The kind of puzzle I enjoy most days. Barvedthe gale to get to GZ and poked around at the wrong levels for a while before striking rich. Thanks DSD.
This was a cache that was on our "hope to get to" list and as the weather is poor today, we decided to give it a go. It didn't take long for Papi4506 to come up with the goods. Thanks for placing this cache for all cachers to enjoy.
Apparently this cache was one that I was glad I hadn't looked at, or so I am told. I am not big on puzzles but I found the cache with no problems, and before the rain started to get heavier. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Found on a typical Autumn day with Roostaman,. . Another found while in town for the ACT Mega event. Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN, ***MrsRoosta***
*** draft log for stats tracking, more later ***GC91ZFD Leg bun1 April 2024T17:41:35 AEDTTFTC DARKSIDEDANI made the quick find, thankfully away from cobwebs.
During our weeks trip with Bare Foot Guru, Infoferret and Trinity to the Canberra Mega we logged as a combination of "BFG, CF, BIC, BITC" depending on who we were caching with at the time. The trip took us on a flight to Melbourne first, then a drive to Canberra, followed by a drive to Sydney before flying out again. Where possible I will add commentary to each find about the cache. Thanks for all the caches, hides and effort put into hiding and maintaining them.Whilst in the area cleaning out caches and found this one. Searched all around but too many spiderwebs for my liking. Glad the cache wasn't where I thought it would be and BFG managed to extract it quickly.
Found on a typical Autumn day with MrsRoosta.. In the area for the CITO and a few caches of course. Not many muggles around and a quick find, thankfully. . A good hide and a fav point added. Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN, ***Roostaman***
Had the corrected co-ords in hand and came along with ilook4geo. When we arrived there were a couple of other cachers there who had just found the container. So we all signed the log and it was returned to its proper place. Had a bit of a chat and then moved on to the next target. Thanks for this hide go to DARKSIDEDAN.
This was on our list to look for today with goingplaces2. Arrived at the co-ords to meet some fellow cachers. Had a chat, signed the log and all was put back into hiding. TFTC.
1 April 2024 18:15 TFTC DARKSIDEDAN for placing this cache, number 14035 for me. Not quite what I expected, TrinityNZ spotted it.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
This was one of the puzzles Id solved prior to coming to Canberra GeoBash mega, and really enjoyed. I love puzzles like this. We were expecting a different type of find, so were pleasantly surprised to find the container a bit more easily than expected. Thanks for the puzzle and cache, which Im giving an FP to for the puzzle.
Solved this toughie ages ago, so as I was in the area on the way to a CITO, I decided to swing by and finally make the collect!Quick find that blends in quite well. GZ appears to be some sort of a '"meeting" spot judging by the evidence left behind Thanks for another one, DSD!
Found at 4:43 PM GAFF5/1Wasn't sure if this was going to be a fishing pole cache judging by the attributes. There was a beautiful specimen of a tree nearby, but GZ took me to another locations all together. So started to search more traditionally and found the cache that blended in very well. Thanks to DARKSIDEDAN
Found during the Mega event in Canberra over the Easter long weekend. Our team comprised courtneyrose_, Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, Freddo, gridge98 and Team Waldron, signing the logs as ABP to save time and space in the logbooks , or with our individual caching names. Enjoyed a great weekend away finding a rewarding range of cache types, d/t combinations, cache hides and retrievals. Thanks for the cache DARKSIDEDAN!
Found on our journey over the week here. This weekend was mega weekend and we headed over with Courtneyrose_ Freddo, Team Waldron, e.gregory1, Davidwazza and Featherwaite as part of our team called: ABP (Alphabet People), the log books were either signed with the name, ABP or our individual caching names.A great weekend away in the capital and a very well organised mega, it was nice to be back in the ACT caching once again over easter with great weather. Thanks for the cache
Found while attending the Mega event in Canberra over Easter.Today I teamed up with FeatherWaite, Team Waldron, gridge98, CourtneyRose, Freddo and Davidwazza. Logs were signed ABP to save time and space on the logsheets. It was a productive day, focusing mainly on caches of interest, with an emphasis on the Virtual caches and a couple of older ones. The weather was fine and quite warm, in contrast to some of the other times Ive been in Canberra over Easter. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the puzzle and the cache.
Found this during a fantastic weekend away at the Canberra Mega, with gridge98, Freddo, Team Waldron, e.gregory1, Davidwazza and Featherwaite. The log books were either signed with the name ABP or our individual caching names. Was an excellent Mega, grateful to be part of it!
Reperio 10:23Day 3 of our Capital GeoBash mega event trip to Canberra, and today, Miss Vitruvius and I teamed up with Haveanez and DazRascal for some tree climbing fun and adventure. This one almost provided some more climbing fun as Miss V wanted to go up, but fortunately the cache was spotted just after we arrived. Nice spot and nice puzzle to solve.Gratias DARKSIDEDANAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Quick find here. Thanks for the cache. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Out and about on a beaut sunny Saturday with Marcus Vitruvius & DazRascal. Not a huge fan of crosswords or similar logic puzzles so they are usually left until last to solve. Haha much prefer a cipher type. A quick find here. Thanks for the puzzle and cache. Cheers

