Managed to get this one down with our pole. The container is very brittle and the lid is falling apart. We had some tape so fixed it up so the log stays in. Not the most stealth tape for camouflage though!Day 4 of our 4 day anniversary road trip to Maryborough and out West. Lots of adventure to be had with my love SCAHPA. Log signed as CS & SC to save time and room - Trademark skeleton animals sticker left in cache - TFTC, effort time and maintenance
The container and the big ring are both falling apart. We sticky taped it and placed it in the tree to the right of the original location due to the sticky tape putting too much weight on the pole to replace it where we originally got it from.
After spending the night in town and dining out at the local pub it was time to get out and do colorectal the local area. I am working on a local challenge at home that requires cache numbers in Local government areas and so I need another 80 or so in the Gympie area. This area is rich with caches so off I go. Arriving at ground zero I found a safe place to park the geowagon and off I go. I quickly found ground zero and located the cache. After extracting the log and making my mark I quickly returned to the geo wagon in search of my next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - Liz and Bruce [^]

The last time we cached along this road we.missed this one as we didn’t have the TOTT needed. Today we parked close to GZ and soon spotted the cache. Retrieval went well, log signed and replaced as found. Thanks Liz and Bruce.
Liz and Bruce I found your cache Iron Maiden on 23/1/2023, 2:50 pm. This is my find 4659 and find # 5 today. Found it head height. Signed it and placed it higher up in the tree so a TOTT will be needed. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
wind swirling,we eventually got it back up , definitely need the right tott, bits of joined together with tape is not ideal, tftc
Left Home, Maryborough QLD. today heading for QOGM 22. With the added change of our new LC300 towing the caravan, only a short hop to test everything. No problems and arrived at Kilkivan free camp, setup and headed out for some caches around town. Grabbed a few but still plenty more here for our next visit.

Our journey south begins, somewhat reluctantly as we have been enjoying the warm weather and we know it is still cold and wet in Victoria.
It was only a short journey from Maryborough to Kilkivan but some well placed caches with good parking enabled us to collect caches on the way. There was only one we had to pass as we could not find a place to pull up. Lots of traditionals, but good sizes and in great condition.
On arrival at Kilkivan we set up camp and had some lunch before heading off to complete the Adventure Lab in town. Then is was off up one of the trails on Mudlo Road through the National Park and beyond. Some great countryside and worth the trip. Again good sized caches in the main in good condition. We got to use our TOTT we are becoming more proficient with but missed one that seemed to be gone.
A big day again, so we both should sleep well tonight!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Liz and Bruce.

I’ve come up here to try and qualify for a crazy Challenge Cache in Cunnamulla… Forward planning, I’m driving L’DeVine, so hopefully no busted tyres today…
So, these fishing caches don’t help with this challenge, but it’s hard to pass them by… and seeing I’d threw the pole in at 6am this morning best I use it…
So I gave myself an hour to detour down this road… the midday sun was in just the right spot to make this difficult, plus the small loop and my attempt to look like a statue as the muggles went past made this cache memorable…tftc…

Heading north to Rainbow Beach today, chucked the fishing pole in just in case we had time to stop for some tree fishing caches. Going well for time we stopped here and started the search. Took a couple of minutes to find the right tree but after we did it was a quick retrieval and log signed. No trouble replacing and it was on to the next one. Tftc Liz and Bruce
This was one of my targets for the day.
A generous d/t combination, i get to use my new fandangled fishing pole i've dragged along for the trip and the cache title itself all combined to make this cache worthy of the hunt.
When i rocked up here, it took a moment to find then when i got out the tree fishing pole, the hook had broken off the top, so i had to do a little maintenence onsite before everything was back in order then it was a quick hook and release.
This was one of the best tree fishing branches i've come across so far.
Thanks so much liz and bruce for the thoroughly entertaining hide. My third with this combination.
Cheers!

