Out for a maintenance run along the range today so checked in here as there has been a spate of DNFs since its replacement a couple of months ago. Actually no-one has found the replacement..!!??It did take a bit of a search but we found it! It is there, well hidden - safely at the base of a big tree surrounded with epiphytes. The co-ordinates are still good although tree cover can make them a bit askew. I have updated the hint though as the closest plant is a bromeliad not a cordyline now. I also upped the difficulty level a tad due to the recent difficulties with finding it.A good poking stick should help in the leaf litter.Happy Hunting!!
Thankyou to smallwombat for maintaining this one with a replacement while he was here today. Same location & level.
What a great little billabong at the end of the street here. Saw that this might need some community intervention so I contacted the cache owner in the unfortunate circumstances that this cache might actually be in need of replacing and got the goahead should my extensive landscaping abilities not see fruition. After a good while at gz the shrubs were getting nervous and the tree blushing so I tucked a wee beastie back dere an' skedaddled. Thanks spiderwebbs4 for leading me down to this pretty place with a geocache!Crisis averted!
elina_maree and I had quite a long look here in the the drizzly weather and couldn't find anything.
Couldnt find today. Had quite a dig around in the wet. Ive messaged a few people for a PAF but I havent heard back as yet.
House sitting in Mapleton - our charge is one cranky cat. Not many caches left suitable for me to find on my own. Today, thought we might be able to clear up a couple more.Searched low and lower, after reading previous posts. Disregarded the hint, moved towards the broms, poked about with my hiking pole for quite a while. MR D did come over for a look as well, but we could not find this well-hidden cache.Beautiful spot. Thanks spiderwebbs for bringing me here.
My only find today ... I was determined to get a smiley with this one. Had to dig deep for it.Log is completely damp. I will be up this way again soon and will stop in to replace with fresh paper.Photo sent as proof of find.TFTC ... Beautiful little spot ...
We looked but unfortunately we'll need to add a DNF to the list.Maybe next time.
Dug all through the bromeliads but no cache appeared. Huge clumps of caterpillars did though so not a total loss. Thanks spiderwebbs4
Been here a couple of times. Internet not good here. Today spotted it and soon signed the log. Returned to where I found it. Thanks spiderwebbs4. All good with this cache.
Shortly after our find up the road, I was surprised to run into shazzar66 and Duppers here again! Phone reception was a bit shotty for me, and it did take a few laps around the tree and a bit of head scratching before the cache was in hand! Glad to avenge this DNF of mine, last time the GPS signal sent me over to the creek. Thanks for the cache spiderwebbs4!
Found with Duppers and JDoutdoors while in the area after the event hosted by Dahumbug. TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
A little tricky but found after consulting some logs. Found by JDOutdoors, with Shazzar66 after a nearby event. TFTC
First ever find! Had to dig a little and took down some cobwebs, but it was worth it. Left a wholesome little treat behind
Not found since September Flood been through here. I think it is now swimming in the billabong. Thanks for the hunt.
Me and my sibling went on a walk and decided to give this one ago, thanks for the challenge
spiderwebbs4 I found your cache Intellagama Billabong on 19/9/2022, 9:50 am. This is my find 4227 and find # 1 today. Found it after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Yes, I see the flood debris all around where the cache was hidden. It has not been found since the big flooding event in February, so most likely has been washed away. I have replaced the container with the same rocky type a little bit further from the water just in case. Look for the bromeliads and reach in.
Back in action.
Happy hunting!!

Judging by the flood debris, I suspect this cache has gone for The Big Swim. TFTH and bringing me to this tiny delighful spot.
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty and the Grandsons at 2 o'clock. Having lunch nearby so an easy walk and find TFTC
We had couple of caches on our list in this area, and as a bonus we gave this green dot a go.
What a beautiful little spot - and a creek with running water!
Had to look in our online dictionary for the hint, and started searching.
Soon the cache was in hands.

Relogging found caches under the name Bonkersandshush to my other accountGAZKERSH.Thanks.Quick find while in the area Thanks for the cache
Out for the day with teamdfl. We had a plan to walk up Kenilworth Bluff, but the heavy rain this morning put paid to that, so we went for Plan B: Woombye, Nambour and Mapleton. We met up at North Lakes, worked out what the nearest cache we both needed was, and set off.
Love the name of this one. It is a lovely area and a very short stroll from the car. A quick find. TFTC, spiderwebbs4.