Accompanied with Groots_1983, enjoyed silver this puzzle as well. Easy spot , definitely no cache so ALL7 Replaced new cache for you .. all good..TFTM
All7 has said that this cache was missing. She has replaced the cache for me at my request. The cache and logbook have been replaced. The cache is ready to find again.
I myself possess little skill in the cryptic crossword spectrum. Luckily, I have a little weapon in my arsenal for solving these pesky word conundrums, which is somebody smarter than I am.
ZAP! Crossword solved.
Quite a clever one, with some very creative clues, I do love the layout, very friendly.
Anyways, off to GZ today (nice spot) where the cache was quickly located. I have a slight suspicion that there are two caches since the names on the cache I found are very little.

This was a tricky hide. I never had a chance. Luckily I travel with a master seeker & after reading a couple of previous logs she casually says “ found it”.
I checked on the cache today. It's still there. Log is dry. Still plenty of room for names in the log. Container still good. Just needs a new O-ring soon.
Im not very good with crossword.. My geodaughter love crossword then finally GZ then few days later then zoom to GZ with MW9910B... The weather is okay... tks
#2991 I was with pantspeople when he found this on 20th August so added my name back then. It has taken me until now to complete the puzzle and allow myself to formally claim the cache. While I understand the basics it did still require a reasonable amount of assistance. At least I’ve learned some new tactics. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN!
Solved recently with the help of someone way smarter than I. With a number of tasks still to do before an upcoming overseas trip it was great to have this cache only a few minutes ride from home. Choose my time wisely, ie no muggles, found, signed and replaced with no one the wiser. TNLNSL TFTC

This was a nice puzzle right up our alley, with some nifty clues and lots of fun had during the solve.
At GZ, it was a quick find with turtle and dead thief. TFTC

A challenging puzzle (well, to me they're all challenging), but eventually managed to tease a set of coordinates out.
Today in the vicinity we stopped by GZ and located the sneakily hidden container in the third place we checked. I had a useful TOTT in the car that assisted with extraction.
Thanks, DSD!

Worth a favourite point for the first sensible cryptic puzzle that I was able to mostly resolved with my sister.
We spent many an evening over FaceTime. Cryptic puzzles are her passion so she loved teaching me, one by one, how to resolve each ACROSS and DOWN. Boy, it was a bit of torture at times! ! TFTC for the bonding sessions (I think ) DARKSIDEDAN.

# 8009 Solved some time ago with the puzzle solving group. It was a good puzzle and given how close to home it is, it's surprising it took me this long to collect this one. You didn't take too long to find once at g z. I tried a number of the usual places for sitting on one and used an on hand tool of the trade.
Thanks DARKSIDEDAN and your puzzle droid.

Found with dty73 and Tankengine on a lovely warm sunny day. Required a good push on this cpuzzle by another cacher that could see the way through easier. I had looked quickly once before but failed to find it in my limited time. Definietly checked there before so it was missing, shouldn't have second guessed my inability to find it after all as lack of time and needing a better look! thanks for the cache.
Chooo ooo [found] with dty73 and aquilus1 ! - Nice find here! Thanks DARKSIDEDAN!
Found it on a gorgeous day out with the kids.
Having tried to find it last year during lockdown, thanks for the replacement! It was exactly where I expected.

I had to go to Franklin today, so Barb2e, Joolay and I decided to meet to get a couple of caches in the area. This one is the first we had in our sights. I solved this a while ago, but only put it in my solved folder and forgot about it.
Nice area, quite deserted with everyone probably out and doing last minute Christmas Shopping.

In my effort to get out of the house at least a few times a week after work at home days, I headed out to Gunghalin to try for a few caches. Happily I found all five today, so I am glad my time was well spent.
This was a cache I had worked out the answer to some time ago. I have even come to look for it before. Having seen that it was replaced recently, I decided to give it another go. It was in one of the expected spots this time. signed and replaced.

