replaced. Off to the next CITO but first another quick find and some Macca’s before it started. My first ever finds in Goulburn. So, a couple more finds and the lunch time event before heading off to the next one. I stopped along the way to the final event, to find a 2006 cache as well as a couple of others at the same rest area. Then it was time to have the final CITO. Not much rubbish here but was still great talking all things Geo and avenging a DNF. I then headed over to Queanbeyan for a rest before heading over to night church over at Tuggy. Afterwards, I headed off to find a cache that can really only be done at night before heading back to the motel. A really big day but I loved every moment of it.
**Note: Some of day #2 caches were signed as either: The JM Crew or The DSD Team.**

It was in th obvious place, but still had to do a bit of scrambling before finding the exact place!
When the weather for today was predicted to be cold, windy with showers we decided to stay close to town and pick up some caches in the immediate area.
Some good hides and tough ones resulting in a couple of favourite awarded and a couple of DNFs was the result.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache DARKSIDEDAN.

Stopped at yass for lunch on my way home today. A quick walk over to this one. Took a few minutes of searching before the cache turned up, tftc!!
#2009 I was here with injuryman in December last year but he had already claimed this find before I arrived, so I decided to leave it for another day. I was extremely surprised to see that he was the last finder almost 4 months later. Thanks again DARKSIDEDAN.
#12464 - 11:52:00 AM; On another mission with Sol de lune to Black Range Road on the other side of Yass to collect some more challenge caches as well as more in the "Birds of Australia" series. After completing that part of the mission, we stopped off to collect some of the newer caches around the Truck Stop and through Yass as we made our way home, including this one. The cache was in good order and after adding our initials (LL and Sdl) to the log, the cache was replaced as found. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
Out with LuckyL10n for a morning along the nearby back roads and called in for this one on the way home. I looked everywhere, except the right spot, and didn't find it. LL came up and put his hand on it first place he looked. End result....all was good

Found it, stamped / tagged it, replaced it where it was in its little hidding space, then onto the next treasure for the day.

Despite accurate coordinates, it took a minute to locate this cache because there were a number of possible hide locations. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks DarkSideDan for the cache.
On a sunny Winter's morning took to the road seemingly less travelled to find a good number of Challenge and Wherigos mixed with the odd traditional here and there.
Things started well with several fast finds, but things quickly turned a tad nasty when a local nutbag pulled up beside me in his large manly white 4wd ute (rego details available on request) and accused me of taking photos of his property. While I had my iPhone in my hand, the closest I came to taking photos of his long grass and piles of dirt, from a PUBLIC ROAD, was that I was actually carrying the iPhone in my hand. After I pretty much ignored him completely, including his questions as to where I was from I did give him a quick explanation about what Geocaching was, as opposed to ones rights from said public road. 'Never heard of it' was his reply, to which I replied 'well you can follow me along the road for the next 2.5 hours and watch me do exactly the same'. A school mini bus then pulled up next to him where they commenced some sort of conversation to which I was not privy to.
As I was finishing off my draft log, including a few details of the conversation they both suddenly left, without even a pleasantry mind you, and the last I saw of either of them was his TWO MASSIVE BLACK AND WHITE SPOTTED GREAT DANES staring straight back at me as he disappeared off down the road.
With the departure of the crazy cropper I continued on my way without further issue. Up and over hill and dale through some wonderful back road scenery. Eventually rejoined the highway where I turned West for a few major road hides. On my return there was further interaction with a local, this time a member of the constabulary. A quick breathalyser test later and I was back on my merry way.
Pulling into Yass I successfully revisited a previous sneaky DNF and quickie a little further down the road. From there it was straight back to the big smoke just in time for school pickup.
A successful day overall, 1 deluded farmer, 1 pleasant law enforcement officer, 40 finds and 1 DNF.
Apologies for the generic log, anything of further interest added at the end of log. TNLNSL TFTC

An early last minute decision to attend this event and later the CITO in Yass.
We received a text early this morning from ALL7 asking if we were attending and we said we are now going to this one and the CITO in Yass then hitting some new caches of Sui's in the area.
So we joined up and headed off for a nice relaxed day of caching.
After the events we headed to this new section of caches that we needed to do .
After stopping for something to eat we decided to pick this one up as well. Quick find and on our way to the challenge series.
Thanks for the hide DARKSIDEDAN

Another quick stop on our way South. We were going to target the closest cache however it looked like a Fruit Stall has setup shop right near the GZ. Then quickly looked and saw this geocache. I know the CO's name from somewhere but I can't remember where. Trying to remember, we strolled down to take a look.
A police car past us just before we got to the GZ. Quickly found it in the 3rd place I looked before the girls had started looking. Still can't remember why I know the CO's name, but it will come to me.
Thanks for the cache DARKSIDE DAN

After we spent the morning catching the Aussie birds and being challenged checking our caching qualifications, we couldn't resist a few more caches as we headed to our Yass accommodation. What a fascinating history lesson great reading for the last cache of the day.
Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for placing such interesting caches on the gameboard, for players to find.

With Tankengine and dty73 we set out early this morning to watch the balloons, so after they floated off and a bit of breakfast we set off for the cache maintenance that was on the days agenda. That taken care of and with Yass close by with caches we could all get, made for a good choice for our next direction. As luck would have it a new cache published while there and an unexpected AL we hadn't noticed and FTF.
Cached our way about and after a little lunch a new plan and it was off to Jugiong for another new cache, a busy town as we did the local caches and then a few others on the way home. An unexpected but lovely day with a lot of variety, nice scenery and some quality caches along the way.
Think I'm just about the only person to dnf this cache! But redeemed today and not sure how I missed that. Thanks for the cache Darksidedan.

On my way to Albury to help a friend get to Victoria.
As we stopped for a rest, I would check to see if there where any Caches.
To my luck, there are 3 here.
This was the 3rd of the 3 finds at this location.
This was a quick find.

Catching up with some late logs
An unexpected trip to NSW saw us with some spare time, as we had not planned anything we concentrated on Adventure Labs but not passing anything that was close.
We were here early morning but there were still quite a few people around. Old Ray must have known something when he purchased the brand for such a small 1.5 percent, but these days that would still be huge amount.
We located the cache and added our name to the log before going for a McCoffee.
Once more our thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the cache and the history lesson.

Tankengine and I wanted to complete the Whereigo and Challenge Cache trails in the area.
And also had a few stray caches as well we wanted to find.
We set off early and started caching at 7:30am. We went a whole lot quicker than we expected and finished by lunchtime.
It was a great day. Not too hot and the wind didn’t start blowing until the last stretch of caching we had.
We made a friend and didn’t make a friend, but on the whole it was a successful day. We had 79 finds and 0 dnfs. Thanks Tankengine for all the driving and assistance and of course your great company.