This is so bizarre.
I totally wrote out this nice long log about this cache find only to discover it wasn't logged or even sent to drafts.
Ugh.
So. This was one of my targets for the day.
With a generous d/t combination, a chance to put my tree fishing pole i'd specifically dragged along for the occasion to good use, and the cache title itself all combined to make this cache one worthy of the find.
Thanks liz and bruce for hiding something a little different on this cool backroad.
This is the third combination of this difficulty terrain matrix i have come across. Thankyou!

Ahah, it did work.
Then my found it log suddenly became a write note. Huzzah, no random double logs to sort through and delete later.

AS host at the Mid Year Event GC9ADN4 it was impossible for me to get away on the Saturday and besides Hans and Linda were the only ones with a pole for these treetop ones that I hadn't found.
With us today were pmt123, doscrapbooking and a couple of others that kept disappearing and reappearing.
Don't think I will invest in a pole as I find it real difficult to bend my head back far enough to find the cache up so high.
The honours of finding the blighter goes to Linda who was standing on the road, Hans did the honours in bring it down for the rest to sign.

TFTC. Day 2 of our stay attending the Mid year event. We decided to head up Mudlo Rd to complete all the caches this way. All finds were quickly found with good co-ordinates. This was the first of two fishing caches. As we had the pole we were joined by Sweet-Sour, Doscrapbooking and PMT123. The cache was spotted by Linda from the road and she guided us to the right location. Had to stretch a bit and thankfully there was no wind.
On a small road trip with Muggle65 and Brislions today. Mostly we are after Muggle65 challenge required caches. But any day caching is a great day.
This was soooo difficult today. The wind kept whipping the end of the pole wherever it wanted. Took me quite a while to relocate the prize.
Thank you so much for this cache. We had fun

Hitting this hide found, retrieved & returned it before the wind played havoc with the find
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
01/07/21 Staying in Free Camp sites with Caravan and seeing the sights and grabbing some caches. I am on holidays from Mackay. Sunny Day today. Easily found cache and fishing was good. Returned cache to its location all good. TFTC SL
After camping overnight in Kilkivan I headed out this morning along Mudlo Rd. Another great country drive with good containers and good coords, which always makes the experience nicer.
Parked nearby and once at GZ started the search. I was going around and around for ages and was wondering why I couldn't see my prey. The neck was aching and I was wondering if I should come back after I had coffee. But then I tried something different and viola! there she blows!! Nothing like barking up the wrong tree Up went the pole, finally hooked and the cache wsa brought to ground.
Once the log was signed the cache was returned to its perch as found.
If a cache needed attention that was done too.
Thanks to the CO's for placing a great series in this area.

Missedya - Looked and looked but could not find it. Farmers friends got the better of me. Tftc
Time to get back down to business, hit the road & rack up some more smilies to spread warmth & happiness throughout the land.
Knocking up the numbers doesn't hurt either!
Kilkivan & surrounds were our target areas this run.
Day #2.
#15 of 55 smilies today.
JUST got it!
Another 10cm & this may well have been a DNF.
Quick find, slower retrieval.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Tftc Liz and Bruce, after finally receiving our new tree fishing rod by extra special delivery. BL was very keen to get to this cache to test it out.
Eagle eye quickly spotted the target, however the tether was very well blended with the tree and had to make a few manoeuvres to get hooked on.
Finally job done.

We are now camped at the Kilkiven Rest area.
This was our 1st fishing cache & as we replaced the cache we also left the tip of our fishing pole up there as well.
The following tree hides we made a temprary hook, & surprisingly it worked better than the original. As we returned to the Iron Maiden we went fishing again & retrieved the tip.
FP given for the fun
A big weekend in town with the annual horse ride event on. A street parade of all sorts of horses & riders was part of our couple of days here.
We spent many klms driving the country roads, the farmers have to be happy with the acres of green grass in the paddocks.
We found a good variety of caches in a variety of locations.
Thankyou Liz and Bruce for placing this cache.