Out for the day with IolantheK. Plan A was scuppered by nasty weather. We did not really have a plan B, but that was not going to stop us.
We had been up hill, down dale and spent a lot of time doing catch and release today. Nice to stroll a few metres to an easy find.

DNF GPS was all over the place...another hint would be good. Did a lot of clambering over steep loose rocks in someone's front garden. Pretty spot though... And compensatory lunch at Mapleton Bakery on the way back was yummy.
A billabong in your street would be wonderful not to mention the beautiful little waterfall! Just gorgeous. TFTC TNLNSL
First find for me with Granddaughter Chloe. Trees play havoc with the GPS but we kept looking.
We've stopped off in Kenilworth, and plan to base ourselves here for a few days before heading to the Dayboro Mega Event.
Today we headed off to Mapleton to do an Adventure Lab as well as logging a few Traditional caches on our journey.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing
Thank you for adding to our adventure.
Regards
Ian & Penny

My wife and I had enjoyed a caching day starting in Nambour and finishing at Mapleton. This was definitely our favourite spot on the trip and worthy of a favourite point. The clouds had come over and cooled the whole place down.
This location was tranquil, serene and all the other puff adverbs that real estate agents use to sell a property. Properties are easy to sell when you have a photo of a couple eating cheese and drinking wine on their deck looking over million dollar views of the water. Forget the fact that the property is under a flight path.
There was even a kookaburra that didn’t mind us getting close to him (or her) - I don’t wanted to be kookasexist. We watched as it ate a worm that is bigger than any I have living in my body and I keep them on a tight diet of low carbs and wine. Normally you find a cache and then move on but we had to stay and enjoy the water. We also had to see whether the giant worm was going to eat the kookaburra from the inside. tftc

Wednesday. Last cache of the day today. It was a stinker of a day (heat wise) and we knew new records were going to be made in various parts of the state today. Feels like we moved next door to the sun. It was very enjoyable up at Mapelton though and we collected a tidy lot of caches. We pulled up at a lovely little spot and look! Running water!! Nice. Had a look here and there and then thought to check to see if there was a hint. Thankfully there was as reception was a bit dicey here. Saw the hint straight off and then a second later had the cache in hand. Lovely little tucked away area here and nice cache too.
This was the 6th of 6 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***spiderwebbs4*** for showing us this place

This morning I happened to meet up with Beardman75. karicka, georode and chamad as they were climbing my trees. BM75 mentioned something about a FTF at Mapleton and I wasnt aware as I wasnt getting notifications about new caches or anything. I followed these guys to this cache and my name was put in there at the top of the list.
Cheers spiderwebbs4

After an early morning drive up to Montville for some tree climbing we noticed there was a new cache just up the road. Reaching GZ one member noticed/saw that there were a few others out caching in the area, so we thought the FTF was gone. We found the cache and the suspense as we opened it up, oh wow, we are the first to find.
With Georode, BM75, Karicka and myself as FTF and our names in the log and cache replaced as found it was on to bigger things for the day.
Thank you for the cache.

I'd just finished at another nearby cache and there was nothing showing in my GPS so checked the app and saw this one just down the road.
So I headed off and was soon at GZ and made a quick find.
Log signed and all returned as found.

After the power being out since 3pm yesterday and back on again at 7:30 am this morning, I was checking my emails and noticed this one close to home published last night, so decided to make my way up to try for a FTF, the search as a 5 minute one and upon opening I found I was beaten by 15 minutes Oh well 2nd to find it is....

A beautiful day for a drive after the storms yesterday, so we headed up the range for this one. Arrived close to GZ and parked up next to another vehicle only to find our caching buddies Janet and John - great to catch up again folks. While they finished off a phone call, we went in search of the cache and made a quick find. What a great area to bring us to, the waterfall was flowing nicely and there were plenty of butterflies and birds around us and 3 water dragons to add to the adventure. Deserves a favourite point for the location. TFTC spiderwebbs4
We came for a drive up the range this morning to look for this newly published cache. As we parked another car pulled up. Hello Dick and Bev! Cache was found and we signed the log. GZ was in a lovely little park with the water dragons running around. Thanks Spiderwebbs4 for this cache.
