Ive had a lot of the Drum Beat series sitting in my solved pile for a while. Ive recently deployed a new TOTT for the tree fishing caches and this one was by far the highest Ive retrieved. TOTT performed extremely well. TFTC
Out today with ILTW and Legend to do some more of The Drum. All the puzzles have been done in advance so a nice easy walk and find. TFTC
Out on a very warm day geocaching with Legend and Sniggypop to try to find the rest of the drum caches that we solved earlier this year. Quickly spotted up high
Today I set out on a MacGyver Day on the northside, looking for caches that require a special tool. I ended up hauling in 10 tree fishing caches in total. This was my fourth stop and another nice little walk up from the nearby parking area. It was very easy to spot and nice and quick to retrieve the cache. All good here with the cache and logbook. The pole reinforcements I made earlier today seem to have helped a lot with retrieving the heavy caches used in this series. Thanks Willis007 for the cache and the puzzle! I'm not sure why this one had such a high Difficulty. I found it to be one of the easiest puzzles with all the answers pretty easy to search up. I'm not sure why I hadn't solved it earlier but I when I saw it was a tree fishing cache I quickly solved it last night.
Back at this cache with my pole. Last time I was in the vicinity getting some other targets, I had left my pole in the car and decided to leave it for another day! A cache requiring a special tool for an August challenge. TFTC
We first spotted this one a while back, when we were only just becoming familiar with the tools required for caching.Fully equiped, we set out again to log this one. I read some of the previous logs just before snagging this one, to find out that a friend had just recently been here and left something behind. Lo and behold, when I dropped this cache into my sons hands he found an extra piece attached. [@neilo10](https://coord.info/PR8NRA7), I have your hook in safe hands.
Thanks for this one Willis007. My first Drum Beat tree fish. I dont think I have the correct hook as I got it down but when I put it back up, my improvised hook stayed up there.
Walked across the road from the previous drumbeat and made our way to GZ where the cache was quickly located and retrieved. TFTC
Out for a day of Geocaching on the Segway collecting good DT caches. TFTC SL

On holidays with alphag_25 from Mackay. In Brisbane for a couple of days and trying to grab some of the higher DT rating caches to fill some gaps. Thanks to the CO’s for placing the caches.
Regarding this puzzle, this *Drum Beat* series cache was solved back in February 2021, and I have to admit that this puzzle was an educational lesson for me. There were a couple of the obvious Drummers that I knew of, but otherwise Google was my friend.
Today and needing my vehicle serviced, I planned to make a couple of geocache stops in Stafford Heights, which was on my way to Kedron.
Once the work was completed, I detoured back home via Wavell Heights and a strategic bakery lunch stop.
Funnily enough, I had tried to stop at this geocache a few months ago, but I didn't have my TOTT with me. So this morning, I parked in the opposite reserve car park, and then went for a walk with TOTT in hand, crossing over the busy morning congestion traffic. A short walk through the scrub and webs, and I was soon at GZ where like others, there was a tent a short distance away. I wasn't sure if anyone was home or night, so I did my best to be quiet and subtle while I searched upwards, spotted the cache, and made the relevant retrieval. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Willis007 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Easy enough to solve this puzzle. Google & wikipedia are always helpful. On wandering to GZ, we noticed a 2-man tent with a tarp strung over it nearby, although the tarp had mostly collapsed. Unfortunately, it's not the first time I've seen a tent in a quiet bush area, with the current housing crisis.
At GZ, it took us a few moments to find the cache, and then Shazzar66 did her thing and nabbed the container. All good here. TFTC and the series, Willis007