Heading up to Maryborough for a few days, and stopping at Gympie, Kilkivan, Gayndah and places between for a few caches along the way.
Wow, this was one of the hardest tree fishing caches I've done, a combination of factors led to a series of missed retrievals before finally landing the fish.

This cache was hard to spot. Then a gust of wind turned it and we saw a flash of silver. Not hard to see at all really when you know where to look. Getting it down wasn’t so hard but getting it back up was a real test.
Thank you for the fun cache Liz and Bruce.
Thank you for the fun cache Liz and Bruce.
This one took longer to spot. There were lots of trees to choose from and lots of geotrails. I think it was easier to replace then remove.
This one took us quite a while to find. Retrieval was not the easy either but we did get there in the end. This was our hardest cache of the day. TFTC
Day two of our trip to clear up some caches in the Goomeri - Kilkivan area. We found this one really hard to spot due mainly to the sun being right over head - nearly gave up at one point but persevered . This was definitely the hardest and highest one for us. TFTC Lix and Bruce

After an initial bum steer with the wrong coords, we headed back for another try, but not before collecting a couple of late arrival cachers on the way. The good ol fishing pole made one last appearance and we were happy to have found all six in this series in our event trip. Thanks for the hides!
Great to have been able and available to place this one with the Cache Owners. Thanks for teaching me some new methods.

In the Kilkivan area for a couple of days caching around. Today (Day 2) I have hatzofff and Snickersallan in the geo-vehicle.
We were given the wrong coordinates for this initially, but I did manage to spot it. It turned out to be the most difficult of all the tree-fishing caches, in my humble opinion!
Log signed and cache replaced as found on 02/01/2021. TFTC, Liz and Bruce.

After a big day of caching yesterday and a good night sleep it was time to do it all over again. The plan today was to grab some caches along Mudlo road and get a couple of ftf’s. Same team as yesterday and Willis007 offered to drive, we also had a new inclusion, 4Hawkers joined us today. A fun morning and a lot of chatter along the way as these three girls can talk alot, lol.
The trip was entertaining, the variety of caches was nice and they were all found in good condition, the scenery was varied and spectacular along this road; what an awesome area, thank you.
Thank you to all the CO’s for placing caches along this road, I really enjoyed the drive along here and finding your caches.
AHH this one, what an adventure this one was. I finally found the tree and alerted the girls of its presence. With Willis007 and 4hawkers keen to fish this one down it was a nice opportunity for me to find a comfortable spot, sit back and watch the games. It was great to see the girls having a go and learning and they were doing really good, till it fell further down the branch. 4hawkers jumps in and takes over the pole and with some good accuracy she had it off in no time. A very well deserved favourite point for this one and to the two girls for the team work, a lot of fun at this one, thank you, liz and bruce.

Rolled up here after our Mudlo Road caching run and as the cache hadn’t been published, we had to find the hide Chamad’s tree identification skills are now in doubt Then we took it in turns to attempt the retrieval. The cache came down about half a metre and would not budge. Some careful manoeuvring by Mish finally got it down The head tipping and neck extension was quite difficult

Had so much fun with this cache. I had previously had a go at this type of cache at mystic marvels up the road. Willis007 and MissMaddy we struggling with this one. Chamad had taken up a seat to over verbal directions. I guess he figured he was going to be here a while.
Then beginners luck, it wasn't long before I had it down! Very triumphant moment for me. Got it back up on my own too.

Day 2 of the New Year event at Kilkivan. Having a wonderful time meeting new cachers as well as catching up with some old faces.
Today Ms Maddy, TripleTurmoil, CHAMAD and myself piled into the car and headed out for some new caches, and to collect some oldies. There were a couple of things which happened today, these will remain firmly implanted for quite a while to come. These events added to a super fun day with great caches and fantastic company.
This was a quick find, log signed, cache replaced as found.
Thanks Sweet-Sour for the cache.
