Our journey south begins, somewhat reluctantly as we have been enjoying the warm weather and we know it is still cold and wet in Victoria.
It was only a short journey from Maryborough to Kilkivan but some well placed caches with good parking enabled us to collect caches on the way. There was only one we had to pass as we could not find a place to pull up. Lots of traditionals, but good sizes and in great condition.
On arrival at Kilkivan we set up camp and had some lunch before heading off to complete the Adventure Lab in town. Then is was off up one of the trails on Mudlo Road through the National Park and beyond. Some great countryside and worth the trip. Again good sized caches in the main in good condition. We got to use our TOTT we are becoming more proficient with but missed one that seemed to be gone.
A big day again, so we both should sleep well tonight!

A quick find! Thanks for the hide!

Muggle65 and I are after select caches today to help with a challenge. We are covering many miles and have bitten off more than we can chew. The scenery was beautiful and this is the first time I have been out here and everything is green. We really enjoyed our day out here. Thank you for the fun

Up early this morning & off to find the FTF unleashed by Team JLBL & like all those preceding us ?????? no luck finding this one!!! But we aren’t claiming an DNF, just accepting partial frustration.

?????? & I looked for what seemed forever unmolested by muggles at 8:30am in the morning.

So leaving that location we had more success down the road at the challenge caches ?????? and then off to Tiaro & onward to our main hunting ground in the Kilkivan area.

Starting our day before the sun came up, we finished it a couple of hours prior to the sun coming up the next day, Simply because a FTF opportunity came up just after we arrived home & had started to relax. So at Midnight we set off for a bicycle ride along the gateway to finally claim a FTF for the day?? or was that for tomorrow???
Don’t care!!! Going home to sleep ?? sleep ?? ?? ??.

No tennis today so the next best thing to do is to go geocaching with friends Peppa and TMZ59. Decided to chase down caches for a few challenges we have been working on on this road trip.

Now making our way back to the main road, we stopped for this cache. While Peppa was acting like a mountain goat, I took advantage of the fruit tree growing on the side of the road. First thought was lemons but turned out to be Oranges. What a bonus.

Found cache and signed log. Returned cache as found. Out with patrol14 and Peppa. Beautiful day for finding a cache or two. We have a list and we will follow it. TFTC.

Mudlo Road is rich in targets for us, but it’s taken over 4 hours to get here from Nanango… there was one or two caches along the way…

While I did my best impression of a mountain goat Patrol14 was merrily collecting lemons which later turned out to be oranges…

TFTC. Day 2 of our stay attending the Mid year event. We decided to head up Mudlo Rd to complete all the caches this way. All finds were quickly found with good co-ordinates.

01/07/21 Staying in Free Camp sites with Caravan and seeing the sights and grabbing some caches. I am on holidays from Mackay. Sunny day turned to rainy day today. Returned cache to its location all good. TFTC SL

After camping overnight in Kilkivan I headed out this morning along Mudlo Rd. Another great country drive with good containers and good coords, which always makes the experience nicer.

No problems finding the caches and once the logs were signed all were returned as found.

If a cache needed attention that was done too.

Thanks to the CO's for placing a great series in this area.

We are now camped at the Kilkiven Rest area. A big weekend in town with the annual horse ride event on. A street parade of all sorts of horses & riders was part of our couple of days here.
We spent many klms driving the country roads, the farmers have to be happy with the acres of green grass in the paddocks.
We found a good variety of caches in a variety of locations.

Another day caching the Kilkivan area. It was a really nice drive today, made even better by not having to wade through long grass to find the caches. Our tally today was 27 caches & 0 DNF's.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.

##Note to CO's of caches along Mudlo Road Kilkivan & not within a national park boundary.##
###(This is one such cache).###
We were approached today by a person purporting to be an owner of property along this stretch of road. She took great pains to explain that the road reserve here is 5 metres wide, and that some caches placed here are actually much further than 5 metres from the road.

She stressed that these caches are therefore on private property and asked us to move any we found any that were incorrectly placed.

Most of the caches we found were OK, but a few were quite a distance from the road. (Caches up side tracks are NOT OK).

We didn't move any, but if your cache is more than 5 metres from the main road - please do something about moving it.

Another nice drive around this area picking up some caches and this is one we found. A lovely drive down this country road. Log signed and returned as found. Thanks Dosscrapbooking and Sweet-Sour for showing us this place.

Day two of our trip to clear up some caches in the Goomeri - Kilkivan area. Drove to the end of Mudlo Road and worked our way back, quite a scramble up to this one. TFTC doscrapbooking

Day 2 of the New Year event at Kilkivan. Having a wonderful time meeting new cachers as well as catching up with some old faces.
Today Ms Maddy, TripleTurmoil, CHAMAD and myself piled into the car and headed out for some new caches, and to collect some oldies. There were a couple of things which happened today, these will remain firmly implanted for quite a while to come. These events added to a super fun day with great caches and fantastic company.
This was a quick find, log signed, cache replaced as found.

All hides were great, nice and quick to find & my apologies for the generic logs but I do appreciate all the time & effort that has gone into placing the caches for everyones enjoyment.

In the Kilkivan area for a couple of days caching around. Today (Day 2) I have hatzofff and Snickersallan in the geo-vehicle.

After a big day of caching yesterday and a good night sleep it was time to do it all over again. The plan today was to grab some caches along Mudlo road and get a couple of ftf’s. Same team as yesterday and Willis007 offered to drive, we also had a new inclusion, 4Hawkers joined us today. A fun morning and a lot of chatter along the way as these three girls can talk alot, lol.

The trip was entertaining, the variety of caches was nice and they were all found in good condition, the scenery was varied and spectacular along this road; what an awesome area, thank you.

Thank you to all the CO’s for placing caches along this road, I really enjoyed the drive along here and finding your caches.

Went for a drive up Mudlo Rd with 4Hawkers and this is one of the caches we found. A short scramble and it was soon located.

**FTF** Shortly after arriving at the Newbies New Year's Event we were handed a list of coords for new caches, some of which were along the very road we were targeting that afternoon! I, (Mrs Wallaby), needed a lesson on how to plug coords into the GPS, so after much dithering we set off, driving to the end of the road before making our way back towards town collecting smileys. It was such a treat to drive this road after rain, giving it a much different feel to the usual dry scrub. Thanks doscrapbooking and Sweet-Sour for bringing us here

Dianne (doscrapbooking), my daughter and I decided to place some caches together before the event currently on in Kilkivan, I had signed all prior to placement.

All finds were in good condition and were replaced as found.