Willis007 I found your cache Drum Beat #43 on 24/1/2023, 5:20 pm. This is my find 4668 and find # 6 today. Found it near the still there campsite. Retrieved it, signed it and returned it. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
This was a fun easy puzzle. But gz was proving to be a bit trickier. Having borrowed the CO’s tree fishing pole, I arrived at gz to find a hiking tent pitched nearby a few weeks ago so returned today with sausage3 hoping it would be gone but alas it was still there and this time with a tarp over it! I spotted the cache from a nearby track about 20m away but the tent was halfway between. We called out to see if anyone was home but there was no reply so we made our way to gz, set up the pole and retrieved the cache, signed and returned. Walking back past the closed up tent, we noticed men’s shoes and MacDonald’s rubbish outside but also a smallish branch had fallen on the tarp edge which looked like it had been there since the last storm. All very strange but at least I got the cache this time. Tftc
The second of two I couldn’t retrieve today. At gz there was a hiking tent and it being early, I’m sure someone was in there. I got as close as 27m. Will have to return for this one too.
Before heading off on road trip I joined with endeavour3 and Richmond Lad for an afternoon of Drum Beating around north Brisbane. All caches we had on our list were found and an enjoyable afternoon was had. Thanks Willis007.
Out and about caching today with Endeavour 3 and joojoo57 Tackled some of the Drum Beat Geo Art. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.Signed cache. TFTC
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.
I teamed up with Joojoo57 & Richmond Lad to tackle some of the Drum Beat Series. I was promoted to No. 1 tree climber and tree fisherman The rest of the team were responsible for locating the cache in the foliage TFTC
Some logs were signed as JJ57, RL, E3 to save space on smaller logs.

wow what a fun puzzle this was. My geo work friend spent a few lunch breaks solving it. We got muggled during a couple of our lunch break but thankfully today there were no muggles around. I forgot my TOTT but i was able to use a long stick to get my prize. Gee i was very happy about that. THis was great fun. THank you for the fun puzzle and cache.
A second TOTT retrieval today, not far from our previous success. Again I was in action retrieving this one and Gunnie did the honours signing the log before successfully replacing back in play. TFTC
A nice short stroll from the last cache in this series for NurseyJulie and I, we arrived at GZ where NJ very quickly spotted the container and jumped into action for retrieval. The GPS was bouncy under the heavy tree cover, but GZ drew near and the container was spotted. [^]
NJ did the retrieval honours and handed me the log for business before returning the container as found. Two down and twice as many remaining.
Cheers Willis007.

I knew a few of the answers to this, but google got most of them for me. This was one of the harder fishing caches I have done. Being short sighted does not make it easy to see a tiny wire loop at that height. [8]
The catch was fairly easy, but the release took a few attempts.

What is almost as hard as tree fishing in the dark?? Tree fishing in the rain!
I attempted to do this cache last night but it was too dark for me to find the cache and my phone torch just didn't cut it.
So back today while there was daylight and I wandered back into the bush, I found the cache pretty much straight away (I was pretty close last night!) and just as I went to deploy my pole the heavens opened and it started raining. It was a bit tricky to keep looking at the cache while I was being hit in the face with raindrops. With persistence I retrieved the cache, tried to not let it get too wet as I signed it and then replaced back up.
Another one down. Tftc and great series Willis007, adding another well earned FP

Somehow getting it back was easier than getting it down. Our TOTT was not tall enough!
Thanks for the puzzle and hide.

Almost gave up as soon as we spotted it.
That was the most physically demanding cache I’ve done. My poor arms waving around dramatically. It was my frustrated bashing that got it down after 4 missed attempts. Surprisingly got it up on second attempt between the two of us holding and directing and looping.
Enjoyed the puzzle.

With the fishing pole in hand, decided to extend the morning's walk and crossed the road. The extraction of the cache was easy, returning the cache caused a few issues. The cache seems to have enough of the high life and was keen to return to terra firma.
Trying different angles of the dangle from a few spots, came back to where the cache was caught and it reluctantly went back to hanging around. Thanks for setting up the drum series Willis007.

Nice and high and seemed determined not to be returned to its perch! 7 attempts had it finally back in place! TFTC
I had parked over the road and then spent so much time waiting for the traffic to thin before I could cross over. Up the hill and into the bush and then I spent some time craning my neck before I spotted it and then it was a long stretch of the TOTT to retrieve it.
On returning to my wife in the car I found that the battery had run flat. I had forgotten to turn off the headlights and the car and my wife had been there for some time while I found a few caches in the area. Thank goodness i am in the RACQ.

