Another trip North and I like using geocaching to stop driving and get out and stretch the legs a bit. Big GrinThis seems a random spot to place a cache[?] Good thing I am in a 4wd, the clearance made getting to gz easy and hassle free. CoolIt took me a little while to find the cache as I was looking way too high in the limbs. Big GrinThanks for the cache.

I was on an incredible road trip adventure travelling back to my work location to stay for the week. I stumbled upon this drive-by cache. It was a perfect spot to take a quick break and stretch my legs. The coordinates were spot on, and the cache was cleverly hidden. Thanks to the cache owner for placing this here and adding a fun element to my journey".

This cache was a quick find during my late-night drive, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [youngoldfella](https://coord.info/PR1TC79) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats. This afternoon, I departed Brisbane to reach Gayndah for the night. I was able to make a few stops whilst passing through / visiting Gympie and Kilkivan, and it was quite late once I arrived in the cute and charming town of Gayndah.

Heading for Gayndah and starting caching at Kilkivan. Don't normally do drive by caching. It is just not my thing. I don't mind if they are well spaced. Many of these were much more difficult than the DT ratings suggested. I suspect placed in the dry years while now it is waist high grass in most places.

Today, it stormed , it showered, and at times, it was flaming hot sun. Sometime at the more time-consuming caches, it was all of that.

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.

Day 11 after an overnight stay in Biloela is was time to head to Nanango to visit family collecting caches along our journey to break up the drive.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise mentioned. Lots of interesting things seen along the way and some wildlife thrown in for good measure.

Thanks to all the CO’s for the placements and keeping this hobby alive.

Out for a country drive towards Biggenden and then back to Kilkivan along Booubyjan Rd. Great location and it was very quiet as I ambled along finding the caches. Good coords always help and nice size containers too.

No problems finding the caches and once the logs were signed all were returned as found.

If a cache needed attention that was done too.

Thanks to the CO's for placing a great series in this area.

Our 3rd trip out this way in as many weeks, another 4 days for this run.
Why do country COs place their caches so FAR APART! SurprisedBig Grin
After a great night's sleep at Kinbombi Falls free camping we were keen to collect a few more smilies!
Day 2 ... #10 of 20 smilies today. Smile

Looks like we may be lucky enough to find a small patch of 'really quick' finds.
The second in a row that were almost drop & roll caches.
No real need to stop the Geo-Beast, just slow it right down. Big Grin
Made our mark & replaced as found.

We are now camped at the Kilkiven Rest area. A big weekend in town with the annual horse ride event on. A street parade of all sorts of horses & riders was part of our couple of days here.
We spent many klms driving the country roads, the farmers have to be happy with the acres of green grass in the paddocks.
We found a good variety of caches in a variety of locations.
Thankyou youngoldfella for placing this cache.

Hi there youngoldfella.

We found your cache **"Attached to my Tree"** today. (This makes our find count 25545).

Finishing off yesterday's cache run and then doing some more. Battling long grass, cobblers pegs, spider webs and a dropped GPS made our tally only 22 caches & 0 DNF's.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge

Thank you for adding to our adventure.

Regards

Ian & Penny

Dianne (doscrapbooking), my daughter and I decided to cache together today, starting off on Tansey Rd, then north to Booubyjan, northeast to Teebar and finally south back to Kilkivan.
Unfortunately we didn't find any first to finds, they had all gone by the time we arrived at all cachers.
All finds were in good condition and were replaced as found.

Visiting Kilkivan for a few days and enjoying finding all the newly released caches with hatzofff, E_Smiley and RoddyC.
All hides had great containers and were relatively easy to find.
Appreciate all the work of the various cache owners who placed the hides to coinside with todays Event. (My apologies for the generic logs)
