Didn't find this one today, we did see something partially attached to a tree, but it's not longer usable or loggable. We were spoken to by a local farmer who did mention that the caches should not be within private property so Mickey could be right - there were a few missing. Logged all DNFs and our finds though and did the whole Mudlo trail.

Nowhere in sight

Found a tree with an insulator attached.. but no cache. Maybe missing.

28-Aug-23
This cache looks as though it has gone.
There is no sight of it on the ground, after a thorough search.
There are a few other caches in the area that are also missing. Maybe a local farmer doesn't like the idea of cachers coming onto his land????
I dfidn't have suitable equipment to replace the cache.
Another day???????????????

Liz and Bruce I didn’t find your cache Pole Dancing on 23/1/2023, 3:17 pm. While in the area, checked this one, looks like it’s gone.

No luck today. The GPSr indicated a dead tree/pole with an insulator attached, but no sign of any cache. Searched on the ground surrounding but no luck either.

I’ve come up here to try and qualify for a crazy Challenge Cache in Cunnamulla… Forward planning, I’m driving L’DeVine, so hopefully no busted tyres today…

This is the furthest North I’m driving today, so this is where I turned back south… when I pulled up I thought the cache was toast… there has been significant burning, controlled or otherwise through here… I spotted what looked like a tie, and thought I’d be writing a NM, but after looking a little higher spotted the beastie…

This is the cache though that my pole broke at …️ thankfully after returning the cache… 11m of telescoping joy…gone…

Tftc… have a fave point for the memories…

Heading home from Rainbow Beach we stopped in Kilkivan to grab a few more caches we didn’t have time for on the way up. Couldn’t go past a tree fishing cache! Located the right tree and sent up the pole where the prize was quickly hooked and brought to the ground. Added our name to the log and threw the fish back into the tree where it belongs. Another great fishing expedition with SS and doscrapbooking. A big thankyou to HansandLinda for letting us tag along
Thanks Liz and Bruce.

11-Jul-21
AS host at the Mid Year Event GC9ADN4 it was impossible for me to get away on the Saturday and besides Hans and Linda were the only ones with a pole for these treetop ones that I hadn't found.
With us today were pmt123, doscrapbooking and a couple of others that kept disappearing and reappearing.
Don't think I will invest in a pole as I find it real difficult to bend my head back far enough to find the cache up so high.

The honours of finding the blighter goes to Linda who was standing on the road, Hans did the honours in bring it down for the rest to sign.
At this one a couple of locals stopped and asked if we needed help, just told we are geocaching, all good and they continued on.

TFTC. Day 2 of our stay attending the Mid year event. We decided to head up Mudlo Rd to complete all the caches this way. All finds were quickly found with good co-ordinates. This was the third of three fishing caches along Mudlo Road.. As we had the pole we were joined by Sweet-Sour, Doscrapbooking and PMT123. Quickly spotted and retrieved. We then partied with the others to continue our drive up the road.

On a small road trip with Muggle65 and Brislions today. Mostly we are after Muggle65 challenge required caches. But any day caching is a great day.

This took me ages to grab and even longer to replace. The wind was so strong and gusty here.

Thank you so much for this cache. We had fun

Our last tree adventure for today & what a fantastic hide on a historic pole. Tube well camouflaged against the pole & after a dance retrieved it signed it & returned it

After camping overnight in Kilkivan I headed out this morning along Mudlo Rd. Another great country drive with good containers and good coords, which always makes the experience nicer.

No problems finding the cache but I had to go back to the car for the pole.Razz Finally hooked it and brought it down to ground and once the log was signed all was returned as found.

If a cache needed attention that was done too.

Thanks to the CO's for placing a great series in this area.

On our way back to Kilkivan from Mudlo National park, we stopped by here as we'd missed it on the way up. A wander into the long grass and found the pole in question. This was a nice different one not being on a tree after all. Well I suppose the pole was a tree once in its previous life.
We got it down and back up without too much ado. Interesting sparkly container.
This one was #12 of 12 we found today. Now we needed to get to Murgon for our hotel for the night. Out this direction for a long weekend for the pumpkin festival.

Time to get back down to business, hit the road & rack up some more smilies to spread warmth & happiness throughout the land.
Knocking up the numbers doesn't hurt either! Surprised
Kilkivan & surrounds were our target areas this run.
Day #2.
#24 of 55 smilies today. Smile

Team VC is all over these tree fishing caches now.
Teamwork is the go!

Day Three of our caching adventure in Blackall. Today was a HUGE day we started (and ended) the day by finding caches along the Blackall Jericho Road and diverged to log the Mail Trail and the Wherigo "Heartland" series.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found most caches where our GPS said we should be looking, we did have to expand our search for some though.
**Cache Condition:** Most containers and logs were in good condition. Some were wet, with soaked logs.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny

Tftc Liz and Bruce, Judy's turn now, easy to spot this one, but took a bit of wrangling to get it down, tip of our rod popped off and had to retrieve that too! After a bit of jiggling, job done.