This was a cool puzzle. Out today with Swearah, Jodsta83 and Stephyy on our second day of drumming adventures. Swearah caught the fish this time. TFTPC!
Another day out with swearah, jodsta83 and Krcamber collecting solved drum puzzles.
Nice quick find here. Swearah bring down the goods more like dropping them from the heavens. Then a nice smooth return.
Thanks for the cache.

Out with krcamber, swearah and Stephyy for day 2 of grabbing some drums.
We have been collectively solving these ones and today is the day to put some smileys on the map.
With the TOTT in hand we headed to GZ where the prize was spotted by Stephyy and swearah is up for the retrieval on this one.

I had a late start today as I had to have my leg dressed, caching injury 3 or 4 weeks ago and I also had a hair cut booked but then I was able to join with RoddyC, Hatsoff, Patrol14, Snickersallen and GrannySmith1947 to do a bit of Drumming and a few other caches. Its always good to have company.
Cache found, log signed and all replaced as found. TFTC

Now that we have more freedom, it's time to get out and about. Target: More of the Drum Beat Series which we started a couple of weeks ago. I figure we shall need another day to finish them off. Our team met up at the Stafford City Shopping Center and we started from there. All up we had just the one DNF at #6.
Yeah! Most drummers rock. They also used specialized tools and know how to use them when required.
Log signed and cache replaced as found on 21st August 2021. TFTC, Willis007

After dropping my daughter off at work I decided to go for a walk to get my daily steps. Parked at Chermside West Park and headed off with fishing pole and pen in hand. Here I walked around in circles trying to spy that cache. Looked at a photo and from that worked out where I needed to be. Pole extended and I soon had the cache in hand. If only all fishing was this easy. TFTC Willis007
Went back to the car to grab the pole then headed cross country to make a quick find. Thanks for the cache
***COs- Gradually trying to catch up on a major logging backlog, some I'm sorry to say, stretches back a few years.
It started as a series of unfortunate events and went from there.
Please note- I'm logging each cache on the day that I visited it, not the day I'm logging on. Cheers??***
Visiting here with jebjeb's from Germany and testing out our skill (or lack of!??) with my new TOTT toy. We're getting there along with cricked necks and a lesson in where NOT to put ones finger when sliding the sections down!????????

Out with Mr CuriousQuest, helping him complete his 25D/T in a day challenge. I had already solved the series. I detoured by the geomobile on the way to this cache to grab the ToTT. That made grabbing the cache so easy. TFTC
Spent a few hours out with Selva Girls this afternoon to pick up some of the Drum Beat caches. Plenty of walking, a bit of tree climbing and some tree fishing. There were some good hides along the way and some rather sneaky ones.

Well, this was a killer and will certainly be going on my ‘special’ list...
After taking care of three or four other tree fishing caches very recently, I was very confident heading into this one that I would knock it off too.
I parked over the road and crossed with my implement under my arm before weaving my way through the bush to the GZ. It took a while to spot it and when I did, I realised with a sinking feeling that it was significantly higher than the last ones I’ve retrieved. Nonetheless, I extended my fishing rod tied to an extendable Bunnings rod and gave it a go. It was just short.
Referring to another log, I attempted some MacGyver stuff myself but succeeding only in felling some timber. I dragged more over and set up a structure whereby I could employ a rather difficult technique involving jamming my feet in place while I extended my pole to the max. Despite my best efforts, my pole collapsed and I had to jump away.
I briefly considered climbing a nearby tree but wasn’t sure my pole would reach even if I got up there. The position of this cache is really difficult, with the ‘hook’ being directly above its branch.
A better decision was to return to my car and retrieve another extendable pole (tree lopper) to add to my overall contraption.
This I did, and moved my car closer while I was at it. Then it was time to tie it all together, with two bunya straps, 3 zip ties, and duct tape. To my amazement, it hung together long enough to retrieve the cache and bring it to earth, but then busted apart.
After signing up, I retied everything together, put the cache on the prong end and carefully lifted it up. It fell off... over and over and over. Every time I thought I had it on its way, it would fall off. It is very unusual for me to swear out loud, but I had a few things to say about this incredibly frustrating task out there today.
As I used my scissors to cut one of the zip ties to rearrange things, the scissors handle broke off. More things to say.
Finally, I bound the two rods together as tightly as if I was applying a tourniquet to a severed artery and hoped for the best. Incredibly slowly and carefully, I lifted the fishing rod part, then the Bunnings part, then the lopper part and watched as the loop went straight over the hook branch. I couldn’t believe that the geo-gods were smiling on me at last, just as the sun was threatening to set.
Speedily, I dismantled everything and headed away, mentally and physically drained but pleased it was not a DNF! TFTC and a memorable experience here.