Fun, tricky puzzle and I'm pretty sure my coords were good. Looked pretty carefully at the more likely places, but there's a bunch of broken glass around and I'm out with the geokiddies on a lockdown stroll, so I wasn't able to do the full detail search I needed to.
For what tuned out to be my last full afternoons caching in quite a while, I took my pole and tried to find a few higher caches.
Disappointingly I did not mange to find the cache, even though the last two in this area have been in one of the likely spots, I failed to see it today.
Thanks.

After the event, were I left as one of the last people, I had a look and there were still a couple of caches I wanted to get in the area. There was still light so I went for it.
This was a puzzle sitting in the solved pile and ready to be picked up. Nice hiding spot at GZ!

An enjoyable puzzle, worked through it when it first got published and put it off to the side for a sunny day. I collected this whilst doing other things, so a quick stop and find was had. I also remember a cache in this park before, it was on the nearby power box from memory! A great park, and this was a good hide too, very nice
Although there was a better spot for a cache nearby which I was disappointed this cache now blocks Ahhh well, a unique DT rating either way! Thanks

Well that was a pretty straight-forward solve. Just had to take the time to work through each bit of logic. I reckon I've picked up another cache in this location years ago. TFTC
Had enjoyed the solve on this when it was published. One of my favourite pastimes, along with caching, of course. Today, whilst in the area, I stopped by for a quick find, with a large cache guardian looking on from afar and a somewhat smaller one looking on from within! TFTC DSD and outsourced puzzle compiler.
#10372 - 10:13:00 AM; Given the forecast for continuing hot weather, Sol de lune and I decided to do a few urban caches around Gungahlin today. This type of puzzle is not my forte, but over an extended period, with an occasional push, managed to get some coords which proved worthwhile today when we made the find. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
Lots of work with this and there was a little help along the way, but that didn't take away from what was required to be done. Once at GZ, the cache was soon in hand.

Was at home a little bored (and unmotivated to do housework) so decided to go for a drive and do the Canberra Tram A/L and a few caches around the place.
Took a while to work through this one as I am totally no good at these kinda puzzles. Eventually got a green light.

One of the FFLL team likes these so during awake time while watching some telly worked on this one. Finally finished and getting a green light decided to pick this one up as well today as it isn't far from a fur kid we are looking after.
Quick find in the first place we looked. Signed and on our way.

22,239. Found with minniek this afternoon.
Picked minniek up from work and headed out for a few caches. I only needed one today - a puzzle - so we picked this one. minniek did the honours of solving this one - right up her alley. GZ turned out to be a familiar area - a Multi was near here about 12 years ago. GZ was deserted so a quick find was made - in the first place we looked - always happy about that !!! Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off home.

Headed out after work to continue topping up my find numbers for the day. I made a little bit of progress on this on my own when it was published. A few days later I had a short opportunity for some cryptic training with AngelG27 and solved a few more. From there I had enough clues to complete the crossword on my own over he next day or so. This afternoon, I dropped by GZ, and soon located, retrieved and signed the cache. TFTC.

Early morning mission with Bobl27 to avoid the heat of the day and get back to my home office before my meetings start for the day. Aimed for mostly quick finds, with some of them having had work done beforehand. Six caches found to show for our morning’s work.
I love a good cryptic crossword! It does take me a while to get into the cryptic headspace, but worked my way through it slowly and with a tip or two from a friendly Fox. Quick find at GZ as the terrain suggested only a couple of options. Fav point comin at ya !

**FTF** That took longer than it should have to find so I'll just blame the dark. Having sat up in bed to finish the puzzle I decided to come and get it. Tftc
I grew up with LB, who handed over the reins to DA, who has been rockin' it for more than three decades. It just so happens that I went to school with a relative of LB, and briefly worked with a relative of DA. As for DH, DP, NS, RM and the relatively recent arrival LR (who I like to refer to as DA Lite), I don't think I have ever encountered any of their rellies. Cruciverbalists probably don't get paid big $$$ so I don't think I'll ever go down that career path.
Word on the street is that this cache has been around for a while, and in fact used to be a two-stage multi with a difficulty of five-point-oh. But reviewers do have some rules to stick with, and if a cache is 95% puzzle and 5% multi, then it does seem right to use the mystery icon and not that orange n white double-cache symbol.
Nice work to barb2e for finding this in the darkness and claiming the coveted ftf prize while the Fantastic Mr Fox was sleeping. I can't help wondering what time it was that she was looking around GZ for the tiny cache. It is a nasty little hiding spot, about one metre south of where it seems to appear in the Google Maps view of this part of the world.
I think DSD has only 3 or spots left in the cache placement DT grid. Now that's an achievement.