10-Apr-21
We are now camped at the Kilkiven Rest area. A big weekend in town with the annual horse ride event on. A street parade of all sorts of horses & riders was part of our couple of days here.
We spent many klms driving the country roads, the farmers have to be happy with the acres of green grass in the paddocks.
We found a good variety of caches in a variety of locations.
Thankyou Liz and Bruce for placing this cache.

Heading north and stopping at Gympie, Kilkivan, Gayndah and places between for a few caches along the way.

This one was fun, easily spotted from the car and not too hard to retrieve. Got the shoes wet in the long wet grass, but as it turns out they would soon get much wetter!

That’s an interesting looking tree with its other adornment. Clearly it’s had another purpose in life before this cache. Good find.

This was another good challenge retrieving and replacing this cache.

Thanks Liz and Bruce. Finding this cache added more fun to our day.

##Note to CO's of caches along Mudlo Road Kilkivan & not within a national park boundary.##
###(This is one such cache).###
We were approached today by a person purporting to be an owner of property along this stretch of road. She took great pains to explain that the road reserve here is 5 metres wide, and that some caches placed here are actually much further than 5 metres from the road.

She stressed that these caches are therefore on private property and asked us to move any we found that were incorrectly placed.

Most of the caches we found were OK, but a few were quite a distance from the road. (Caches up side tracks are NOT OK).

We didn't move any, but if your cache is more than 5 metres from the main road - please do something about moving it.

Day two of our trip to clear up some caches in the Goomeri - Kilkivan area. Fooled by this one for a minute before spotting the cache. Lots of different sorts of wild flowers around GZ. TFTC Liz and Bruce Smile

We saw the hide from the road. Gotta love an (almost) park and grab!! Juuuust enough of a peg to hang the cache off but it made for a quick return after signing. A really beautiful area highlighted with this new batch of caches. Thank you for bringing us here.

Found after the cito.
I was late but I got there eventually.
Missed the COs on this trip but therewill always be future events.

We were spending time at the nearby Kilkican event, which meant catching up with friends, and finding a lot of recently, and not so recently placed geocaches. We joined a group of trainee 'Fishermen/women', and got a group ***FTF*** for our efforts. Now that was fun
Thanks L&B and YOF for your efforts

Day 2 of the New Year event at Kilkivan. Having a wonderful time meeting new cachers as well as catching up with some old faces.
Today Ms Maddy, TripleTurmoil, CHAMAD and myself piled into the car and headed out for some new caches, and to collect some oldies. There were a couple of things which happened today, these will remain firmly implanted for quite a while to come. These events added to a super fun day with great caches and fantastic company.
Arriving at gz we spotted the cache quickly, the trick was then to retrieve it. Both Ms Maddy and TripleTurmoil were new to tree fishing, so we gave them the TOTT and let them work out how to make it work. It didn't take too long for the cache to be in hand. With the log signed, the cache was then returned to its home.
Thanks Liz and Bruce for the fun cache.

After a big day of caching yesterday and a good night sleep it was time to do it all over again. The plan today was to grab some caches along Mudlo road and get a couple of ftf’s. Same team as yesterday and Willis007 offered to drive, we also had a new inclusion, 4Hawkers joined us today. A fun morning and a lot of chatter along the way as these three girls can talk alot, lol.

The trip was entertaining, the variety of caches was nice and they were all found in good condition, the scenery was varied and spectacular along this road; what an awesome area, thank you.

Thank you to all the CO’s for placing caches along this road, I really enjoyed the drive along here and finding your caches.

This was a fun one to grab, a good learning and training cache for the newbies to tree fishing, nice work Liz and Bruce.

In the Kilkivan area for a couple of days caching around. Today (Day 2) I have hatzofff and Snickersallan in the geo-vehicle.

It's funny how over-exposed you feel when nearby workers can see what you are doing - I wonder what they really thought? We sure were dancing around a bit! [:o)]
Log signed and cache replaced as found on 02/01/2021. TFTC, Liz and Bruce.

Second day of visiting this lovely small township of Kilkivan and surrounding areas with hatzofff and RoddyC. Still collecting the newly released caches and picking up some of the older ones.
When someone asked if I've ever done pole dancing, I didn't know it was like this but I found it fun to do especially with a group. Well done CO.

Attending the newbies event over the New Year weekend. Great to tour the country and pickup caches and meet up with geocaching friends.

Yes, IPS. Now to get it down and backup again. I am sure the workman up the road wondered what we were doing.

GZ has seen better days but, hey, now it’s been repurposed for our enjoyment Love that the old insulator is still stuck halfway up the pole. Chamad and 4Hawkers did most of the work while Willis007 and I ate chippies and kept on Farmer Pat just down the road a bit digging a trench. But they didn’t seem interested in our antics.

Really liked this tree fishing cache, so dropping a FAVE point here Smile **FTF**

Out completing the gaps along Mudlo Rd with Willis007, Chamad and MissMaddy. Such a fun trip, making new friends. Still fascinated that this power pole is so old that it has disintegrated enough to be barely recognisable.