A glorious day out on Bike, rolling along to my own rhythm and beat. 4 hours by bike covering 35kms, and a further 4 hours by Suzee car and feet. A glorious day indeed. Spent a few weeks not long after they were released working my way through these puzzles, and today managed to pick up a lot of them. Quick find here and a lovely high note to finish today on. Thanks for all the fun today.

After being caught TOTTless, we quickly examined all the other drum caches we would be walking to. Luckily we spied this one and grabbed what we needed from the car. I forgot to pack my spare brain so the fishing pole had to suffice.
I remember when I first bought the pole thinking what a sucker I was. I’d caught the geocaching bug and was spending money on something for a handful of caches. Then a 15 tree fish challenge cache came out and I could sleep better at night, if you don’t count the insomnia, narcolepsy and sleep apnea.
Now we have 37 under the belt I feel justified. Now if only I could dismiss the guilt I feel for buying a 6000 horsepower motor for a boat to find caches. I just need a boat. tftc

We have now set up camp at the Caboolture showgrounds. We have been joined for a couple of days by pprass.
Today was the 2nd day to finish off the drum series, the puzzles had been completed prior to leaving. home. So much information learnt about drummers & drumming.
This series today we spent about half & half of the time bike riding & by car. The bike riding was by far the most enjoyable.
Thankyou Willis007 for placing this cache.

A team effort to solve all the caches in this series in preparation for burgo78 visiting the big smoke.
Loaded the bikes this morning and set out to log the series by car and bike.
Met some friendly muggles, saw wallabies and a turtle, rode bikes in the mud, and through fast-flowing creeks.
Easy tree climbs and some hard-to-find ones.
Wet feet and shoes all day due to plenty of water in many parks.
The Kedron brook was flowing quickly, would have been an adrenaline-packed paddle today.
Thank you Willis007 for this series and my apologies for the copy-paste logs

Out and about again with Georode to finish off the drum series. This will be our 2nd day on the geo bikes covering just over 40 km's today ( 80km in total over 2 days of cycling from home.)
I have enjoyed the challenge of solving the various puzzles thrown up by Willis007. Most of them i was able to punch my way through by myself, however a few i needed a kick in the right direction.
Today we had the relevant TOTT to collect the harder to reach caches. I feel like i pushed my way through a hundred spider webs whilst crawling in and around the trees and i must have been bitten at least 10 times by the mozzies but i loved it.
Tanks Lisa for a great series and and extra big thanks for putting it so close to my home

A bit of a mix and match and we soon had to this puzzle solved. Out with E_Smiley, Mr Domsky pulled the required TOTT from the boot and off we went. Necks stretched and eyes looking upwards, some sleepy looking bats look down at us. Butterflies danced around us, and with the final manoeuvre, we were gently lowering the container to the ground.
Log signed, and then it was time for the delicate organisation of returning the container to its rightful place.
Thanks Willis007

Thanks for the cache and taking us here Willis007. Enjoyed solving the puzzle and finding the cache with Domsky.
Appreciate your time and effort for putting out and maintaining these for our enjoyment.

What happens when two tree fishers arrive at a cache with exactly the same TOTT... well you share it of course... Mr Domsky spied the cache and made short work of the retrieval...
I made everyone’s mark and returned the cache with my oversized meat hook...
Tftc Willis007 and thanks for the conversation Mr & Mrs Domsky and E_:) (I think I got that right)...
Oh and I even managed to wade one of Mrs Domsky’s streams to get here...

I'm afraid I had a run-in with a spider here and freaked out, so I don't remember much about this one. Geocaching really can be a challenge for arachnophobics!

I had commitments already this morning but couldn’t resist joining La Kedi, Slow Puncture, ruzzelz and IolantheK for the first part of their cache hunting ride. We didn’t manage to get to this one before I had to go but as luck would have it, I had finished and returned just in time to go fishing with them. Bonus fishing lesson for me here. TFTC Willis007
Out for a Caching Coffee Cycle with LaKedi, IolantheK, DisSister and Mrs Slow Puncture. We had planned a nice little loop to bang a few Drums along the way, check out the local bike paths and bushland and indulge in caffeine and cakes along the way and then do a round of tree fishing to finish off the days activities.
Last one the ride caches for ruzzelz (although the others walks) from here it is just a shot cycle over the hill and I'm home.

Out for a bike ride early this morning with ruzzelz, Slow Puncture, La Kedi and DisSister. We met at Downfall Creek at 7am and spent just over 4 hours riding 17kms, and I gathered 14 smileys
That was a fun solve. google for the win.
The bike ride is now done, but we have a few tree fishing caches to do. ruzzelz knew the right track to bring us to GZ. It took a bit to locate this one, but again Slow Puncture did the work. TFTC, Willis007.

Monday. Coming to the end of the day of caching for our group comprising LaKedi, Ruzzelz, IolantheK, DisSister and Mrs Slow Puncture and this was my second last cache for the day. Looked right up there and managed to spot the container in short order. Used the TOTT we’d brought for the occasion and soon had the cache retrieved, log signed and then returned back to it’s home. A muggle thought us highly amusing as he watched from another direction. I usually try to look inconspicuous when I noticed something I’d like to see, but not this chap, he was in boots and all having a right good look. He still couldn’t have worked out what we were doing though, he was out of line of vision and I don’t think he could work out what we were doing anyway.
This was the 20th of 21 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***Willis007*** for showing us this place

So many solved puzzles calling to us, even in our sleep, that here we are again for Day 3 collecting Drum Beats & smilies.
We haven't had a really good geoart in a while and this one is certainly getting us back in the game!
Kudos to Willis007 for the effort put in.
#17 of 25 caches found today.
With so many familiar names this puzzle was a quick solve.
Once at GZ we found it to be far more than just a stretch of the imagination here.
It was a stretch of **EVERYTHING**!
Our tool was short by about 30 cms but with a little Mcgyvering we soon had the cache at ground level.
Made our mark and replaced as found.
Putting these back is almost as challenging as getting them down! LOL ...

Out collecting some more of the drum beat series on the way back from a nice long bike ride.
Made it to GZ before realising I would need a certain TOTT here, so back I went to fetch it. No problems retrieving the cache, nice quiet piece of bushland here to conduct activities today.
#10408 @ 12:58
Thanks Willis007 for giving us a reason to visit.

WOW, I was just about to jump in a boat and the phone goes ballistic, new caches being published and it just didn’t stop. Oh the pain! I’m heading in the wrong direction for the next 6 hours. I got home and started solving puzzles and to my surprise there were still a lot to be collected and only a few of the FTF’s gone. I concentrated on a few and went with the notion that I may just get a couple from the series. I spent the night solving puzzles and made a list ready for my assault on tomorrow’s caches.
What a great little series of the caches, I found there was good variety of hides and types of containers, all required a little look around before I could make the find. Thank you for this urban geoart series, I had a good time racing and chasing caches today.
A nice puzzle and an easy find today, with log signed and cache replaced as found I was off to my next target cache.
